EVOLVE National Pro Wrestling Day Special: 2/1/2104 Results

The show opens with EVOLVE Owner Remington Steele coming out to the ring in welcome the crowd to the EVOLVE Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The show was being held in observance of the National Pro Wrestling Day initiative that was being pushed on social media. Steele was about to make an announcement about the first EVOLVE Cup as "Enter Sandman" by Metallica started playing. Brock Lesnar would come out with a microphone. Lesnar was surprised that Steele didn't bring security out with him like last time they met. Lesnar once again stated that he wanted a title shot against the EVOLVE Grand Champion, "The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson. Steele pointed out that there were strict rules in EVOLVE that he wouldn't break, and he reminded Lesnar that he is giving him a huge chance at the Grand Champion tonight, with 3 points in it for him. Lesnar stated that he could break Steele in half. Steele stated that he could fire Lesnar and make sure he wasn't booked anywhere again. Lesnar growled and just left the ring, saying he would destroy Anderson tonight as a lesson to Steele.
Match 1: Jamin Olivercia defeated Alex Shelley by pinfall after hitting the O Drop (Jumping DDT with bodyscissors) [Olivercia gains 1 point.]
Match 2: Antonio Cesaro defeated Tyson Kidd with the Swiss Death Uppercut. [Cesaro gains his 2nd point, Kidd loses his point.]
In the backstage area, shown on the projection screen, "The Icon" Matt Hardy would be getting his gear on, preparing for a tag match against The Briscoes. Jeff Hardy would walk into the scene and ask Matt if he is ready. Matt just looks over at Jeff and nod, afterwards saying that he didn't understand what the big deal was. Jeff would get in his brother's face for a moment, telling him that whatever is going on in his head right now to drop it. They have a match tonight and they need to be on the same page. Matt tells his brother he is on the same page as he is, before walking past his brother and out of the locker room, slamming the door.
Match 3: The Hardy Boys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) defeated The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) by pinfall after a Twist Of Fate/Swanton Bomb Combo by the Hardys, with Jeff getting the pinfall. After the match, Matt would just leave the ring and go back to the locker room.
Match 4: Kevin Steen defeated Bobby Roode by submission after locking in the Sharpshooter. Austin Aries would try to intervene in the match, only to get hit with a Pumphandle Neckbreaker by Steen. [Steen gains 1 point]
After the match, Steen would celebrate his victory over Roode, but Aries would come from behind with a steel chair and hit Steen with it. As The Gentlemen's Club prepare to injury Steen, Steve Corino would run out with his own steel chair to chase off the heels. Corino would help Steen up, as the bewildered Steen just looked at Corino and then back at the Gentlemen's Club up the ramp. Steen grabbed the microphone and issued a challenge. At the next EVOLVE house show, it would be the Gentlemen's Club taking on Kevin Steen and Steve Corino in a No-DQ Tag Match. The Gentlemen's Club looked as though they were going to decline, but "Born Depressed" by Drill Queen would play as EVOLVE Owner Remington Steele would come out on the ramp with a microphone in hand. Steele would make the match official for the February 5th house show. Aries and Roode would argue with Steele but he would just shake his head and disappear into the back.
Match 5: Eddie Edwards defeated ACH by submission after locking in Achilles lock. [Eddie Edwards gains his 2nd point, ACH loses his point.]
MAIN EVENT: Non-Title Match/3 points on the line for Lesnar: Brock Lesnar defeated Karl Anderson by submission after "LIve For The Moment" by Monster Magnet would start playing out of nowhere as Anderson had the advantage. Anderson would stare down at the entryway, waiting for Matt Hardy to come out, only for him to no show. This allowed Brock to turn him around and lock in the Kimura. [Brock Lesnar gains 3 points]
After the bell, Lesnar would hold onto the lock for an extended period of time. The referee would do a 5 count, but Lesnar would let go before five and leave Anderson laying in the middle of the ring. Lesnar would go to the time keeper's table and grab the EVOLVE Grand Championship belt and get into the ring. Lesnar would stand over Anderson, holding up the belt as the show would end.
