NWA Hybrid Pro TV 07/02/2014
Paul London, who was given the night off last week, makes his way to the ring to a thunderous pop from the crowd to start the show. London takes the mic.
London: "Thank you all. While I didn't win the belt at Starrcade, I lived the dream for one night, and for that I thank you all."
The fans cheer London even louder and chant "London" over and over.
"However there is still an issue that needs to be dealt with. Magnus D, you were a massive part of the reason that I didn't win that belt. Had you not set out on this personal vendetta against me and the other members of The Texus, perhaps I would have had that extra energy I needed to continue on and defeat Christopher Daniels. But I failed, and for that Magnus you will pay very dearly. I don't want your Elite Security Force in the ring, I want you in this ring, right here right now!"
London is ready and is practically begging Magnus to get out here. Magnus D obliges, but surrounded by his Elite Security Force and only as far as the ramp.
Magnus: "Mr London, do you seriously think I'd get into the ring with you. I'm not a trained professional wrestler and I'm a near cripple, doing so could threaten my very life. But hey, I have faith in my security team and I know you won't get through them. So if you and your friends can run the gauntlet tonight then I might give you the opportunity to get what you want.
Tonight, you Daniel Bryan and Brian Kendrick will do battle with my Elite Security force in 3 singles matchups. If your team can win 2 of those 3 matches, you will take part in a match next week where if you win, you will get me in the ring for 5 minutes to do as you so wish with."
Thats a big announcement by Magnus, and a big show of faith in his security. The question is, will The Texus be able to overcome The Elite Security Force tonight?
Non-Title Match
Biff Busick and Drew Gulak vs The Pistols (Mike Bennett and Tommaso Ciampa)
Busick and Gulak made for an interesting team, both are very no nonsense competitors and their styles meshed well, as they gave the North American Tag Tam Champions a good fight. Saying that, this was largely just a showcase for the champs, who got to demonstrate the teamwork and skill that has taken them to the North American Tag Team Titles, and has made them an almost unstoppable force over the past half year. An accidental Lariat by Busick on Gulak lead to him being taken out of the match, and Bennett would drop Gulak with the Box office Smash. Ciampa followed that with Project Ciampa, and got 3 as Bennett held back Gulak.
Winners- The Pistols
Post match Gulak and Busick started arguing intensely, BEFORE BRAWLING WITH ONE ANOTHER! The fight got wild, then just as officials ran out to try and stop it, both men stopped fighting and shook hands?!? Well, that was different, I'm not sure what to make of these two.
John Cena is here, and walks slowly down to the ring, throwing a load of salutes to the fans and a "you can't see me" gesture to a young fan in the front row who starts crying. Cena is all smiles and takes the mic, as it looks like we might finally get an explanation for his recent behaviour.
Cena: "So you want to know why I, John Cena, have been acting so "out of character" recently. Why I've been apparently dodging PJ Walker. Why I've been getting in my car and driving off every week. Well to explain it all, I need to get some things off my chest.
You see, my sporadic employment since the NWA started might tell you otherwise, but I am one of the biggest names in sports entertainment today. Maybe I've never been the NWA World champion, but I am the man that people pay to see. I sell the most merchandise, children look up to me as a role model, and when you ask a non-wrestling fan to name a current professional wrestler, they are far more likely to say my name than that of Christopher Daniels, Kyle Matthews, Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk or Sheamus, the champions of this organisation since its reformation.
And yet the way I've been treated since the reformation of the NWA has been nothing short of a travesty. I've been pushed as some kind of white gangster, a masked doctor, and some have even tried to make me revert to my heel persona. And all of those have flopped, because they were all poor uses of my talent. As a result, I've spent more time on the unemployment line than being used as the big star that you all know I am.
Now you expect me to go through this all again and wrestle some no name loser who thinks he's a martial artist, all because the smarks who run the NWA promotions don't have a clue how to use a talent of my calibre. HELL NO! I am done playing second fiddle to these unknowns, from now on John Cena is in this for himself. I am going to make everyone in this god damn organisation remember why I am the biggest star in professional wrestling, why you will not overlook me anymore, and why you will beg me to be the face of the NWA once again. And to do that, I certainly won't be wasting my time on PJ Walker. Thank you, and have a very good evening!"
Cena leaves to massive boos from the fans, but not before Vordell Walker charges the ring to try and get a piece of Cena, who disrespected him here by not even getting his name right. Cena leaves via the crowd to avoid a fight with Walker, before heading to the parking lot and driving off once again. Well we know Cena's reasoning now, but what will Walker have to do to get Cena in the ring one on one?
No DQ Match
The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs The Sick Bastards (Sami Callihan and Jimmy Jacobs)
Who keeps making The Sick Bastards matches No DQ? You had to feel sorry for The Usos here, they have been a solid team in Hybrid Pro ever since their debut, and yet they had a challenge unlike anything they've faced before in The Sick Bastards. The Usos out up more of a fight than The Young Bucks did last week for sure, using their double team moves quickly and almost out of desperation to avoid what seemed inevitable. And inevitable it was, as The Sick Bastards got hold of some weapons and proceeded to beat the hell out of The Usos with them, as Jacobs stabbed Jey over and over again with his spike while Callihan brought out a chair and hat Jimmy with some utterly sickening blows to the skull. Callihan and Jacobs then grabbed some singapore canes, nodded to each other and smashed The Usos with them at least 20-30 times, leaving massive welts all over their backs. Callihan put Jey in a Stretch Muffler, using the cane to choke Jey out at the same time while Jacobs got Jimmy in the End Time, Jimmy's head busted open from the chair shots. Both men passed out in the holds, leading to the ref awarding the match to The Sick Bastards by KO.
Winners- The Sick Bastards
As if that would stop The Sick Bastards, they kept the holds locked in, trying to end the careers of The Usos right here and right now, as the ref begged them to stop. Officials and other wrestlers ran to the ring to try and force them to release the holds, but this just make The Sick Bastards angry. They grabbed their singapore canes AND ATTACKED EVERYONE! Nobody seems to be able to stop these two as they nail everyone with the canes, that is until SAMOA JOE charges the ring. He charges at Jacobs and takes him down with a charging boot to the face, then smacks Callihan with a load of slaps followed by an Enziguri. The Sick Bastards head up the ramp, still smiling sadistically as Joe and the others check on The Usos, who are hurt badly.
The Usos are carried out on stretchers as Joe takes the mic.
Joe: "What you two just did was nothing short of barbaric. How dare you step into my ring and try to end the lives of innocent wrestlers and officials. Continue to do this, and Samoa Joe will show you two delinquents the true meaning of respect and integrity."
The Sick Bastards just laugh, flick the middle finger at Joe and head backstage. Joe has more to say however.
"Last week I secured my place in the NWA World Heavyweight Title tournament, along with 2 other men from Hybrid Pro. 31 others stand between me and the one thing that shows that Samoa Joe is the baddest man on this planet, the NWA World Title. Now if anybody thinks that they are badder than Samoa Joe, I dare them to stand in my way. Because I am Samoa Joe, I am pro wrestling, and at Spring Stampede I will once again be your NWA World Heavyweight Champion!"
Joe's challenge is quickly answered by none other than Matt Taven, who is surrounded by his Pistols colleagues.
Taven: Joe, Joe, Joe, when will you and all the old dinosaurs of professional wrestling learn that your time is up. The Pistols have been fighting for nearly 1 calendar year to take the top spots here in the NWA from the same old stars, and yet here you are Joe, trying to stake your claim for what is rightfully mine: the NWA World Heavyweight Title. I mean really, do the fans seriously want to see a fat, middle aged Samoan with the most prestigious belt in the NWA, or a fresh, young, exciting and charismatic young superstar like me?
The fans chant "Joe, Joe, Joe" as they seem to indicate that they don't want to see Matt Taven with the belt. He doesn't look at all pleased about that.
Joe: "Here's an idea, whats say we see who the better man is right here, right now. Think of it as a preview to the asskicking you'll receive if you come face to face with Samoa Joe in the tournament!"
Taven doesn't like the sound of this at all, but it seems like he has no choice as a referee is rushing down to the ring to start the match.
Matt Taven w/The Pistols vs Samoa Joe
Its plain to see why Taven was so happy to come down here and get in Joe's face: because he has the backups of 3 very talented men in his fellow Pistols. The Pistols have long held a rule that they don't interfere in each others matches and go for clean victories, but they threw that out the window here. The amount of outside interference was borderline ridiculous, with the three constantly providing distractions to allow either Taven to do something underhanded, or for another Pistol to get involved and attack Joe. However Joe is a one man killing machine, and this seemingly was the only way to stop Joe who Taven could barely keep on the canvas. And even then that strategy started to fail, as Joe finally knocked Taven down with an Enziguri, then dove out onto all of The Pistols with a Suicide Dive, taking them all out of the match! With Taven now on his own, he begged Joe for forgiveness, but Joe isn't really the forgiving type, he beat the hell out of Taven with some strikes, then dropped him with a Muscle Buster for 3.
Winner- Samoa Joe
Next up, The Unbreakable FN Machines make their way out for a tag team match against Sami Zayn and a partner of his choosing. Apparently Zayn was so desperate to get some revenge, he promised if The Machines won this matchup, both of them would receive a shot at his Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title. Zayn reveals his tag team partner to be.....KALLISTO! An interesting choice, another high flyer with a similar style.
The Unbreakable FN Machines ("The FN Machine" Brian Cage and "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin) vs Sami Zayn and Kallisto
Kallisto, much like Zayn did a few months ago, recently underwent an entire character makeover after having his mask ripped off, and has certainly shown something extra now that he is under a different mask. This ended up being a very fun match as you would expect, with The Machines beating the hell out of Zayn and Kallisto with their vast array of powerful moves and strikes, with Zayn and Kallisto the underdogs making fightbacks whenever they so could with their high flying offense. Cage and Elgin really are a force as a team, as good as Zayn and Kallisto are they were simply no match in the end for the duo, who took out Kallisto with a Double Lariat (turning Kallisto inside out), before Cage nailed Zayn with Weapon X that lead him straight into a Revolution Elgin Bomb, and got both men the 3 count.
Winners- The Unbreakable FN Machines
As a result of this win, both Michael Elgin and Brian Cage will receive a title shot against Sami Zayn over the next 2 weeks on Hybrid Pro TV!
Before our next match, The Young Bucks make their way out, with Nick Jackson's face fully bandaged up. Matt takes the mic.
Matt: After a brutal and unprovoked post match assault on us last week by The Sick Bastards, my brother has suffered major facial injuries. His injuries were so bad that he had to undergo emergency plastic surgery in order to save his facial features from being permanently ruined, hence why he is bandaged up so heavily. While we would love to be able to defend our titles here tonight against The Hybrid Athletes, Nick is physically unable to compete, and therefore we cannot wrestle tonight.
The ring announcer receives a text message, likely from Magnus D, and says the following.
"If The Young Bucks do not fulfill their contractual obligation and defend their titles here tonight, they will be stripped of their titles and they will be awarded to The Hybrid Athletes!"
The Bucks look furious as The Hybrid Athletes make their way out, Matthews with a microphone in hand.
Matthews: "Aww, did you get beaten up by some nasty men. What a shame, me and Jack were just watching the replays from last week and we found it hilarious. Let me make one thing perfectly clear to you two losers, you are going up against the most Hybrid team in the entire NWA, a team which just added a honorary hybrid athlete in Alberto Del Rio to its ranks, and if you think for one second you can pull that type of bullshit on me you've got another thing coming. I've been through more in the past year than both of you combined in your entire careers, and tonight those belts will belong to us, the most hybrid team in NWA history!"
Strong words from Matthews as we head into our title match
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match
The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) vs The Hybrid Athletes (Kyle Matthews and Jack Swagger)
Nicks does his best to stay out of there, refusing to compete for the most part due to his facial injuries, so effectively what we had for much of this match was a handicap situation, as Matthews and Swagger took turns at dismantling Matt. Nick did get involved when the opportunity for a double team move came along, but quickly got out of there, than was until Swagger pulled him into the ring. Nick begged and pleaded, but The Hybrid Athletes didn't listen, dropping him with a Double Powerbomb. Swagger dragged Matt out of the ring as the ref tries to gain control, while Matthews shouts out for the Hidaka Lock. But while this is going on, Nick rolls out of and under the ring, REPLACED BY A MUCH BIGGER MAN IN THE SAME FACE MASK! Matthews goes for the Hidaka Lock, but the big man throws him off and boots him in the face, before dropping him with a massive Powerbomb, as the ref somehow doesn't notice the size difference. This is a screwjob of the highest order as Matt distracts the ref and the big man rolls out, putting Nick back in on top of Matthews, 1-2-3, THE YOUNG BUCKS HAVE RETAINED!
Winners- The Young Bucks
The fans don't like this one bit, somehow The Young Bucks have held onto their titles, all thanks to the massive man who appeared. Who the hell is it and why is he helping The Young Bucks? And how will Matthews respond to being screwed over like this, we know from the past that he doesn't like being screwed like this.
Adam Cole and Chuck Taylor make their way to the ring to deafening boos from the fans, both as smug as can be. Cole takes the mic.
Cole: "Oh Johnny, didn't you see it coming? You see it wasn't just me who was getting tired of you and your control over what was The Revolution, Chuck was also getting tired of it. You all think that Johnny Gargano is a man of high morals, who wants to help the NWA improve for the better right? Well your wrong, this man is only in it for himself, which Chuck Taylor is just about to tell you all about."
Taylor: "When I joined The Revolution, Johnny told me that I would be a breakout star, than I would straight to the top of the NWA. I got a few minor opportunities, but when it came to it, did I ever really break out? NO, and do you want to know why? It was you Johnny, you held me back.
Maybe you people don't believe me, but I have more. When I came back to NWA Hybrid Pro, I was promised that I would be the winner of the Hybrid Tournament, and that I would finally get a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Title. And what happens? Johnny Gargano plays the political game, gets in the bosses ear and before you know it, he's the one winning The Hybrid Tournament. You gave me no choice Johnny, I'm not playing your political games anymore, its time for me and Adam to step out of your shadow and have the success that you stopped us from having!"
Johnny Gargano and Kyle O'Reilly then head out onto the ramp to answer the comments of these two.
Gargano: "You'd like to think I was shocked by what both of you have done over the past few weeks, wouldn't you? Well the truth is, your wrong, with both of your egos I'm not at all surprised that you chose to take the action you have. I don't understand any claims I held you back, Adam you were a World Tag Team Champion, thats no small achievement, and Chuck, you held gold as part of The Revolution as well, not to mention some massive victories along the way. Had The Revolution defeated The Pistols Chuck, you might have gone on to even bigger things. But I've accepted that The Revolution had to die, your attitudes have to be dealt with and that can only be done by ending it once and for all. Whenever you two are ready, both me and the most loyal man in the NWA Kyle O'Reilly will be more than happy to kick both of your asses."
Cole and Taylor look quite taken aback, but Cole has a response.
Cole: "OK Johnny, you want to lose that badly, then next week it is. Me and Chuck versus you and Kyle, I'll be ready to defeat both the leader who held us back and my former tag partner, the Jannetty of that team. And when we win, you'll have to admit that we really were the better half of The Revolution!"
Cole and Taylor pose as Gargano and O'Reilly look on, knowing that they have a big challenge ahead of them next week on Hybrid Pro TV!"
Its time for the main event Gauntlet series involving all three member of The Texus and The Elite Security Force. Brian Kendrick is in first, and surprisingly, The Elite Security Force choose Cibernetico as their first man.
Brian Kendrick vs Cibernetico
Cibernetico launches an onslaught before the bell even rings, using his power to try and end this thing as quickly as possible, as it becomes clear why they put Cibernetico in first: they see Kendrick as the weak link and want to guarantee that first fall. Kendrick tries his best to fight back, but Cibernetico's power and mental strength is too much for him to handle, as he drops Kendrick with Garra Cibernetica to get the 1st win in this series.
Winner- Cibernetico
Realising that they have to act fast, Daniel Bryan decides that its his turn to get in there, as The Elite Security Force choose Luke Gallows for this fall.
Daniel Bryan vs Luke Gallows
Bryan was also battling a major size difference here, but he was able to put up a much stronger fight than Kendrick could, he went all out on Gallows with that tremendous wrestling skill of his, also taking plenty of high risks to compensate for the size difference. Gallows obviously tried to use his size and power advantage to full effect, tossing Bryan around and dominating physically, but Bryan was on fire here and determined to even the score for his best friend Paul London. Bryan would lock the Yes Lock on Gallows, who was unable to escape and was forced to tap out, levelling this up at one fall each.
Winner- Daniel Bryan
Paul London vs Chris Masters
So the final fall saw Paul London and the current Windy City Heavyweight Champion Chris Masters go at it, with London knowing he'd be one step closer to revenge on Magnus D if he could win while Masters knows he would be in the boss's good books for a long time if he won. Again we followed a similar theme to the past two matches here, as London had to battle size difference of Masters with his high flying and mat wrestling skill, with London perhaps taking the most risks of the three. Masters looked great in there, he controlled much of this one, but could not keep London down, he kicked out of everything and even managed to escape the Master Lock. Things however looked bleak for London towards the end, as he missed a Londons Calling and Masters locked in the Master Lock. London had one final trick up his sleeve however, he charged for the turnbuckle, threw his feet onto it and pushed back, using the momentum to pin Masters shoulders down, 1-2-3, LONDON WINS IT!
Winner- Paul London
The Texus celebrate as The Elite Security Force head backstage, looking very worried, perhaps because Magnus D is not going to be very pleased with them about this. London now knows that if The Texus can win whatever match they need to next week, he will finally get his hands on the boss and gain his revenge. Will London do it, or will Magnus manage to escape what he's had coming to him for the past few months? We will find out next week, see you then folks!

London is ready and is practically begging Magnus to get out here. Magnus D obliges, but surrounded by his Elite Security Force and only as far as the ramp.

Thats a big announcement by Magnus, and a big show of faith in his security. The question is, will The Texus be able to overcome The Elite Security Force tonight?
Non-Title Match

Before our next match, The Young Bucks make their way out, with Nick Jackson's face fully bandaged up. Matt takes the mic.
