Windy City TV: Fight Night - episode #24
Where: Evogue Nightclub, 14500 S. Kostner Ave, Chicago, Illinois
When: Sunday 9th February 2014
Attendance: 912
*NWA Windy City's TV show "Fight Night" starts on the NWA Network with the Champion "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters in the ring with the belt tight around his waist, mic in hand and a serious, intense look upon his face.
Masters promo began with him putting accross a point that he's not sure why Daniel Puder is the golden boy who gets the one and only automatic NWA Title tourney slot from The Powers That Be in NWA Windy City, while he is the current Champion and does not get one! However, he says that's fine, Puder was always a man to take short-cuts but he's prepared to work hard for it and earn his berth in the NWA World Heavyweight Title Tourney by going through anyone and everyone and taking one of the two slots remaining that was given to Windy City by the NWA.
The Masterpiece says he's entered tonights main-event which will be a 6-Pac NO DQ 20-Minute Time Limit match, where the wrestler garnering the MOST falls will take a slot in the tournament and the wrestler gaining the LAST fall would take the 3rd and last slot in the tournament.
Smart Mark on commentary says that the participants in tonight's main-event has been set as the NWA Windy City Champion Chris Masters, Bully Ray, Carlito, former King of The Ring Kofi Kingston, a former 6-time NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion to be revealed by The Powers That Be at bell time and a final entry...to be determined by the fans tonight in a fan vote of every wrestler here tonight in the back!
*A graphic appears on the screen showing about 16 different wrestlers, the fans are told to vote via Twitter*
Masters, who is still in the ring turns away from the video screen showing the fans vote and finishes up his promo with a message to Daniel Puder. Masters says he doesn't need the Elite Security Force who he ran with in Hybrid Pro. Masters says he knows that Puder is an extremely dangerous man, after all they was partners together in Windy City and ruled the roost together...he knows Puder can and will attack at any time and hurt anyone who will get in his way.
Chris says he's not worried about his safety. He only worries about the safety of others and that's why he's going this alone in Windy City. He will concentrate on the challenge of Daniel Puder and not give a man, a devious nasty piece of work like Puder any leverage with putting friends or family nearby at risk like what happened to Luke Gallows last week when Puder seriously injured him...But tonight he will compete for a chance for NWA Gold and says if Puder decides to show up and get involved...well he knows what Puder looks like and is ready to take him on face to face if he dares to show his face!
Non-Title Match
1. Hooligan Squad (Danny Burch & Dave Mastiff) [NWA Windy City Tag Team Champs] def. Team AA: Alex Riley/"MVP" Antonio Banks in 7:10 when Burch pins Banks after a Curb Stomp
*"The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart came out with Megaphone in hand and gave congrats to the Tag Team Champions for their victory over the CPW Team and told them he has a new team, a serious team...The Only Way is Beards (Mike Knoxx & T-Bone) ...who would like to challenge the reigning champions the Hooligan Squad for the tag team titles.
Burch scoffed a bit at the challenge from Hart, saying while Knoxx and T-Bone are impressive on their own, they are a new team and have only won one match together and that they don't deserve a title shot just yet.
Hart told The Hooligans that they would prove to the Squad then that his team most definately deserves a shot at Tag team Gold brother...and he had anticipated that their challenge might be turned down so he has a backup plan in place. Next show the Only Way Is Beards while take on the former 3-Times Windy City Tag Team Champions, THE NEXUS! Heath Slater and Darren Young!
Non-Title Match
2. American Kickboxer 2 [Zero Gravity Champion] and Evan Bourne went to a 10 minute time limit draw in a non-title match. AK2 who recently lost to Noam Dar in a non-title match, although he didn't lose tonight could again not get a victory here against an impressive Evan Bourne in what was a tidy, fast paced evenly matched television style wrestling match.
Post match AK2 was a little frustrated with his recent results and pushing aside a hooded Janitor at ringside, grabbed the house-mike and told Evan Bourne that he deserves a title shot as the champ couldn't beat him. But so does Noam Dar as he's not got the job done against both men recently. Kickboxer says when the title is on the line the real him will show as he performs better under pressure so he's going to ask The Powers That Be for an Zero Gravity title defence in a triple threat match against both Noam Dar and Evan Bourne!
*We swing backstage and we see Britani Knight, with her NWA Windy City Womens Title wrapped around her waistline. Knight has a surly look on her puss and flipping her jet black hair around says she's been asked like a hundred times why she left Katy Lee Ray to take on Kong, to recieve a beating on her account against Awesome Kong when she walked out on the match, and the simple reason is she's sick and tired of having to play the heroine and save girls who are weaker and less capabe than her in the ring when they get in trouble...and then go on to see those same weak, less capable little girls surpass her and get NWA World Womens Title shots when she doesn't get seemingly any recogniition from the NWA, despite being the NWA Windy City Womens Champion for like, forever and having performed to an elite level in Asia with Joshi Puro Pride in the past. She wants to know why her name isn't even mentioned in conversations about the NWA Womens Belt?!
She mentions the same thing happened with Naomi Knight in Windy City in the past, she used to tag with her on occassionand save her from attacks from the likes of Annie Social and Hailey Hatred, yet here she is now in other promotions - now being talked about for a shot at the title when Britani is still the long-time Champion here in Windy City and doesn't get one iota of respect, why? Because she's too nice. Too pretty, and doesn't make any waves or sound her own trumpet like others do.
She says it's time to turn the page...and from now on she wants to be known as the "Elite Diva" known as Paige, because she has turned that page and will be taking no prisoners and showing no mercy to anyone. She wants the NWA's Women's Title and will go through anyone to get it. Paige says that if Katy Lee Ray is all butt-hurt about this, and she jokes that is not anything out of the normal from what she hears... then that rookie Katy can face Awesome Kong on the next Fight Night and see what she can do against a monster like Kong if she thinks she can do any better and wants to try and show up Paige again, then let's see that rookie newb bitch try, but one thing is for sure, Paige will be watching!
3. Kevin Nash Open Challenge
Kevin Nash vs ?
Nash makes his way to the ring once again for his regular segment where he gets to beat up a jobber, look cool and then sell some merch. Nash gets the big welcome again from the Chicago crowd and tonight the person accepting the open challenge is Eric Young.
Young marches to the ring and grabs the ref and hit's him with an atomic drop and a clothesline and then trys to pin the ref. Nash mocks him and after lazing in the turnbuckle corner he charges out and takes Young down with a big boot as Young got to his feet celebrating a self-counted 3 count against the referee.
Smark Mark on coms says Eric isn't the sharpest pencil and perhaps tonight he thought the open challenge was against the referee and not Kevin Nash! As it was Nash grabs Young by the hair and nails a Jacknife Powerbomb! Nash waves out a ref from the back and one slides into the ring. Nash covers him 1-2-NO Nash pulls up Young's head by his scruffy hair. Nash smirks, he hasn't had his fill of fun yet. Nash scoops up Young and lifts him up and Snake Eyes him into the turnbuckle. Young wobbles around and Nash kicks him in the gut and set's him up for another powerbomb. Nash takes his time, does the Wolf Pack sign, and then hoists Young up and down with a nasty Jacknife! Nash put's his boot on the chest of Young for the 1-2-3!
Big Daddy Cool shoves Young out of the ring with his feet and celebrates.
*Intermission with Kevin Nash signing photos for $50 each in the ring and flogging old NWO merch *
*A recap of Ron Shens jitters-inflicted loss to Samoa Joe in his wrestling debut and his surprising spirited assault on Joe afterwards to save his mentor Steve Blackman from a post match attack by Samoa Joe.
A video then plays showing Ron Shen getting some hypnotherapy on the orders of Steve Blackman. Sat on a big large chair, head back, eye's closed... he's instructed not to be scared and to free his mind of all negative energy, the hypnotist does some calming new age shit and says he is going to wrestle without any anxiety and to put out of his mind any consequences. While all of this is going on Steve Blackman is stalking around, shirt off, looking a bit pissed off - swinging his nunchucks, getting more and more hyped-up as he does so and whispering constantly to Ron to destroy, destroy, just fucking destroy! Blackman whispers in Ron's ear that if Steve Blackman "The Lethal Weapon" says he is an elite level martial artists then he is a fucking destroying machine!!!
The hypnotist a little worried about Blackman begins to wake up Ron Shen and Smark Mark on coms wonders what effect the mixed messages of New Age calm therapy and Blackman's intense shouty instructions will have on Ron Shen next week.
Windy City Cyber-TV Title Match
4. "John Doe" (The Usos w/Rikishi) def. "Shooting Star" Kris Travis with a double-Samoan Spike in 03:48
Dave Rayne sauntered down to the ring to the sound of Basement Jaxx with his manager Jimmy Hart right behind him. Rayne who is wearing the Cyber TV Title over his shoulder, said that "John Doe" once again has to put the title on the line tonight against a man of the up in the form of Kris Travis. Dave Rayne said that John Doe might actually be the bestest Cyber-TV Champion there has ever been in WCPW!
Travis waited in the ring for John Doe, but out came wearing masks two men who can only be The Usos who where flanked by Rikishi. Dave Rayne said that John Doe can be whoever he wants to be, and how many he wants to be, and tonight Kris Travis must take on what John Doe puts in front of him.
Now Kris Travis is a top talent and could one day hold the Cyber Television Title but tonight he was overmatched and despite a little flurry, The Uso's dominated and got the win for "John Doe" tonight who retains the title.
MAIN-EVENT: 6-Pac NWA World Title Tourney Qualifying NO DQ Match - 20 minute time limit
(Most falls & Last Fall get the spots)
5. "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters vs Bully Ray vs Carlito vs Kofi Kingston vs Rey Mysterio vs Crash Test Dummy
The mystery man is revealed to be Rey Mysterio who Smark Mark on comms says he cannot believe has not been NWA World Heavyweight Champion yet. Mysterio got a huge pop from the fans. The fans vote was a shocker and incredibly the winner of the vote was Crash Test Dummy! Not seen since being slaughtered by Kevin Nash in the open jobber challenge but none the less he impressed the fans!
Crash Test Dummy wearing the morph suit and signature cone on his head as he came out sprinted down to the ring hard and fast and sliding into the ring was immediately caught with a Backstabber from Carlito and pinned for the three count. That set the tone of the match with the wrestlers in the match almost taking it in turns to hit their finishers and pin Crash Test Dummy.
The workers in the match did wrestle each other, but they definately picked on the easy prey here in Crash Test Dummy. Rey Mysterio got a pin over Kofi as well but was also pinned by Bully Ray, Carlito and Chris Masters and seemed a little slower than what he has been in recent years and performed seemingly less moves as well. Mysterio was still over like rover though and going into the last 2 minutes the scores was;
Chris Masters 8
Carlito 6
Bully Ray 5
Kofi Kingston 5
Rey Mysterio 4
Crash Test Dummy 0
Crash Test Dummy got into a pushing war with a janitor at ring-side and the Janitor pushed CTD into the ring right infront of Carlito who then superkicked Crash Test Dummy and got another pinfall over tonight's fall guy to move onto 7 falls and be in contention for the most and last falls. Even Janitors it seems have got CTD's number tonight lol!
CTD was laid out out cold on the canvas having been absolutely battered tonight. Some of the action spilled outside with Rey, Kofi and Carlito all going through a table together. This left Masters up against Bully Ray, a recent tag partner of Daniel Puder. Bully Ray taunted Masters and tried to bait him towards him, when The Janitor slid into the ring. He stood right behind Masters and pulled off his hood revealing himself to be Daniel Puder and dropping his mop pulled out some brass knucks putting them slowly over his fists....posed to knock Masters out cold. Masters sensed the set-up and turned around, ducked and Puder clocked Bully Ray's clock and he was sent out over the top unconscious. Masters ran in to rush Puder but Puder ducked and smashed Masters in the face with the brass knucks knocking him out cold. A devilish smirk came over Puder's face as he paused in the ring stood above Masters...Puder pulled the lifeless body of Crash Test Dummy towards Chris Masters and flung the jobbers arm over the chest of the Windy City Champion.
The ref has no choice, and makes the count 1-2-3! The final seconds ticked away and the bell sounded for the time-limit. Crash Test Dummy pinned Chris Masters and wins the last fall to win a slot in the NWA World Title Tourney, not that he knows it as he's laid out cold, OMG!!!
Winners of a spot in NWA World Title Tourney: Most Falls: Chris Masters [8], Last Fall: Crash Test Dummy [1]
Daniel Puder then lifted up a groggy Chris Masters and smashed the handle of the mop over his back, breaking the mop to add insult to injury as the show went off the air with a close-up of Puder's grin.
