The crowd was electric after a very successful iPPV, Battle in the Burgh has come and gone and now 3RW is looking ahead to Breaking Point, from Dayton Ohio. After the opening credits roll the show cuts to Joey Styles and Don Callis who welcome the television audience to another edition of Adrenaline, on THIStv. Joey Styles lets the fans know that even though we’re only days removed from “Battle in the Burgh” we’ve already got a huge match signed for Breaking Point, and that’s Jay Lethal challenging for the X divison title against the new champion, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles! But tonight, our main event is a television title match between champion Mike Elgin and debuting Richie Steamboat. Now we’re heading to the ring for our opening contest…
SINGLES MATCH
Silas Young def. Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana
Both of these men are very technically gifted and put on a great opening match up, with Silas having the speed advantage. Cabana was able to control the majority of the match using his years of experience to keep the flyer grounded. But Young was able to come back strong and capped off the match with a standing shooting star splash to get the victory over Cabana.
After the match “The Second City Saint” Ace Steel made his debut, coming out and helping up his former student. Steel acted concerned about Cabana but suddenly drove Colt to the mat with the Implant DDT, before leaving the ring shaking his head in disgust, leaving Cabana laid out in the middle of the ring.
SINGLES MATCH
“The Messiah of the Backbreaker” Roderick Strong w/ RD Evans & Ms. Behave def. Craig Classic
Roderick Strong is coming off of a big win at BitB and now he’s facing off against another very tough opponent in Craig Classic, Strong lit up Classic with some of the hardest chops in the buisness and with RD Evan’s direction he dominated the match showing off some amazing variations of the backbreaker. Classic was able to fight back though shocking Strong with his resolve and almost got the win after slapping Strong in the sharpshooter. But Strong was able to make it to the ropes, the match continued with Strong taking the match very seriously, finishing off Classic with the “Death by Roderick”
SINGLES MATCH
Ruckus w/ The BLK OUT vs. “The Embassy’s favorite son” Brandon Bonham w/ The Embassy
The story in this match wasn’t so much in the ring as it was outside, as The Embassy and The BLK OUT were both arguing and creating a lot of tension, with the ref looking outside of the ring constantly making sure nothing was getting out of control. The two talents in the ring were putting on a good match until Bonham pulled down the bottom rope on Ruckus dumping him into danger as the Embassy’s Josh Daniels and John Walters were all over Ruckus causing the BLK OUT’s Alex Colon, Sabian and John Cena to attack in a 4 on 3 fight forcing the ref to throw out the match as the two gangs raged a war on the outside.
SINGLES MATCH
“The Timber Wolf” Davey Richards def. “The New Horror” Sami Callihan
The winner of this match will receive a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight title at Breaking Point. The chance to battle for the most coveted title in the industry made these two men pull out all the stops in this match and Callihan looked to be dominate as he used his body as a battering ram on Richards who had a hard time finding an answer to Callihan’s wild offense. Richards had to rely on a grinding style to keep himself in a position to come away with a victory, throwing his vicious, chest caving kicks at Callihan who tried to absorb the impact and come back fighting. Richards tried and tried to make Callihan tap out to the ankle lock but after having no luck many times, he used his DR Driver to finally put away the New Horror for a three count.
After the bout, Richards tried to offer a handshake of respect to Callihan for a great match, but a bitter Callihan would only spit in his face before leaving the ring. The show cuts to the backstage where Richie Steamboat is stretching for his match against Mike Elgin, when Adam Pearce comes into the shot looking at Steamboat with disgust. “You know you’re only getting this shot because of who your daddy is.” Pearce walks off as Steamboat looks completely pissed at the comment.
3RW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
“Unbreakable” Mike Elgin w/ Elwood Gately def. Richie Steamboat
Steamboat looked so focused as he took on the powerhouse Mike Elgin. Richie fought with a lot of heart but Elgin is just so powerful. Richie tried for a springboard crossbody but ended up getting caught in a bearhug by Elgin. “Unbreakable” tried to squeeze the life out of the challenger but Steamboat was able to fight out of the hold by swinging away at the head of Elgin, stunning the beast and following up with a trifecta of deep armdrags followed up a big time dropkick sending Elgin to the outside. Richie took a bit to much time climbing to the top and when he came off the top with an axe handle, Elgin would catch and hot shot him against the guard rail. Elgin would roll Steamboat in the ring for a long two count but Richie still had enough fight in him to keep coming at the TV champion. Elgin was a bit stunned by the fight in Steamboat, but Elgin continued to press his power advantage hitting a running powerbomb to the turnbuckles on Steamboat who ended up being folded up like a matchbook. Elwood demanded that Elgin finish him off and Mike Elgin did so planting Steamboat in the middle of the ring with a sit down gutwrench powerbomb to retain the TV title.
