Just a quick show to try out some pairings, and get a feel for what I want to do with Hybrid Pro in its new form.
NWA Hybrid Pro House Show Report: 14/02/2014

I attended the Hybrid Pro house show this evening at the Rahway Rec Center. While a fairly low key affair, it was a fun event overall, with some interesting matchups that may show what the future of Hybrid Pro is in its new era.
The Pistols (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett and Tommaso Ciampa) def Chris Dickinson, Jaka and Shane Hollister. Great choice for an opener, as The Pistols gave their just as youthful opponents a lot here to introduce them to the fans. Jaka was the standout, the guy looked great in there and his savage character is very unique compared to what we have seen in Hybrid Pro in the past. Taven would score the pin to continue to build his momentum, pinning Hollister after the Taven Effect.
The Unbreakable FN Machines def Biff Busick and Drew Gulak, who still don't have a team name. Elgin and Cage are both awesome in person, they hit so hard and dished out quite a beating here. Busick and Gulak show promise though, they got more offense that you'd expect. Cage would pin Busick after Weapon X.
Kyle Matthews def Caleb Konley in what was largely a showcase for Matthews, where he got in all his signature spots and looked good in the process. Matthews won in a little over 5 minutes by submission to the Hidaka Lock. Matthews said post match that he and Alberto Del Rio would be "the most hybrid pairing the NWA has ever seen"
Sean Waltman def "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush. A nice surprise this one, both men are veterans yet looked as good as they ever have, with Waltman in particular rolling back the years with a stellar performance. Waltman would lock the Buzzkill to make Quackenbush tap out.
Post match Quackenbush said that while he might have lost, the Chikarmy will take over Hybrid Pro and prove itself as a true force in the NWA. Interesting stuff. Waltman also spoke post match, saying he'd have a major announcement about his career on Hybrid Pro TV next week and told fans to be ready for "one last run",
Kevin Nash squashed local talent Archadia in what Nash called his "vanilla midget" challenge. Continuing his recent return to the ring in Windy City, Nash gave someone an opportunity in the ring with him, with Archadia accepting the challenge of "Big Daddy Cool". Nash just laughed at him, booted him in the face and asked us fans "who is this midget". Nash pulled out all his signature moves, before raising the arm and dropping Archadia with a Jacknife to end this mercifully. Not sure if this was just for the local crowd or if Nash will be making more appearances in Hybrid Pro, but it was entertaining enough.
Johnny Gargano def Chuck Taylor and Kyle O'Reilly in a 3 way dance. As you would expect Gargano and O'Reilly teamed up on Taylor early on, looking to get some revenge on the man who betrayed them both to side with Adam Cole. Gargano and O'Reilly only co-existed for so long though, competitive spirit getting the better of them, also allowing Taylor back into it. Gargano however would pin Taylor after a Hurts Donut.
In our main event, Samoa Joe defeated the current NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan in a fantastic matchup, another classic between two of the best in the world. Joe pinned Bryan when he lifted Bryan up out of the Yes Lock, dropping him with a Muscle Buster that got him the 3 count.
Post match Bryan and Joe shook hands to a rousing ovation from the fans. Bryan and Joe then signed autographs in the ring for the fans, with Joe also announcing that he would be taking a protégé under his wing, saying he wanted to show a young wrestler just how to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title, so that they could do the very same thing someday. After getting my autographs from both (free of charge to everyone I might add), I left, with everyone buzzing about what Hybrid Pro TV will be like next week. Definitely go to a Hybrid Pro house show if there's one in your area, you will not be disappointed.
