NWA UK Riot 11/3/14 Show!

The show opens with Dave Bradshaw and Darren Burridge running down tonights show, with two matches that will help shape the NWA World Title tournament, with the Tv title being in the main event as the champion CJ Banks takes on the fan favorite Noam Dar.

SINGLES BOUT
El Ligero vs. Tommy End

This opening contest was a fast paced affair with both men pulling off a great sequence of chain wrestling int he opening moments of the match up. Ligero had the crowd on his side as they cheered "Arriba!" whenever he bested End, but Tommy didn't seem to let the crowd get to him too much. Tommy nearly kicked Ligero's head into the second row but somehow it wasn't enough to get the victory. Ligero was able to hit a leaping tornado DDT to put End down for a three after a great contest that displayed great X division talent.

TAG TEAM BOUT
The Leaders of the New School(Marty Scurll & Zack Sabre Jr.) vs. Sinister Rampage(Rampage Brown & Kenneth Cameron)

The New School have been having a hard time as of late with the influx of a lot of talented teams. This new pairing of Rampage Brown and Kenneth Cameron is lethal with a fast paced cut throat mentality. The quick tags and high octane power kept the New School on their toes and in the end Zack fell victim to a Total Elimination, allowing the Rampage to continue.

NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT BOUT
Magnus vs. UHAA Nation

"The one man nation" is making his debut in NWA UK, and he started off the match with a bang! Nation not only wanted to advance in the tournament but he also wanted to show the UK faithful what NWA South Beach has known for awhile: UHAA Nation is a future star. The power and agility of UHAA is unnatural and a sight to behold as he press slammed the hitman of NWA UK before hitting a standing moonsault for a near fall. Magnus is tough and he was able to survive the onslaught and come back strong using an eye gouge to derail the Nation which lead to Magnus using a swinging reverse neckbreaker to advance in the tournament!

TAG TEAM TITLE BOUT
Danny Burch & Sheamus vs. Redman & Rees

Redman & Rees are as effective as Rocksteady and Bebop in the old Ninja Turtle Cartoons, they were dangerous but now they're more of a comedy relief. Burch and Sheamus had this match well in hand when the projector kicked on and the scene of Lionheart crumpled up in his locker room covered in his own blood stopped Burch and Sheamus cold. Redman and Rees would capitalize and pick up the win.

NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT BOUT
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Wade Barrett

Barrett has been spending a lot of time in NWA UK and it's been good for him so far, but Nakamura looked to end the good fortune of Barrett. This was an absolute battle as Nakamura laid into Barrett, but the former bare knuckle boxer would give as good as he was getting in a match that had the crowd going crazy. You could literally see the sweat fly as these two guys beat the hell out of each other one shot from Nakamura would bust the lip of Barrett who responded with a knock out punch that almost got the job done! Nakamura would come back and try to catch Barrett with a Boma Ye but Barrett would block the kick and grab the leg of Nakamura blasting him with another shot to the chin this hit would soften up Shinsuke for a wasteland slam giving the bloodied Barrett the hard fought advance.

NWA UK TV TITLE BOUT
"The Icon" Noam Dar vs. CJ Banks(c) w/ Prince Nana & Mia Yim

This match had big fight feel as Dar looked to get his first championship win here in NWA UK. Banks has gained so much confidence since joining the Embassy as well as becoming the NWA UK Tv champion. The opening was great wrestling with Dar slapping Banks in the face a few times making light of the champion who would answer with a huge elbow strike knocking Dar to a knee before Banks would try to work a knock out win with forearm and elbow strikes but Noam would get to the ropes saving himself from a hellish beating. Nana was laughing and clapping as his client was putting on a clinic against Dar who's really endeared himself to the fans, so much so that when he brought Banks down with a knee bar the crowd went nuts begging for Banks to submit, but CJ was to close the ropes and broke the hold. The match continued and eventually Banks scored with the running double knee to the head Dar to retain his TV title capping off a huge night of action!

I like Ligero going over in the opener, though I'm hoping this lights a fire under Tommy End to get more aggressive. You're having a pretty good run of making up tag teams here in the UK, as I'm really liking Sinister Rampage. The Nakamura/Barrett sounds like it would have been amazing, and congrats to both Barrett and Magnus for advancing. Ah, man, I really liked that main event and I think the right man went over, as I love the Banks push, but I hope Dar can bounce back as he's taken some tough losses here in recent memory.

I coldn't be more happy to see two Brits making it to the next round, Barrett and Magnus have to be considered big dark horses for the tournament and a UK World champ would be something I'd like to see. Dar came close to a massive win in that main event, I'd like to have seen it but Banks retains which I'm fine with. Good action throughout the card and an overall solid effort here.

Solid card man. Loved how you put Uhaa over but the better man won this one. Uhaa will have his time I'm sure. you're building nicely to Uncivil. Can't wait for it.

Still find myself pulling for Dar... Great Tournament matches and the Nakamura/Barrett match sounded like a war and I appreciate that. Ligero's win was great and I like the push you are giving Sinister Rampage as the New School are no slouch.
