Southern Heavyweight champion: Marcus Anthony
Southern Tag Team champions: Mohammad Ali Vaez & Michael Hayes
TV champion: VACANT
Women's champion: Heidi Lovelace
Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, and Michael Titus welcome viewers to the show. Big going on's here last week with Smooth Johnny Spade surrendering the TV Title to free him from the obligations put forward by Timmy Danger, and it is now set for May 3 at the next Saturday Night Special, with Spade challenging Marcus Anthony for the Southern Title in 1 of the more eagerly anticipated matches in Kentuckiana in some time. Gilbert says that if fans are wondering what that means for the TV Title, a single elimination tournament has been announced by Danny Davis and will start tonight here on TV with the first round. A look at the bracketing follows ...
Opening Round | Second Round |
Chris Silvio -------------------------------- Mystery Opponent
Ryan Howe -------------------------------- Elvis Pridemoore
Trina -------------------------------- The Body Guy
Michael Hayes -------------------------------- Mohammad Ali Vaez
Eddie Diamond -------------------------------- Raul Lamotta
Stephon J Baxter III -------------------------------- Dylan Bostic |
A quick look reveals some interesting pairing with Trina having entered herself into the tournament, and tonight The Body Guy will have to put up or shut up after challenging Ray Lynn last week on TV. Also of note is Chris Silvio getting a bye into the second round after not getting his chance last week, and he will face a mystery opponent. Perhaps the biggest news is Southern Tag Team champions Mohammad Ali Vaez and Michael Hayes being given byes into the second round, but being paired up against each other?!? In addition to the first round, tonight, Jamin Olivencia calls out The Pope Elijah Burke and we could very well see them go at it before the night is over. Right now though, up to the ring for the opening match ...
Match #1
Ryan Howe defeats Elvis Pridemoore @ 4:48 via pinfall after the Chart Topper, a blockbuster DDT from the top rope. The Rockstar advances in the TV Title tournament with this opening round win over Pridemoore, and the commentators mention that after last week, he probably hopes that he will get The Body Guy in the second round, but on the flip side, Dean can't help but think Howe would love to see The Body Guy put in his place by a woman. Titus feels that Trina should not even be allowed in the tournament and her presence is a sign of disrespect to wrestling, a sport of men. Dean says this is progression, and just like Chyna broke down barriers in the big time some 15 years ago, Trina will do the same tonight as she looks to become the first ever female to hold the TV Title.

Match #2
Dylan Bostic defeats Stephon J Baxter III @ 5:23 via pinfall after a top rope flying elbow smash. The Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling advances onwards in the TV Title tournament, barely surviving Baxter. The Einstein of OVW went for the Rumper Stumper, but Bostic was able to stop short and instead hit a reverse neckbreaker when Baxter landed on his feet without contact after jumping. Bostic faces the winner of Eddie Diamond vs Raul Lamotta, but he does not look to be finished yet as he puts the boots to Baxter after the match. Paredyse runs out and makes the save, sending Bostic out to the floor after a couple of right hands and a dropkick. With Bostic gone, Paredyse helps Baxter up and says again what he said last week, that he wants to turn Baxter from geek to chic with a makeover. Baxter is reluctant, but the fans seem into the idea and he goes along with it. The commentators wonder if Baxter realizes what he has gotten himself into with this.

Before the next match, footage of a sit down interview with Smooth Johnny Spade airs. The question is how Spade intends to overcome Marcus Anthony on May 3 at the Saturday Night Special, something nobody has yet been able to do. Spade's answer is that he knows how Anthony operates like nobody else before him, because he has stood in his corner and not only tagged with him, but watched him work. He knows his strengths and his weaknesses, and the biggest of all is the man that stands by him, Timmy Danger. Anthony is good enough on his own, but as long as Danger is there, there will always be that opening for defeat. Spade knows it because he had it himself until last week, and in 2 weeks time, everybody will see when he wins the Southern Title.
Match #3
Eddie Diamond defeats Raul Lamotta @ 5:50 via submission with the Cripwalk Crossface. EFD moves on to the second round where he will meet Dylan Bostic, following this hard fought victory over The Rudo of OVW. The commentators spend the match analyzing the comments of Smooth Johnny Spade with Titus feeling that he does not realize what he is up against because Marcus Anthony is not just any opponent, but THE opponent and nobody can stop him. Dean feels that if anybody can, it's Spade and the superkick because it stopped Anthony 2 weeks ago at the Saturday Night Special and put him down for the count. Titus argues that is completely different because tag team wrestling is not singles. Gilbert tells us that up next, comments from Marcus Anthony.
-- Third commercial break --
Before the next match, footage of a sit down interview with Marcus Anthony airs. The question is how Anthony intends to successfully retain his title on May 3 at the Saturday Night Special. The camera however pans back to show Timmy Danger seated there as well as he answers. He says that the question is ridiculous because so far nobody has been able to overcome Anthony in the ring, and John Spade is no better than the rest. He was only good because Danger made him good. The point gets brought up that Spade was Southern champion before, and without Danger in his corner. Danger barks back that was then and this is now, saying he is the A Rod of OVW. Once a great athlete, but in recent years, needed the support of a Yankee lineup to even pretend he was still worth $25 million. And now where is he? At home and alone because he made a bad decision, just like Spade made a bad decision and will end up a defeated man on May 3.
Match #4
The Body Guy defeats Trina @ 5:12 via pinfall with a rollup in the corner thanks to a distraction from The Mean Girls. Body Guy barely survives the challenge of Trina here, but does so and advances to the second round to face off against Rockstar Ryan Howe. Trina dominated the match, with Titus saying it was only because The Body Guy was too much of a gentlemen to hit a woman. A theory that was disproven quite readily when he had the opportunity and Titus shouted for him to finish her off. Body Guy would win through cheating, something Dean thinks just shows how low this man will stoop to. Taeler Hendrix and Nikki St. John would create a distraction, allowing Serena to emerge and spear Trina behind the referee's back, giving Body Guy the very unmanly victory. The second round to take place next week sees Howe vs Body Guy and Chris Silvio vs a mystery opponent, and on the other bracket, Eddie Diamond vs Dylan Bostic and Mohammad Ali Vaez vs Michael Hayes, with the semi finals the week after on TV, and the finals going down on May 3 at the next Saturday Night Special.
-- Fourth commercial break --
Backstage and the New Marauders Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion are talking about this TV Title tournament and wondering why Mohammad Ali Vaez & Michael Hayes were given byes into the second round when there was perfectly suitable competition in them that Stallion thinks they could never have defeated otherwise. Shiloh says that is ok because in the big picture, they have to face each other with will just create tension between them, and allow the new Marauders to walk in take the Southern Tag Team Titles "like taking candy from a baby." Stallion then cryptically asks what "he" thinks about this, as Shiloh says not to worry because their benefactor is watching everything unfold and is confident that this will play perfectly into their plan. The first mention of the 2 having a mystery benefactor to their team.
Elsewhere backstage, Women's champion Heidi Lovelace is talking with Jessie Belle about the performance of Trina in the TV Title tournament. They both agree that was a big step forward for women in OVW, and while the Mean Girls may have tried to ruin it, Trina just competing opened doors for them all. Just then, the Pastor of Disaster, the Reverend Stuart Miles comes up and interrupts them. He tells them that they are both sinners because the bible says that all men are created equally, but that all women are subservient. For Trina to try and open doors is blasphemous and as far as he is concerned, women don't even belong in the ring, they belong in the convent where they should become nuns instead of wearing skimpy clothes. But that is ok, because the cleansing is coming and all of the sins by them and all the people in Kentuckiana will be repented for when the Pastor of Disaster enters the ring and defeats every last wrestler to do the Lord's work.
Elsewhere backstage, the Psychadelic Superstar Chris Silvio and his manager Mo Green are talking with Mohammad Ali Vaez & Michael Hayes. Silvio tells them that he is glad this tournament was made because he would not have wanted to win the TV Title on a forfeit anyway. He intends to go through everybody and prove that he is a deserving champion, starting next week with whoever his mystery opponent is. Green says that it could be worse and he would not want to be in the shoes of Hayes or Vaez, having to face each other. Vaez says that the 2 of them understand this is about competition, and whoever comes out on top, they will be in each others corner for the duration of this tournament. Hayes says that he knows both of them have what it takes because the champions they beat were the Southern champion and the TV champion combined, so they know they can get the job done. They wish each other luck and shake hands as only 1 of them can advance next week.

Jamin Olivencia hits the ring!
Back from break and out comes Jamin Olivencia. It was just 2 weeks ago that he was robbed of the Southern championship by the interference of The Pope Elijah Burke, and tonight he is here to call out Burke and settle this in the ring. Titus thinks it's questionable whether or not Olivencia would have actually won, but Dean feels he was on his way to regaining the title and if not for Burke, he would be the champion today. Jamin says that he doesn't have all day as he waits for Burke and if he won't come out here, he'll go to the back and find him. As he readies to exit the ring, the music hits and out comes Burke. Jamin steps back and challenges him to get in the ring now, but Burke wants the mic so that he can speak instead. Burke says that he understands Olivencia's frustration because it is the same frustration he had when he returned and Jamin was handed a title shot without doing anything, while he had to start at the bottom and work his way back up, and Pope don't play that way. Burke adds that he was winning the Southern Title while Jamin was just some nobody in training camp, and the only reason he ever got an opportunity here in OVW is because Burke himself went on to do greater things, things that Jamin has never done. Jamin has never been in a Wrestlemania, Burke has! Jamin has never challenged for a World championship, Burke has! So how is it then that when they both come back, it is Jamin Olivencia getting the first crack ahead of him at the gold here? No, that's not how it works and if Jamin wants a chance, he'll have to go through Pope first because Pope is pimping, and there ain't a thing that Jamin or anybody in the back can do about that. Jamin answers back that if he is finished, then by all means, come into the ring right now and he'll go through him tonight and show him that he deserves to be Southern champion and exactly why he got a shot ahead of him. Burke teases going in, but says that last he checked, Jamin lost at the Saturday Night Special and Burke doesn't waste his time with losers. If Jamin wants a match with him, now HE will have to win some matches first because there's a long line to get a shot at The Pope. Just then though ...
... Danny Davis is out! The match maker has been busy in recent weeks and says for The Pope to shut his yapper for 5 seconds because he has something to say right now. Davis says that if Burke wants to know why Jamin Olivencia got a title shot ahead of him, it has nothing to do with who's better, who's this, who's that, but plain and simply Jamin never got a rematch after losing the title. It's as clear as that. As for Burke deeming himself above the competition here, Davis has a solution to that because the way he sees it, the playing field has been leveled around here. Johnny Spade against Marcus Anthony on May 3 for the Southern Title, but after that, there is no reason for Burke or Olivencia to be ahead of the other. So on May 3 at the Saturday Night Special, it will be Jamin Olivencia going 1 on 1 with Elijah Burke in a #1 contenders match, but that's not all. That's about the future, but Davis also wants to address the past, and the past is that Burke cost Jamin a chance to be Southern champion and where he comes from, that calls for revenge in the ring. So on May 3 it's 1 on 1 for a shot at the title, but next week here on TV, it's 1 on 1, just a fight. Unsanctioned, no rules, and it opens the show. And if Pope wants to run, if he wants to forfeit again, then he's free to do so, but that means he also forfeits May 3 and Jamin gets the next opportunity at the winner of Spade vs Anthony. The fans cheer as Pope is beside himself. He tells Davis that is fine by him and out of anger says they don't have to wait until next week because he'll do it right now!
Fans cheer as Burke gets up onto the apron, but Jamin greets him with a right hand. He then slingshots Burke into the ring. Burke gets up and takes a few big rights before Jamin Irish whips him into the ropes, he winds up, but Burke grabs a hold of the ropes, hangs on and instead exits the ring. Dean stands at the commentary and says to put his money where his mouth is and get back in there! Pope just backs down, but next week he'll have no choice. Jamin Olivencia vs Elijah Burke on May 3 at the next SNS, winner is the #1 contender to the Southern Title. Not only that, but next week, unsanctioned, no rules, it's 1 on 1 in a fight as Danny Davis gives Olivencia a chance at revenge for Burke costing him the title match at the last SNS. That, plus the second round of the TV Title tournament. Next week!
