Windy City Spring Stampede Countdown Special
Where: Chicago TV Studios
When: Wednesday 30th April, 2014
Attendance: About 300 fans (free entry)
On Wednesday night Windy City aired a special Spring Stampede Countdown special on local TV and the NWA Network. The show was pre-recorded and featured a select few matches and various video packages to hype the NWA iPPV "Spring Stampede" and other Windy City angles and storylines.
It's announced we will see Mark Jindrak taking on the Windy City Champion Chris Masters in the show's main-event in a non-title match. Jindrak fresh off a hugely successfuly stint in Mexico where he was a huge star is now making big waves north of the border and is going to be featured on the NWA iPPV in an NWA North American Heavyweight Title opportunity against Harry Smith of CPW - while Masters after retaining the title against Daniel Puder under controversial circumstances will be defending the title against him again in a Lions Den Match at Spring Stampede. So this is a big time main-event for the TV Special.
1. Sean Waltman defeats Rockstar Spud with the X-Factor in 5:25 in a solid, fast paced opener. Waltman in his debut match for WCPW since his transfer over from Hybrid Pro is on a year long crusade to finally win a big championship before he retires.
After the match Sean got on the mic and told everyone he's not "the Kid" anymore, and will soon be "The Man" and promised the fans that he is more determined than ever to reach his goal.
*Videos play of Crash Test Dummy's shock 'win' over "Big Daddy Cool" Kevin Nash at NWA Windy City Uncensored. The video screen fades in to Crash Test Dummy in full morph suit sat at the head of a big long oak table, complete with full conan the barbarian clobber on top of his morph body suit and a home made crown made out of a traffic cone ontop of his head. Crash says that now that he is the King of Windy City, the Giant slayer. What he says must be adhered too. We fade out a see a series of skinny local talent and some known jobbers sat at his table. All the jobbers start cheering Crash Test Dummy and paying homeage to him. Until CTD raises his bandaged arm and brings an instant silence to the room. Crash whispers that he will reign over his Kingdom starting on the next Fight Night. And if Kevin Nash still has some unfound vendetta against him. Then well, Crash Test Dummy will have to conquer him, again, and instill some respect!*
2. Jack Swagger defeats "Shooting Star" Kris Travis via countout in 4:29.
Swagger goes to 4-0 against the upstart Travis who still won't quit in his campaign to prove himself against the veteran Swagger. Travis got the better of the match again, but Swagger used his experience and took the match outside and with Travis chasing him around slid back into the ring, and Travis was counted out. A rookie mistake. But I don't think this is the last of Kris Travis that Jack Swagger will see.
3. The Only Way is Beards (Mike Knox & Tyson T-Bone) w/Jimmy Hart [NWA Windy City Tag Champs] go to a No-Contest with Gaydar ("Rock Hard" Dick Ryder & Jeffery "Ohh-La-La" Flockhart) in 2:29 when THE USOS interfered in the match and took out both teams, hitting splashes from the top of both T-Bone and Flockhart.
*Back-2-Back promos play from both "I Am" Dave Rayne and Carlito.
Dave Rayne says that when Carlito stole his Cyber TV Title at Uncensored...he corrected himself John Doe's Cyber TV Title at Uncensored...he broke a gentleman's agreement and breaking a gentleman's agreement is only something a little runt, a little backstabber...would do. Dave Rayne would never break a gentleman's agreement because he is a real gent - but he should have known better. He could have beaten Rey Mysterio better than Carlito ever did, he didn't need Carlito really, it was good money after bad...and now that Carlito has done the dirty on him Dave Rayne would collect back on Carlito with added interest, because He Is...Dave Rayne.
Carlito's promo says that Dave Rayne's only mistake was to trust someone like Carlito, because he makes no qualms about what or who he is. At this stage of his career Carlito says he will do anything to get ahead. He will lie, he will cheat and he will definately steal as someone great once said. Finally he is ahead in the pecking order of broken down has-been's like Rey Mysterio and after beating him at Uncensored he's not sure if Mysterio will ever be able to leave the hospital again. Carlito says stealing the Cyber TV Title was cool, and he would continue to be cool and not give a flying chewed up apple what Dave Rayne thinks about his manners because posession is 9, 10ths of the law and he has posession of the Cyber TV Title, which makes him the champion in his eyes, which is...cool*
4. Mark Jindrak defeats "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters [NWA Windy City Champion) in 8:39 in a non-title match by pinfall after DANIEL PUDER snuck in the ring behind the ref's back and decked Masters in the face with a pair of brass-knuckles...payback for Uncensored. With the ref unawares, Jindrak quickly made the cover over a busted open Masters and took the shock win over the champ.
As Jindrak left the ring, Puder slapped on an Arm-Bar on Masters and held it on solid-tight for several long moments before releasing as a pile of ref's hurried into the ring.
Show finishes with a smirking Daniel Puder slowly leaving through the crowd, licking the apparent blood off his brass knuckles and motioning to Masters arm, pointing and mocking his injured arm.
The commentators close the show by stating that with an injured arm and possibly a concussion Chris Masters will be up against all odds in his title defence against Daniel Puder at Spring Stampede.
