TV champion: Chris Silvio
Women's champion: Heidi Lovelace
Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, and Michael Titus welcome viewers to the show. Tonight is the night, 3 way dance as Marcus Anthony defends the Southern Title against Jamin Olivencia and Elijah Burke. Anthony has been dominant as champion, but that could all come to an end tonight as he enters uncharted waters having to fend off not 1, but 2 challengers here tonight. Also, a match so dangerous it is being held for the first time in 4 years and only the second time in OVW history, Rudy Switchblade vs Mike Mondo in the Mexican Death Rope match. Mondo tried to end Switchblade's career 2 months ago, endured a month long suspension before Switchblade made the challenge, and the contract is signed and sealed, and tonight the match will be delivered. Without further ado though, down to the ring to kick off the action with 8 big matches set for tonight. Let's go to the ring ...
Match #1
Rev. Stuart Miles defeats Stephon J Baxter III @ 5:37 via a rollup and grabbing the ropes for leverage. Initially, Steven Smith, Baxter's more suave alter ego was in the match and fairing poorly. Seconded by Paredyse, he was handed the nerd glasses and suddenly began a comeback with the Reverend's offense rendered null. Baxter came close to the win as he hit Miles with the Rumper Stumper, but the force sent Miles too close to the ropes where he grabbed hold of the bottom rope to avoid the 3. Miles then begged off as Michael Titus wondered what kind of man Baxter was to hit a man of the cloth. Dean was exasperated by that and said that Miles may be a Reverend, but he's also a grade A jerk. Just then Miles lured Baxter close enough to the ropes that he scooped out his legs and reached out to hang on to the ropes and keep Baxter down for a 3. Paredyse was quickly in to note what happened but Miles was outside. Gilbert gave a pass to new referee Jordan Barker on that, while Dean said that hopefully Barker didn't go to the Josh Ashcraft school of refereeing, refering to his tendency to favor the heels.
Match #2
Dylan Bostic defeats Eddie Diamond @ 6:52 via a double springboard moonsault. The Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling puts on a great showing here against EFD, proving his worth as a top contender to the TV Title, and likely putting him in line for a shot at whoever comes out on top later between current champion Chris Silvio and challenger Ryan Howe. Bostic was accompanied by recent valet acquisition Ray Lynn, and she proved her worth by distracting EFD at opportune moments to keep him from building too much momentum. After the match Bostic took a mic to address the fans here at the Davis Arena and told them all that he is the real rock star of OVW, not Howe, and he would make sure that nobody except him takes the gold off of Silvio. We may have not seen the last of Bostic here tonight.
Match #3
Rob Terry defeats The Body Guy, Nick Dumeyer & Elvis Pridemoore in a 3 on 1 handicap match @ 4:15 via pinfall on Body Guy after a Thrust Spinebuster. Dominant performance put on by The Freak as The Body Guy comes out and says that Terry may have beat him, but to make things fair, this time he had back up and brought out The Ghetto Boys. Needless to say, this made next to no difference as Terry took care of Pridemoore and Dumeyer, leaving things between him and The Body Guy before putting him away. Terry then picked up Body Guy into a military press and threw him over the top rope onto Pridemoore and Dumeyer. After a recent stare down with champion Marcus Anthony, could Terry be looking at a future shot at the Southern championship if his former tag team partner in The Furions comes out on top here tonight?
Match #4
Women's champion Heidi Lovelace & The Blossom Twins defeat Taeler Hendrix, Nikki St. John & Scarlett Bordeaux @ 5:27 when Heidi pinned Nikki after a Shining Wizard. The Women's champion's surprise partners ended up being the returning fan favorites The Blossom Twins, returning from the UK. The twins had not lost a step against The Mean Girls trio here. Taeler's quest for the Women's Title will have to continue with this loss, a loss she was quick to blame on her partners. The fans got on her case with 1 specific female fan getting in her face with a pro-Heidi Lovelace sign (savvy fans will recognize "the fan" as Annie Social). The 2 argued before Taeler left. Heidi & The Blossoms took in some cheers before leaving with a big return here tonight.
Match #5
TV champion Chris Silvio defeats Ryan Howe to retain the title @ 7:34 via pinfall with the Superman Punch after a distraction from Dylan Bostic on the outside. Silvio and Howe were having a technically sound match with Mo Green at ringside in Silvio's corner, when out came Bostic & Ray Lynn. This brought out Jessie Belle as the 2 women would continue their problems, serving as a distraction for the referee. This led to Bostic taking out Green and Silvio going to check on him. Bostic attempted jumping Howe, but he turned around in time to catch him and backed him up. Bostic was able to get to the ropes and escape, all the while Silvio got back in and when Howe turned around, he took advantage and decked him with his finisher. Dean thinks that the Rockstar got ripped off and if he were Bostic, he would be sleeping with 1 eye open tonight because both Silvio and especially Howe can't be pleased with his actions here.
Match #6
Tag Team champions Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion defeat The Mobile Homers to retain the titles @ 7:48 when Stallion pinned Adam Revolver after The French Connection running big boot to the face. Manager of the champion Bin Hamin provided a distraction when The Homers seemed to be on the verge of winning as he got into it with Brittany Devore leading to the arrival of Fabiano Rolento. Ted The Trailer McNaler went outside to make the save, but in the process allowed his partner to get double teamed and put away. In the post match Jonze, Stallion & Rolento took out The Homers 3 on 2, leaving Devore to fend for herself as Hamin said her thinking would be realigned to serve The Marauders cause. Rolento then exited, pulling her out of the ring. Carrying her over his shoulder with Hamin close behind, The Homers could do little with Jonze & Stallion keeping them back. First they take out Michael Hayes, then Mohammad Ali Vaez, and now it seems they have kidnapped Brittany Devore. Titus says she would look good in a burka as Dean says somebody needs to put a stop to this group as it is nothing more than an attempt at brainwashing.
Jay Bradley Open Challenge
The Ultimate Fighter Jay Bradley was out with cutman Mongo, ready for his open challenge tonight. After some punching into the hands of Mongo, Bradley took a mic and said that anybody with guts in the back, come out here and fight him right now. Nobody showed and Bradley added onto that, saying that he had to leave the UFC because all the fighters were afraid of him and now he may have to leave OVW too. Dean on commentary asked if that was a promise because he certainly would not mind that. Bradley then stepped out and said if nobody in the back would fight him, what about somebody out here. Titus quickly backed off telling Bradley he was the Ultimate Fighter while Gilbert said he wanted no part of that ring. Bradley told Dean Hill to man up and get in the ring to fight him. Dean said he was not a wrestler, but Bradley would not take no for an answer. After giving Dean a shove, the commentator stood up to a big pop from fans as Bradley got into the ring. Dean said he is not a wrestler, he is not fighting, this is out of line. Bradley said to ring the bell and forced referee Jordan Barker to count to 10, awarding himself a countout victory over "the coward" Dean Hill.
Match #7
Southern champion Marcus Anthony defeats Jamin Olivencia and Elijah Burke to retain the title @ 14:25 when Anthony pinned Burke after Olivencia had hit the O Drop on Burke, aided by a quick count from referee Josh Ashcraft. Anthony retains the title in this hard fought match that nearly saw the championship change on several occasions with near falls. The finish saw Anthony taken out of the action and leaving Olivencia to fight it out with Burke. Anthony's manager Timmy Danger tried bringing Anthony back into it as the 2 wrestlers traded near falls in a quick exchange. Olivencia would catch The Pimp in the O Drop, his jumping bodyscissors into a DDT. Before he could cover though, Danger was on the apron to distract him. This allowed Anthony to sneak back in and steal a 3 count before Olivencia could get over to break up the count thanks to the fast 3 count. Olivencia comes out on the losing end even though it was his offense that finished Burke off here. A big side story is Ashcraft's count, with his refereeing already under scrutiny and Dean wondering how much Danger paid him off to do that. Titus thinks it was a pretty average 3 count, slow if anything, frustrating Dean to ask what in the wide world of sports Titus is talking about and if that was a slow count to Titus, maybe that says something about his brain's processing speed.
The Main Event
Match #8
Rudy Switchblade defeats Mike Mondo in the Mexican Death Rope match @ 16:39 by climbing up a ladder and putting Mondo out in the noose. A brutal match that exceeded all expectations, featuring more weapons and more blood than the first Mexican Death Rope match some 4 years ago. Mondo introduced the ladder with Switchblade down and wrapped the noose around his neck, but as he climbed the ladder, Switchblade instead caught Mondo and tugged on the noose, pulling Mondo off the top. Switchblade then took the noose off and put it on Mondo. Switchblade climbed the ladder with Mondo on the other side and started putting on the pressure, choking Mondo out. When it became apparent that Mondo was out of it, referee Chris Sharpe called for the bell to give Switchblade the big win here tonight. Switchblade's return is a successful 1 as he ends the feud with Mondo in the ultimate grudge match here tonight at the Saturday Night Special. A stretcher was brought out for Mondo with the commentators speculating that we may have seen the last of him around here for a while with a loss like this. Switchblade on the other hand may have put himself into the discussion for a shot at championship gold in the very near future with this win.
