NWA New York TV 20/06/2014
Booker T is still missing after his sudden disappearance last week, as we see Inspector Truth scanning the arena for clues at the start of our show. Dave Prazak is joined by Commissioner Kane on commentary.
Prazak: Hello wrestling fans and welcome to NWA New York. I'm Dave Prazak, and with me at ringside is corporate commissioner Kane. How has your presidential campaign been going?
Kane: Its been going very well Prazak, the people would definitely support me through hellfire and brimstones.
Prazak: That's good to know Kane, I know who I'm voting for. Lets get to our 1st match.
Justin Gabriel vs Jimmy Yang
A grudge match here between the respective partner of Paul London and James Gibson, it was a good opener with some big moves that wowed the fans in attendance. Yang went for a Yang Time, but Paul London ran out and crotched Yang as Gabriel distracted the ref. Gabriel goes for a Reverse Hurricanrana off the top, but Yang held on and Gabriel crashes and burns on the canvas. Yang then nails the Yang Time for the 1-2-3!
Winner- Jimmy Yang
Paul London leaves shaking his head as Yang celebrates a big win.
"Mr Average" Joe Hennig vs Kazarian
"Average" Joe Hennig is an average performer in every way, so based on the law of averages he was able to get around 50% of the offence in this one, making this a solid if unspectacular debut contest (i.e. average). Hennig looked like he was going to just miss out on a debut win as Kazarian went for the Wave of the Future, but then the lights went out. There was a puff of smoke up on the ramp, and when the lights came back on Booker T is back! He looks really freaked out and is covered in spiders! Inspector Truth sees all the spiders and shouts "SPIDERS, I HATE SPIDERS!", running off along with Booker. All this chaos distracts Kazarian long enough for Hennig to hit the Average Plex to just get the 3 count.
Winner- Joe Hennig
Kazarian leaves shaking his head while Hennig celebrates. Hennig is about to leave, only for Mike Sanders to head for the ring. He takes a mic.
Sanders: Joe Hennig, as you will know I am a man who based his entire career on being "Above Average". You may not be the wrestler your father was, maybe you don't have the charisma or the star quality he did as an "Average Joe", but you do have a little thing called potential. I think with the right guidance, you to can be "Above Average". What do you say Joe, do you want to learn from an "Above Average" superstar?
Hennig contemplates this for a moment, then accepts the offer, as the two shake hands.
Prazak: Well this one is going to be an interesting partnership don't you think Kane?
Kane: If anybody else says average tonight I'm going to set them on fire!
The Hurricane heads for the ring, a stern look on his face.
Hurricane: You may be wondering where Gregory Helms is and why he isn't interviewing me tonight. Well Gregory is still in the hospital, on a life support system as he battle a villain far greater than any other: death himself. Gregory is a very close friend of mine, and Brodus, you crossed the line when you took him out of commission unprovoked in the way you did. if anybody can stop you Brodus its me, a superhero with vengeance on his mind. Get out here now and fight me man to man.
Brodus Clay is all too happy to head down and take Hurricane up on his challenge.
Prazak: Could The Hurricane have bitten off more than he can chew here Kane, I mean I know he wants revenge but there is a major size difference between the two.
Kane: I'm worried Dave, me and The Hurricane go way back, we were a tag team at one point and he's one of my closest supporters. Don't hold me back if things get rough and I have to go up there.
Prazak: I won't Kane, in fact I don't think I could even if I wanted to.
NWA New York Heavyweight Title Match
"Big Bad" Brodus Clay vs The Hurricane
The Hurricane went straight on the attack, but predictably absolutely nothing he did had any effect. He threw lefts and rights that Brodus no sold, then a charge off the rope was met with a Lariat that turned him inside out. Brodus threw Hurricane into the corner and went for a Splash Mountain, but Hurricane moved and Brodus squashed the ref in the process. Brodus grabbed Hurricane and tossed him across the ring with an Exploder Suplex, then went outside to grab a chair. At that point Kane tried to stop him, but Brodus forcefully grabbed the chair and shoved Kane away. He gets in the ring ready to hit Hurricane with it, BUT KANE GETS INTO THE RING! He grabs Brodus by the throat, and so does Hurricane. DOUBLE CHOKESLAM! Kane revives the ref and Hurricane covers Brodus, the crowd believe this is it! 1-2-2.999, SO CLOSE! Out of desperation, Hurricane goes up top, BUT BRODUS IS ALREADY TO HIS FEET! He grabs Hurricane by the throat, G-GRIP OFF THE TOP ROPE! 1-2-3, Brodus Clay retains, but that was a lot tougher than he was probably expecting.
Winner- Brodus Clay
Brodus isn't done, he once again grabs the chair as Kane rushes back into the ring. But Brodus spots him AND LEVELS HIM WITH A CHAIRSHOT, BUT KANE DOESN'T GO DOWN! He hits another one, AND KANE STILL DOESN'T GO DOWN! One more sickening shot bends the chair, and Kane finally falls to the canvas. Brodus grabs both Kane and Hurricane by the throat, DOUBLE G-GRIP! He puts them on top of each other, then places the chair over the top before climbing onto the ropes. BRODUS BOMB! Two more victims have fallen to Brodus Clay, as officials attend to both, carrying Hurricane out on a stretcher and helping Kane to the back.
Prazak: Well its looks like I'm without a broadcast partner yet again. Nobody's going to want to do this job if this keeps up. Best wishes to Kane and The Hurricane on their recovery, but who is going to stop Brodus Clay?
Colt Cabana comes out before our Tag Team Title Match, to reveal his tag partner.
Cabana: Now I suppose your all wondering who Colt Cabana chose to be his tag team partner. Well I decided that with fatass Hardy in the ring I would need someone special to help me overcome the fatness and win those tag belts baby. He is a great wrestler, full of charisma and one of the most hilarious men I've ever met. He is Santino!
Santino heads out, Cobra in hand and has something of his own to say.
Santino: Ah the Matthew Hardy. I remember the last time we wrestled many years ago, you nearly killed me with your weight and you nearly killed you with the diabetes. You are still one very rotund fellow, and this time the cobra will sting you!
Mattitude (Matt Hardy "Version 1.0" and "Number 1 MF'er" Shannon Moore) vs Priceless (Colt Cabana and Santino)
Matt fact of the day: Matt Hardy can rise above all hate. A pure comedy matchup for the most part, as Cabana and Santino spent much of this match mocking Hardy in the same way Cabana did last week to him and Chris Harris, pretending he was too heavy to lift. Hardy didn't take too kindly to this, getting aggressive and trying to take Cabana and Santino down any way he could, which only lead to Priceless playing it up even more and further getting on Hardy's nerves. Moore calmed Hardy down and helped them get back into this, and eventually they would retain the titles when Hardy hat the top rope Leg Drop on Santino (as per their last match strangely enough).
Winners- Mattitude
And as per the last Hardy/Santino match, Santino had to be helped to the back, this time by Cabana, continuing to mock Hardy by suggesting that the weight that came down on him from that Leg Drop caused him serious injuries.
Its time for Chris Harris and James Storm to go one on one. Chris Harris out first and is ready for this, but James Storm seems more apprehensive. He takes the mic.
Storm: Chris, listen, we don't have to do this. I'm sorry for making fun of you, it was all Colt's idea. We've known each other for years, it doesn't have to come to this after all we've been through as a team and as brothers in this business.
Harris: Yes it does James. You disrespected me and threw away years of friendship. You as much as anyone should know what I've had to suffer through over the past few years, you could have told Colt no, I won't do that to my friend. But you did it anyway, and for that you have to pay. Get ready for the beating of your life "Cowboy".
Grudge Match
"Cowboy" James Storm vs "Wildcat" Chris Harris
A very conflicting match here, Storm tried to keep this as a mat based affair and clean wrestling match, while Harris just wanted to beat Storm to a pulp and didn't care for the rules one bit. The more the match went on and the more Harris pummelled on Storm, the more angry Storm began to get, as he started to fire away on Harris just as much, and the match broke down into a crazy brawl. The referee lost control completely and declared this a no contest.
Winner- No Contest
The brawl continued post match, getting very out of control as officials rushed out to break this thing up. It was then announced that these two will do battle in a Street Fight next week on NWA New York TV to settle the score!
Non-Title Main Event Grudge Match
James Gibson vs "Super Heavyweight" Paul London
This could have been a match for the NWA New York Junior Heavyweight Title, but London didn't ant that match, as he feels he is above being a "Junior" and think he should only compete with heavyweights (hence his new nickname). This of course has led to this rivalry with James Gibson that has only grown more intense, and has led to this matchup. It was a great main event that lived up to its billing, but didn't end in the manner that we wanted to see. The referee took a knock in the corner, and Justin Gabriel ran out to help out London, as the two started beating down Gibson 2 on 1. Jimmy Yang then ran out for the save, going after Gabriel. But then Michael Shane and Spanky charged the ring, AND ATTACKED GIBSON, YANG AND GABRIEL! Shane superkicks Yang's head off, Spanky takes Gabriel out with Sliced Bread, then after a 3 on 1 beatdown London hits the Londons Calling as the ref comes around. 1-2-3, London wins!
Winner- Paul London
London, Shane and Spanky raise their arms in victory, declaring themselves the new Texus, and saying that your either Texus or your against us. What will Daniel Bryan think of this, he is a former member of the group after all in its first iteration?
Our show comes to an end with The Rock making his way out to a thunderous ovation. The fans chant "welcome back" and "Rocky" as he takes the mic.
Rock: FINALLY, THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO THE NWA AND NEW YORK CITY!
The get even more excited and chant "Rocky" some more.
Rock: Everybody knows that The Rock is the most electrifying man in sports and entertainment, the man who loves to entertain the millions (and million) of The Rock's fans every night. But when I look around the NWA I see so many more men who love to entertain the people, like Samoa Joe, CM Punk, Adam Cole, Harry Smith and Daniel Bryan to name a few. And it makes The Rock hungry, it makes The Rock want to step back between these ropes again. And maybe its time for that one final run!
The fan explode and chant "one more match".
Rock: Who said that The Rock was retired? The Rock has just been away for a while, taking a break, filming some movies. But for the past few months The Rock has been training night and day, eating the pie and the strudel, taking his vitamins and saying his prayers. And now The Rock is ready. And not just as some part timer, I'm back FULL TIME! IF YA SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKI.....
Before The Rock can finish, "Big Bad" Brodus Clay walks down to the ring to thunderous boos, and has his eyes set on The Rock.
Rock: Who do you think you are chubby, interrupting my catchphrases. Nobody interrupts The Rock.
Clay: I'm your worst nightmare Rocky.
Rock: Really? Your my worst nightmare fatty. Listen, The Rock gets more pie in a week than you eat in a lifetime!
The fans love that, but Brodus isn't phased.
Rock: I suggest you leave, before Rock send your fat ass straight to the Smackdown hotel!
Clay: I'm not going anywhere, but your going to A&E when I've done with you. Your my next victim Rocky, let's see if your as big as your words make you out to be.
Clay throws down the mic and charges for The Rock, who avoids it AND LAYS INTO BRODUS WITH LEFTS AND RIGHTS! But they have utterly zero effect! The Rock goes for the Rock Bottom, but Brodus shoves him into the ropes and Headbutts him down to the canvas. FALL OF HUMANITY! He picks The Rock back up, G-GRIP! Brodus goes out of the ring and grabs a chair, ready to do the same to The Rock as he did to Kane and The Hurricane earlier this evening.
Clay has Rock setup into position and he climbs onto the ropes, BUT MICHAEL ELGIN CHARGES FOR THE RING! ELGIN POWERBOMBS CLAY OFF THE ROPES ONTO THE CHAIR! Clay is down and Elgin goes for the Crossface, but Clay somehow throws him off AND GETS TO HIS FEET! Clay charges for Elgin but he moves out of the way, AND THE ROCK GRABS CLAY, ROCK BOTTOM! The Rock throws off the elbow pad and signal for the most electrifying move in sports and entertainment, The People's Elbow. HE NAILS IT!
Clay is out and The Rock and Michael Elgin share a nod of respect, before they both pose on opposing turnbuckles to end our show. See you next week folks
