Live from Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky on July 4, 2014
Southern Heavyweight champion: Marcus Anthony
Southern Tag Team champions: Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion
TV champion: Chris Silvio
Women's champion: Heidi Lovelace
Before the start of the show, Rockstar Ryan Howe entered the ring, electric guitar in hand. In honor of Independence Day, Howe riffed off a version of the Star Spangled Banner on the guitar and had the fans psyched up for a night of action.
Match #1
The Party Starter Bud Dwight defeats Deonta Davis @ 3:47 via pinfall with a schoolboy out of the corner when Dwight moved as Deonta charged into the corner. 2 debuts here for the recent school graduates, getting a quick match to begin the evening's festivities.
Match #2
Nick Dumeyer & Elvis Pridemoore defeat Aaron Sky & Robbie Walker @ 4:31 when Dumeyer pinned Walker after Pridemoore lifted Walker up and Dumeyer caught him falling back into a cutter to put the youngsters away. Another debut for Sky and Walker here, 2 more recent graduates of the school. The Ghetto Boys are able to pick up a rare win for themselves, but maybe the start of a turn around of fortunes for them.
Match #3
Rudy Switchblade defeats Dylan Bostic @ 8:54 via submission with The Boston Crab. A much harder fought match here between 2 of the more upper echelon talents in Ohio Valley with Switchblade challenging for the Southern Title and Bostic challenging for the TV Title the following day at the Saturday Night Special. Bostic came close on a couple of occasions, but Switchblade proved to be too much as he continues his streak of big victories.
Match #4
Rob Terry defeats The Body Guard via DQ in an Arm Wrestling contest when The Body Guy interfered. After some early stalling, they finally lock hands and Terry seems to be on the verge of winning when The Body Guy throws powder to Terry's eyes and the exhibtion is stopped. The Body Guy and his Body Guard quickly start stomping on Terry after flipping the table out of the way. The Body Guard then lifts Terry up and drops him down with a forward slam. They have Terry in a 2 on 1 handicap match at the SNS, and it would seem here tonight that they have got themselves a possible psychological advantage in addition to the physical advantage ... that, or they just pissed Terry off.
Match #5
Jessie Belle defeats Ray Lynn in an Evening Gown match @ 4:26 by ripping off her evening gown. This TV rematch from the June 28 show, this time without Mo Green as referee, sees Jessie Belle win and maybe put an end to this feud. Lynn did not seem to care about the loss and started dancing in the post match, doing her usual twerking routine. Not to be upstaged, Belle voluntarily removed her evening gown to try and steal back the pop from the crowd. Win or lose in the ring, 1 could argue that the fans are the real winners with this match.
Match #6
Mr. Media Cliff Compton defeats Raul Lamotta @ 5:08 via pinfall after The Media Blitz, a sitout scoop slam piledriver. The fans are psyched in this match as Mr. Media makes his long anticipated return to the ring in Ohio Valley with a win over Rudo Raul Lamotta. A lot of showboating and playing to the fans extend the time of this match that Compton easily controls. After the match, Compton takes the mic to address the fans. He thanks them all for coming out tonight and tells them to keep supporting OVW. As for when he will show up next, just keep watching because you never know what time is Mr. Media time.
After the match, a return date for Kentucky Kingdom is announced for Friday night July 25. The night will feature the recently returned Blossom Twins in tag team action, plus after what was seen earlier, Rob Terry will battle The Body Guard in a Stretcher match. But as for the main event, for the first time in years, back together in the ring, the biggest reunion in Ohio Valley history as Nick Dinsmore & Rob Conway take to the ring as a tag team 1 more and possibly 1 final time here at Kentucky Kingdom as The Lords of The Ring are together again. The fans are buzzing at that announcement as we may see record attendance on July 25.
The Main Event
Match #7
Southern champion Marcus Anthony defeats TV champion Chris Silvio @ 9:25 via submission with the Crimson Omen, his dreaded full nelson. A rare champion vs champion headlines the night with neither title at stake. A close call for Silvio as he hits the Rocket Punch on Anthony and knocks him down, but the Southern champion manages to get his foot on the bottom rope as manager Timmy Danger is quick to alert to the referee. The finishing sequences sees Danger attack Silvio's manager Mo Green on the outside and allow for the TV champion to get distracted and Anthony to make the big comeback. After the match, Timmy Danger gloated a little too long as Anthony had left, only to have Silvio & Green get some revenge on him. Danger tried leaving, but Silvio chased him around ringside and back into the ring where Danger thought he had outsmarted Silvio. But alas, he would turn around to see Green waiting there. Rolling up his sleeves, Green wanted to go and the fans wanted to see it, but Danger was far from worried here at the threat from the 1 time butler of Ernest Miller on Smackdown. Danger charged Green, who side stepped the manager to run him into the ropes. Danger went for a clothesline but Green ducked and Danger ran head on into the Rocket Punch from Silvio, getting knocked into next week as the show comes to a close with a successful return by Ohio Valley to Kentucky Kingdom.
