#1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT FOR THE OVERDRIVE X DIVISION TITLE
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Matt Tremont defeats Devon Moore and Alex Colon. "The Scumbag" Devon Moore had Tremont laid out on a table and was looking to put him through it, but "The Bulldozer" would pull himself up and catch Moore up top, sending him off the top and through the table with an Exploder Suplex to earn him a three count and an advancement.
#1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT FOR THE OVERDRIVE X DIVISION TITLE
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Masada defeats John Silver and Dustin Rayz. John Silver would think he had Dustin Rayz beat in the center of the ring, but Masada came off the top with a Moonsault to break it up. From there, Masada delivers a Tombstone Piledriver to Silver right on top of Rayz' chest, crushing Rayz and putting Silver out long enough for Masada to get the three and advance to the finals of the tournament to be concluded at "Summer Reign".
TAG TEAM MATCH
B-Boy & Homicide defeats Dave Crist & Jake Crist w/ Nevaeh. "The Strong Style Thugs" reunite here to big fan fare, and they were on fire against the super talented Crist brothers, who were accompanied tonight by fellow Ohioan Nevaeh. This match was to decide who would face the winner of the Briscoes and Cage & Konley later in the night, and B-Boy and Homicide sealed that by hitting a Wheelbarrow/Cutter combination on Dave Crist to get the pinfall victory.
SINGLES MATCH
Chris Dickinson defeats AR Fox. AR Fox is no slouch and always gives his all, but the "Whole Foxin' Show" was just caught in the warpath tonight as the "Original Death Machine" looked to send a message tonight. Dickinson knew that Harry Smith, current North American Heavyweight champion and his opponent at "Summer Reign", was in the building tonight, and so he would deliver the Braineater, following up with an unnecessary Rings of Saturn to force the referee to call the match as Fox was completely out, leaving him in a heap at he yelled profanities about Smith and his title reign coming to an end.
TAG TEAM MATCH
AJ Lee & Cheerleader Melissa defeat Sara Del Rey & Sarah Stock. AJ Lee and "The Dark Angel" Sarah Stock will be battling at "Summer Reign" for the World Women's championship, but a match just as hotly anticipated, the long awaited showdown between "The Queen of Wrestling" Sara Del Rey and the "Female Terminator" Cheerleader Melissa, will also be taking place that night, and this was a hot preview for that. This was Melissa's debut match here in Overdrive, and she ended it with an exclamation point, actually pinning the number one contender to the World Women's championship clean after delivering a devastating Kudo Driver. Forget Sara Del Rey, Melissa's partner for the night, AJ Lee, seemed to take the most notice of that, realizing she has a very real threat waiting for her if she can survive "The Dark Angel" on the 16th.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe defeat Brian Cage & Caleb Konley w/ Christy Hemme. This was the rubber match between championship hopefuls here, as at the "Great American Bash" the Briscoes will be vying for the World Tag Team titles and the pairing of Cage & Konley will be looking to cement their claim to the North American Tag Team titles. Tonight, though, even with the help of Christy Hemme and despite all of the stunts and stops they tried to pull, the "Dem Boys" would persevere, Mark managing to catch Cage from behind as he looked like he might fly to the outside, pulling him down into the Cut-Throat Suplex, which was enough to keep him down for a three and solidify that the Briscoes will be taking on B-Boy & Homicide at "Summer Reign"!
SINGLES MATCH
Harry Smith defeats Roderick Strong. The North American Heavyweight champion, Harry Smith, would make his Overdrive debut here to decent fan fare, but these fans were clearly behind Roderick Strong tonight, who brought a huge fight to the "Canadian Bulldog" on this night. Smith would manage to withstand the barrage of Strong, further earning the respect of the fans as these two battled all over the outside and really showed their technical skills in the ring. Smith managed to pick up the exhausting victory by slapping on the last of three Sharpshooters he'd applied in the night, forcing Strong, who had nothing left in the tank, to finally admit defeat by tapping out. The two men would shake hands in the center of the ring, a great show of respect, until Chris Dickinson made his way out and confronted Smith.
Dickinson and Smith were nose to nose as officials flooded out, trying to preemptively stop any scuffle that may occur, but these two powerful stars were able to rip through the officials and land some blows on one another, getting these fans all riled up! Smith would manage to catch Dickinson with a big dropkick right to the chops, sending him rolling out of the ring under the ropes, and the fans chanted for Smith as Dickinson made his way back up the ramp, clearly bested on this night.
SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
Chris Hero, Austin Aries, and Frankie Kazarian defeat Seth Rollins, Delirious, and Jimmy Jacobs w/ Seleziya Sparx. In a huge finale, the good guys would manage to overcome all of the tactics and mind games of the dangerous trio of Rollins, Delirious, and Jacobs, along with their very strong back up valet, Seleziya, to get the win and please this crowd tonight. Hero would manage to catch Rollins flying to the outside with a brutal elbow, Kazarian would hit a Flux Capacitor on Delirious off the apron to the floor, and Aries would lock in the Last Chancery on Jacobs in the center of the ring to get the submission win, much to the West Haven crowd's approval!
Obviously frustrated, Rollins, Delirious, Jacobs, and Seleziya would attack Hero, Aries, and Kazarian from behind with chairs, leading to Rollins crushing Aries with his brutal Curb Stomp right onto a steel chair! Rollins would then grab a microphone:
"Everybody... from you in the crowd, to all of you in the back, you take a good look. We, myself, Delirious, Jacobs, Seleziya... we didn't come here to rise to the top. We came here to bring everyone else down to our level. Tonight, it's just the beginning. Wins, losses... trivial. We are the Forever Fallen. We've lived at the fringe of your society for far too long, and now, we force you to listen, we force you to watch, as we drag you all down one by one, tear it all down, brick by brick, and you think your heroes won tonight? They don't have the meddle, they don't have the DRIVE, the WILL, to survive, not against us. They became fighters by choice, by trade... WE WERE BORN FIGHTING, FIGHTING FOR EVERY DAY BECAUSE EACH ONE COULD BE OUR LAST! But now, the only thing that will 'last' is our legacy, as we cement ourselves as the great leaders that we were always meant to be."
Rollins looks down at Aries as Jacobs and Delirious continue to stomp and choke Hero and Kazarian.
"Aries... 'The Greatest Man That Ever Lived'... you seem ripe for reprisal, seeing as how you think so highly of yourself and you obviously think you are better than us. At 'Summer Reign'... me and you, Aries... you and I. Nobody else. We all know how highly you think of yourself, hold yourself above everyone else... and that's going to make your fall so much farther, and your demise so much sweeter."
Rollins tosses down the microphone and the group, now known as "Forever Fallen", leave to a very mixed, but loud, reaction.
