Southern Tag Team champions: Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion
TV champion: Dylan Bostic
Women's champion: Heidi Lovelace
Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, and Michael Titus welcome viewers to the show. 1 week before the next Saturday Night Special and here today, Jamin Olivencia & Rudy Switchblade will team up together ahead of having to go 1 on 1 as the 2 fan favorites look to settle their rivalry and prove which of the 2 is the better wrestler. Also today, the return of the mysterious masked man to TV known only as The Metal Master, as well as the second round of the 2014 Miss OVW competition. Last week was the Q & A, this week will see the various femmes fatale showing off their many talents, something Titus cannot wait for! Also here tonight will be EFD Eddie Diamond against The Ultimate Fighter Jay Bradley, plus a big return match from the last SNS when Paredyse faces The Pastor of Disaster Stuart Miles. Kicking us off though is non title action and for that we head to the ring ...
Match #1
Rockstar Ryan Howe defeats TV champion Dylan Bostic in a non title match @ 5:13 via DQ when The Mexicutioner interfered. Howe had Bostic in the Whammy Bar, his version of the Fujiwara Armbar, and Bostic seemed to be on the verge of tapping when from the outside came Bostic's bodyguard with a kick to the head to break it up and end the match. Bostic got up with Mexicutioner's help as they prepared a game plan to take out Howe out. From the back came the Psychedelic Superstar Chris Silvio with other plans. Silvio started landing rights on Bostic and sent him into the ropes to hit him with the Rocket Punch when he bounced back, but Mexicutioner grabbed Bostic instead and brought him out to the floor. Not today as Bostic got his TV Title belt from the time keeper's table. Time may be running out for him though as Silvio & Howe zero in, but is The Mexicutioner the answer? We may soon find out.
-- First commercial break --
Back from break and The Body Guy is out with The Body Guard. Body Guy thinks it is a complete travesty that Rob Terry is the man getting the shot at Marcus Anthony and the Southern Title at the Saturday Night Special next weekend, and if anything last week proves that The Body Guard is more of a man than Terry ever was. So here is what he is proposing, next week here on TV, 1 more time, Rob Terry against The Body Guard, and if Terry loses, HE himself gets the title shot at SNS. Body Guard seems a bit agitated by that idea since he is doing the work but Body Guy reassures "Melvin" that he is here to do a job and so far is doing it well, but not to screw things up now. The only thing better than looking at himself in the mirror, would be doing it while wearing the Southern championship belt. We will see if Terry accepts.
Match #2
Metal Master defeats Raul Lamotta @ 3:08 via pinfall after a Jackhammer. A successful return by the masked star to TV here today as he goes over The Rudo with ease, something that is becoming less and less of an accomplishment with each passing week. Lamotta questions the referee as Dean yells on commentary that it was a 3 and to get over it. Titus is more understanding, feeling that Metal Master should not be allowed to wrestler under a mask because you never know who you are preparing for. The fans chant "1, 2, 3" at Lamotta and further get under his skin as he looks to be losing his mind before heading to the back, unable to find a win since returning earlier this month.
-- Second commercial break --
Match #3
Paredyse defeats Stuart Miles @ 6:34 via pinfall, using a sunset flip. Miles had attempted to get to the ropes as his second The Altar Boy tried to reach through and grab his hands to pull him closer, leading to Miles falling onto Paredyse's shoulders with his knees. At the 2 though, referee Chris Sharpe noticed Miles had the ropes and called for a break. Miles let go and Paredyse brought his legs back to hook under Miles' shoulders and bring him back down to the mat for the 3 count. This was a big win for Paredyse in the rematch from the SNS where Miles won, but the revenge was short lived as Miles jumped him after the bell. The Paster of Disaster repeatedly kicked Paredyse before requesting "the good book" from The Altar Boy. As Paredyse got up, Miles took a swing with it, but Paredyse ducked and instead caught Miles with a kick to the gut as he turned around. Paredyse picked up the book and went for a swing, but Miles was able to get to the floor. The Reverend yelled for Paredyse to give him the book back, even telling his Altar Boy to go in and get it, leading to Paredyse mockingly pretend to wipe his rear with it, infuriating Miles. Dean says on commentary that is about all that book is good for, as Titus tells him never to speak that way of the sacred document. Dean says he has seen that book and it is nothing but blank page after blank page just like the belief system that Miles tries to push around here to all the fans of Ohio Valley. This issue remains unsettled from week to week.
-- Third commercial break --
Before the next match, Big Rob Terry is out. Asked about the challenge earlier tonight from The Body Guy for next week here on TV, Terry quickly accepts saying he would love nothing more than to finally put an end to The Body Guard. There is no way he will lose and let somebody like The Body Guy get what he has worked so hard for since his return to Ohio Valley. Talk then turns to the Southern champion Marcus Anthony, who is not here tonight as manager Timmy Danger sent word that he was in secluded training to prepare for his title defense against Terry at the Saturday Night Special next weekend. Terry says that it is all fine and well because no matter what Anthony does or where he hides, he will fall on August 2 when there is a new Southern champion crowned.
Match #4
Eddie Diamond defeats Jay Bradley @ 4:39 via pinfall with a schoolboy. A somewhat shocking upset, but the truth involves an appearance by Mr. Media Cliff Compton as he heads out to his entrance music blasting. He proceeds to take a chair and stand on it, blaring out an air horn that leaves The Ultimate Fighter wanting Compton banished from ringside. Mongo tries talking sense to Compton, but just gets the same treatment of an air horn to the ear that leaves him acting as though he has just gone deaf. During all the commotion, Diamond surprised Bradley with the rollup from behind and took the win. Bradley was upset as Dean has a good laugh over this 1, saying Bradley just got exactly what he deserved out here. Titus answers that Compton will get what he deserves because there is no way Bradley will not be looking for retaliation after what just happened. Gilbert points out that Compton has been looking for a shot at Bradley ever since the Nightmare Rumble and Bradley walking out on their match at the last SNS.
-- Fourth commercial break --
Miss OVW Competition
Michael Titus is in the ring with several of the women of Ohio Valley, welcoming viewers and fans in the Davis Arena to the second round of the 2014 Miss OVW competition! In the ring are Women's champion Heidi Lovelace, Taeler Hendrix, Jessie Belle, Holly Blossom, Hannah Blossom, Scarlett Bordeaux, Nikki St. John, Solo Darling, and Ray Lynn. 1 of these women will be crowned Miss OVW, and it continues tonight with the Talent portion. Last week's round was the Q & A which was controversially awarded by Titus to Ray for her, ahem, unique response about the Russia - Ukraine situation. Dean clarifies for viewers that Titus is not the judge and that his word meant nothing last week.
The first talent to be demonstrated is by Ray Lynn, and it is the exact same talent that won her last week's round. She starts twerking it as the rest of the girls look on seemingly disgusted by her as she is clueless. Titus likes it and says if it were up to him, this would already be over, but just as a formality, he will let the rest go, but so far Ray is ahead which has her jumping up and down with glee. Jessie Belle is next and says she is going to show Ray Lynn how they dance here in the south and proceeds to do her jigging and do si do'ing to cheers from the fans as Ray gives a thumbs down. The Blossoms are next and say that their talent is making cupcakes as they pull back a cover on a table and reveal a plate of them. They go around handing them to fans, but Nikki is less thrilled about it. She says that her talent is putting away a whole tray of them, but not by eating them as she proceeds to flip them over onto the mat. She starts laughing with the other 2 Mean Girls as Taeler says for everybody to get out of her way because her talent is the greatest of all. She stands there as Scarlett props Taeler's hair and adjusts her dress. Titus asks what the talent is when she does nothing. Taeler says that is her talent, being the most beautiful woman in all of OVW and having everybody lay their eyes on her week after week with envy. Titus seems confused but nods his head saying ok and he guesses Scarlett's talent is waiting on her hand & foot before Heidi grabs the mic away. She says that her talent is right here as she holds up the Ohio Valley Women's Title and if there is anything that Taeler envies in this ring, it is that right there. Taeler just says whatever and calls Heidi a loser, to which Heidi says that the last time they met, Taeler was the loser. Taeler turns back and Heidi gets in her face as all the women get in to keep them separated. Referees get in as well as Titus tells them all to just calm down because next week is round #3 of the Miss OVW and it will be the dreaded Tug O' War! A chance for the women to prove their physicality next week on TV, and for those keeping track, Solo again does nothing.
-- Fifth commercial break --
Back from break and Bin Hamin is out with The Marauders. Hamin tells the fans and Gilbert that he has had enough of The Lords of The Ring. His men want a match with Nick Dinsmore & Rob Conway next week at the Saturday Night Special, and they will put the Southern Tag Team Title on the line if they have the guts to accept the challenge. Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion are the premiere tag team in Ohio Valley and nobody will deny them of it any longer! As for Fabiano Rolento, the ink has dried on the contract and he will be going 1 on 1 with his former tag team partner Mohammad Ali Vaez. Hamin says that he gave Vaez the chance to join them but he turned it down like the fool he is, and now he will pay the price when Rolento adds 1 more name to his hit list.
So as it stands, the Saturday Night Special lineup for August 2 will be Rob Terry challenging Marcus Anthony for the Southern Heavyweight Title, Mohammad Ali Vaez vs Fabiano Rolento in a grudge match, as well as a tag team match just signed with Chris Silvio & Ryan Howe vs Dylan Bostic & The Mexicutioner. That in addition to if they accept next week, a Southern Tag Team Title with Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion against The Lords of The Ring, Nick Dinsmore & Rob Conway. It sure seems from the looks of things that Paredyse and Stuart Miles have another battle left between them, and Jay Bradley might finally be willing to get into the ring with Cliff Compton after the embarrassment he suffered earlier today. The whole card will be announced next weekend here on TV, but there is already 1 more match that is official that we found out last week and it is a big 1 as Jamin Olivencia battles Rudy Switchblade. Right now though, the 2 will team together in the main event today so let's get back to the ring.
Match #5
Jamin Olivencia & Rudy Switchblade defeat Nick Dumeyer & Elvis Pridemoore @ 5:38 when Olivencia pinned Dumeyer after the O Drop, a bodyscissors into a DDT, at the same time that Switchblade had Pridemoore tapping out to The Boston Crab. Not much by way of competition, the storyline here was more of a 1 upsmanship between the 2 babyfaces. Each wanted to out do the other and show the fans that they were the better wrestler after a match between them ended in a no decision 2 weeks ago due to interference. After the match, the 2 stand nose to nose and the commentators push to the viewers at home that we might be about to see them go at it right now! Switchblade however backed down and exited the ring, staring down Olivencia as the 2 exchanged words. Just when the broadcast seemed ready to end though, Dumeyer & Pridemoore jumped Olivencia from behind. The fans boo'd this as Switchblade just looked on for a few seconds as if considering the option of just leaving. The fans cheered though as The Ghetto Boys launched Olivencia into the ropes, he ducked a double clothesline as Switchblade slid back in and together they took out The Ghetto Boys with a double clothesline of their own. The 2 stand tall as the show goes off the air, pushing next week's broadcast with the Tug O' War as round 3 in the Miss OVW competition, Rob Terry against The Body Guard with Terry's Southern Title shot at the Saturday Night Special on the line, plus Nick Dinsmore & Rob Conway answer Bin Hamin's challenge. Next week, don't miss it!
