Windy City TV: Fight Night (31/07/14) - episode #28
Where: Evogue Nightclub, 14500 S. Kostner Ave, Chicago, Illinois
When: Thursday 31st July, 2014
Attendance: 1,018
The show starts with video package recaps of the last Fight Night TV Show with the controversial co-main events of Chris Masters against Drew McIntrye and Mark Jindrak winning the NWA North American Heavyweight Title against Harry Smith.
We see highlights of Chris Masters beating Drew McIntrye in their rematch the NWA PPV, The Great American Bash. Masters gained more NWA wide exposure before sending out a message to the entire NWA that he's ready to make a step-up and challenge anyone, even if it's Samoa Joe!
The recaps close with Jindrak retaining against Chris Dickinson in a time-limit draw over in Liberty-Pro in New York before again successfully defending his title in a re-match against Harry Smith at the NWA PPV, The Great American Bash.
~The video package ends and the commentators announce that tonight's main-event will see the NWA Windy City Cyber TV Title on the line as Carlito who stole the physical belt from Dave Rayne, will meet the champion, "John Doe" - whoever that might be under the guise of John Doe! There is much speculation about just who might show up tonight as a mercenary for Dave Rayne!
1. Windy City Womens Championship Match
April Davids def. Paige [c] by countout
~Paige did her usual trick of getting herself counted out on purpose. David's had earned the title chance by beating Paige in a non-title match on an earlier tour event.
2. The Usos (Jay & Jimmy) def. "Some Fuckers" (couple of local guys) w/The Little Hitlers (Rockstar Spud & Crash Test Dummy) by pinfall when Jay pinned local guy A after a splash from the top rope.
~After the match Spud and CTD attacked The Usos, helped by some more goons (Some More Fuckers!) but soon The Usos started to gain a foothold and come back from the attack and Spud and CTD exited stage left leaving the local "Some Fuckers" to take their beat-down from The Usos who looked superb tonight.
*Sean Waltman came out to the ramp looking not as beat up as many would have thought and announced to the world that getting Jacknifed by Kevin Nash last week due to his poor performance was a wake-up call for him and it won't happen again. Waltman tells Nash that he forgives him, he's his brother, and he deserved it!
Sean informs us that he will make a quick recovery from the Jacknife and will be ready to challenge the lethal Ron Shen to a rematch on the next Fight Night. Waltman says he will show Nash that he's not finished and his quest to win major honours before he retires still lives.
3. Bully Ray & Daniel Puder def. Kevin Steen by DQ in a handicap match
-Kevin Steen refused to accept a tag-partner for this match as he took on the two men who joined forces to eliminate him in the NWA North American Title Shot battle royal on the last Fight Night TV show. Steen was noticably very intense and volatile during this matchup and was DQ'd when he smashed Daniel Puder through a table with a Steeniliser. Steen's upper-hand did not last though as Bobby Roode (the 3rd man in the battle royal conspiracy) ran down and attacked him but Steen managed to fight off Bully Ray and Bobby Roode and make his escape through the crowd.
4. Kris Travis def. Jack Swagger by forefit
~Swagger refused to work the booked match, saying he's beat Travis so many times one-on-one, some tag wins and multi-man wins for Travis doesn't mean he deserves another shot at him! Will The Powers That Be now force Swagger to another one-on-one confrontation with Travis?
5. Jeffery "Ohh-La-La" Flockhart w/"Rock Hard" Dick Ryder def. Tyson T-Bone w/Jimmy Hart by submission with the Queer As Folk (Groin Claw)
~Flockhart entered the ring to Smalltown Boy, Glee version and was accompanied by his tag team partner Dick Ryder who was skulking around the ring tormenting Jimmy Hart throughout the match but T-Bone's partner Mike Knoxx was nowhere to be found having apparently not arrived as booked according to his manager "The Mouth of the South" which T-Bone was not happy about.
Flockhart is a scrappy cat and showed he has some skills and tenacity but perhaps was being over-powered by T-Bone for most of the match but the finish came thanks to some interference from Dick Ryder as Hart fled from the menacing Ryder back to the back and perhaps didn't do a great job in looking after his charge tonight, and Mike Knox certainly didn't by not showing up!
As a result Jeffery was only to glad to take advantage of the distraction from Ryder and grab hold of T-Bones manhood with his Groin Claw and he sunk it on real good for the victory only letting go when Ryder licked T-Bone's face with his tongue. Flockhart seemed upset by that as he wanted the attention but he smiled when Ryder offered his now signature spot of telling Flockhart to hold onto his out-turned pocket as they left the ring.
Gaydar gain more momentum over the Tag Champs, The Only Way Is Beards ahead of their Tag Team Title match on the next Fight Night, and they prove to be perhaps the most disturbing act at the moment in Windy City.
Main Event: NWA Windy City Cyber-TV Title Match
6. "John Doe" [c] (Bray Wyatt) w/Dave Rayne def. Carlito via pinfall with the Sister Abbigail
-The currently recognised Cyber TV Champion "John Doe" retains the title and "I Am" Dave Rayne regains control of the actual Cyber TV Title belt that Carlito had stolen thanks to a winning debut from the hypnotic individual that is Bray Wyatt who took on the mantle of "John Doe" for the night.
Dave Rayne gingerly paid off Bray Wyatt handing over a purple purse before quickly leaving with the belt.
*We are told by commentators not to change the channel as the new NWA North American Heavyweight Champion, "The Reflection of Perfection" Mark Jindrak has just apparently demanded some TV time and he will be up next after the commercials!
*Commercials*
~We pan around the eVogue nightclub and then the hard camera brings us into the ring, as stood there with a smug look on his face and a shiny new gold belt around his six-pack is Mark Jindrak
Jindrak: Enough of that main-event, I'm your real main-event star here in Windy City. I'm the man you paid to see, all hail your conquering hero Mark Jindrak! Doesn't this belt look great on me?
*Mixed response from the crowd who although happy to see a "Windy City Guy" win NWA gold are not that endeared with Jindrak. Jindrak takes no notice and un-hooks the NWA North American Title from his waist and trys to check out his abs in the reflection on the gold plate of the championship belt.
Jindrak: That truly is THE Reflection of Perfection right there! But maybe I shouldn't show you what's possible with a little hard work and determination - I mean it's not as if any of you look in the mirror anyway so why would you care. But let me tell you, these abs was not painted on like in the film 300 and this title didn't magically appear around my waist or come out of a Lucky-Dip bag. I had to earn them. And that I did in spades but don't be sad, although you Chicago lard-asses will never amount to anything you can look at me as the reflection you'd like to see, staring back at you!
*Boo's from the crowd as Jindrak continues to draw heat*
Jindrak: But I digress, I'm the NWA North American Heavyweight Champion. But this being Champion lark is kinda hard-work. You see I have to listen to alot of moaning, alot of bitching and crying from other wrestlers who think they're worth this and worth that - there are alot of suitors for this I will admit. It seems everyone and his dog wants a North American Title shot right now. But let me consider my next options...
...Harry "The Pibtull" Smith - beat him twice in a row now, back of line Harry son!
...Chris Dickinson. This guy lost to Drew Galuk in New York recently? He couldn't beat me for the title when he had his shot?! Okay next...erm....
...Adam Cole....Adam Who? To be honest maybe I was south of the border with my latino hunnies for too long because I don't really know who this lad is or who has he beat to earn a shot ay my belt? Nobody that I've heard off that's for sure. I've heard of his mouth piece though Steve Corino. I'd fight that old bastard, that old relic though any day of the week and twice on Sunday, at least I've heard of him.
...This brings me to the last Fight Night and Bully Ray and Daniel Puder...These guys co-won a Battle Royal to earn a title shot. I'm not sure how they're going to determine who gets the sole title shot as I'm certainly not going to put my belt on the line against both but...
*Jindraks speil is interupted as out walks the NWA Windy City Heavyweight Champion, "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters!
Chris Masters: Yo, Marky Mark. Well done on the title win. bringing the belt home to Windy City. Congrats. But don't you think I've forgotten about you!
Yes, you beat me, in inverted comma's, on the Spring Stampede countdown show in a non-title match but everybody knows that was thanks to Daniel Puder. Since then we've locked horns in tag matches that usually ended up with you attacking me from behind after the match - like the yellow bellied coward like you are! As far as I'm concerned Mark, we only just got warmed up you and me.
Let me tell you, I've made a challenge and a statement on the big stage that I'm willing to fight anyone in the NWA. Any place, any region, any time. I can reveal tonight some huge, big news! I have a shot here in Chicago for the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Samoa Joe!
That has been confirmed by The Powers That Be for the next Fight Night! Chris Masters will face Samoa Joe for the Worlds Heavyweight Title.
*Crowd pops for the huge news of a Chris Masters-Samoa Joe World Championship Match*
Masters: But once I'm done with Joe, proved I'm an upper-echelon talent here in the NWA - I will be coming for you Marky Mark. Doesn't matter what title or championship is on the line. Be it my Windy City Heavyweight Title, your North American Gold, the NWA World Heavyweight Title or all 3!!! We will meet one-on-one again, and you will suffer the fate of the Master-Lock.
*Jindrak looks a little annoyed at that statement from Masters, as it seems Jindrak now has alot on his plate from all corners!
*Show fades to close*
