Windy City TV: Fight Night (24/08/14) - episode #29
Where: Swonder Ice Arena, Evansville, Indiana
When: Sunday 24th August, 2014
Attendance: 1,200
NWA Windy City made his debut in the State of Indiana with a sell-out and heavily locally promoted big "Fight Night" Monthly Live TV special from the Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville, just mere miles away from the Illinois state-lines.
With a loaded card full of stars regularly seen on TV in the Chicago-Tri-State Area, as well as the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe in attendance, Windy City went full out to impress the fans as they seek out a new market in Indiana.
The show starts with the new NWA Windy City Chief of Staff Triple H in the ring. He says the way things are run around here are about to change as soon as he gets his feet under the table but firstly tonight will be a huge night in Windy City history! Trip's runs down tonight's matchups and announces that not only is the Cyber-TV on the line tonight, not only is the Big Gold Belt on the line in a huge main-event, but the Tag Team Titles are on the line, and they are on the line next!
NWA Windy City Tag Team Championships
1. Gaydar ("Rock Hard" Dick Ryder & Jeffery "Ohhh-La-La" Flockhart) defeats T.O.W.I.B (Tyson T-Bone & Mike Knox) w/"The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart to win the Tag Team Titles in 07:02.
*Dick Ryder was distracted in the early going's by chants of "Rene!" replacing "Ole!" when he laced in some chops to the chest of Knox and the Champions who have been a bit disjointed recently (T-Bone no-showing the last Fight Night due to a miscommunication in travel arrangements with Jimmy Hart) soon regrouped and took control of the match double-teaming the challengers with quick tags.
Jimmy Hart at ringside though turned his back to the ring and as Ryder and T-Bone ran the ropes, he grabbed the leg of T-Bone "by accident" tripping him. This allowed Ryder to capitalise and hit him with the "French Tickler" (Pas de basque followed by a running elbow drop to the opponent's head) before nailing Knox to the outside and tagging in Flockhart who weasled into the ring and latched on the "Queer as Folk" Groin-Claw on T-Bone to gain the submission win and claim the tag team titles!
After the three count had gone down and T-Bone and Knox had gotten themselves together they started to argue between themselves, but then centered their attentions on Jimmy Hart! Knox grabbed Hart by the throat and was about to lamp him one when Knox & T-Bone was attacked from behind by Gaydar! Gaydar did a number on them laying down the stomps before Dick Ryder smashed T-Bone with The Gay Basher (Pump-Handle Slam) while Flockhart picked up Knox and swiftly dropped him with Superkick that he calls the Catwalk Kick.
To a chorus of boo's, Jimmy Hart then came up behind both men and tapped Ryder on his shoulder softly. Turning around, "Rock Hard" turned out his right trouser pocket and as per we have become accustomed to Jeffery Flockhart quickly held onto it in sub-serviance! But then Ryder paused for dramatic effect and then pulled out his left trouser pocket and looked over towards Jimmy Hart! Hart took a few moments to look around as the crowd realized what was up, and then with a sick, perverted smile slowly grabbed hold of Dick Ryder's left turned-out trouser pocket to a chorus of boo's from the crowd as the trio posed in this strange but powerful stance for Dick Ryder!
***Commercials - Inc. an advertisement that NWA Windy City will be touring the entire Chicagoland (Chicago tri-state area) next month with a series of "Windy City On Tour" shows in Illinois, Indiana & Wisconsin. Fans are reminded that each show is taped and highlights of select matches will be shown on a weekly basis on the "Windy City On Tour" Round-Up TV show, shown on syndication throughout the Chicagoland region.***
2. Sean Waltman def. Ron Shen w/Steve Blackman by pinfall in 14:53
*We came back and both men was already in the ring. Waltman looked focussed and on a mission looking to avenge a squash loss to Ron Shen from more recent troubled times. Waltman though looked like he has turned a corner. He looked sharp, fresh and with a revigorated stanima.
Ron Shen started out quickly and blasted Waltman will all his big moves but Waltman was able to bounce up from almost all of them. Shen managed to nail his fabled KARATE KICK! but Waltman partially it seemed blocked the big round-house kick and kicked out just before the three! As the match wore on Ron Shen perhaps gassing, slowed down, and Waltman after being dominated mostly took over landing stinging kicks and chops to Shen before a gasping Shen fell into the corner. Waltman signaled and went for it and landed the Broncho Buster! Waltman leaped off and Shen stumbled out of his corner and walked right into an X-Factor! Waltman immediately pins Ron Shen and gets the three count! A disgusted Steve Blackman at ringside seemingly walks out on Shen as Waltman celebrates his big win, the comeback Kid with a big win!
*After a short discussion about Waltman's big comeback between Paul Heyman and Smark Mark with Heyman saying he smells a rat out came Kris Travis comes down to the ring with a mic. He told the Fight Night audience that YES Jack Swagger defeated him time after time in singles action. But he's a young hungry fighter and he came back to defeat Swagger in various tag team and multi-man matches so there's no doubt he's earned another crack at Swagger - but for some reason, now Swagger wants to duck him in singles action.
This brought out Jack Swagger. Who said "Look Kid, if you really want another shot at Jack Swagger, your going to have to put something on the line to make it worth my while. My time is important and I can't keep wasteing it on rookie-kids!"
This seemed to piss off Travis a little who blurted out, "Let's put it all on the line Swagger! My career verses yours! Loser Leaves Town Match!"
Swagger paused, then smiled accepted the match saying "Your careers about to be over before it's even started Kid!"
3. Kevin Steen bested Bully Ray by DQ in 8:20
*In what was a very hard hitting bout, the match was rudely interupted by "The Only Star" Daniel Puder, an accomplice of Bully Ray who blatanly interfered in the match with a chair shot to the head of Kevin Steen!
*After the match Bully Ray took to the mic and told Kevin Steen that himself and Daniel Puder don't have an real reason for what they are doing to Kevin Steen with their constant attacks and interferences. The fact is that they just don't like him...and don't believe that Kevin Steen has worked hard enough to have the spot he has. Bully Ray told the fans to just look at Steen's gut, and then look at his "Bully Ray Calfs". Ray then told the downed Steen that they would not be going away and they would make his life a misery.
***Commercials - Including early commercials of how to order the next NWA PPV "Fall Brawl".***
As we come back from commercials we see Kevin Steen in gorilla holding onto his head having just returned from the ring. Steen is quite obviously visibly pissed off in a major league way cussing out both men forcing the tape delay guys to earn their dough. Steen ends his rant by challenging both those *beep* *beep* to a Hardcore Handicap Match on the next Fight Night next month! This Kevin Steen certainly has balls if not maybe a death wish!
NWA Windy City Cyber-TV Championship
4. Bray Wyatt defeats "John Doe" [c] (Luke Harper) w/Dave Rayne in 01:01 to win the Cyber-TV Title!
*Dave Rayne thought he had out-smarted Bray Wyatt here by bringing in Luke Harper to take the guise of "John Doe" to defend the Cyber TV Title that Dave Rayne carries around. This backfired on him though as Bray and Harper did a couple of stand-off shoulder charges before Harper fell down under another medium strength shoulder charge and Wyatt promptly pinned him to win the Championship!
Harper jumped straight back up and Dave Rayne was enraged on the outside as Wyatt did the sinister smile only here can do. Rayne tried to escape with the belt he carried but he was chased down by Harper who beat on him and then dragged him down to the ring and tossed him in under the bottom rope. Bray Wyatt did his upside down weird pose in the corner turnbuckle, and then grabbed ahold of Rayne and nailed him with Sister Abbigail. Wyatt unstripped the Cyber TV belt from around Rayne's waist as he lay prone on the mat. Wyatt stared into the belt at face height blankly before he and Harper posed together with the belt, looking like creepy motherfuckers.
NWA Windy City Womens Championship
5. April Davids def. Paige via DQ in 9:25
*In what was a great match between the two women, Paige decided that things was getting too heavy and she nailed David's with her title belt right infront of the ref to cause an instant DQ. Paige would retain her title as she smirked but that only brought out the new Chief of Staff Triple H!
Triple H said that tonight had been a hell of a night so far, but he would not allow Paige to keep retaining her Championship like this. Last time she got herself counted out on purpose against David's and tonight she got herself DQ'd - well this would not happen next time as Paige will defend her Womens Title on the next Fight Night against April David's in a Steel Cage Match!
***Commercials - Inc Windy City announcing the signings of John Cena, Kofi Kingston and the NWA World Jr HW Champion Daniel Bryan!.***
Commmercials come to a close and Rey Mysterio is backstage looking up at the monitor looking disgusted. The static image of John Cena, Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan remains on the screen and their prescence seems to burn a hole in Mysterio's heart as extremely angry he says he's sick of these new guys coming in looking to take his spot that he's earned all these years. Mysterio says he still has alot to offer the NWA Windy City fans but he needs to put down a marker, and in order to do that he will challenge any of these 3 new arrivals, be it John Cena, Kofi Kingston or Daniel Bryan to a match on the next Fight Night...but then switches thought and says what about Kofi Kingston!? With the stipulation being it will be a Mask vs Hair Match!!! A challenge is set!
NWA World Heavyweight Championship
6. Samoa Joe [c] vs "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters
*The NWA Windy City Championship of Chris Masters wasn't up for grabs in this matchup and the Windy City star Masters went into this bout in buoyant mood after having recently pinned the World Champion during a recent tag team match. Samoa Joe meanwhile suddenly has lots of challengers wanting his head, so could tiredness affect him during this match?
The answer to that question on this occasion was no, as both Masters and Joe wrestled one hell of a match. Masters for the most part out-wrestled Joe, but the Champ was clinical with his striking and hurt Masters massively with a big kick to the ribs. The finish came when Joe went for a jumping-twisting Enzuigiri but Master's side-stepped him and immediately latched on The Master-Lock! Joe struggled and almost got free with Master's ribs partially forcing him to release the hold but after a struggle and scramble Chris managed to regain the hold with both men in the turnbuckle, Masters with his back to it. With the ref checking on Joe, Masters suddenly leased the hold and fell back slumping into the turnbuckle.
Following up, Joe delivered a swift kick to the gut, then pushed Masters up onto the top rope and quickly, landed his Muscle Buster finisher! Joe made the cover 1-2.....3!!! Samoa Joe retains the NWA World Heavyweight Championship!
Paul Heyman on coms speculates that maybe Master's hurt ribs must have gave way, but then a replay showed someone in a hooded mask at ringside crack Masters in the back of the head with a foreign object, out of the field of vision of the hard camera which was concentrating on the Master-Lock Masters had on Joe. It was this sickening shot which had caused Chris Masters to collapse and proceed to go down to the Muscle Buster.
The hooded person makes his way up the ramp, and once at the top, firstly slowly pulling out a lead pipe from under his cloak before slowly removes his hood to reveal MARK JINDRAK!!! The NWA North American Heavyweight Champion Mark Jindrak! The camera pans back to the ring and shows a close up of a busted open from the back of his head, blood everywhere all over his face, arms and chest, out-cold Chris Masters.
Smark Mark doing play-by-play goes mental saying what a huge thing this is in NWA Windy City, Mark Jindrak has just made the first strike in what is sure to be a WAR with Chris Masters!
