Announcers : Taz, Arn Anderson and Michael Cole
Date : 08.13.14
Location : CPW Arena, City of Industry, CA
The show started off with highlights from the previous show and the brawls that ensued.
Winner pick the match [Round 2]: Dolph Ziggler pinned Kyle Matthews with the Zig Zag in 02:56 after Kofi tripped up Kyle.
MATCH NOTES : This was another good outing as the former top two in the NWA battled it out to see who might have been the best. It was a very short match, and much like a lot of recent matches involving Sky High or The hybrid Athletes, full of interference and controversy. In the end, Dolph got the 3 count, but it wasn't clean and didn't settle anything.
Edge came out and informed Matthews, ADR, Borne and Kingston that at No Escape, they would be facing off for the CPW Tag Team Championship in a 2 out of 3 falls Match, due to all of the blatant interference that has been occurring.
Winner picks the match [Round 2]: Antonio Banks pinned Shelton Benjamin with the Malicious Intent in 09:07.
MATCH NOTES : A good outing for Banks, who rode the tide of his win over ADR a few day prior. Benjamin looked good, but made a mistake and it cost him.
Winner picks the match [Round 2]: Roman Reigns pinned Rob Van Dam with the Spear in 08:53.
MATCH NOTES : Reigns looked like he could have worked in the ECW of old, with his stalking antics. he and RVD worked a very good match and in the end, Roman got the better of the former ECW World Champ.
Winner picks the match [Round 2]: Paul Burchill pinned Chris Jericho with a small package in 15:14. After the match, Jericho attacked Paul with the ring bell, a folding chair and hen put him threw a table. As Jericho was walking to the back, Paul started to stir, only to have Jericho return to the ring, and hit a Code Breaker to leave his former partner, battered, bloody and broken in the center of the ring. Chris then took the house mic and challenged Paul to 'One final fight' at No Escape.... a Street Fight!
MATCH NOTES : A brawl that wasn't planed but the fans loved. In the end, Paul got the win, but it wasn't because he outwrestled Jericho, it was because Chris beat... Chris.
--INTERMISSION--
Winner picks the match [Semi-Finals]: Dolph Ziggler pinned Antonio Banks with the Zig Zag in 09:31.
MATCH NOTES : Both men were tired from their earlier matches, and yet they still attempted to showcase the talents of the younger generation of NWA champions. Banks looked like he may have been able to beat Dolph, but Dolph was able to pull out the win to advance to the finals.
Winner picks the match [Semi-Finals]: Roman Reigns pinned Paul Burchill with the Spear in 01:08.
MATCH NOTES : Paul refused medical attention after the assault from Chris, and refused to back down when Roman told him it was gonna hurt if he stepped into the ring. Roman tried to make quick work of Paul, but the damn Englishmen wouldn't stay down. It took two spears to finally put Paul down. as the ref counted the three, Roman was signaling for the medics to come get Paul and take him to the hospital.
Edge came back out and said that the winner of the next match has the choice of entering the Elimination Chamber or facing Mark Jindrak for the NWA North American Championship. The loser of the match would get the remaining match.
Winner picks the match [Finals]: Roman Reigns defeated Dolph Ziggler via pinfall in 06:52.
MATCH NOTES : This match was the highlight of the tournament. Two of the best in CPW and possibly the NWA? They battled back and forth. Roman missed a spear, while Dolph only hit Mat off a Zig Zag. In the end, Roman was able to plant Dolph with a Power bomb onto the corner pads, followed up with a running lariat, to secure the win.
Both men were down and visually spent as the show ended and the fans were chanting their approval.
