Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, and Michael Titus welcome viewers to the show. Today's TV is the final stop on the road to the Saturday Night Special and there are still questions left unanswered. The biggest centers around the Southern Tag Team Title match where Mohammad Ali Vaez & Rob Conway get a shot, and today will team up to see how well they mesh together, but it will not be an easy task with their opponents being The Body Brigade of The Body Guy and his big Body Guard. Not only that, but Bin Hamin has not been seen or heard from since last week's show and we may have seen the last of him. Dean says that we can only be so lucky if that is true. A ton of action set for today, so let's head down to the ring for the opening match of the broadcast ...
Match #1
Bud Dwight and Deonta Davis fought to a no contest @ 1:28 when Mr. Media Cliff Compton came out. Bringing with him a chair, he requested a mic before heading into the ring. He told the combatants that they can either get the hell out of here right now or meet his little friend, and both obliged quickly to what could be a very serious situation developing. Compton tells everybody that week after week, he has had to watch matches like this while he sits in the back, but today that ends because ... he unfolds the chair and sits down ... he is going to sit right here in the ring instead! He says that there will not be another minute of action until he gets answers of why he has not got an opportunity. If anybody wants to try and have a match, they are more than welcome to, but they will have to get through his friend first. The commentators talk about what looks like a sit down strike or something out here and it will be hard to have a broadcast as long as this goes on.
The director of authority Trailer Park Trash is out and seems ready to address this situation. He heads up the steps, leading to Compton standing and taking the chair into his hands. TPT tells him to relax, he is not here for a fight. Just put the chair down. Compton throws it down and says whatever, not like he would need it anyway. TPT steps in and says he has heard the complaints of Compton the last several weeks out here, but he needs to understand something. Ohio Valley is just as much about the future as it is the present or the past. If Compton wanted a match, all he had to do was sign on the dotted line. Compton answers back to add him to the 3 way dance then with Jamin Olivencia, Rudy Switchblade, and Jay Bradley. Make it a 4 way. He can beat any of them with 1 hand tied behind his back, so give him the chance. TPT says that it is not that easy, the contracts are already in place for that match. But what he will do is give him a match at the Saturday Night Special. He cannot just put him in a match at the last minute that those 3 have already signed for, but he can give him the opportunity he is after. Compton considers the option and says alright, he will take it. He will take it BUT he is putting TPT on a short choke leash, and if he is not given the chance soon, he will take it!
-- First commercial break --
Back from break and Southern champion Marcus Anthony is out with manager Timmy Danger to talk with Gilbert. Danger tells him that this Last Man Standing match is not going to happen. Fans boo as Danger says that the doctors gave Anthony a 6 week recovery and this is only 5, so he is not medically cleared and can step out of the match if he so chooses. Anthony seems upset by this but Danger tells them all that it is the best thing for them because let's face it, a Last Man Standing match with Rob Terry when you are not 100%, "you ain't winning dawg." Anthony grabs Danger by the collar with 1 hand with that last comment showing a lack of faith, and pulls him in as Gilbert holds up the mic. Anthony says he is wrestling at the Saturday Night Special, and he will defeat Rob Terry no matter if he is 100% or 50%, he is still the alpha male in Ohio Valley. And if Danger has an issue with that, speak now or forever hold your peace. Danger panics and says ok, ok, the match is still on. Anthony lets go of his manager as there seems to have developed problems of philosophy the last month between Anthony & Danger, reaching a head here today on TV.
Match #2
Heidi Lovelace & Jessie Belle defeat The Blossom Twins @ 5:19 when Belle pinned Holly Blossom after a roll through and a handful of tights! A surprise action by the fan favorite Jessie Belle that gets some talking going amongst the combatants after the match. She is insistent that she did no such thing, and after some convincing, Holly questions herself that "maybe" she just "thought" Jessie pulled the tights for the win. The 4 combatants share a hug after the match with Lovelace set to defend the Women's Title at the Saturday Night Special against her tag team partner here in what should be a match in the pure spirit of competition between friends, meanwhile having no idea that Belle cheated here. The commentators wonder amongst themselves if this could be the start of something, and if maybe Belle will resort to similar tactics at the SNS.
-- Second commercial break --
Match #3
Paredyse defeats Raul Lamotta @ 4:53 via pinfall after The Long Kiss Goodnight, a forward STO. The Rudo loses yet again as the commentators comment that they might need to start keeping track of the streak at this point. Paredyse meanwhile makes a successful return to TV, but this gets quickly overshadowed when his opponent at the Saturday Night Special, The Pastor of Disaster Stuart Miles, is out. The Reverend says hello to all the sinners in Davis Arena and declares that after he makes Paredyse say those 2 magic words in their I Quit match, the flamboyant star will have no choice but to join The Congregation next week and denounce his lifestyle. Paredyse asks for a mic to answer back and tells Miles that will never happen because no matter what divine intervention Miles summons, he will say I Quit and the only cleansing going on after that will be Miles finally taking a shower to wash that disgusting stench out of him. The fans chant "you stink" at Miles as he is very assured of himself that in fact he does not. Paredyse says he does, and the stench is that of failure. 1 way or another, this feud ends at the SNS.
-- Third commercial break --
Before the next match, Big Rob Terry is out to talk with Gilbert. Terry tells him that he heard the words from Marcus Anthony earlier, but warns them not to underestimate him because he is not going to underestimate Anthony. Whatever the problems are or are not between Anthony and Timmy Danger, he is going to pay no mind to them because that is the biggest risk for him. This could all be a ploy to catch him when he least suspects it, so is going to be ready for anything and everything. At the Saturday Night Special, he will be the last man standing and he will become the new Ohio Valley Southern Heavyweight champion once again. Marcus Anthony is going down for the count "whether he wants to or not!"
Match #4
Ryan Howe & Metal Master defeat Chris Silvio & Dylan Bostic @ 7:34 when the Master pinned Bostic after a Jackhammer. Another pinfall on the reigning TV champion by the masked wrestler, on the heels of last week's non title win. The commentators make mention here that at the Saturday Night Special, it will be Metal Master challenging Bostic, and from all indications he would have to be the favorite right now heading in. The Rockstar and The Psychedelic Superstar meanwhile will also go 1 on 1 at the SNS to settle their grudge, but they played no role in the outcome in this match despite some back and forth. After the match, they wanted to settle it now and keep going and not wait til the Special and nobody was standing in their way from doing it! When it seemed apparent though to get the battle here and now, Silvio instead backed down and left. Not now he said, they do this at the SNS. Maybe some mind games by the more seasoned Silvio at the last minute.
-- Fourth commercial break --
Before the next match, both Jamin Olivencia and Rudy Switchblade are out to join at commentary, sitting at opposite ends of the desk. With their opponent in the 3 way dance at the Saturday Night Special, Jay Bradley, in action next, they are here to give their expert opinions.
Match #5
Jay Bradley defeats Robbie Walker @ 1:58 via pinfall after the Boomstick clothesline. A devastating win for The Ultimate Fighter that sends a strong message to his opponents for the SNS seated at commentary. His corner man Mongo was out, putting over a bad neck after taking a clothesline last week from Rob Terry on TV. After winning, Bradley requested a mic and would then say that as an example, he is not finished today. He wants a second opponent right now just to show Jamin Olivencia and Rudy Switchblade what he is capable of and that he can handle 2 men with ease. Walker's tag team partner Aaron Sky was at ringside and was quick to accept the challenge.
Match #6
Jay Bradley defeats Aaron Sky @ 2:41 via submission with the Rear Naked Choke. Bradley shows that he can do it all, pinfall or submission, but neither man on commentary is too concerned. Switchblade says that with all due respect, the 2 of them are more experienced than Sky or Walker and it will be both at the same time, not 1 on 1. His plan is to eliminate Bradley so that he can then silence any critics by making Jamin tap to the Boston Crab like he would have at the last SNS. Olivencia has to laugh at that because he beat Switchblade last time no matter what he says about refereeing, and charges him with using Josh Ashcraft's questionable past to his appease his ego. Before they can continue Bradley takes the mic again and says he sees the 2 of them arguing like school girls over there, but he is just getting started tonight. He wants a third match! And who better than 1 of them right now! Olivencia stands, but so does Switchblade. They start arguing about which 1 will accept the challenge. Referees are out and no arguing at the SNS, both will have their opportunity then. Bradley gets his opponents stirred up here as meanwhile he is left to watch with glee at his handy work.
-- Fifth commercial break --
Back from break and the commentators are ready to run down the card for the Saturday Night Special. Huge night at the Davis Arena on September 6 with a big lineup. 8 matches signed already, including 4 title matches.
- Metal Master challenges TV champion Dylan Bostic for the title.
- Heidi Lovelace defends the Women's Title against challenger Jessie Belle.
- Paredyse battles Rev. Stuart Miles in an I Quit match.
- Ryan Howe against Chris Silvio in a grudge match.
- Cliff Compton gets his match.
- Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion defend the Tag Team Title against Mohammad Ali Vaez & Rob Conway.
- 3 way dance with Jamin Olivencia, Rudy Switchblade, and Jay Bradley.
- Marcus Anthony defends the Southern Title against Rob Terry in a Last Man Standing match.
- Plus more!
And from there, Danny Davis is out to interrupt. Dean stands to allow him to speak, and he tells everybody that he is not here to take up much time, but he has something to say. Last month at the Saturday Night Special, his own nephew Doug Basham turned his back on him and his back on Ohio Valley by helping The Marauders against The Lords of The Ring. Since then, no sign of Basham or answers despite the pleas for it, but he has thought about it and wants to give Basham the chance to speak his mind. Open forum. Davis will be at the SNS, and he invites Basham to come. He wants answers, Nick Dinsmore wants answers, and heck, the people want answers. Make that they deserve answers! Add that to the SNS, assuming Basham has the guts to show.
Match #7
Mohammad Ali Vaez & Rob Conway defeat The Body Guy & The Body Guard @ 5:52 when Vaez pinned The Body Guy after hitting him with the running neck breaker. Despite having the Southern Tag Team Title shot at the Saturday Night Special, this was in fact the first teaming of the 2 wrestlers for a 2 on 2 tag team match since the shot was won through a singles match and picking of the partner. Both wrestlers are victims of The Marauders though, having had partners taken out by them. Despite this possible handicap, the 2 work well together against The Body Brigade, and their combined experience may be enough to overcome the inexperience as each other's partner. Body Guy does some mic work before the match and says that standing across from Conway, he has some tips for how he can lose that disgusting body of his because he knows that the Ironman only wishes he "had a body like mine!" Conway laughs as Dean calls Body Guy just straight up delusional. Gilbert wonders if maybe Body Guy just needs a good pair of glasses. The commentators make note that there was no sign this week of the Tag Team champions, and this comes just 1 week after Vaez took care of their manager and mastermind Bin Hamin. Could this be the crack in the foundation needed to finally take them down? Will Hamin even be at the SNS? All answers to come shortly. Don't miss the Saturday Night Special!
