Taped from The Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky on September 6, 2014
Released to DVD-R through website and at merchandise table
Southern Heavyweight champion: Marcus Anthony
Southern Tag Team champions: Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion
TV champion: Dylan Bostic
Women's champion: Heidi Lovelace
Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, and Michael Titus welcome viewers to the show. From a packed Davis Arena, it is the monthly Saturday Night Special and it does not get much bigger than this. Quite literally any bigger in the main event as for the Southern Heavyweight championship, Marcus Anthony defends against Rob Terry in a Last Man Standing match. Both wrestlers tip the scales with pure muscle mass, what will it take to put 1 of them down for the count? And for the winner of that, a 3 way dance between Jamin Olivencia, Rudy Switchblade, and Jay Bradley to determine a new #1 contender. The Tag Team Title is on the line when champions Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion meet the challenge of Mohammad Ali Vaez & Rob Conway, and with no sign of Bin Hamin or his men at TV, the questions have been raised on whether or not this marks the end for The Marauders. And finally, we heard the challenge on TV. Danny Davis is here, he has called out Doug Basham to show up tonight and face him in the ring. We all have questions for Basham, and hopefully tonight there are finally some answers. 9 big matches in all, let's get the action started ...

Match #1
Aaron Sky & Robbie Walker defeat Eddie Diamond & Bud Dwight, Nick Dumeyer & Elvis Pridemoore, and The Body Guy & The Body Guard in a 4 corners tag team match @ 5:42 when Sky pinned Pridemoore after a double superkick. A quick paced opener on the night sees a 4 tag teams, all looking to impress and maybe make a statement on Ohio Valley match maker Danny Davis. While they had racked up a couple recent wins on TV and at Kentucky Kingdom, there is nothing quite like the Saturday Night Special to make a mark for the rookies Sky & Walker. The favorites on paper had to be The Body Brigade in this match, which knowing the ego of The Body Guy, this loss has to drive him crazy.

Match #2
TV champion Dylan Bostic defeats Metal Master @ 8:27 via pinfall, thanks in large part to the outside interference of The Mexicutioner. As with July's Saturday Night Special when he won the championship, the Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling again relies on the big man's help to get the job done. The masked challenger had the match in hand, despite Bostic's repeated attempts to unmask him, hitting the Jackhammer on Bostic when The Mexcutioner pulled Bostic out of the ring before he could get covered. The referee warned The Mexicutioner and told him to leave ringside. As the 2 argued, Metal Master took to the ropes and bounced off to dive out onto the big man outside the ring taking him out. As Master was getting back into the ring, Bostic still on the outside grabbed his leg and pulled him off to slam his face on the edge of the ring. As he got back in, the referee questioned that move and turned his back on the action. Mexicutioner then grabbed Metal Master, lifted him into the powerbomb position, but instead ran him into a border toss style throw into the ringpost. Rolling him back in, Bostic covered as the referee turned around unaware of what had taken place. Bostic scores a very cheap win, but Dean thinks this is not the end of Metal Master after a lengthy undefeated run the last 2 months and going down in a tainted way like this. He will come back fighting.

Match #3
Ryan Howe defeats Chris Silvio @ 8:10 via submission using the Whammy Bar, his version of the Fujiwara arm bar. The 2 go back and forth with The Psychedelic Superstar resorting to his more dark attitude that we have seen signs of in recent weeks, moves like choking and a general lack of respect for The Rockstar. Titus on commentary says that is just a sign of how much Silvio dislikes Howe for what he feels was costing him the TV Title at the hands of Dylan Bostic in July. Silvio had control of the match and downed Howe. He readied for The Rocket Punch as Howe was getting up. As Howe turned, Silvio leaped into motion but Howe sidestepped him and grabbed the arm to force Silvio to the mat. From there Howe locked in the Whammy Bar and while Silvio tried his best, he was left with no choice but to tap out. A big win for Howe tonight that may be enough to put him alone in the TV Title picture and Silvio out of it. Although he may have his sight set on bigger things.

Match #4
The match was scheduled as Mr. Media Cliff Compton vs Rudo Raul Lamotta, but upon coming out Compton instead requested a mic. He told everybody here that when he was asking for a match for several weeks, for a chance, this was not it. Everybody knows he could wipe the floor with Lamotta since he can't even buy a victory these days and this is just a complete waste of his time. Everybody chants "1, 2, 3" at Lamotta, but he is going to give him what Ohio Valley won't give to Compton himself. He is forfeiting this match and your winner, Raul Lamotta!? Compton tells the referee to raise his hand and for them to leave before he changes his mind. He has a direct message for the Director of Authority TPT and Danny Davis. If this is what they think of him, there are a lot of other people around here and elsewhere that call him day after day wanting to book Mr. Media for their main event, so he doesn't need this crap. If they want to give rookies and nobody's a chance, it will not be at his expense. Compton leaves and the commentators wonder if this is the last they will see of Compton with an odd turn of events.
I Quit match
VS |
Match #5
Paredyse defeats Stuart Miles @ 9:03 in an I Quit match, after diving from the top rope onto Miles & his Altar Boy stacked on top of each other through a table. This match basically played out as a handicap match with The Pastor of Disaster using the added presence of The Altar Boy to give him an early advantage. After working Paredyse over, Miles tried using the threat of a forced baptism to get Paredyse to quit when nothing else seemed to be working. He refused though and instead broke free of Altar Boy's grasp and kicked Miles to butt their head together. As with Miles, Paredyse was having trouble getting the "I quit" out of his opponent, leading to the table spot. Paredyse gave Miles a chance to quit after being placed on the table, but Miles exclaimed "never!" instead. Paredyse then climbed up top and drove them both through. Miles was reluctant but finally uttered the words. As per the stipulations, the cleansing of Ohio Valley is over. Titus is disappointed as there was still so much cleansing needed of all the sinners. Dean said yeah cause Titus is the biggest sinner here!
Women's Title match

Match #6
Jessie Belle defeats Women's champion Heidi Lovelace @ 6:08 via pinfall using a cradle in the corner and her own feet on the ropes to steal the win and become the new Women's champion. After using similar questionable tactics with a handful of tights on TV to defeat The Blossom Twins, Belle repeats here tonight to end the 217 day reign of Lovelace that spanned over 7 months since winning the title at the February 1 Saturday Night Special. After the match The Blossom Twins were out to alert Lovelace to what had happened. Belle frantically denied the accusation, but sensing the mounting pressure of the truth, she would take the first opportunity to hit Lovelace from behind with the title belt when she turned her back on Belle. The new champion quickly exited the ring to booing as the fans got on her case but the southern belle just told them all to be quiet, all that mattered was that she had the title now. The Blossoms checked on Lovelace as Dean wondered what had gotten into Jessie Belle to bring about this change in attitude? Titus says he is not sure, but he likes it!
Tag Team Title match
VS |
Before the match, Shiloh Jonze came out with Fabiano Rolento. No Bin Hamin, no French Stallion either. What is going on here? Shiloh tells them that because of what Mohammad Ali Vaez did to their manager, he is gone. The fans cheer before he tells them to shut up and continues that The Stallion is also not here, so because of that, the title match is off! The challengers seemed to question this. Rob Conway took the mic for some comedy and said that he can relate because he was after all a sympathizer to the French at 1 point, so he knows that every last 1 of them is nothing but a coward at heart! The judgment call was announced by the referee that if Stallion does not show, the champions forfeit the title to Conway & Vaez to a big pop. Jonze said no repeatedly as the referee started a count. Just then, from behind, Stallion slides in from out of nowhere and hits Conway & Vaez from behind to get the match started, revealing it was just a cheap ploy to try and get out of the title defense as expected.
Match #7
Mohammad Ali Vaez & Rob Conway defeat Tag Team champions Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion @ 12:57 via count out when the champions walked out on the match. After a hard hitting affair, Conway had seemingly pinned The French Stallion after a Whiplash, only for Fabiano Rolento to put Stallion's foot on the ropes. Referee Jordan Barker saw only the foot and stopped his count, but Conway knew exactly what happened and headed out to the floor to confront Rolento. Vaez was out from behind and the third wheel was boxed in to take a right hand from the Ironman. After Rolento was eliminated, the challengers went in pursuit of Jonze & Stallion, but they quickly grabbed their championship belts and fled away like thieves in the night. Conway & Vaez told Barker not to count, but he had no choice by this point and once it reached 10, the bell was called for. The fans boo the decision, not wanting to see it end like this. Titus says to look at that, the fans are booing Conway & Vaez, they want to see The Marauders win! Dean says that's bunk and Titus knows it! What a bunch of cowards! Conway & Vaez come close, but ultimately fail thanks to the champions showing that they have no shame whatsoever and it is just about keeping those title belts at all costs. This ain't over though.

Match #8
Jamin Olivencia defeats Rudy Switchblade and Jay Bradley in a 3 way dance @ 14:28 by pinning Switchblade after hitting him with The O Drop. After weeks and months of the "who is the best?" back and forths, Olivencia finally puts an exclamation point on the issue with this win to become the new #1 contender for the next chance at the Southern Heavyweight championship after tonight, but not without a fight first. Switchblade was out of the picture as Bradley ducked a clothesline from Olivencia and hit the ropes to come back with the Boomstick. 1 on 1 that might be all she wrote as he went for the cover, but just before the 3, Switchblade was back in to break it up. The action continued with Switchblade eventually getting Bradley into the Boston Crab, but before he could tap, Olivencia took advantage of the positioning and surprised Switchblade with the leaping body scissors into a DDT, his finishing move the O Drop. Olivencia covered as Bradley tried to get over and break up the cover, but was unable to muster the strength to get there in time. Olivencia has a date with destiny against the winner of the Last Man Standing match later tonight between Rob Terry and champion Marcus Anthony, set for October 11 at Rage In The Cage on iPPV.
| CALLS OUT |
Big moment now as the founder of NWA Ohio Valley, Danny Davis, is out. Davis starts by reminding fans of the rich history of tradition here, dating back to the first days back in the mid 90s. If there was a Mount Rushmore of wrestlers here, many would put Nick Dinsmore, The Ironman Rob Conway, The Damaja ... which gets a nice pop and acknowledgement from Davis for the fact he seldom gets mention these days, but anybody that saw the early days knows what he meant. And the 4th face would be his own nephew Doug Basham as the fans boo. The man that last month at the Saturday Night Special turned his back on Ohio Valley by siding with The Marauders and turning his back on Dinsmore, on Conway, on Davis himself, even on all the fans. Davis tells everybody he has waited for a response for weeks now but got nothing. He extended the invitation tonight to Basham to show up and get an open mic to explain his actions last month. With that, he invites Basham out and awaits an answer.
From not the back, but instead where the audience walks in to get seated, heads turn as Doug Basham heads out through the sold out Davis Arena and approaches the barrier. Davis tells the security to let him through. Basham heads into the ring and takes a mic with everybody wondering "Why Doug? Why?" for the last month, maybe now finally getting an answer. Basham starts by telling Davis that he wants to start off by apologizing for his actions. They were completely uncalled for, and while he didn't see it at the time, he realizes today after having had time to think it over, why that was not the right time to do what he did. That match was about more than his own personal vendetta with Nick Dinsmore & Rob Conway, it was about Ohio Valley. About America vs the rest of the world, good vs evil, right vs wrong, and the 2 of them saw that, but he was too blind as to what was going on with the big picture. When he volunteered to be in their corner, he just saw it as a chance to get 1 over on his 2 most heated rivals from the hey day here. Having seen what those foreigners do though, and that it seems Ohio Valley is winning the war with Bin Hamin gone and a near Tag Team Title change earlier tonight, he has seen the light. He not only wants to apologize, but help Danny Davis, help Ohio Valley. He has been away from the wrestling business a long time now. Started a business, made some good money. His offer as he stands here now is to buy NWA Ohio Valley! A pin dropping could be heard as Davis seems taken back by this. Before Danny can answer, Doug tells him to face it. This is 2014. Danny Davis is not what he used to be. He had to go out and hire a Director of Authority, he can't keep control of things, and he can't be the physical presence that he needs to be. Basham can. Basham can not only keep charge, but he can bring Ohio Valley to the next level through his investment and the money he has. The best years of Danny Davis are behind him. He wants Davis to have a look at it and maybe it will change his mind. Davis takes the check and seems impressed as he mouths out a wow. Basham tells him that is just a down payment and there is tons more where that came from. Take the money and run, go to Florida, wherever. This is not just about Basham, this is about saving Danny Davis from himself and the torment that running Ohio Valley takes on his mind and his health. Davis says he has thought about the sunny beaches of Florida many times, especially those rare winter nights when the Davis Arena is half full and half the roster cancels because nobody can drive through the blizzard of snow to get here. But at the end of the day, he would not trade it for all the beaches in the world and with that, rips up the check to a big pop.
Basham surprisingly applauds the action himself, almost in a mocking way though. He says that is what has kept Ohio Valley going. The spirit of Danny Davis, the passion of these fans. And that is why he wants to fight alongside Dinsmore. Alongside Conway. Bring those foreigners to their knees and drive them out of Ohio Valley. If he can't be in control, then he'll fight alongside to make sure that his uncle keeps it. Davis says he's not sure where this is coming from, but it seems like a new leaf has been turned, or an old leaf is just changing colors and is still the same as it always was. Is this the same Doug Basham that started The Revolution back in 2001 to take over? Or is this the same Doug Basham that he helped break into the business years before that? He appreciates the offer, but he doesn't know whether he can trust Doug or not given his shady past, nevermind recent actions. And he would be shocked if Conway would ever give him a second chance. Plus, like Doug himself said, Ohio Valley is winning the war now. They might be without Dinsmore right now, but Bin Hamin, that piece of human trash is gone. The head has been cut off the snake. The rest of that group will fall. They will fail because without leadership, they are just lemmings going off a cliff at this point.
That comments brings out Shiloh Jonze. It brings out The French Stallion. And it brings out Fabiano Rolento, with the Iraqi flag rolled up. Davis tells them to back off as the 3 get on the apron, ready to enter the ring. Basham takes the mic and says that the 3 of them need to stand down right now. He may not be a wrestler any more, but he will fight if he has to for what he believes in. This is about Ohio Valley, and it is about family. This is his uncle, and he'll be damned if anybody else is going to put their hands on him. The 3 look put off at that while the fans seem to be starting to get behind Basham. Maybe he is the real deal here? Maybe he can be trusted? Even Davis lets down his guard a bit at Basham's spiel. He repeats that he'll be damned if anybody else is going to put their hands on him ... because he is going to get his hands on him first! And with that Davis turns to Basham to take a kick to the mid section. Davis drops to his knees as Basham says that this whole time, everybody thought Bin Hamin was in charge? He was just a patsy. A figurehead to distract from the real mastermind. Basham needed to put into place the instability before he made his move. So while everybody was hating on Bin Hamin, they failed to see the bigger picture. In fact it was back on April 19 right here on TV that the camera caught Shiloh & The Stallion speaking about a benefactor, and when Hamin arrived, everybody had assumed it was him. No. Wrong. Basham was the benefactor! Basham was the bank roller! He has been secretly funding the group this entire time! This isn't a snake. It's a leviathan, and you can't kill it because there is no head. It's about a cause, made up of beliefs. The belief that Danny, your time is finished. It's time for a new generation. It's time for a Revolution!
And with that comment, Basham picks up Davis and locks him in to drive him to the mat with the X Tornado, the super spinning single arm DDT. As Davis goes down, Rolento unfurls the flag. It turns out it is in fact not the Iraqi flag, but rather just a black flag. The flag for anarchy, and it gets symbolically placed over the lifeless body of Davis laying on the mat. And with that, the wrestlers start pouring out. Aaron Sky jumps to the apron, Jonze knees him down. Robbie Walker slides in, Rolento stomps a mud hole in him and kicks him back out. Eddie Diamond gets to the apron, but Stallion charges to hit him off with The French Connection, a running boot to the face. Bud Dwight heads in via the top rope, but jumps into a right hand from Basham. The first wave fails miserably to save Davis, but here comes some more! Paredyse is out and gets in. Ryan Howe is out and gets in, but both get taken out. It does however give some time for Rob Conway & Mohammad Ali Vaez to get in and actually start getting an upper hand. Trailer Park Trash, the D.O.A., is out with a chair! He gets into the ring as Basham hops out. The others follow. TPT stands with the equalizer as Basham and crew head out the side door. The focus turns to the welfare of Danny Davis. The Revolution 2.0 for lack of better term so far has struck, and by Davis' own words, cut off the head of a snake and the rest will fall. Has Basham done just that to Ohio Valley by taking out Danny Davis in his quest to take it over?

Match #9
Dark match not included on DVD release
Mary Elizabeth Monroe defeats Ray Lynn @ 0:48 via submission with The Rainbow Cross, a modified STF. What is in actuality just an extremely short cool down match exclusively for the live crowd to catch their breath so as not to come directly off that last segment into the main event, the match sees the newcomer Monroe put away Lynn in seconds with her finisher as Lynn goes for a suplex, but Monroe reverses, holds on, and rolls through into the Cross to get the tap out.
Last Man Standing match for the Southern Title

Match #10
Southern champion Marcus Anthony defeats Rob Terry in a Last Man Standing match @ 12:35 to retain the title. A hard hitting affair main events the night with both wrestlers trying their hardest to put away the other and keep them down for the 10 count. Terry seemed to be closing in, hitting his signature move The Thrust Spinebuster to get Anthony down. The champ's manager Timmy Danger would get involved at this point of the match, getting on the apron and trying to slow referee Chris Sharpe's count. He was able to ignore it, but Terry did not as he grabbed Danger and brought him in over the top rope by flipping him over onto the mat. As the count got up there, Terry chose to focus on the manager by pointing to him and asking fans if they wanted him to finish Danger. The manager begged for mercy as Anthony was able to beat the 10 count up barely, unaware to the challenger. Danger pointed out Anthony was up as Terry turned around and was met with the Gamma Punch to put him down. The referee started counting again with Terry getting to his hands and knees by 8. As he reached for the ropes to get up, he instead collapsed down to the mat and the referee reached 10. Anthony retains as Terry cannot meet the 10 count. The referee gets the title to hand to Anthony, but Danger quickly grabs it away and starts to gloat with it. Anthony looks on unimpressed with this, something Danger finally picks up on and hands him his championship. Anthony overcomes the odds, wrestling this match only 5 weeks after suffering a hand injury at the last Saturday Night Special, and against the advice and wishes of the gloating Timmy Danger who had told his man not to wrestle over the weekend broadcast. The title survives tonight, but there seems to be cracks forming in the foundation and defending the title inside a Steel Cage next month where Danger's physical is completely nullified could be enough to turn those cracks into full blown separations.
And on that note, no rest for the wicked because as we found out earlier, Jamin Olivencia is the new #1 contender, and at the Rage In The Cage iPPV will get his chance in the long anticipated showdown between the 2 for the Southern Title against Marcus Anthony inside the Steel Cage where the outside interference that plagued his only other 1 on 1 title opportunity will be eliminated. And what about what happened with Danny Davis and Doug Basham? The Revolution has apparently not only begun but has been in effect for months now, and tonight Basham took a big step toward maybe realizing his goal of a hostile takeover. Rage In The Cage is Saturday night, October 11, 2014 from The Davis Arena. Don't miss it!
