Southern Heavyweight champion: Marcus Anthony
Southern Tag Team champions: Aaron Sky & Robbie Walker
TV champion: Dylan Bostic
Women's champion: Jessie Belle
Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, and Michael Titus welcome viewers to the show. Last week here on TV we saw new Tag Team champions crowned as the unlikely young team of Aaron Sky & Robbie Walker surprised Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion. Titus wants credit given where it is due and that is to the interference of Michael Hayes! That is right Dean says, Michael Hayes is back and he is member #1 of Team OVW for the War Games to battle Doug Basham's group The Blacklist. Today on TV, we find out the rest of the team. Also here today, Paredyse challenges TV champion Dylan Bostic for the title following his non title victory 2 weeks ago on TV, Southern champion Marcus Anthony is in non title action, the femmes fatale are here as The Blossom Twins battle The Mean Girls in tag team action. And speaking of tag team action, that is what will kick off the broadcast here this week ...
Match #1
Rob Terry & Eddie Diamond defeat Nick Dumeyer & Elvis Pridemoore @ 5:13 when Diamond made Pridemoore tap out to the Cripwalk Crossface. 2 of the 5 wrestlers that have qualified for the King of The Valley ladder match at the iPPV team up today with the biggest of the lot and probably the favorite teaming with the smallest and the underdog of the match. During the match, Chris Silvio came out and joined commentary to give his expert opinion, that being he will win the match and get the guaranteed shot. All the rest of the wrestlers in the match can't tie his laces, let alone stand in the same ring as him. These comments bring out Rockstar Ryan Howe, who also joins commentary on the other side to say that he heard Silvio's comments and while he might not be able to tie Silvio's boots, he can make him tap like he did to the Whammy Bar at the Saturday Night Special. Silvio says that is great, but in case Howe has not noticed, this is a ladder match meaning while he is trying to use his little submission, Silvio will be climbing up the ladder and winning the match. Howe says not when Silvio is the 1 in the submission, tapping out like he did at the SNS. Tension is high as the iPPV approaches.
-- First commercial break --
Back from the break and the new Southern Tag Team champions Aaron Sky & Robbie Walker, now dubbed The Skywalkers, join Gilbert at ringside. First off a congratulations on the big win last week and Gilbert asks them if they ever imagined winning a title so early in their careers? Sky tells the fans that they have all of them to thank for the victory and the inspiration that got them to where they are today. They may be young, they may be inexperienced, but now they are the Tag Team champions and nobody can take that away from them. Walker adds his piece, saying that he knows tag teams are going to try and take advantage of their vulnerability, but together they are tougher than they look. Ohio Valley is in for a surprise. The entrance of The Body Brigade disrupts the interview as The Body Guy tells the champs to watch what they do next.
Match #2
The Body Guy & The Body Guard defeat Raul Lamotta & Deonta Davis @ 4:18 when The Body Guard forced Davis into submission with a bearhug. As with 2 weeks ago and the underdog qualifier for the King of The Valley, Lamotta wanted no part of this match. Midway through, rather than take a tag from Davis, he dropped off the apron and casually headed over to commentary. Lamotta again proclaimed himself to be "the winner" now and that he wants real competition, basically doing the exact same thing Cliff Compton did to him. He even offered his services for Team OVW in the War Games. Dean told him to get lost, maybe get his head checked too because TPT will pick his nose before he picks Lamotta. He won 1 match via forfeit, relax pal. The Body Brigade meanwhile picks up a win thanks in large part to the brute strength of The Body Guard.
-- Second commercial break --
Before the next match, Jamin Olivencia was out to join at commentary. He is slated to challenge Marcus Anthony for the Southern Title on October 11 at Rage In The Cage, the first iPPV offering from Ohio Valley.
Match #3
Southern champion Marcus Anthony defeats Bud Dwight in a non title match @ 3:52 via submission to the Crimson Omen, his Full Nelson. The Party Starter goes down in easy defeat to the beast-like Anthony, who as stated last week, is now apparently at 100%. Jamin Olivencia on commentary states that while he will admit that Anthony seems to be unstoppable, he think he can defeat him because there are 2 things working against him. First, he had Anthony beaten in their only 1 on 1 match and lost to outside interference because he knows something nobody else does, and secondly, this match is in a Steel Cage which means no interference. Titus says Olivencia's bluffing and he knows no weakness because Anthony does not have 1. We will just have to wait and see.
-- Third commercial break --
Before the next match, Women's champion Jessie Belle & her father Tracy Smothers are out to talk with Gilbert. Belle tells him that the person who gave her the inspiration was her own father, the dirtiest player in the south. He is the 1 who said forget the fans, forget the rules, do whatever it takes. Gilbert questions this advice, but Smothers barks back to shut up! All these fans out here do nothing but rag on talented wrestlers like his daughter. Anybody wants to boo her, they gotta boo through him first because this is "daddy's girl" and don't nobody even look at daddy's girl without his permission first. Smothers then accuses Gilbert of looking at his daughter, which he denies. Smothers tells him to look the other way, leading to Gilbert having to awkwardly hold the mic while staring in the opposite direction. Any women out there in this ditch of a town want a shot at this right here? Too bad! From now on daddy's in charge and any challenger has gotta go through him first! Dean & Titus joke that match may have to censored knowing Tracy Smothers reputation in the south.
Match #4
Taeler Hendrix & Scarlett Bordeaux defeat The Blossom Twins @ 5:40 when Taeler pinned Hannah Blossom with a rollup after butting her head into Scarlett's head. As with recent weeks, much of the match was just verbal abuse towards the #3 ranked Mean Girl according to Taeler's words last week. She also wore Scarlett's Miss OVW tiara down to the ring, having taken it last week for herself. While The Blossoms seemed to be about to take the win, Taeler managed to instead butt heads and sacrifice her own partner to take the win. Afterward Scarlett was favoring her head while Taeler told her to suck it up, something she is used to doing every night at the bars here in Louisville for a few bucks. Nikki laughs like it is the greatest joke in the world as Dean says that is sucking it up if he ever saw it. Titus meanwhile told Dean to be quiet in case Taeler has any more comedy gold to share with us.
-- Fourth commercial break --
TV champion Dylan Bostic defeats Paredyse to retain the title @ 9:16 via pinfall after using the jumping back cracker. A back and forth match, but Bostic is able to retain the title in the end, and without interference from The Mexicutioner that has both Dean & Gilbert impressed vs his normal routine. Titus says Bostic is unstoppable! Bostic requests a mic afterward and says that he has retained the title again and there is nobody in Ohio Valley that can stop him. He should even get Paredyse's spot in the King of The Valley match because of this, but it doesn't matter anyway. He will just beat the Southern champion the old fashion way after Rage In The Cage, and he guesses that he will just have to take October 11 off because let's face it, there are no challengers deserving of a shot. And with that the lights go out! Titus says Danny Davis forgot to pay the electric bill again. When they come back on, Bostic & The Mexicutioner are outside the ring now, confused. In the ring, it is Metal Master! The masked wrestler stands, pointing over at Bostic. When Bostic notices, Metal Master gives a throat slit and Bostic takes a phantom bump as The Mexicutioner tries to help him back up. Despite his best efforts, it seems somebody disagrees with Bostic out here.
-- Fifth commercial break --
Back from break and Rudy Switchblade joins Gilbert for some words. Switchblade tells him that he heard what Jay Bradley, The Ultimate Wannabe, had to say a couple weeks ago. Switchblade lost the match, he was better, etc. Well last week, Switchblade made sure that Jamin Olivencia set the record straight when Bradley tried to escape like he always does. If Bradley wants a challenge, if he wants to back up his words, Switchblade has nothing going on October 11 at Rage In The Cage. How about it Jay? If everything you say is true, if you actually believe all that B.S. you spew each week to these fans, then it'll be easy. After all, you're The Ultimate Fighter right? Well Switchblade himself knows a thing or 2 about submissions and he intends to have Bradley tapping to the Boston Crab.
At this point, the announcement gets made that next Saturday, NWA Ohio Valley TV will be an hour earlier at 9pm central on WBNA-TV 21. That is because at 10pm central in the regular time slot, it will be the Saturday Night Special! That is right, this month the Special will air to TV as we head into Rage In The Cage on iPPV the following Saturday, October 11. All that is known so far for the SNS is the contract signing for the big Jamin Olivencia vs Marcus Anthony Steel Cage match. Next week, be on WBNA-TV at 9pm central for 2 big hours of TV. For viewers of RetroTV 21.4, you can catch the SNS on Sunday night at 7pm central after Ohio Valley TV in its regular time slot.
TPT heads out to announce Team OVW!
Last week we found out that The Blacklist would be Shiloh Jonze, Mohammad Ali Vaez, Fabiano Rolento, and even Doug Basham himself. An offer was made to Mr. Media Cliff Compton to join them, but before he could accept or deny, they were interrupted by TPT. Later on we found out that Michael Hayes was member #1 on Team OVW after returning to help The Skywalkers beat The Marauders and win the Tag Team Title. Today on TV, TPT will announce the remaining 4 members. He heads out and is joined by Hayes to a big pop from fans. TPT wants to start by once again welcoming Hayes back to Ohio Valley and back to the Davis Arena. Last week, he had to sit back and listen to Basham go on about his master plan to weaken Ohio Valley and leave it prone for his take over. Seeing that from an uncle to a nephew, that makes him sick to his stomach, but it also motivates him even more to win this match for Danny. As such, there was no shortage of wrestlers knocking his door down to join Team OVW. You wanna know who they are? Well come on down!
And with that, out comes Mohammad Ali Vaez, followed by The Ironman Rob Conway. 2 wrestlers have had their share of problems with The Blacklist over months now. They get in the ring, but that is only 2, 3 with Hayes. TPT says that when Basham named himself a member of his team, he considered doing the same, that is until he got a call from this man. A man that Basham turned his back on, stabbed a knife in there and just twisted it like cold steel. They have a long history and on October 11, a new chapter gets written, and hopefully the final chapter. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Wrestling, Nick Dinsmore! The fans pop as the music hits and out comes Dinsmore. He has not been seen or heard from here since way back on August 2 when Basham turned his back on him, acting as cornerman during a Tag Team Title match that night. The anger that has built up in him over the last 2 months is going to be Basham's undoing according to Dean.
As Dinsmore gets in the ring, he takes the mic to address the fans. Everybody has been wondering, where has he been? He came back to Ohio Valley to take out the group known then as The Marauders and end them and their threat because he did not like what they stood for. What he did not expect through it all was the actions of Doug Basham. Selfish, looking out for himself, and now we know why. Basham was the bank roller for the group, the mastermind behind it all, looking to take over Ohio Valley. He made 1 big mistake through it all though. He put himself into the War Games. That was all Dinsmore needed for the motivation to come back. Now on October 11, he will get to put his hands on Basham 1 more time. The man who in 2003 tried to end his career with a knee injury. The bad blood runs deep between them like a crimson river. At Rage In The Cage, Dinsmore is going to stop the bleeding for good because it ends in War Games. Basham fails and Davis prevails! As for member #5, they want to invite Cliff Compton out!
The man courted to be man #5 on The Blacklist is now heading to the ring. Is Cliff Compton in fact on Team OVW?! He gets in the ring and Dinsmore tells him that he remembers when Compton was just getting started here in Ohio Valley. Nobody took him seriously, nobody wanted to give him a chance. But then the next day, he's rechristened Domino, getting his chance here, getting his chance there and everybody knows where that is. It is because of the opportunities given to rookies and young wrestlers here that Compton even has a career today! He might have felt disrespected lately by them, but the fact is Danny Davis and TPT owed Compton nothing. You gotta prove yourself daily here. But Compton on the other hand does owe them in Dinsmore's opinion. He owes OVW. And he can repay that service on Saturday October 11 at Rage In The Cage on iPPV. Be the 5th man on Team OVW. Eliminate the cancer here that is Doug Basham.
Compton is about to speak when from the back comes the man himself. Doug Basham is out with a mic in hand, mirrored by the 3 members of The Blacklist. Basham tells Compton not to listen to this garbage. He knows just like Compton knows, this is all a use and abuse and throw them to the wolves scenario. Team OVW wins, nothing changes. Compton did what he did, but so what? Davis and TPT have shown they don't care for him. The Blacklist wins though and Compton gets the headline treatment. He knows because it's like he said last week, Davis did the same to Basham a decade ago. He ruined his career, he will ruin Compton's career! Basham though will bring in the NWA's best. Compton vs Samoa Joe. Compton vs AJ Styles. Compton vs Daniel Bryan. He will be the next Steve Austin, the next Hulk Hogan. Cliff Compton will be what Doug Basham should have been and then some, but never was thanks to Davis. At least not yet. It's too late for Basham, but it's not too late for Compton. But he has to choose The Blacklist because if he chooses Team Davis, he'll be a loser. And Basham does not associate himself with losers because after War Games, not only will TPT be out of the job as D.O.A., but everybody on Team OVW will be ancient history because he will fire every last 1 of them. Compton is caught between the 2 teams. Deep thought as he looks back and forth.
We're out of time though! Don't miss next week, and don't miss us an hour earlier at 9pm central next Saturday night on WBNA-TV 21 for TV and the Saturday Night Special. What will Compton do?! Which team will he side with, if either?! Tune in next week and find out!
