The newly rechristened NWA Impact, and it’s starting with a 2 hour show. The Redlight Kings hit song “Bullet in my hand”, before cutting to “The voice of Impact” Joey Styles and his broadcast partner “The Impact Intellectual” Don Callis. Joey Styles was very excited to welcome the television audience to the NEW NWA Impact, with a fantastic main event. The NWA World Heavyweight champion, Sheamus will team with his Breaking Point opponent “The Timber Wolf” Davey Richards to take on the BLK OUT! Also tonight the debuts of Yoshitsune, Jon Moxley and more! But first Prince Nana and the embassy.
The show cuts to the interview area with The Embassy; Prince Nana, Josh Daniels, John Walters, Brandon Bonham and a new face to NWA Impact Austin Clay. Austin Clay is a massive fullback looking man who Prince Nana touts as the answer to the BLK OUT’s John Cena. In the gang war you have to have the biggest dogs for the fight and Austin Clay is that big dog.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Pure Dynamite (John Walters & Josh Daniels) def. RUSH (Brian Mendez & Eric Crane)
This was a showcase match for the talents of Pure Dynamite as they faced off against the local tag tam of RUSH, who are a pair of X division style high flyers. Mendez favored a lucha style that was pretty exciting until the technically gifted Pure Dynamite got rolling and after a flying headbutt off the top onto Crane, Pure Dynamite were able to come away with a victory to kick off Adrenaline.
Colt Cabana is in the ring following the commercial break, and he’s fuming over the fact that “The Second City Saint” Ace Steel has come to NWA Impact and has caused Cabana to have no wins so far in 2012. The ranting draws out Steel who keeps his distance from Cabana, staying on the entrance way. Steel tries to calm down Colton and lets him know that he’s not trying to hurt him, all he wants to do is help Colton realize his potential. Steel is actually here to motivate Colton, so tonight he’s actually secured Cabana a television title match against Mike Elgin!
SINGLES MATCH
“The New Horror” Sami Callihan def. “Cryonic” Zack Reznor
The martial arts master Reznor went one on one with one of the most unorthodox athletes on the Impact roster. Reznor used his educated feet to light up “The New Horror” but the pain only drove Callihan to a higher level as he launched his body around the ring hitting Reznor with offense more akin to a 300lbs. Callihan was able to snap off the headlock driver on Reznor to come away with the pinfall.
The show cuts to the backstage area where Breaking Point opponents, Sheamus and Davey Richards cross paths. Tonight these two have to team together to face the BLK OUT. After an intense stare down between both men, Sheamus and Richards shake hands and exchange respects before Sheamus let Richards know that tonight he has his back but at Breaking Point he’s going to put Richards on his back… Fella.
SINGLES MATCH
Austin Clay w/ The Embassy def. John Cena w/ The BLK OUT
These two men started the match off with a knuckle lock up, and neither man could get the power advantage, which really shocked Cena who up to this point hasn’t really met his match in the strength department when it comes to the Impact locker room. Cena was able to grind out this match and put on a great showing but once things broke down on the outside like they always seem to do when these two factions meet, it gave Clay the opportunity to hit the Codebreaker on Cena for the win.
SINGLES MATCH
Kenny Omega def. “The Best in the World” Bryan Danielson
Bryan Danielson has developed a mean streak, considering himself the best wrestler in the world but not main eventing cards here in NWA Impact. So this spelled bad things for Omega who had to face off against a very angry Dragon. This match was a great one to watch, but the ref ended up getting sandwiched in the corner when Omega tried to fight out of a crossface chickenwing attempt by Danielson. While the ref was down CM Punk ran to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd, and again interfered in Danielson’s match hitting AmDrag with a huge superkick, pulling Omega over Danielson, and slipping out of the ring peeking over the apron as the ref came around to count the pinfall victory for Omega, who was completely shocked at the result.
SINGLES MATCH
“The Impact Rockstar” Jason Hades w/ Ms.Behave def. Yoshitsune
This was a great match to showcase the exciting X division here in NWA Impact with two incredible young athletes the pace was fast, and if you blinked you most likely missed something exciting. Yoshitsune was the face in this match and with Hades help really endeared himself to the crowd. Yoshitsune ended up getting hit with a low blow by Hades out of the line of sight from the ref, and Hades used the opportunity to hit the breath taking Killswitch.
After the match Hades got on the microphone and directed some strong words towards AJ Styles, letting Styles know that he’s only holding the title until Hades is able to get the title shot he deserves. Styles is the old, it’s a new year and it’s time to usher in the new generation of the X division!
SINGLES MATCH
“The Physical Genius” Jon Moxley def. “The Messiah of the Backbreaker” Roderick Strong w/ RD Evans
Roderick Stong learned an important lesson on this night, just because it’s their debut doesn’t mean that there a push over. Moxley surprised Roderick from the opening bell with a very surgical offense picking apart “The Messiah” and punishing him with smart brutality. Roderick Strong relied on his backbreaker variations the move that’s made him so reknowned to keep him alive in this match, but Moxley is so intelligent that he had a lot of Strong’s offense scouted ahead of time, and ended up pinning Stong after an Air Raid Crash.
NWA IMPACT TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
“Unbreakable” Mike Elgin© w/ Elwood Gately def. Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana
Even though Ace Steel has been a thorn in the side of Cabana, Colt wasn’t about to look a gift horse in the match as he faced off against the TV champion. Elgin took this challenge very seriously, in fact he takes everything very seriously as he took the fight to Cabana. Elgin was dominating using his power to man handle Cabana. Which eventually lead to Ace Steel coming to ringside to watch the match. The match continued with Cabana starting to get the upperhand, trying desperatly to put away the TV champ. But Elgin would kick out of every attempt until Cabana started to get visibly frustrated. At this point Steel would slide a steel chair into the ring for Cabana who ignored it at first, but after another failed pin attempt a hot headed Cabana started beating the hell out of the Tv champion with repeated chair shots causing the ref to call for the bell awarding Elgin the victory via disqualification.
Once the bell rang and Tim Petty made the announcement, you could see the look of shock on the face of Cabana who realized at that point what he’s done. He’s lost another match, once he registered that it’s because Steel offered him the chair, he turned his attention to Steel. Cabana’s eyes filled with rage but Steel was able to slip away in the crowd before Cabana could chase after him.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Sheamus & Davey Richards vs. BLK OUT (Alex Colon & Ruckus) w/ The BLK OUT
This was an exciting main event as Richards started this match off, and ended up getting caught in the wrong side of town as the BLK OUT cut off the ring and tried to pick apart Richards who tried valiantly to battle back but the BLK OUT is just a very cohesive team. Richards was able to hit a great high kick on Colon sending him reeling long enough to make the tag to Sheamus who cleaned house as the crowd popped wildly for the World Heavyweight champion! Sheamus was able to weave Colon through the ropes, pounding away at his chest, before turning his attention to Ruckus, bringing him into the ring the hard way for a burtal Brogue kick! Richards made the blind tag on Sheamus and got back into the match spiking Colon with the DR Driver giving his team the win. After the match Sheamus called for a couple of guiness’s throwing one to Richards. They started having a beer bash, but Sheamus’ demeanour changed as he blindsided Richards with a brogue kick sending beer flying as the show ended with the World Champion standing over his challenger!
