Alexander meets Titus at the ramp. Alexander is kicking the crap out of Titus. He throws Titus in the ring. Titus catches Cedric with boot to the head. Rhett then takes off his tape, and choke Cedric with it. Titus then picks Cedric up for a suplex, but he blocks it. Alexander then hits a brainbuster on Titus. He picks him up hits the Lumbar Check for the win. Winner and still U.S. Heavyweight Champion Cedric Alexander.
Windy City Women's Title - First Blood MatchApirl Davids (c) vs. Paige
A rematch of their Steel Cage Match last month in Windy City, Paige looked to regain the Womens Championship she lost to April Davids and was very vicious throughout this fight, as she looked to slap, punch, claw and scratch April until she bled.
April was very resilient and hammered Paige when she was on offence with some very big power moves, hitting a Double-Arm Bridged Suplex which normally would have probably gotten a three count but of course this is a first blood match!
Paige was back-up and tossed April to the mat with her hair, and latched on a Cloverleaf while kneeling on April's back. Keeping April in the hold for a while, Paige realises she cannot win by submission and releases the hold happy that it has had the desired effect of weakening the champion.
The challenger lifts up April and lands some high knee lifts into the face of April, one after another, and then asks the ref to check for blood. The ref checks but April is ok! Paige is back onto her and lands some multiple head-butts and again tells the ref to check for blood! He checks but again April is fine!
Having had enough, Paige slides to the outside and picks up a chair. She lines up a chair shot - a shot that would surely finally bust open the scar tissue that Paige inflicted upon April when she busted her open recently in Windy City, but April ducks and double-legs Paige down to the mat. April mounts her and fires home a series of punches to the downed Paige. Back to her feet she scoops up Paige and turns her upside down, her legs catch the ref and he goes down. April positions Paige for an inverted tombstone. She finds the chair and plants Paige down hard onto the chair and Paige is busted open!
April Davids is up and checking on the ref, trying to drag him back up. April wipes her head with her arm in exhaustion and pulls with all her might and drags the limp body of the ref to his feet. The ref leaning on April face towards her, comes too a little, he looks at April and signals for the bell.
The ref stumbles away and April celebrates her win!
After a brief chat with the ref, the ring announcer announces the winner and the NEW Womens Champion, Paige!
April looks down at the out-cold Paige and is confused, a close-up camera shot zooms in on April and she see's herself up on the big screen. A smear of Paige's blood across her forehead. The look on her face says it all! April tries to remonstrate with the referee that the blood is not her blood, it's Paige's, but it's all too late and we have a new Womens Champion in Paige!

Living Legends Match
Sean Waltman vs. Shane Helms
This match pitted the 42 year old Sean Waltman against the 40 year old Shane Helms, two true legends of the sport. Windy City colour commentator Paul Heyman joined the commentary team for this match and immediately put forward the idea that Waltman is too old, to jaded with all his past self-abuse and if he is lucky enough to win tonight against Helms, he should be happy to retire and call himself the NWA Legends Champion - because with the likes of AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan about - he's never going to end his last year as a professional wrestler with a major title around his waist as he aimed to do, gas or no gas!
Josh Matthews tells Heyman he's really not sure where Heyman is getting these ideas from, with his keep alluding that Sean Waltman's resurgence is due to a little chemical assistance. Heyman just says that Waltman is desperate to win major gold, and anybody who has the balls to put a noose around his neck and step off the chair, definitely has it in him to stick a few needles in his rear to try and get ahead!
Matt Striker apologises to the fans for Heyman's comments, and Paul is quickly and quietly removed from the commentary booth and the match gets under-way. Waltman is fast out of the gate with some hard chops to the chest of Helms and backs him into the corner and hits his two shoot kicks and jumping back kick combo, Helms drops out of the corner and Sean gets a two-count.
The Hurricane who is suited up in his red and black body suit, with his taped up fists, is right back up and fires away a series of rapid-fire punches and forearms, before hitting his Body Scrape Drop-Kick. Sugar Shane pushes Waltman into the corner and has his way with him, with some face washes in the corner. Helms waits for Waltman to stumble towards him and hit's the Sugar Smack Superkick for a close two count. Helms picks up Waltman and hit's the Nightmare on Helms Street (Reverse Facelock Elbow Drop), this must now be all over, but somehow Waltman's shoulder somehow lifts off the mat and he's still in this match.
Helms has had enough and looks to set Waltman up for the Vertebreaker, he twists his arms around and begins to turn him around but The Kid pushes him off into the ropes and catches him with a Standing Dropkick! Sean is up and grabs one of Helms legs and latches on a Single Leg Boston Crab, Helms is fighting it, and just barely makes the ropes. The Hurricane is up and runs the ropes but Waltman ducks his lariat and kick to the stomach of Helms, and X-Factor! He makes the cover 1-2-3 it's all over we have a winner and it's Sean Waltman.
William Regal says that this was a great match between these two legends and Paul Heyman should be ashamed of his comments earlier. Waltman celebrates but then gets the mike, he tells Noam Dar that he's coming for his Zero Gravity Title when they meet at Fight Night in Windy City - but says that is just the first step and he's not given up the dream or the hope. He's getting better and stronger with age like a fine wine and Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles had better not ignore him because they know The Kid will be coming for him, and you can put that in your pipe and smoke it!

NWA North American Title
Mark Jindrak (c) vs. John Cena
Mark Jindrak has been a great North American Champion, defending against all comers, and somehow walking away with the belt each time by hook-or-by-crook.
Prior to the match, Jindrak took in his own reflection in his personal hand-mirror, and then taking the mike told John Cena that while he progressed from the WCW Power Plant to become a WCW Legend and Tag Team Champion when wrestling was in fashion, John Cena hasn't quite done much for himself since he came up from OVW Wrestling. He's had a Mad Scientist sidekick Dr Thug, he's been a some kind of after-thought to Brodus Clay and The Rock in New York and doing the most ridiculous things to try and get over but tonight his resurgence will end here tonight with a defeat to the North American Champion and he can go back to mind-bending and weird science!
Cena has heard enough, and cut's him off. Cena says that he since he has arrived in Chicago, he has worked hard to try and win over those fans, and they are tough fans. Cena says it's true that his career hasn't panned out the way he would have hoped for, but he came to Windy City with a renewed passion, a serious determination to fulfill his potential and show the fans that he's hard working, ballsy son of a bitch who won't take no for an answer and will never back down! Cena says "it's on!" and drops the mike. And we are underway;
Cena charges Jindrak and backs him up into a corner and smashes home several big forearm smashes to the chest of the champion. Cena really is fired up tonight, he works the crowd and grabs Jindrak, Gutwrench Powerbomb for a two count. Cena follows up with a running one handed Bulldog and babys up for the crowd showing real intensity. Jindrak back to his feet wobbles, but catches Cena coming in with a huge dropkick! What a vertical leap that was from Jindrak! Possibly the best drop-kick you will see tonight Air Jindrak really did get Air and Cena is down and selling the effects of that move. Jindraks is up and picks up Cena for a Tilt-a-whirl slam. He slides outside and waits for Cena to get back to his feet, Spirngboard Clothesline for a near fall.
The match moves into the trenches as both men dig down deep, Cena hits a Vertical Suplex before scaling the top rope, and waits for Jindrak to get back up, drop kick from the top rope by Cena, not as aesthetically pleasing as Jindrak's but what a move from up top!
Cena stands over Jindrak, it's time for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, "You can't see me" and an elbow drop! Cena covers but no Jindrak has his left shoulder up. Moving forward a few minutes and Jindrak has managed to get on top, he readies Cena for the Mark of Excellence but Cena wriggles free and lands a desperation Sitout Powerbomb! Both men are down for several moments. Cena is up and trys to position Jindrak on the top rope for a Superplex, but Jindrak fires with some punches to the ribs. Cena ignores the pain and fires right back, several hard punches finding their target but a headbutt from Jindrak see's him crash down to the mat.
Jindrak senses it's his time, and readies himself, Air Jindrak! Diving Crossbody from the top rope but Cena catches him and jerk presses him up over his head, FU!!! A quick cover from Cena and a tight hook of the leg, one-two-three!!!! We have a new NWA North American Champion in John Cena! Wow! Who would have thought it!
Cena can't believe it, he is presented with the North American Title belt it's his big moment, but wait BULLY RAY is in the ring with a steel chair and lamps Cena with it over the head! Bully Ray has been tormenting Cena with those chair shots for a couple of months now! Cena somehow is up and staggering around, Bully Cutter from Bully Ray and Cena is flat out. Bully Ray is cussing like only he can, shouting god knows what down towards the out-cold new North American Champion!

NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Title
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ Styles
This match was highly anticipated, as two of the very best wrestlers squared off here for the World Junior Heavyweight championship. Styles had made it clear that he wanted to beat Bryan, a man who has held the championship now for over a year and has many fans calling him the best wrestler alive today. Bryan was more than game for the challenge, being the competitor he is, and this match did not disappoint. It was clear that Styles was looking for a big knockout blow in this match, trying to keep Bryan off of his dangerous feet and keep him off the mat, where he may be better than Styles, though Styles is definitely no slouch when it comes to mat wrestling. Styles just seemed to want to deliver staggering blows and kept trying to hit something big to take Bryan down, going after his Styles Clash multiple times, but he just couldn't seem to put it together early. Bryan had him well scouted and had a plan of his own.
Bryan knew that Styles would probably employ this type of strategy, and he decided to relentlessly kick and work over the legs of Styles, trying to knock out his source of power, as well as his ability to leap and speed up the pace of the contest. Bryan can do just about anything in the ring, but in his mind he is superior to Styles in a slower, more methodical contest, and he was able to make this match just that for a few spells through the near 25 minute affair. In the end, though, Styles seemed to be able to turn the tides, delivering a Pele Kick after breaking away from an attempted Dragon Suplex. Just as this happened, the fans were shocked to see none other than Chris Jericho make his way from the back, wearing a suit and looking on nearly stone faced, strolling up to the ring from the entry way.
Neither Styles, nor Bryan, nor the referee seemed to notice Jericho. Styles would deliver a vicious striking combination that ended in a Lariat, and he would throw his arms out, signalling for the end. The fans would roar, but Jericho would simply remove his suit jacket and fold it up, sitting it on the announcer's table. The commentary team all take turns assessing why Jericho would be hear, but all of them agreed things didn't look good. Styles would struggle but ultimately manage to hit the Styles Clash to a huge pop from the crowd, rolling Bryan over to his shoulders, but just as the referee tried to make the count, Jericho pulled him from the ring! Styles can't believe it, as he now notices Jericho, but Jericho is into the ring now... CODEBREAKER TO STYLES!
The referee is calling for the bell, and the fans are booing as Jericho just stands over the fallen Styles, smirking as he looks down at his fallen body. Jericho brushes off his shoulder and walks off smugly, having ruined a great contest, and for what? Why, Jericho, WHY!? Hopefully we can get some answers for this heinous assault sooner rather than later.
We fade into see the Impact Players in there locker room.

The Pistols vs. Los Hijos del Terror vs. The Impact Players vs. The Hybrid Athletes
This match would start with two competitors in the ring, Rush and Matt Taven, but eventually would break down into all out mayhem, as one might expect. The tag team division has seen a resurgence of late, and the team that comes out of here has to know that they will have to face many tough challenges ahead. Overcoming this obstacle would prove the meddle of the champions without a doubt, and it seemed like each team wanted to bring their A-game and show the world their dominance. Mike Bennett would appear to have Curt Hawkins on the ropes late in the match, and seemed ready to hit his Piledriver to finish things, but Hawkins would Back Body Drop him to reverse. Out to the ring came Sting, who tried to hand Hawkins his baseball bat as the referee was distracted with action on the outside. Hawkins and Sting would argue and the ref finally noticed Sting's presence and told him to leave the ringside area! Distracted, Hawkins would get caught from behind by Bennett, who rolled him up quickly, holding the tights, and the referee makes the count! Mike Bennett gets it, and The Pistols are now the Unified Tag Team champions! Everyone is shocked! Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, though they've been long time NA Tag Team champions, did not seem likely to take the win here, but it seemed as though Hijos del Terror had taken their eyes off the ball, and the Impact Players looked primed to pick up the pieces, but their now presumably former manager Sting seemed to cost them their moment in the sun!

We cut to a pre-taped video package for the main event.
Before the main event, the paths that brought both men to this day. Samoa Joe defeated CM Punk in a tournament final at the Spring Stampede PPV in April to become the new World champion and then once again retained in a subsequent rematch at the Great American Bash. Since then, a new side in the champion has emerged. First seen in a match at NWA Lonestar with Daisuke Sekimoto after a tense moment in a contract signing, Joe continued on a darker path. At NWA's Unlimited web show 2 weeks ago, Chris Masters battled and defeated Ted DiBiase to become the top contender, but in doing so suffered a worked over left shoulder. In the post match, Joe attacked Masters from behind and worked over the shoulder enough to give what Masters announced on October 18 as a suspected partial rotator cuff tear that doctors warned him to stay out for 6 weeks. That aside, the next day and only 6 days after the injury took place, he returned the favor to Joe with an attack from behind of his own, hitting a musclebuster on the champion. While he seemed to favor the left shoulder after doing so, the fact he was able to do that would indicate the injury may not be as serious as thought by doctors, but it gives Joe a target at the minimum.
It is also worth noting that the 2 have previously fought over the NWA World championship only 2 months ago. At Windy City's Fight Night on August 24, Masters challenged Joe in the main event. The champion would retain via pinfall after help from a hooded Mark Jindrak with a lead pipe to the back of the head. Jindrak is of course in the building again, although his North American Title defense against John Cena earlier may have taken enough out of him to keep him in the clear from again interfering. NWA President Dustin Smith has ordered extra security present to ensure that there is no outside interference in this match.
Chris Masters heads out to the ring first, the reigning Windy City Heavyweight champion. Josh Matthews speculates that there could be a mixed crowd here. While Samoa Joe did not make any new fans with his cowardly actions at Unlimited, he does have a portion of his fanbase that all the same would applaud those actions. Before Masters enters the ring, he goes over and shakes hands with somebody. Matt Striker makes note that the man is Rick Bassman, the man who trained Masters in California. Not only did he train Masters, but he was very instrumental in the early career of Samoa Joe in California as well, making this a match of interest for him. The World champion heads out second to a much louder reaction. Louder because there is now a vocal negative reaction that only further brings about louder acknowledgement from his supporters. When passing by Bassman, Joe just gives a sneer. Masters takes offense to this from in the ring, but it is a minor point compared to what the champion has already done to him. Both are in the ring, standing in opposite corners.
Jeremy Borash:
Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for the main event! This match is scheduled for 1 fall and it is for the NWA World Heavyweight championship! Introducing first, the challenger. He hails from Santa Monica, California, and weighs in at 265 pounds. He is the reigning Windy City Pro Wrestling Heavyweight champion, Chris Masters! And his opponent. He hails from The Isle of Samoa, and weighs in at 289 pounds. He is the reigning and defending NWA Heavyweight champion of the world, Samoa Joe!
The 2 wrestlers head to the middle of the ring as the referee goes over some rules. The 2 are staring holes through each other, certainly a lot more heat to this match than perhaps any NWA World Heavyweight Title match so far in 2014. Masters wants revenge almost as much as he does the title, but Joe is not about to give it up after all he has been through the last 8 months to not only get the title in a 32 man tournament, but then retain it over the past 6 months. Even with the grudge in place, Masters extends a hand to the champion when the referee says they can, albeit in a clearly mocking way. Joe just looks at the hand and backs up, wanting no part of that. Masters backs up, the bell rings, and the match is underway.

Samoa Joe (c) vs. Chris Masters
Masters immediately heads to the corner as Joe ducks his head between the ropes to force the referee to give some space. The fans boo the act as Joe then exits the ring and paces a bit. He yells for those booing him to "shut the fuck up" with anger before heading back up the steps and through the ropes. Any thoughts that the move was out of cowardice are quickly silenced as Joe goes right at Masters and the 2 wrestlers lock up. Masters backs Joe up, but the champ reverses Masters into the corner. The referee calls for a break, which Joe gives, or pretends to before laying in a vicious chop that can be heard in the cheap seats. Masters reels from that and goes to the adjacent corner where Joe follows and sets him up, laying in another big chop. Joe sets up for an Irish whip but Masters reverses. The challenger charges in but the champion moves. Masters blocks himself from hitting the turnbuckle which Joe doesn't see. Joe turns back to Masters and eats a big clothesline that rocks him. Masters runs the ropes and comes back with another. A third attempt sees Joe instead catch Masters into a quick scoop powerslam. Joe stands and jests to the crowd, looking down at Masters, and then back to the crowd with a shit eating grin as if to say Masters is in over his head.
Joe quickly grabbed Masters and lifted him up, taking him to the corner with several forearm smashes. As Masters falls in the corner, Joe backs up and charges in with a running knee to the head that nearly knocks Masters into next year. Joe grabs Masters and brings him up, headbutting him back down to the mat. The referee warns Joe on something but he could care less. Masters gets time to get up, but takes another headbutt for his troubles. Joe jests to the crowd some more as Masters gets to all 4s. Joe stands over him and drives in a forearm from behind to the side of the head. He then grabs Masters by the head and holds it up, yelling out "come on Masterpiece", before shoving his face down and then just rubbing it into the mat like it was dirt. The commentators wonder if maybe Masters made the wrong call by still choosing to take this match only 13 days after the injury took place. Early on it would seem that way.
Joe gets Masters up and maybe taking him too lightly leaves himself open to a sudden flurry of offense from the challenger. Masters starts landing rights out of nowhere, taking advantage of the champion's combined laziness and overconfidence. Masters has him reeling back into the ropes before firing him across. Joe bounces back into a back elbow. Masters gets Joe to the corner and lands several shoulders to the mid section, with his uninjured right shoulder. Masters brings Joe out and delivers an inverted atomic drop, showing some strength. Several knife edge chops follow that back Joe up to the ropes before a charging clothesline sends Joe out and over the top rope. Masters gets the crowd going a bit before heading out after Joe. As he reaches down for the champion, Joe grabs him by the trunks and pulls Masters into the guard rail. Joe gets up and heads back inside. As Masters gets up on the outside, Joe runs and charges back with a suicide dive through the ropes and out to the floor that lays Masters to waste. Joe looks at Rick Bassman, puts a finger over a nostril and directs a snot rocket towards the trainer as a show of disrespect. As Masters gets up by the guard rail, Joe charges at him but Masters moves and the champion hits hard driving the rail back several feet and almost taking out the first row of fans in the process with a little more force. Rather than count, the referee heads out and directs them to get back into the ring. Nobody wants to see this end on a countout, least of all the referee.
Masters picks up Joe and rolls him in under the bottom rope before following. Masters then brings Joe up and drives a couple forearms into the lower back. This could be prep work for the Masterlock. With Joe down on 1 knee, Masters comes at him with a swinging neckbreaker. He puts in the first cover of the match, only drawing a 2 count on the champion. A long way to go yet as Masters gets up and assists Joe back to his feet, delivering several more knife edge chops on the champion's chest in the corner. Fans gives a couple Ric Flair "WOOOOOOOO"s towards the end of the onslaught. Masters then hooks Joe in. A suplex attempt is coming as the commentators call this a possible mistake, but Masters wrenches back and gets Joe up, even keeping him upright for a brief second, dropping Joe back with a vertical suplex, not quite what could be called delayed. As Joe gets up, Masters shoves him front first into the ropes, catching him with a shot to the lower back. Masters repeats and the challenger is proving any naysayers wrong tonight as he is holding his own.
Masters picks Joe up, not only that but scoops him up in an impressive show of strength. Looking to run Joe into the corner, the champion instead drops behind the challenger and shoves him front first to the corner. Masters turns as Joe charges in, stepping up to the middle rope with 1 leg to springboard his knee into the jaw. Joe follows that with an inverted atomic drop, immediately followed by a running single leg dropkick, immediately followed by a running senton. The fans applaud this display as Joe covers and gets a 2 count, still nowhere near the end. Joe then turns Masters and locks in the STF. Masters could tap! Joe wrenches back as Masters looks to the ropes, seemingly miles away. The slow crawl begins, but Joe is not about to let the challenger get there. The strength though gets a look of panic on the face of the champion as the challenger does indeed move both closer. As Masters is almost there, Joe releases the hold, gets up, pulls Masters back to the center of the ring and reapplies. All for nothing as Masters is stranded mid ring all over again. He holds up the right arm, seemingly contemplating a tap, but instead Masters manages to roll them. Joe is on his back as the referee counts 2 before Joe manages to get a shoulder up, although in doing so breaks the hold. Joe gets up and brings Masters in, hitting him with a big German suplex. Keeping his hands locked, Joe rolls them and moves to a full nelson, bringing Masters back with a Dragon suplex. Still applied, Joe moves his hands to locking at the front, bringing Masters back with a bridging X-plex, completing the Chimera-plex. The referee counts ...

Masters manages to kick out. The second cover attempt by Joe is a closer call here. Joe brings Masters up and takes it a step further, seating him up on the top rope. He chops him and then goes for the Musclebuster, but Masters resists. Joe gives up that idea, steps back and leaps up with a big kick to the face of Masters. Joe then steps up to the second rope and tries something, but Masters breaks free. A right hand follows before Masters shoves Joe back to the mat. Masters pulls his legs over to the inside, stands straight and waits for Joe to get up. As he turns, Masters leaps with an axehandle to the head. With Joe rocked, Masters steps in and lifts him up, dropping him back with a Samoan Drop. Masters steps back and sizes Joe up. The champion gets to his knees as Masters circles behind, looking for the right moment. Masters then steps in and goes to lock it in. MASTERLOCK! Joe fights and gets to the ropes. The referee gives Masters a 5 to break. He then steps back and with Joe in the corner, Masters charges in with a shoulder. Joe however moves and the momentum sends Masters through the second and third rope, shoulder first into the metal ring post. Left shoulder at that. Masters goes all the way to the floor. Joe smells blood with that fortunate turn of events, fortunate for him at least.
Masters clutches at the left shoulder outside the ring as Joe heads out. Masters sits up against the ring steps as Joe starts kicking at the left shoulder. He then backs up and charges, driving a boot to the shoulder against the steps. Masters lets out a "FUCK!" as he falls to the mats, clutching at the clearly injured shoulder now. No doubt about it. Joe wants to inflict as much damage as he can out here, so much so that he grabs a chair! Readying to hit the challenger with it, the referee jumps out and steps between them. Not on his watch. Joe could care less and challenges the referee to DQ him. At that point though, the familiar voice of Rick Bassman gets through to Joe from the crowd right in front of them. Joe thinks twice and puts down the chair. A change of heart maybe, but no. Instead Joe grabs Bassman and yanks over the metal guard rail. What the hell is this? Masters can do little at this point as the referee checks on him and seems to be considering stopping the match. Joe rolls Bassman into the ring. This will not be pretty.
As Masters refuses to allow the referee to stop this, inside the ring Bassman begs Joe not to hurt him. This man was instrumental into why Samoa Joe is even here tonight. Joe has no mercy though, grabbing the first trainer of Masters and 1 of his own early mentors. He sets him up onto his shoulder, waiting to make sure that Masters is looking at them. As Masters is on 1 knee, leaning up against the ring, Joe drives Bassman down with the Musclebuster! Pathetic. Masters slides into the ring, immediately checking on his trainer. Joe just stands watching, smirking, all the while Masters lays on the mat next to his trainer. Joe starts kicking the downed Masters repeatedly. The referee isolates Bassman from them and calls for help for the trainer from the back. Joe picks up Masters and yells in his face "you don't deserve my title!" Joe then picks Masters up into an Island Driver, walks around and drives Masters down. Joe covers ...

Masters gets his right shoulder up. Feeling that was enough, Joe quickly covers again, getting a shorter 2 count. Assistance is out for Bassman now at ringside, loading him onto a stretcher. Joe looks over, shaking his head smiling. He then walks to the ropes and yells down to him "this is what you get! I told you that I'm better than him, always was". Joe goes back to Masters and sets him up. He tries lifting Masters into the Musclebuster, but he reists. Joe gives up on that idea, instead hitting the ropes and charging back with a huge lariat! Now Joe gets up and brings Masters up into position. MUSCLEBUSTER! Masters gets driven to the mat and the champion covers ...

Masters again gets the shoulder up. Joe can't believe it that time. Masters just kicked out of the Musclebuster. Joe gets up and catches his breath. Masters rolls over as Joe steps over and picks him up. He lifts him into position for the Death Valley Driver. Masters however lands some big elbows to the head and instead breaks free. Joe turns and Masters lifts him into the fireman's carry, but the left shoulder gives out and Joe falls behind him. From behind, Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch. COQUINA CLUTCH! This move is the move that put away CM Punk twice now. Whether by submission or tap out, Masters is in a bad place now. Joe then drops them back and Masters is on the mat. Joe locks his legs in and there is nowhere to go. Masters will have to tap here or pass out. The referee steps in and checks but Masters is still fighting. Finally the referee raises the arms and it drops once. Raises it, it drops again. The third time though, not so fast! Masters stays alive! Against all odds, Masters stays afloat but he looks to be fading fast. Reaching for the ropes, it is clearly hopeless. Joe releases the legs as Masters turns them, trying to crawl to the ropes. Instead though, he gets to 1 knee. Joe can't believe this. The crowd is getting behind Masters as against all odds he gets to his feet. Joe looks to take him down again, but not this time. Instead Masters drives Joe back first into the corner. The champion still has the hold applied. A second time though and Joe loses the grip. Masters drops to 1 knee as Joe quickly recomposes. Masters gets up and with 1 last effort, hits the ropes and comes back with the Polish Hammer, a double axe handle to the chest, that sends Joe down. Masters collapses as well and both men are down. The important part is that despite taking Joe's best, despite the shoulder injury, Masters is still in this!
As the 2 wrestlers slowly get up, Joe goes for a right, but Masters blocks it and sends 1 back Joe's way. Joe tries again, but Masters repeats. Now the right hands are coming. Masters backs Joe into the ropes and sends him across. As Joe returns, he takes a knife edge chop to the chest. Joe goes to the corner where Masters charges in and nails him with a Stinger Splash. Joe drops down to 1 knee, looking to shake it off. As he gets up, Masters lifts him up and turns him, driving him into the mat with a spinebuster. This is huge! Masters is making the comeback! Joe gets up and Masters sends him into the ropes, hitting the opposite side, coming back with a leaping shoulder block on the right side. Joe goes down again as Masters seems ready to go for the Masterlock. He failed once before with a good shoulder, but he steps in and locks the fingers. MASTERLOCK APPLIED! This move has never been broken without rope assistance and Masters pulls Joe mid ring. Bad shoulder and all, Masters needs the submission fast if he is going to win. The referee checks on Joe, but he will not give. The referee is right there as Joe goes to extremes, grabbing the ref and shoving him down. Joe then drives a leg back, low blowing Masters in the process. The referee gets up and sees Masters down as Joe just tells him the shove was an accident. The crowd knows better, but it doesn't matter.
Joe goes over to Masters and picks him up, but again Masters quickly steps behind and locks it in. The Masterlock is reapplied just like that! Joe is in a bad way here despite desperation tactics as there is very little time with this hold to free yourself. He steps over and gets to the ropes, kicking back and sending them both to the mat. Masters keeps the hold applied, rolling them. Joe however is close enough to the ropes to get another break. He gets up but mistakenly takes a step back as Masters again locks it in! A new World champion is just seconds away from being crowned, but this time Masters lets go. He takes a step back as he drops to a knee, clutching the left shoulder. The commentators speculate that all of this has just been too much for the challenger. The left shoulder has just given way and Joe realizes it. He grabs Masters, lifts him up and drives Masters to the mat with another Musclebuster! He covers ...

That time it is enough. Give credit where credit is due. Masters avoids the submission to the Coquina Clutch that put CM Punk away not once, but twice. He fought through an injured shoulder, but it was just too much. Samoa Joe used every dirty trick in the book and in the end, it was enough to retain the NWA World Title. The story now turns to not just the condition of Masters' shoulder, but the condition of Rick Bassman. Cowardly attacked by Samoa Joe during the match, the man with a connection to both wrestlers was stretchered out. Even in defeat, it has made this personal. The commentators speculate that we have not seen the last between these wrestlers. Joe gets handed the World Title belt, lifts it up as fans boo. The referee checks on Masters as Joe looks at them, but he could care less. He exits the ring and circles it. Some fans applaud, but most are booing the champion for his actions. The real story may be yet to come as Joe stands in the aisle, looking back at the ring.
Masters gets up to his feet. Clutching his shoulder, he stands there. The fans applaud. Not only that, but some even give a standing ovation! This has been a possible star making performance for the challenger here tonight. Again, he may have been pinned, but he kicked out of the Musclebuster. He broke free of the Coquina Clutch. He took everything that Samoa Joe had until the very end, and he did it all with a never say die attitude despite having a left shoulder injury that severely limited him in the match. Injury free and no doubt Masters takes this match. Masters nods to the crowd to acknowledge their appreciation of his performance. Joe on the outside just gets pissed off by this reaction and heads back to ringside. He grabs a chair and slides it in, quickly following. Joe picks up the chair and with Masters facing the crowd, drives it into the shoulder. Masters clutches the shoulder as Joe rears back and swing again, this time putting Masters down. Joe stands and repeatedly drives the chair into the left shoulder of the Windy City champion. Nobody is going to upstage him, least of all somebody he just defeated!
Joe finally relents, throwing the chair down. Fans boo as Masters lays on the mat. While he entered the match with what doctors thought was a torn rotator cuff that would keep him out of action 6 weeks, now it would seem that that is exactly the case and he will have to be out 6 weeks, if not longer. Not only that, but Joe may have just forever altered the career of Masters if that left shoulder ever recovers. What awaits Samoa Joe is unknown, but if Masters is ready to go and 100% by Starrcade on PPV in 3 months on January 25, 1 has to think that he is at the top of the list to take another crack at the World championship. With the event taking place at The Forum in Inglewood, California, literally the next door neighbor to Masters hometown of Santa Monica and the promotion/school where both Joe and Masters first made names for themselves under Rick Bassman, that could be added motivation to maybe do it before his hometown and where he got started. That is all a big if though and if not Masters, then who? It may be a question forced upon promoters if he can't physically go in time and a new challenger is needed. The screen fades from an almost sadistic looking Samoa Joe, pleased with his handy work tonight, as the commentators thank fans for ordering the PPV.
