CM Punk's address at the Saturday Night Special sent shockwaves throughout OVW, but some of what he had to say did not sit well with Burke. A confrontation ensued and while we heard some of what Burke had to say, maybe now we will get further elaboration. Due to the subject matter, the only way to hear what Punk had to say is order the replay on demand or buy the DVD. Dean says that he has heard a lot in his day out here, but Punk dropped a pipe bomb like never before here. What he had to say addressed not only those within OVW, but all over the NWA. Gilbert calls Punk a man with deep seeded issues, looking for answers everywhere except from himself. Titus defends Punk and says that when you're a multiple time former World champion, you don't look at yourself! Gilbert wouldn't know what it's like to be in Punk's shoes. Dean sarcastically asks Titus how many emmy awards he's won? Titus says silent as Dean asks Gilbert, who answers 4. Dean says he thinks Gilbert knows a thing or 2 about being at the top of 1's respected field of work. Titus says to give it time and he'll have emmy awards, oscars, grammies, everything there is to win.
Burke begins to speak, briefcase in hand containing his guaranteed shot at the Heavyweight Title. To start with, what CM Punk had to say has everybody talking, good or bad. What CM Punk had to say had some truth to it, but within that truth was a lot of tunnel vision. Punk sees his things his way and The Pope sees them another. When Punk wants to criticize Christopher Daniels, The Fallen Angel, the man that retired at the top of this industry, NWA World champion, Burke thinks those accolades speak for themself. Daniels might not have faced off with Punk 1 on 1, but Punk had his chances! He had his chances and he lost! The Coquina Clutch is about as illegal as pot in the state of Colorado so when Punk tapped, that meant Samoa Joe was the better man! As for what he intends to do to OVW, if he wants to walk out of here with the title, he might want to target Jamin Olivencia and ignore him, but guess what? He's got a leg up on the situation. He didn't cash in his King of The Valley guaranteed shot at the Saturday Night Special, but he is out here right now to do just that! He wants Jamin Olivencia out here and out here now, he wants to cash in his shot, he wants to be the champion because if Punk wants to disrespect OVW, its fans, its wrestlers, its entire legacy!, he will have to go through Pope to become champion and do it! A stern challenge made by Elijah Burke. But before Olivencia can come out ...
It's The Blacklist! Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion rush the ring and jump Burke from behind! Just like they did Olivencia at the Saturday Night Special, they are looking to send a message to all of OVW here today on TV. Barred by Danny Davis after their loss inside War Games, Jonze & Stallion are targeting the top and as with Olivencia, Jonze holds Burke in place on his knees for Stallion to charge in with the French Connection, a running big boot to the head. Jonze locks in the Mandible Claw but from the back comes the champion! Jamin Olivencia runs out and starts trading shots with Stallion. Jonze gets up and eats a right as well, but the numbers game become too much. Jonze & Stallion overpower the champion. They look to finish the job. Just then from the back come the troops. Cliff Compton, Ryan Howe, Metal Master, Michael Hayes, Aaron Sky, Robbie Walker. And it goes without saying that Jonze & Stallion immediately leave the ring when faced with this oncoming brigade. This time though, they do not leave empty handed. They have Burke's briefcase with them! Jonze & Stallion leave through the side door as has become their trademark, and what does this mean? Burke was out to cash in against Olivencia, but both have now become victims of The Blacklist. More on this after the break.

Best of 5 Series - Match #2
After introductions for the next match, Jay Bradley took the mic so he could tell Rudy Switchblade what match they would have. He first gloated about outsmarting him with Elvis Pridemoore taking a beating last week all in the name of fooling Switchblade at the Saturday Night Special. The Ultimate Fighter won under MMA Rules, as if there was ever any doubt about it, and today he will continue that because they are going to have a Taped Fist match. Forget the Boston Crab or the Rear Naked Choke, this is about striking. He tells the referee to tape up Switchblade as his are already done up and ready to go.VS |
Match #1
Jay Bradley defeats Rudy Switchblade in a Taped Fist match @ 6:15 via pinfall after a Boomstick Clothesline, taking match #2 in the Best of 5 Series. Something about the match seemed off as Switchblade's punches seemed to do far less damage while Bradley's were bruising and really putting a hurting onto him. Eventually Bradley had such dominance that he was able to finish Switchblade off after his trademark Boomstick clothesline. In the aftermath referee Chris Sharpe raised Bradley's arm in victory, but in doing so observed that the tape on his fist had hardened into a cast like substance. TPT was out and checked on it, plaster of paris! Channeling the Billy Collins Jr vs Luis Resto boxing incident from 1983, the tape on Bradley's hands had been covered in the powdered substance and once the action started, the sweat began to harden it. Dean calls Bradley the lowest form of competitor, but there was little that could be done about it as he cheats a second time. Bradley took a mic and said he was not going to keep anybody in suspense, next week, match #3, what will be the final because he will do a clean sweep. He wants a match where he can not only beat Switchblade once and for all in front of the fans, but also in front of the boys. It will be a Lumberjack match! The commentators wonder if Switchblade can even go next week as TPT and Sharpe check on him in the corner.

Future Talent Showcase Tournament Final
Match #2VS |
Eric Locker defeats Rump Thump @ 5:41 via pinfall after a T Bone Suplex. This was the final in the Future Talent Showcase Tournament that had been taking place online in the websclusive series over the last month, both earning 2 victories in the first round and semi final to get here. With the win Locker also earns himself an opportunity at the TV Title in 2 weeks at Thanksgiving Thunder, held by Metal Master, who may have to pull double duty if he wins the main event later today to earn a shot at Jamin Olivencia and the Heavyweight Title on that same broadcast, which could be of benefit to Locker. The commentators are impressed in the first look on TV here at Locker, comparing him to a young Kurt Angle. Rump Thump was not without his supporters though as the fans were solidly in his corner and he put up a good fight, almost winning the match with the Rumper Stumper, an Iceman King Parsons style butt butt. The future looks bright for both, although Titus exclaims it is that much brighter for Locker after today's win.

Paredyse defeats Dylan Bostic @ 4:36 via pinfall after the Long Kiss Goodnight, a Forward STO. Per the stipulation of his loss at the Saturday Night Special, Bostic was out reluctantly in a dress for this match. Fans had a good laugh while Dean & Gilbert had a time of it, saying that the Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling should rename himself the Britney Spears of wrestling or something. Maybe he could challenge for the Women's Title now that he's out of the TV Title hunt. Titus was not as amused saying that this is how people like Trailer Park Trash & Paredyse get their jollies. This was also Paredyse's return to the ring after coming out at the SNS when Bostic tried to flee and forced him into the dress. Paredyse really plays up the dress gimmick, looking under it, spanking Bostic. The Keister to the Kisser was enough to daze Bostic after some action and then put him away. Another week for Bostic as he can't take off the dress until he picks up a win out here.

Women's Title match
At least that was the idea. While Mary Elizabeth Monroe came out and ready to go, the Women's champion and so called "Daddy's Girl" Jessie Belle came out in a neck brace, joined by her father / manager, Dirty South Tracy Smothers. Monroe questioned it but Smothers took the mic and silenced the situation by telling Monroe that if she wants to complain about something, he's got some dishes with caked on grease at home, otherwise she needs to shut it before he gives her "the Heidi Lovelace treatment". As everybody can see, his daughter is unable to compete here today due to a neck injury, and don't worry about she got it cause it's nobody's damn business. So there will not be a title match today. Instead he went out and found a suitable replacement and if Monroe don't like it, she can go back to Bardstown just like that skank Heidi Lovelace after he gave her a taste of the Dirty South at the Saturday Night Special. Monroe says fine, she's ready to go, and awaits her opponent as she turns to the entrance ...VS |
Match #4?
Tracy Smothers defeats Mary Elizabeth Monroe @ 0:13 via pinfall. And just like that, Smothers schoolboys Monroe from behind and yells for the referee to count 3. Forcing her down, the referee is reluctant, but finally does so just to end this. After the match, Smothers goes outside and jumps like he is the missing member of the San Francisco Giants after their World Series win. Monroe is upset by this and rightfully so. Smothers takes a mic and tells her that this is the Dirty South and when you mess with the Dirty South, you get dirty! Dean as usual is sickened by all this, but Gilbert says to hold on. Jessie Belle is in the ring behind Monroe. She has the title belt in hands. Monroe turns and gets blasted in the face by the champion with a belt shot. Monroe is down and out! Smothers continues and starts laughing, that was all just fun and games. He says to the unconscious Monroe that if she wants her shot at the belt, she earned it, so let's get this over and done with. Belle takes off the neck brace and ...
The real Match #4!?
Women's champion Jessie Belle defeats Mary Elizabeth Monroe @ 0:18 via "pinfall" ... to retain the Women's Title? Belle immediately covers the KO'd Monroe as Tracy Smothers tells the referee to count. Wanting no part, he refuses so Smothers gets down and counts the 3 himself. Belle now is up and takes her title, telling the referee to raise her arm. He denies her that priveledge so Smothers shoves the referee aside and does it himself. He says the winner is Daddy's Girl Jessie Belle and you don't ever mess with Daddy's Girl, then pointing a finger down to Monroe, adds "got it?" A pathetic display here as Smothers & Belle seem to take great pleasure in the embarrassment and humiliation of another of OVW's top female talents. Not THE top though as Titus is sure to point out Jessie Belle is still the champion after this hard fought victory. Dean says none of this is official, and he is sure that TPT and maybe even Danny Davis will have something to say about this garbage.

6 Man Scramble match for a Heavyweight Title shot
Match #5VS | VS | |||
VS | VS | VS | ||
VS | VS |
Michael Hayes defeats Marcus Anthony, Cliff Compton, Ryan Howe, Metal Master, and Rob Terry @ 9:35 via pinfall, pinning Terry after hitting him a jumping jawjacker into the knee. As a result of the win, Hayes receives a Heavyweight Title shot at Jamin Olivencia in 2 weeks at the Thanksgiving Thunder special edition of TV. During the match, Timmy Danger appeared from the back and this caused a distraction for Anthony as he left the ring, still angry over his actions at the SNS. Danger backtracked, but got saved by Compton hitting a baseball slide dropkick onto Anthony under the bottom rope. Danger thanked Compton, but he had little interest in Danger either and shoved him away. Anthony got up and began a brawl with Compton that saw the 2 wrestlers fight on the floor. This left The Bully Rob Terry as the odds on favorite, running Metal Master face first into Howe and sending The Rockstar out to the floor. Terry turned the TV champion and went to powerbomb him, but Hayes made the save and surprised Terry. The commentators put this over as a gigantic win for the 1 legged Iraqi war veteran and an upset. Needless to say Terry was pissed off, but Hayes was out of the ring as the referee raised his arm in victory leaving him to only look on in anger.
Next week's TV will see match #3 with Rudy Switchblade vs Jay Bradley in the Best of 5 Series, and we know it will be a Lumberjack match as Bradley wants to beat Switchblade in front of the boys. Question remains if Switchblade can even compete after what happened earlier today. And hopefully follow up to what we saw at the start of the broadcast today with The Blacklist jumping Jamin Olivencia & Elijah Burke, and stealing Burke's briefcase with the contract for a guaranteed title shot within. Also don't forget in 2 weeks time on TV, Thanksgiving Thunder. Jamin Olivenca defends the Heavyweight Title against Michael Hayes, Metal Master defends the TV Title against Eric Locker, and much more! OVW TV, don't miss it!
Websclusive match #1
Taeler Hendrix defeats Holly Blossom @ 5:07 via pinfall after a schoolgirl and a handful of tights. As usual, Hendrix was out with her Mean Girls entourage of Scarlett Bordeaux & Nikki St. John, but a surprising 4th addition this week with Seleziya Sparx making her debut. During the match as Hannah Blossom started arguing with Scarlett, Nikki distracted the referee, allowing Seleziya the opportunity to interfere by decking Holly with a forearm and allowing Hendrix to get the roll up. Nick Dinsmore & the Fan Advocate Terry Boddie are on commentary, spending much of the match on the Women's Title situation with Tracy Smothers and his pathetic actions, but both do feel that this addition could be trouble for the rest of the women in Ohio Valley as Taeler may have finally found stability with her entourage.VS |
Websclusive match #2
Melvin Maximus defeats Deonta Davis @ 4:11 via submission to the Bear Hug. A win for the now former Body Guard, walking out on The Body Guy during his match with Michael Hayes at the Saturday Night Special. Davis proved to be no match for Maximus, coming nowhere near the size and strength. Dinsmore feels that without the added nuisance of having to protect Body Guy, Maximus could rise in the ranks of Ohio Valley in a hurry. Boddie agrees and feels that if this match was any indication, the locker room had better be prepared because they have just been put on notice that Melvin Maximus has arrived.VS |
