VS |
Melvin Maximus & Rump Thump defeat The Body Guy & Dapper Dan @ 5:39 when Maximus forced Dapper Dan into submission with a bear hug. The first encounter between The Body Guy and his much larger ex bodyguard Melvin Maximus sees no contact made between the 2. Rather than face the music, The Body Guy avoided a tag to face off with Melvin. When Dapper Dan was put in the bear hug and submitted, Body Guy took that as his cue to leave rather than stick around for the post match, but the commentators note that this will not be the last time they cross paths. Sooner or later, Maximus will get his chance for revenge and the next time, it might be 1 on 1. Rump Thump continues his upswing since making the final of the Future Talent Showcase tournament, and the commentators suggest possibly looking at a rematch with Eric Locker if he can hold onto his newly won TV Title.
TV Title match
Match #2VS |
Metal Master defeats TV champion Eric Locker @ 6:02 via countout, allowing Locker to retain the championship. A different story from the first encounter at Thanksgiving Thunder that saw Locker first win the title. Metal Master was not coming of an attack by The Bully Rob Terry the week before and was able to put together an offensive game plan that had Locker on the run, facing several near falls as the match went on. As Metal Master was able to setup and prepare for the jackhammer to maybe put Locker away and regain the title, the champion was able to knee the masked wrestler in the gut and break free. Locker then slid out of the ring, grabbed his title belt and took off. The referee counted 10 and Metal Master picked up the win, but not in the way he would have liked. The commentators mention that Locker might be able to run, but he can't hide, and Metal Master will have his day because actions like this by Locker will not go unpunished here in OVW.
Southern Tag Team Title match
Match #3VS |
Tag Team champions Raul Lamotta & The Mexicutioner defeat The Skywalkers @ 5:47 when Lamotta pinned Aaron Sky after a spear from The Mexicutioner, allowing them to retain the championship. After working over Sky, the champions were left to face a hot tag out to Robbie Walker. Rather than give the hot tag though, Sky decided to keep going! Walker called for the tag, but Sky clearly felt he could get the job done. Lamotta was done and Sky headed out to give a springboard splash. As Sky springboarded off the top though, he would jump directly into a spear by The Mexicutioner. Lamotta covered Sky as Mexicutioner cut off Walker from breaking it up. The champions retain and clearly a miscommunication for The Skywalkers may have cost them, specifically Sky's desire for the spotlight in the eyes of Michael Titus. Gilbert points out it may be the second time in a row that The Skywalkers need a locker room chat after Walker saved Sky from a spear on TV, but to do so had to tackle him first.
Guitar On A Pole match
Match #4VS |
Ryan Howe defeats Stuart Miles in a Guitar on a Pole match @ 6:52 via submission to the Whammy Bar. In this grudge match, The Pastor of Disaster was able to retrieve the guitar from the pole first. As he got down and readied for the money shot, Miles instead opted to place the guitar face down and place Howe's head onto the back. He's setting up the Rockstar for Say Your Prayers, the dangerous Seth Rollins style curb stomp. Instead, Howe managed to move and pull the guitar away as Miles stomped down. Howe got up with the guitar in hand and as Miles turned, he was blasted dead on with the instrument. As Miles went down, Howe put him into the Whammy Bar, his version of the Fujiwara arm bar. With Miles out, the referee called for the bell and awarded the match to Howe. A decisive victory and now Howe can move past the antics of the Pastor. As Miles got up with the referee's assistance, he seemed out of it. Miles then like a switch proclaimed he has seen the light. The commentators wondered if maybe that guitar shot just knocked him silly, but Titus told them that Miles has had a spiritual awakening as he disappeared to the back, seemingly in search of some sort of truth.
Women's Title match
Match #5VS |
Women's champion Jessie Belle defeats Mary Elizabeth Monroe @ 6:16 via pinfall after the Southern Comfort, a running bulldog, allowing Belle to retain the Women's title. Monroe appeared to be on the verge of victory, but as always the presence of Dirty South Tracy Smothers on the outside would prove to be a deciding factor in the outcome. Belle would go for a suplex, but Monroe reversed and as she lifted Belle, the champion's legs caught the referee to knock him down for a minute. Monroe then completed the suplex and rolled through into the Rainbow Cross, her modified STF submission. The move had made every opponent so far tap, including Belle right now but no referee to observe it. Smothers entered from behind and waited for Monroe to let go. The challenger didn't see Smothers and went to check on the referee, turning from there into a vicious clothesline. The man on woman violence continues and Belle was able to put Monroe away and retain. Smothers sinks lower with each passing week to keep that title for his daughter. Can any female in OVW manage to withstand this duel combination?
Hardcore Evening Gown match
Match #6VS |
Paredyse defeats Dylan Bostic in a Hardcore Evening Gown match @ 6:50 by ripping off the feminine wear sported by Bostic. Director of Authority Trailer Park Trash served as guest referee in this match. As with it's infamous predecessor, this Hardcore Evening Gown match started as more comedy than ECW style hardcore wrestling. The foreign objects used varied from lipsticks to hair spray to pillows. The final spot however saw Paredyse set up a table and sprawl Bostic out on top on the floor. Paredyse then headed up to the top rope, diving off in a high spot worthy of the best highlight reels, driving Bostic through the table in real hardcore. Even TPT, OVW's resident master of the style, seemed taken back by that. Paredyse then recovered and ripped off the dress, being declared the winner. Another big spot by Paredyse after jumping off the top of the ladder through a table in the King of The Valley match at the Rage In The Cage iPPV in October. The commentators mention Paredyse is becoming the resident dare devil of Ohio Valley, meanwhile Bostic will continue to be the resident RuPaul. Titus says Paredyse probably wishes he were being forced into a dress every week.
Ambulance match
Match #7VS |
Rudy Switchblade defeats Jay Bradley in an Ambulance match @ 12:40 by placing not Bradley into the back of the ambulance and slamming the door. This was the 5th and final match in the series between the 2 and it did not disappoint. Before the match could even get started, it was announced that due to the chair shot taken on TV when Bradley pulled him in the way to save himself, Mongo would not serve at ringside here to leave this as a true 1 on 1. After an initial back and forth, while Bradley was able to work him over and get him onto the stretcher, Switchblade resisted going into the back of the ambulance and instead slammed the door back out into his face. Bradley retreated and Switchblade went after him. Eventually Switchblade delivered a frogsplash onto Bradley with a chair positioned on top with the action back in the ring. As he dragged Bradley to the stretcher and tried to get him in, Bradley kicked him off. Returning the favor, Bradley then threw Switchblade head first into the side of the ambulance. After some chair shots, Bradley would await Switchblade to get up, and then drop him with the big Boomstick clothesline. Switchblade was put into the ambulance, but Bradley spent a little too long showboating before shutting the back to win. Finally as he did, he raised his hand in victory, but no bell. The referee informed him and Bradley was dumbfounded as to why not. He opened the back to see what was going on, no Switchblade! Bradley grabbed the referee to ask where he was, pointing behind him. Bradley turned into a superkick that dropped him, the commentators noting Switchblade must have climbed out the front driver side door as Bradley was busy wasting time gloating. Bradley crawled away as Switchblade went to the passenger side door facing the commentators and the camera side. He opened it and then grabbed Bradley to bring him over. He placed Bradley head down in the door. Dean got up and from commentary told Rudy to think about what he's about to do. With that, Switchblade seemed to think twice, but then slammed the door on Bradley's head. Bradley was out after that and Switchblade put him on the stretcher. He rolled him over and slid him in, slamming the door for the win. An emphatic exclamation mark on the feud as Switchblade will take the win in match #5 and also win the series. Dean speculates that this could be the end of Bradley, and while he may not agree with a lot of what Bradley has done in this Best of 5, he thinks that Switchblade may have let emotions get the better of him. Gilbert says to play devil's advocate, Bradley had Elvis Pridemoore fake a change of attitude to turn his back on Switchblade in match #1, and then in match #2, Bradley could have ended Switchblade's career with his taped fist antics. Whatever the case, Switchblade takes the Best of 5 as Team Bradley has been eradicated from 3 to none tonight.
Fatal Fourway #1 Contender match
Match #8VS | ||

VS |
Cliff Compton defeats Marcus Anthony, Michael Hayes, and Rob Terry in a Fatal Fourway match @ 13:21 when Compton pinned Hayes after the Cliffhanger, a Springboard Tornado DDT. Compton is now the #1 contender to the Heavyweight Title held in name by Jamin Olivencia. A strong performance by all 4 men involved with each having their respective close calls. For Hayes, this marked an opportunity to get a second chance after having his opportunity at Thanksgiving Thunder ruined and he did get Compton into the Liberty Lock, the seated reverse Cobra Clutch, but Terry managed to break it up just when it seemed Compton might tap. Anthony seemed close to victory as he hit Hayes with the Gamma Punch, and then readied for the Crimson Omen. As he locked it in though, Timmy Danger for some reason got on the apron trying to instruct Anthony to do something else. Anthony released, telling the manager to get out of here as Danger tried instructing Anthony on what to do, his job at ringside according to Titus as a defense for it. A job that Dean reminds viewers that Anthony is forced into accepting only through contract at this point. He doesn't even want him there. Terry made the save from behind and turned Anthony into position for a powerbomb as Danger escaped to the floor untouched, yelling for Terry to do it, powerbomb him! Anthony though stepped back and back body dropped Terry over the top rope and to the floor. Compton then charged with a clothesline that sent Anthony over to the floor. As Hayes got up, Mr. 1859 took the opportunity to hit his finisher and put the match away. This continues the string of strong big show performances by Compton after War Games in October and then a win over Rob Conway in November. Should he get his opportunity in January at the Retribution iPPV, he could be a favorite against the champion. The fall out between the other 3 could raise some interesting scenarios as Danger again may have cost Anthony a match and Dean would think for the last time as he was noticeably egging Terry on to finish his own man off. Terry himself meanwhile didn't win and we saw what happened last time he was in a contenders match and didn't win, meaning Ohio Valley could be on notice.
Before the next match, a reminder that on Saturday night, January 17, Ohio Valley will return to iPPV with a live streaming event entitled "Retribution". Generally the only way to see special events is live in the Davis Arena, tape delayed on demand through the website, or via DVD, but this event will be broadcast live across the world through the company's website and a deal with WWN Live. Keep watching OVW TV over the coming weeks for information on the lineup as matches get signed and announced. Get your tickets today.

Jamin Olivencia & Elijah Burke defeat Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion @ 12:38 when Burke pinned Jonze after the Elijah Experience, a sitout facebuster. No sign of the masked turncoat tonight as the match starts. Olivencia and Burke exhibited problems early on to allow The Blacklist team to take advantage, but as the match got going, their focus shifted more towards their opponents and they began to better gel as a cohesive unit. Olivencia would hit the Standing O onto Stallion, a jumping bodyscissors into a DDT, but Jonze would make the save. Burke came in as well and leveled Jonze before the referee focused on sending back to the apron. As he did that, Jonze would turn Olivencia into a DDT and get back out. Jonze & Stallion were able to capitalize on the situation. Olivencia would get isolated and after some working over, hit first with the French Connection, a running big boot to the head, and followed up with Jonze locking in the mandible claw. Olivencia fought passing out and with his last ounce of strength, hooked up Jonze and drove him back face first with a reverse STO. Olivencia crawled for the hot tag, but Stallion ran in to hold him back, but he was unsuccessful. Burke came in and started cleaning house on both Blacklist members, but the numbers caught up. Fortunately Olivencia had sufficiently recovered and made the save. Burke had enough time that he was able to hit his finisher on Jonze and put him away for the win. Perhaps more importantly than that, more important than Olivencia & Burke managing to work together, they will reclaim their property with the win.
Or will they? The masked turncoat is out after the match and grabs the belt and the briefcase before Olivencia & Burke can get them back. Whoever it is holds them up as Olivencia & Burke look on, but he does not see Cliff Compton come from behind. The fans cheer as the masked man figures out something is up. He turns and drops the title belt, swinging the briefcase at the new #1 contender, who manages to move. As the masked man turns back towards Mr. 1859, he takes a kick to the midsection and drops the case. Compton then motions for the mask to come off. As he reaches for it, Stallion hits him from behind. The masked man runs off to the back as Compton gets the better of Stallion and ends up throwing him into the barricade. He then heads off to the back in pursuit. The referee is out and takes the belt and the briefcase to hand them back to their holders. Olivencia has his championship belt back, Burke has the briefcase back, and could he be cashing it in right now?!? Burke looks at it and looks at Olivencia as the crowd awaits. They have both been through a war and maybe now is not the time. After a begrudging handshake on TV to get this match, Olivencia extends his hand, maybe for a more genuine handshake. Burke looks at the case again, but ultimately shakes the hand. Burke didn't do it last month at the Saturday Night Special to take advantage of a prone Olivencia, and he didn't do it here, perhaps because he wants to settle this in the ring with both at 100% to truly find out who the better man is.
Jamin Olivencia gets the championship belt back, Elijah Burke has the briefcase with the contract for the guaranteed title shot back, and Cliff Compton is now the #1 contender. If that situation was not muddled enough, Gilbert stresses CM Punk's potential involvement here. He has made it known he wants that Heavyweight Title for reasons completely separate from Olivencia, Burke, or Compton's reasons. He is going to address OVW at the next TV and what he has to say could greatly impact the future of these 3, never mind Danny Davis. Retribution is January 17 on iPPV, but whatever we could see on that show is still very much a mystery, although early indications would be Olivencia defending against new #1 contender Compton, if Olivencia can keep the title between now and then.
