"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles picked up a huge victory over "the Brave Warrior" Hirooki Goto in the main event of Night Three of the Kenshiki Pride Festival. It was the first match in Block B that saw two undefeated competitors do battle and they did not disappoint, each man doing whatever they can to get the all important two points. Styles used the Styles Clash to pick up the victory.
Daisuke Sekimoto continued his strong start to the tournament with a big win over Rush, who has now lost two straight matches after his opening night victory over Togi Makabe. It was a physical match that saw Rush shocked when Sekimoto kicked out of his patented La Lanza running dropkick to the head. Rush later returned the favour when he kicked out of Sekimoto's German Suplex, but he was unable to do the same to a Sekimoto Lariat just moments later.
"The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada got back on the winning side with a victory over the current NWA Mid Atlantic United States Heavyweight Champion Cedric Alexander, who remains at two points despite what many are saying was his best effort of the tournament thus far. Neither man had control of the match for longer than a couple of minutes and Okada never pulled the victory out until Alexander missed a Split Legged Moonsault, after which he leveled the American with a Rainmaker.
Three men continued their disappointing starts to the tournament. On the Block B side, "the Stardust Genius" Tetsuya Naito fell victim to the High Fly Flow from "the Ace of the Universe" Hiroshi Tanahashi while Yuji Nagata used the Nagata Lock IV to beat the big man Bad Luck Fale. On the Block A side, "the King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Go Shiozaki with the Boma Ye. All three winners sit with six points in their respective blocks while all the losers remain at zero.
It was not disappointing news for "the Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata, however. He used the Penalty Kick to defeat "the Unchained Gorilla" Togi Makabe. This was a major victory for Shibata, who avoided the all important third loss of the tournament as he and Makabe now both sit tied with 1-2 records for 2 points.
And over on the B Block, Dolph Ziggler used the Zig Zag to defeat Yujiro Takahashi.
