Heavyweight champion: Jamin Olivencia
Tag Team champions: Raul Lamotta & The Mexicutioner
TV champion: Eric Locker
Women's champion: Jessie Belle
Coming out with Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion from the side door that leads out to the parking lot rather than the traditional entrance, Rudy Switchblade is about to address why he turned his back on OVW. Dean corrects that, stabbed OVW in the back. This man is a no good low life for what he did, parading around under a mask while attacking wrestlers, joining this group and trying to takeover the company. Gilbert says that they are coming from that side door because quite frankly, he can't set foot in the locker room. Too many wrestlers want at him, it would be too dangerous for him to go back there. He requests a mic as he gets in the ring, rather requests Dean come in and hold the mic for him! Dean gets up as the fans cheer and walks over, but instead just throws it done. He tells Switchblade that he can hold his own damn mic out here because he sure isn't doing it for him because he's nothing but an @$$hole. The fans pop as they hear it clear as day despite being off mic. Jonze & Stallion check if they should get him, but Switchblade just says to ignore him. He steps over and picks up the mic to speak.
Rudy Switchblade: Well, well, well. Good to finally be out here as the real Rudy Switchblade. It is. Good to finally throw out that baby kissing act that I've been carrying out the last few months, pretending to care about any of you fans. You know, the last time I came out, you all cheered me. You all adored me. Even you Dean. Even you had to admit that Rudy Switchblade was 1 of the fan favorites. But where did that ever get me? I busted my ass week after week and when it comes time to defend the honor of OVW back at Rage In The Cage, you go with a guy that was this close to turning his back on you, Cliff Compton. You put all your trust in him making a decision and never once came to me as War Games approached. The fact he even had to consider it made me sick, and the fact that in spite of that, nobody ever came to me made me even sicker. I didn't have to think too hard before I picked up the phone and called Doug Basham to say that I wanted in. I wanted to drive a dagger through the heart of Ohio Valley because it was obvious that as much as I cared for OVW, OVW didn't care about Rudy Switchblade and change was needed. Change from a regime that put guys like me on the back burner. Now what I didn't know at the time was that Basham was weak. He was weak minded, weak physically, and he didn't have what it took to get the job done. He never did and he never will. But the wheels were in motion. When Team OVW won, seeing those 5 celebrate? It just added fuel to the fire for me to keep going with the mission. Mohammad Ali Vaez was the first to go. Rob Conway? He knew better and left the picture because he was scared. Oh sure, he's back now, but he's just a shell of what he once was. Nick Dinsmore, he found out the hard way that I mean business. Michael Hayes, he seems to have a lost a step lately courtesy of Rob Terry haha. Step, you know, because of the leg. I know, I know, I'm too funny. And what about Cliff Compton? While I go beating Jay Bradley, Best of 5, he gets a title shot at Jamin Olivencia?! You've got to be kidding me! Again, everything goes Compton's way and just passes me over. That was the real joke out here. The final straw. That should be my title shot, not Compton's. I should ... well look who it is.
And with that, the fans start cheering because out comes Danny Davis. The head of Ohio Valley has had a couple weeks to think about this as he takes the mic.
Danny Davis: Rudy Switchblade.
Rudy Switchblade: You know-
Danny Davis: Can it! I don't want to hear it. I just listened to enough of it and quite frankly, it's all a bunch of crap anyway, so cut the B.S. You know, the name says it all. A switchblade. A knife, perfect for stabbing in the back. I gotta say, of all the guys in the back, I didn't expect this. You 3 think you're pretty smart, you put 1 over on us all. Think again though. I might not be able to fire you because you have a contract that as long as you live up to it, you have a job here unfortunately. Your biggest mistake though was taking that mask off because I have told Trailer Park Trash that he can forget being the Director of Authority with you because I'm going to handle you personally going forward. You wanna talk about taking out Team OVW, 1 by 1? A couple of those names, you didn't take out. Most notably The Ironman Rob Conway. Seeing as you both have something to prove, I'm signing that match for January 17 at Retribution. Rudy Switchblade vs Rob Conway. Let's see if you're all bark, or if you've got some bite to those words.
Rudy Switchblade: Oh no, not Rob Conway. Please. Give me a real challenge Danny. Once I easily defeat the once Ironman, I get that title shot that I so obviously deserve. That-
Danny Davis: No. I never said that, did I? You want a chance? You might think you're this close, but this close to you is still a damn long way as far as I'm concerned because I'm going to make your life hell trying to get there after what you've done to me, the wrestlers in the back, and the fans. You'd better get ready because it will be scorched earth for you pal. And you know, speaking of hell Rudy, you said back on TV a few weeks back that you went to hell and back with Jay Bradley in the Best of 5 series. You went to hell and back and that the next time you 2 go there, Bradley's staying there. Well your wish has been granted. January 25, NWA presents Starrcade, you're both going to hell because it will be Rudy Switchblade vs Jay Bradley, Hell in a Cell!
Rudy Switchblade: That's fine Danny, you think that scares me? I beat Bradley in the Best of 5-
Danny Davis: Barely.
Rudy Switchblade: I beat Bradley, I'll beat him again inside Hell in a Cell. I'll beat Conway at Retribution. In fact, I'll beat anybody you put in front of me just like I always have and like I always will. Anywhere, any time.
Danny Davis: I'm glad you said that. Real glad. Anywhere, any time? How about right this second then? I want a referee out here because we're going to have a new opening match. Rudy Switchblade vs this man ... Paredyse!
And with that, the unorthodox wrestler comes out as a surprise will start off the action here tonight at the SNS.
VS |
Rudy Switchblade defeats Paredyse @ 6:43 via pinfall after the Rudy-KO, a jumping cutter. A quick paced back and forth match kicks things off as Paredyse nearly defeats Switchblade with The Long Kiss Goodnight, a forward STO, to almost kill the momentum he had built for himself with the turn. Switchblade was able to kick out though, and while Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion of The Blacklist stood at ringside in a panic, all was not lost. Paredyse kept the heat on, but Switchblade would duck under a clothesline and when Paredyse turned, Switchblade caught him with the lethal jumping cutter move. Out of nowhere, Switchblade hits the move and it proves to be enough to put Paredyse away. Dean on commentary says that Switchblade may have avoided defeat tonight, but he's got a tall order at Retribution against The Ironman Rob Conway and there's maybe nobody in that locker room that wants a piece of him more. Titus says that Ohio Valley has been put on warning, and whether it's Paredyse tonight or Conway at Retribution or Bradley at Starrcade inside Hell in a Cell, everybody will fall to The Blacklist.

TV Title match - Title can change on DQ or Countout
Match #2VS |
TV champion Eric Locker defeats Metal Master to retain the title @ 8:04 via pinfall after the Hurt Locker, an electric chair dropped into a bridging German suplex. All is not as it seems from that as Locker had to use questionable tactics in the build up to the finish to pull out the win. After walking out and taking a countout at the last Saturday Night Special, and then getting himself intentionally disqualified in a rematch, either of those results here would have led to a title change. Metal Master was in control of the match and had accumulated several 2 counts when he would go for the Jackhammer as the end. Locker however would manage to block going up into the suplex. He quickly redirectioned them as he landed and ran Metal Master back first into the referee. With the ref momentarily distracted, Locker got in a low blow kick that dropped the masked wrestler to his knees. The ref recuperated as Locker pulled Metal Master up and delivered his finisher to put the former champion away. Locker retains here, but Dean remains unimpressed. He may have found a way out of this today, but until he soundly defeats Metal Master, he'd better keep looking back. Titus points out that so far nobody has defeated Locker by pinfall or submission since his debut and all that matters is who leaves with the title, not how they leave with the title.

Rob Conway defeats Raul Lamotta @ 5:37 via pinfall after the Ego Trip, a whiplash. This was a big match for Conway in his return to action after a near 2 month absence, and wasting little time against half of the reigning Tag Team champions. Prior to the match, Shelly Martinez was out with what can only be described as a championship belt bikini, using the 2 Tag Team Title belts wrapped around her in just the right places. She then tried to convince Conway to forfeit the match as she seductively got down on her knees in front of Conway to tell him she had other plans in mind. The Ironman seemed to ponder the overtly suggestive idea before answering back that he appreciates the offer but he came back to wrestle, and besides, he wouldn't waste his time with some Elvira wannabe, Bardstown quality latino "puta"! The fans pop as Shelly gets offended while Lamotta jumps Conway to an early advantage, but ultimately would lose out in this competitive back and forth. After the match, The Mexicutioner gets in but Samoa Joe is not about to let that go down as he gets up from commentary. As Mexicutioner readies for a spear, Joe trips him and pulls him out of the ring to deliver some right hands. Mexicutioner rolls in as Joe follows. Conway takes a right on him as he gets up, turning Mexicutioner into a right from Samoa Joe. The 2 take turns before Mexicutioner stalls. Joe takes off his jacket and throws it down before locking the co holder into the Coquina Clutch. Mexicutioner taps as Joe releases it and Lamotta pulls him out to the floor. Samoa Joe stands and looks to Conway, who nods to the help from the champion. Conway points to the belt though and motions to his own waist, he wants that title. Joe looks at the belt and looks back at Conway and nods, mouthing out "bring it". Before that though, on January 17, Conway gets Rudy Switchblade at the next iPPV, Retribution.

Taeler Hendrix & Seleziya Sparx defeat The Blossom Twins and Scarlett Bordeaux & Nikki St. John @ 4:32 when Hendrix pinned St. John after a roundhouse kick to the head. The newly christened A List spoil the farewell match of The Blossoms and get a 1 up on their former Mean Girls cohorts. Seleziya is like a rock in this match and might just be Taeler's solution according to the commentators in her quest to get back the Women's Title. In the post match, Taeler celebrates and orders Seleziya to hit the spinning powerbomb onto Scarlett. As she readies her, Taeler stops her and with Scarlett bent over, first hikes up the dress and spanks Scarlett. Ok, now she's ready! The Blossoms Twins are back in and both hit Seleziya. She drops Scarlett and turns to them. She charges with a double clothesline, but they duck and hit a double dropkick as she turns around. Seleziya rolls out as Taeler is left alone with The Blossoms. Now it's farewell! Taeler backs up into a corner. The Blossoms go in and Irish whip Taeler to the other corner. The force of connecting sends her out into a double hiptoss. Holly then hits the ropes and jumps up onto her Hannah's shoulders. Seated in an electric chair, Hannah lifts Holly forward into a splash on Taeler. Their music hits as they celebrate. They may not have won the match, but they get the last laugh out here.

Heavyweight champion Jamin Olivencia defeats Rob Terry in a non title match @ 7:29 via pinfall after the Standing O. Things were looking bad for Olivencia as Terry started to work over the lower back as the match progressed, catching him in a bear hug spot to wear the champion down and look for the submission. Olivencia was able to fight free, but ran into a stiff clothesline to kill momentum. Finally, Terry would ready for the powerbomb. As he lifted Olivencia up though, the champion started punching away and managed to slip his legs over the arms into a bodyscissors and lock in the fromt facelock to drop Terry down with a DDT. Big win for Olivencia as Terry falls, but the action is just getting started because immediately from the back come Rudy Switchblade, Shiloh Jonze, and The French Stallion. Terry rolls to the floor as Olivencia is left to fight The Blacklist 3 on 1. A dangerous situation for him. Jonze enters and takes a right. Stallion enters and takes a right. Switchblade enters as Jonze goes in and takes another. Stallion goes at him, and Switchblade quickly follows, overcoming the Heavyweight champion.
Before anything can happen though, the fans cheer as from the back comes Mr. 1859 Cliff Compton! He slides in as Switchblade exits and Jonze and Stallion take up the cause. Compton drops Jonze, drops Stallion. Compton gets Jonze up and sends him over the top rope and out to the floor. Olivencia sends Stallion out the same way. Switchblade remains idle on the floor, clearly not wanting any part of this given the numbers game outweights him. Compton and Olivencia then turn their attention on each other, given it is them that will go 1 on 1 at Retribution with the title on the line. Olivencia thanks Compton for the help after the referee hands him back his championship belt, but Mr. 1859 isn't taking it. He wants nothing to do with the gratitude, he wants the title come Retribution. Compton leaves as Olivencia holds up the title when he looks back before heading through the curtain. It's on at the iPPV.
-- Fifth commercial break --
Back from break and it is now time to go over the Retribution iPPV lineup as it stands. Saturday night, January 17, and you can catch all the action through WWNlive.com or better yet, live from here in the Davis Arena. Big night of action lined up and after what has went down tonight and earlier on TV, a lot to add to the card for the 17th ...
- Heavyweight champion Jamin Olivencia defends against Mr. 1859 Cliff Compton
- Ironman Rob Conway vs Rudy Switchblade
- Battle of the Sexes Part II, Heidi Lovelace vs Dirty South Tracy Smothers, loser leaves Ohio Valley
- Melvin Maximus vs The Body Guy
- Paredyse vs The Psychedelic Superstar Chris Silvio
- Tag Team champions Raul Lamotta & The Mexicutioner defend against not 1, but 3 teams - both The Wild Boyz and The Skywalkers, and unfortunately The Blacklist as they are still contractually owed a rematch that they never got from when they lost the title
- Metal Master challenges Eric Locker for the TV Title 1 final time, this go around though, in an Ultimate X match!
- The Pope Elijah Burke vs CM Punk
Gilbert says the last match is in theory at least, because we are about to see the contract signing right now. Dean says that knowing Punk and his recent attitude, there will be some sort of garbage thrown in, probably as a way to avoid signing the contract all together. Titus takes the Straight Edge Superstar's side though and suggests that only when The Pope has been the NWA World champion as many times as Punk has, when he's main evented as many national PPVs as Punk has, maybe then he can make the demands but until then, it's Punk's way or the highway.
The table is literally set. Both Danny Davis and the Director of Authority Trailer Park Trash are in the ring, joined by senior referee Chris Sharpe and The Fan Advocate Terry Boddie to serve as M.C. for the big moment. First from the back comes The Pope Elijah Burke! Big pop as his music plays and he circles ringside, shaking hands with some of the fans before getting in the ring. Retribution will be a big opportunity for Burke as the war of words between these 2 is what brought Punk to take this match. Gilbert says that flat out, we heard it, Punk does not like, does not care for Elijah Burke. He doesn't think he deserves the spot he has and if he has his way, he will knock him down a few rungs on the ladder here. Dean says that's not all because we know Punk's goal is to eventually win the Heavyweight Title here. Not for honor or prestige, but just so he can embarrass Ohio Valley by turning around and vacating the title without ever having been defeated. Titus adds his 2 cents by saying that is the Christopher Daniels way, and these morons brought it upon themselves by respecting the way he did it, but now Punk is going to make a mockery of every last major championship in the NWA, territory by territory, starting with Ohio Valley's.
Christian Mascagni: If I could have everybody's attention. I shouldn't need an introduction for long time viewers of this program, but my name is Christian Mascagni. I am not here today however as Christian Mascagni, manager of champions as I was when you last saw me here in early 2012, but rather in my preferred role as Christian Mascagni, attorney at law. I am here today as the head of the legal council representing Mr. CM Punk. Unfortunately Mr. Punk could not be here tonight. He was invited to celebrate New Year's eve with Mr. Lorenzo Fertitta and Mr. Dana White in Las Vegas, so he instead sent us here to sign the contract for his match at Retribution in his place given that Ohio Valley is not his top priority. Don't worry though because for those of you wishing to live vicariously through my client because your own lives are so drab and miserable, he has informed me that you can follow him on twitter, @cmpunk, or you can follow Dana White's twitter, @danawhite. Although I personally would not recommend the latter for any children out there watching.
Danny Davis: No. I want CM Punk here to face the music. He wants to wrestle here, he wants to supposedly humiliate the company that I put my blood, my sweat, and my tears into? He shows up to sign the contract himself dammit!
Christian Mascagni: Fair enough. There will be no match then.
The head of the legal team instructs the others to leave, as Burke says something to Davis.
Danny Davis: Fine. Get back in here, sign the contract in the all high and mighty greatest wrestler in the world's name, and then you can get the hell out of this ring. Out of the building for that matter.
Christian Mascagni: Please Mr. Davis, there's no need to take a hostile tone. I am just here, doing the job I have been paid to do.
Danny Davis: And I'm sure you're getting paid a lot and by the hour, but we aren't. Sign it and let's be done.
Christian Mascagni: Hold on. Before I sign any contract in Mr. Punk's name, I have a statement he has sent to be read at this time. If I may?
Danny Davis: Be my guest.
Mascagni goes to the head of the table, disrespectfully telling Trailer Park Trash "excuse me" as if he is in his way. Trash bites his lip, but steps back and allows for the lawyer to take his place. Dean wonders if there's an ambulance somewhere for Mascagni to chase. Titus says he has it on good authority that Mascagni is an excellent lawyer, nicknamed the Shark.
Christian Mascagni: And I quote. "I hope my absence is not a cause for concern. Rest assured that despite my priority being to fight for the UFC in 2015, I still intend to fulfill my promise to the viewers of Ohio Valley Wrestling. That goal being to win the Heavyweight championship by defeating the best that OVW has to offer, only to turn around and vacate it in order to disgrace the company and everything that Danny Davis has worked for." No offense of course to you Mr. Davis, these are Mr. Punk's words, not mine. Continuing, "Everybody knows why I came back to Ohio Valley, so there's no need to get too in depth into that. And if anybody does need to know, I'm sure Danny would love it for you to go back and buy a copy of the November Saturday Night Special, so why spoil that when he clearly needs every last cent he can get to keep this place going." Again, no offense intended.
Danny Davis: If anybody's one to talk about every last cent, it's fitting to come from you. Just hurry up.
Christian Mascagni: Of course. "I'm sure what everybody wants to know is why I agreed to wrestle Elijah Burke. The Pope! The all knowing, all great Pope. I told you last time straight up, right before I gave you the Go To Sleep and left you laying how it is. I don't like you, I hate you. A step further, I despise you. The bottom line is Pope, you can't wrestle. It's not some smart mark chant that people cheer at somebody for fun, it's the truth. When you and I got in that ring in the past, you almost ruined me. I had to fight every damn step of the way to get where I am today. It's not because of you, not because of you Danny Davis, certainly not because of the NWA President Dustin Smith, not even the people that helped me like Paul Heyman. It's because of me, myself, that I'm where I am, still standing. A lesser man in my position 10 years ago, they'd have taken their ball and went home, and that means every single person in the back, everybody else in this ring, everybody in the crowd, everybody watching at home, because you're all lesser men. I have discipline. I have something that-"
Elijah Burke: SHUT THE HELL UP!
Christian Mascagni: I'm not finished yet, don't you-
Elijah Burke: SHUT, UP! Your time for talking is over with. You've talked enough out here already and it's the same song and dance every single time. There's nothing new, it's always all about CM Punk. But you know something, this? OVW? Hell, the entire NWA for that matter! It's about more than your client, so much more. If he only meant a sliver of what he actually thinks he does, then maybe, just maybe, there'd be some truth to the words you throw out, hoping to make stick for him. Now I know he believes it, so there's no talking him down from the ledge he's climbed up on. He thinks it's some sort of a pedestal, looking down on all of us from his own greatness. What it is though is the ledge, because he teetering up, and what he thinks is greatness, no. It's only a leap off to the bottom as the way down. And trust me man, it's a long way down. CM Punk, you might think you're up here now, but after Retribution, after you jump, you gonn' be down here, and you will know it. Even with that inflated ego that you carry around as a weight on your shoulders.
Christian Mascagni: O...k then. I guess we can, ummm, get this over with. And I have some great recommendations for anger management for you Mr. Burke.
Danny Davis: Just sign the contract and get the hell out of this ring!
Christian Mascagni: Fair enough. Not like I actually want to be here. Just give me the ... actually, hold on, there is 1 more thing. My apologies. Please direct your attention to the video.
And with that, a video plays as the lights dim. It's CM Punk! Dean wonders what the hell the point of all that was if he sent a video anyway.
CM Punk: Before anybody signs a contract, I want this video played. I want The Pope to really know what he means to me. And you'd better listen just like everybody else because what I have to say is all anybody actually cares about out here, the sole reason anybody would even be watching this. As you should know by now, I'm a little busy tonight with my new business associates. Rest assured I will still be there on January 17 for your Retribution. I have a little story first and it's main character is Elijah Burke. The Pope. What I have today, you almost took that away from me. When you went in there, botching move after move you made, unable to coherently do anything of value, everybody looked to blame me at the time. Surely it's not this athletic, muscular, this God sent Elijah Burke. It's the guy that we already put a target on. It's the guy with tattoos, the guy who's straight edge because we don't understand what that means, the guy who's not our version of entertainment. And we were at a crossroads there. I came this close to being forgotten. Being cast aside. Becoming what you are today Pope. Because of idiots that don't understand pro wrestling, you were almost given the opportunity that I had worked for. The opportunity that I had earned. This close. Fortunately it didn't end there and the truth came out. It wasn't me, it was you. I went on to do what I did, and you? You went on to do what you did. But even I'm not that naive. It could have just as easily been the other way around and I recognize that. I really do. It could have, but it's not. The reality in this world, in this life time, is that I'm where I am and you are where you are. And now where you are happens to be an inconvenience to me. This match isn't because I have to beat you. It's because I want to beat you. We were at the same place, but we've went in opposite directions. Sure, you've done a little bit here and there, but you're just about, oh, 7 years too late. And at Retribution, I'm going to put you out of your misery once and for all, and end the misery for everybody watching. Never again will they have to watch you attempt to wrestle. Never again will they be subject to the brutality. It ends for you Pope, and then whether it's still Jamin Olivencia, or my dear old friend Cliff Compton, I'll win that Heavyweight Title, never to be seen here again.
But Danny Davis. You don't want to give me that chance. Is what you think of The Pope? The confidence you have in him. The confidence in Jamin Olivencia, Cliff Compton. If you believe in them Danny, if you genuinely think these are some of the best wrestlers in the world today, put your money where your mouth is. Say it right now, say the truth. The reason you won't give me an opportunity at your championship is because you know I'd win. Whether it's Jamin, whether it's Mr. 1859, whether it's The Pope, you know I'd walk in there and I'd humble any of them. It doesn't matter which. I could walk in not even knowing who your champion is and I could still beat them, the same way I could to any of these other run down organizations around the NWA that seem to be dropping like flies because they're afraid of what I'll do and just want to get it over with now. But you Danny, you're a gambling man, I saw it last time with your War Games match the last time where I watched and waited to make my move. Maybe it's the new found Las Vegas in me talking, but I'm a high roller Danny, so we can do this 2 ways. First way, I go in there and I beat him? I get a title shot at your champion. If he somehow defeats me, then you know what? I'll still walk out that door and leave, I'll never come back, but I will have failed. I'll go back to Chicago, egg on my face, I mean why would I even want to show my face here again if I lose to Elijah Burke? That won't happen though so I'm not too worried. Now the second way, is I go in there at Retribution, nothing on the line because you play it safe. You have no confidence in this man defeating me at all, so when I beat him, who cares? Not you. Not the fans. Pope, yeah, I'm sure he cares. But you Danny, it doesn't matter for you. Because you knew all along that he'd lose anyway. It's not a surprise, so why should it impact you in any way at all?
See, it's my passion that's driving me to do what I'm doing. Passion that I know you once had somewhere inside of you Danny. Passion for what you do that says, yes, I believe in Elijah Burke. Passion that says he can defeat CM Punk. I know he can. Because if you don't believe in him, forget it. Forget all of this. This isn't OVW, it's a myth. A ghost. OVW died years ago, it's just on life support because you're too much of a coward to pull the plug because you don't know what else you'd do with your life if you didn't have it. Hell, who was the last wrestler that this place produced that went on to do anything in pro wrestling? Really anything. Brad Maddox? A guy that's so talented, he gets paid to sit at home. Serena? No, that's credit I deserve once again. Seriously who? Face it. This place is a joke and everybody that stands back there, know the truth now. You're all nothing in the back, you never will be anything, and this man right here, he knew it all along. He built up your hopes and dreams, playing on your desire to one day be the World champion like me, but it's never going to happen and he's admitting it right now if he refuses. You all lack the drive of CM Punk to break free. The drive that makes me the best in the world today, and the lack of that makes all of you what you are today.
The video ends as the lights go on with Burke readying for another possible surprise sneak attack, but nothing this time.
Danny Davis: Don't ever question that man's drive. The passion that every wrestler back there has, the determination. He cares more about this business than 100 CM Punk's. A man that walks out on it and turns a blind eye to anybody and everybody because he only cares about himself and getting buzz with your MMA adventure. You want it? YOU WANT IT?!? Where's that contract? Where's that damn piece of paper?
Elijah Burke: You don't have to do this man.
Danny Davis: No, I have to do it. If I don't believe in you, what does it say to everybody in the back? You've been places Pope. Places that even I never went before in this business. This isn't about me, it's about the teenager with a dream to make it that comes here to learn. I want them to know that you walk into OVW, you train here, it's still about tomorrow's superstars, today! Not some hack job that doesn't believe in what he's doing, that lost himself along the way. A con man like he is. I have honor, something you CM Punk, you wouldn't even know the definition of! Retribution, fine. You can have it. You beat Pope, you get your shot. But that's not going to happen. And not if, but when you lose, you can go back to whatever hole you crawled out of. Ain't that right Pope?
Elijah Burke: There ain't no way that you coming into this ring at Retribution, disrespecting ME! Disrespecting these fans! Disrespecting the lord almighty himself! You think I'm bad? I'm fixing to show you that I'm bad to the bone son! You chose the wrong place for your little crusade and the wrong wrestler to get all up in it with. Me and you, it's going down and CM Punk, you ain't coming back up! And that ain't the truth, that's the gospel cause Pope said so!
The fans cheer as referee Chris Sharpe passes the contract to Davis for him to sign. Burke follows as the shyster lawyer seems a little put off. Whether they called Punk's bluff and now he actually has to face the music or this is exactly what he wants, it's hard to tell. Mascagni picks up the contract and looks at it for a moment.
Elijah Burke: SIGN IT! Sign it you coward!
Mascagni hesitates before signing it in Punk's name, albeit perhaps somewhat reluctantly. The fans cheer as it is now official. Elijah Burke vs CM Punk at Retribution, and if Punk wins, he gets a shot at the Heavyweight Title, but if he loses, he will have to eat his words and for Punk, it is a lot of words. Dean says that clearly Punk never thought Danny Davis would agree to the added title shot and for the same logic that Danny would have to live with himself having no confidence in his own men, now Punk will have to live with himself if he loses because there will be no excuses. This isn't walking out after a loss to the World champion, this would be a loss to somebody that Punk just verbally placed as being at the bottom of the ladder, even though he has to know it isn't true. Mascagni and the lawyers exit the ring and go to leave. Burke turns to address Davis.
And with that, Mascagni directs the other 2 lawyers and they jump Burke from behind. Those aren't lawyers! They throw their jackets down and lay in. 1 holds Burke as another charges, but Burke kicks him in the midsection. Burke breaks from the other and lays in a right before a clothesline sends him over the top rope. The other "lawyer" gets up and Burke grabs him by the head, jumping up and dropping back to hit him with the Elijah Experience, a sitdown facebuster. Mascagni looks on from the floor, shaking his head as whatever the plan was has failed. Things appear to have went south for Punk in a hurry here tonight and in 2 weeks time, he will perhaps meet his maker. Punk vs Burke, January 17, Retribution. For Dean Hill and Michael Titus, Gilbert says so long and reminds viewers to tune in next week for more OVW.
