Steaming live from The Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky on January 17, 2015 via iPPV
Available through the Ohio Valley website or the WWN Live website
Heavyweight champion: Jamin Olivencia
Tag Team champions: Raul Lamotta & The Mexicutioner
TV champion: Eric Locker
Women's champion: Jessie Belle
Dark match sees Rump Thump defeat Dapper Dan @ 4:27 after the Rumper Stumper. Dan had the arms locked for the German suplex, but Thump used his rump to rear back and break himself free with a shot to Dan's midsection. He then charged for a clothesline, which Thump ducked to send Dan into the ropes. As he bounced back, he was caught with the butt butt to get put away for the finish. As with last time on iPPV, last minute internal tests of the stream are conducted here as any last minute glitches are hopefully fixed and worked out before going live.

The Blacklist defeat Tag Team champions Raul Lamotta & The Mexicutioner, The Wild Boyz, and The Skyrockers to capture the Tag Team Title @ 15:37 when Shiloh Jonze pinned Lamotta after The French Stallion delivered The French Connection, a running big boot, to the head of Lamotta as he was covering Jonze. Several close calls in this match as each team came close at some point with a near fall. The early story was the team work of Rockstar Ryan Howe & Aaron Sky having only teamed once before, and showing some issues as Sky's need for the spotlight began to irk Howe. EFD Eddie Diamond had the first near fall, hitting the flying elbow smash onto Sky, but Howe was in to break it up in time. The next near fall saw Howe connect with the Chart Topper, a blockbuster DDT off the second rope, onto The French Stallion, but Sky insisted on the tag. Howe was resistant, but Sky tagged himself in anyway as he got close enough and hit the springboard splash off the top rope onto Stallion, but Jonze was in to break it up. Finally, the champion's manager Shelly Martinez distracted the referee as Lamotta and Jonze went at it, allowing The Mexicutioner to hit Jonze with a spear. The cover was broken up by Sky and a free for all ensued, during which Lamotta was taken out by Stallion's finisher. Jonze covered and the referee turned to make the 3 after getting Mexicutioner out as The Wild Boyz and The Skyrockers were busy brawling outside the ring. Dean Hill calls it a dark day as control of the Tag Team championship falls back into the hands of The Blacklist after having lost them 4 months ago to the day.

Melvin Maximus defeats The Body Guy @ 5:19 via submission to The Bear Hug. A match filled with comedy as the size mismatch alone would have the odds makers on Vegas severely handicapping Body Guy's chances. A test of strength early on did not go as planned, but Body Guy didn't relent. Melvin then gave him the side headlock. It didn't matter as he quickly had back control. An eye rake would briefly give Body Guy control, but in going for his finisher, The Pedigree, he would be unable to lock the massive arms of the multiple time winner of the Kentucky Muscle bodybuilding event. The bitter end came for The Body Guy when those same arms locked him into the Bear Hug, forcing him to quickly submit as Melvin whipped him around like a rag doll. An impressive showing by Melvin Maximus as he could be a major player here as it is possible nobody in that locker room can match him in the strength department.

Rudy Switchblade defeats Rob Conway @ 9:25 via pinfall after The RudyKO, a jumping cutter. Both wrestlers were looking to make an impression in this match as The Ironman seeks to move up the ladder and not only contend for but become NWA World Heavyweight champion before the end of 2015, while Switchblade is fresh off a reveal as The Masked Turncoat that has left him as the most hated man in the company. Conway put up a good showing here as he seemed to be on the verge of a victory after a back and forth contest. He had Switchblade setup for The Ego Trip, his whiplash maneuver. Switchblade however would manage to take advantage of a winded Conway and push him back to give himself the room to hit The RudyKO like the snap of fingers. A big night for The Blacklist is complete as Switchblade follows the earlier Tag Team Title victory of Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion with this win. Combined with a Best of 5 series win over Jay Bradley and the first pinfall of Jamin Olivencia in 9 months in a tag team match, he has to be among the top contenders for the championship, if not THE top contender as much as Dean hates to admit it. Gilbert pushes that the Conway of even 6 months ago, he's hitting that Ego Trip and he wins the match. Has age caught up with The Ironman? Titus is adamant that the answer is yes and that not only will we never see Conway compete for the World Title, but his days of being a big name competitor here in Ohio Valley may have finally come to an end tonight. Out with the old, in with the new. The new being Rudy Switchblade as his time has arrived. Although his time may be cut short because the clock is ticking. Next Sunday, January 25, NWA presents Starrcade, Switchblade vs his arch rival Jay Bradley inside Hell in a Cell.
Ultimate X match for the TV Title

As the ring technicians work to setup the Ultimate X, a review of how the wrestlers got here. Eric Locker won the Future Talent Showcase tournament and pulled off what has to be one of the bigger upsets of 2014 when he defeated then TV champion Metal Master to capture the title. In subsequent rematches though, Locker showed his true nature as he would take a count out and get himself DQd to save the title. A third rematch was contested with the ruling that should Locker get counted or DQd, the title changed, but he retained after putting the referee out of position to hit a low blow kick on the challenger before using his finisher the Hurt Locker to put him away. Director of Authority Trailer Park Trash raised the stakes on the last TV when he added Paredyse and The Psychedelic Superstar Chris Silvio to the match, 2 former partners that have been at each other after Paredyse put Silvio out with post concussion syndrome for 2 months after jumping off a ladder to drive him through a table at the last iPPV, Rage In The Cage. Tonight, there are no DQs, no count outs, not even pinfalls or submissions. No ladders, no tables. The only way to win is to climb up and across the wires and secure the title for themselves as it hangs strapped in the middle. This is Ultimate X.
Big unannounced surprise here as joining the commentary team for the match was former NWA World champion Christopher Daniels. Both Dean and Gilbert stood for Daniels, though Titus could seemingly care less. Dean puts over Daniels as having retired at the top of the game about a year ago at the last Starrcade PPV. Daniels says that's a good segue way to get in a plug for the next NWA PPV, the 2015 edition of Starrcade, set for next Sunday, January 25 from the former home of The L.A. Kings and L.A. Lakers, The Forum having just reopened last year after several years of inactivity and renovations. Titus says it marks 1 year since Daniels cowardly avoided CM Punk. Dean tells him to can it and have some respect, but Daniels says it's ok. He's not here to talk about Punk or what a grade A a-hole Titus is, but rather Ultimate X. He is a veteran of the match and what awaits these 4 is a spectacle like no other.
Immediately at the bell, Locker would rush to a corner and climb to the top, doing his best to get to his title. Of course the other 3 were not about to let that happen. Metal Master was right after him by grabbing his leg and pulling him down to cause him to fall crotch first onto the top rope. Paredyse and Silvio meanwhile immediately started working away on each other. Daniels stressed on commentary that the biggest key to winning this match is isolation of yourself and distraction of your opponents, making it very unpredictable. As the action went on, Silvio would reverse Paredyse into the ropes and go for a clothesline, but Paredyse ducked, only to get caught by Locker. As Silvio turned, Metal Master charged, but he ducked and would serve to springboard Master up and over into a missile dropkick onto Locker. As the masked star got up, Silvio hammered him with the Psychedelic Superpunch and the match was his. Silvio went to the ropes and began to climb up to the wires. As he started a climb, Paredyse was in close after him. Paredyse kicked at Silvio as he hung off the wires, causing his legs to drop. A couple more kicks and Silvio dropped to the mat. Locker was up and grabbed Paredyse by the ankle, pulling him down as well.
The action continued with Silvio again climbing up, but getting caught in the corner by Metal Master. With both perched on the top turnbuckle, Metal Master went for a hurricanrana, but Silvio blocked it and held on to send the masked wrestler flipping back. Locker did his best Kurt Angle as he climbed up to the top rope looking for a belly to belly suplex on Silvio by standing them up. Silvio blocked though, but Paredyse was in behind Locker. Setting it up as he stands on the mat, Paredyse powerbombed Locker off the top rope, which also brought Silvio over with the belly to belly. Big spot as Paredyse looked to take advantage. He climbed up to the top rope and started a climb, but Metal Master was in close behind. The 2 battled with Metal Master eventually getting knocked down, thanks to Silvio and Locker prying at the legs from the mat. They then shifted to Paredyse, but he avoided their grabby hands. Paredyse flipped himself up over the wire in a skinning the cat motion, but letting go as he got to 90 degrees and flipping himself down into a modified shooting star press onto the 2. Everybody lay on the mat as Daniels pushed that they were lucky there was no 5th man right now.
As the match went on, the resident daredevil of OVW side of Paredyse would prevail. He pulled out a table from under the ring and setup both Locker and Metal Master on top in the ring. As noted, he had put Silvio through a table by jumping off a ladder at Rage In The Cage in October. He put Dylan Bostic through a table by jumping from the top rope to the outside of the ring. Paredyse then headed to the top rope, but before he could do anything, Silvio's valet Mary Jane had grabbed his ankle. Paredyse tried to shake her, but this would provide the distraction for Silvio to run the adjacent apron, stepping up to the middle rope and springboard into the Psychedelic Superpunch to knock Paredyse down, hitting the apron and dropping to the floor. Silvio sees his chance, but before he knew it, Metal Master was in behind him. Silvio fought to break free, but Metal Master brought him back with a belly to back suplex from the top rope. Fortunately for them, Locker had just got up and shoved the table out of the way. The commentators question that move. Locker though sets it up under the title! After taking his time, he stands on the table, trying to reach up and grab the title. Not quite there. Paredyse is back in, charges at Locker and hits a dropkick to the midsection that knocks Locker down to the mat. It is anybody's guess who will take this at the table remains setup.
As the match goes on, finally Metal Master and Silvio would be climbing along 1 wire. Silvio was able to kick Metal Master off, falling into the electric chair position on Locker's shoulders. Locker quickly lifted him to drop him into the grasp of his arms, clasping at the waste and driving Metal Master back with the Hurt Locker! Silvio climbed on, but so did Paredyse. They meet at the cross section. Both fight with the TV Title ready to be grabbed. They kick and fight, leading Paredyse to eventually bodyscissor Silvio. Paredyse let's go and the weight is too much, bringing Silvio with him to crash both into the table waiting below. Locker is able to quickly capitalize on this. Everybody is down and he is already at the top rope, climbing the wire. He gets to the cross section alone. Hooking his legs up, he hooks his elbows over the wires as well, and then frees the title. Locker has secured his championship belt and will retain the TV Title as he drops down to the mat.
This match took everything that these 4 had to give, but in the end, Locker shows he is the real deal as he retains @ 18:43. Mary Jane checks on Silvio as Paredyse gets looked at by the referee. Daniels says it is matches like this that may be a reason his career had to be cut short. Titus switched gears and said it was reasons like being a coward and avoiding CM Punk that cut his career short. He then wants Daniels to admit it. The only reason he retired was because he was afraid of Punk, he's a coward! Daniels tells Titus that he may be retired, but that doesn't mean he can't still fight. As he stood, Titus shot up and bolted to the back. The other 3 just laughed as Daniels put over that if anybody's a coward out here, it's clearly Titus. Both Dean & Gilbert thank Daniels and he is on his way, giving a wave to the Davis Arena fans on his way off to the back.

Michael Hayes defeats Rob Terry @ 9:06 via tap out to The Liberty Lock, a seated reverse cobra clutch. To say this was a gigantic win for Hayes would be an understatement. The 1 legged U.S. veteran from the Iraq war entered the match without his prosthetic leg, very much at the mercy of The Bully. Unfortunately, Terry was in no mood for mercy. At the insistence of manager Timmy Danger, he ordered Terry to deliver as much punishment as necessary to teach Hayes a lesson. Dean furiously wondered what lesson they could possibly teach somebody with the courage of this man? Nick Dinsmore was out, requesting Terry give Hayes back the prosthetic before the action started. Danger refused, but Dinsmore did his best mind games by saying that everybody here knows already that Terry wins this match as it stands now, but be a man and give Hayes a fighting chance. Beating a 1 legged man is cowardly enough, avoiding a 1 legged man with a prosthetic is just plain scared. Terry said fine, he'd beat Hayes either way and took the prosthetic and threw it down for Hayes. As he went to get it, Terry sucker kicked him to start the match and several minutes went by of a beating before Hayes surprised Terry by catching him into a jumping jawjacker out of nowhere to the knee. He then got the prosthetic on and it was like a new match as Hayes made a comeback, although Terry still regained the advantage. As he went for the powerbomb, Hayes would land a couple rights and manage to fall behind him. Hayes grabbed the arm and as Terry turned, he put in the reverse cobra clutch. Terry fought to free himself, but dropped to a knee. He was going out! Hayes finally dropped down and the Liberty Lock was in. Terry fought tapping but was eventually left with no choice. A surprising upset to some has Davis Arena going crazy, but Dean was adamant that he never stopped believing. Titus was speechless for once as Terry taps to Hayes?! Danger was in shock at ringside. Dinsmore handed Hayes an American flag, which he began to wave high for the crowd. Terry got up and looked it over. He then made a surprise move as Hayes readied for an attack - extended his hand! Hayes reluctantly shook it as Terry nodded and left the ring. Danger asked him what the hell was that, only to get shoved aside by Terry as he headed to the back. The Bully might be dead, but The American Hero lives as Hayes conquers.
TPT calls out Dylan Bostic
The Director of Authority Trailer Park Trash was out next. He asks everybody how they're liking the night so far? The action will resume shortly, but there has been a situation that has been a problem the last little while out here, that being Dylan Bostic. To quickly recap the situation, TPT says that he wanted a second chance at the TV Title after losing his guaranteed rematch, and to get that chance, there was a stipulation added that should he lose he would have to wrestle in a dress until he won. Almost 2 months went by, Bostic couldn't win, so what does he do? First show of 2015, he took his ball and he went home. Or as he put it, "on strike". TPT's got a lot of friends in union jobs and that right there is a slap in the face of a lot of hard working Americans out there. Bostic has no position to strike as a wrestler. So if he wants to come out here right now, they can figure out a solution to all this to get him back out here, doing his job, that being to wrestle. So get out here Bostic. No dress but street clothes, Bostic heads out to booing from the crowd and gets in the ring. TPT tells Bostic that this whole dress thing was about getting his ego in check. Bostic like to call himself the Justin Bieber of Professional Wrestling, and just like that punk kid, he's gotta learn his lessons the hard way. He thinks he's all that and then some, but his win-loss record the last couple months certainly says otherwise. He went from TV champion to wearing a dress, to losing every match out here, to going on strike. TPT finishes by saying that he needs to get his head in the game because he's shown he can be good, but as long as he acts the way he does, he doesn't mean a damn thing out here! Bostic surprisingly nods. The commentators act surprised by this humbling. TPT starts to speak as Bostic rips the mic away to answer back. Bostic tells him that TPT's getting confused at his old age. It's not ego when it's fact. Dylan Bostic is the most talented wrestler, the best looking wrestler, the smartest wrestler, and everybody in that locker room wishes they could be him, including TPT. He doesn't care what TPT says, he's not wrestling in a dress again, and if the D.o.A. doesn't like it, TPT can do something about it. Oh wait, he can't do something about it. See, as long as TPT is the D.o.A., he can't touch him. But, it doesn't mean anything about him doing this.
And with that, Bostic sucker punches the D.o.A. TPT goes down with a second shot and Bostic starts laying in the boots. Help comes from the back as Rump Thump comes out for the save. Bostic and him start exchanging punches before Rump Thump sends Bostic into the ropes, looking to hit the Rumper Stumper. Bostic holds on to the ropes, and as Thump lands and turns, Bostic charges with a clothesline. He begins laying the boots to Rump Thump until he gets turned from behind. TPT is up and he is laying into Bostic. He goes to send him into the ropes, but Bostic reverses and ducks his head. TPT telegraphs it and catches him with a double underhook DDT. The fans are going wild as TPT exits and heads up to the top rope! Perhaps looking to hit the Trailer Jack, his flying leg drop. Bostic however rolls out and decides to leave. Dean says he should back up his words and fight like a man, although Titus is more focused on TPT getting physical. That means he's history as the D.o.A. Dean points out Bostic hit him first, but Gilbert says this will be up to the OVW board and Danny Davis. There is a case to be made from both sides.

After making his surprise appearance at Rage In The Cage by giving new champion Jamin Olivencia the Go To Sleep, CM Punk unveiled his modus operandi. His plan was to win the Heavyweight Title, solely to vacate it in an effort to demean the championship when Ohio Valley's best could not defeat him. This, done in retaliation or sour grapes for Christopher Daniels avoiding a 1 on 1 title shot with him when World champion and instead opting to retire with the belt. This did not sit well with The Pope Elijah Burke who would stand up for OVW, but Punk took it a step further by making it personal between them with accusations of Burke being a poor wrestler and not being able to cut it on a bigger stage by choking. Punk raised the bar by shocking the wrestling community again by signing with UFC to fight in 2015 on the same night as the December 6 Saturday Night Special That was followed by a surprise GTS to Burke on the December 13 TV. Added is that should Punk win, he will get a shot at the Heavyweight Title. Should he lose, that's it. For Burke, this match is truly about retribution at this stage.
Both wrestlers come out and the Davis Arena is buzzing with anticipation. Would Punk give some words? Doesn't look like it. The bell rings as the 2 circle, ready to lockup. Punk instead shoots in for a takedown and manages to catch Burke off guard. Punk starts laying in with forearm shots as Burke rolls to his back. Punk quickly adjusts and hooks a leg under the chin of Burke and locks in the Koji Clutch! This match could be over in mere seconds, but Burke manages to rolls over and get into the ropes for a break. The MMA training of Punk as he readies for the UFC shows early here. Burke gets up after the break and Punk begins some body kicks. Burke tries blocking, but is unsuccessful at doing much. Punk runs back and hits the ropes, heading back at Burke with a leaping knee to the face that sends him outside. Punk gets up, hits the ropes again and does a suicide dive out onto Burke to take him out. The Pope seems out of his element early as Punk is not letting him get a breath even here. Punk rolls in, but as Burke gets up, he steps out to the apron. Burke goes to get in, but Punk runs at him from the side to catch him with a kick to the head that puts him back down. Punk gets in and tells the referee to count as this match could end barely 90 seconds in.
Burke is able to beat the count by rolling in at 9, but Punk continues his early domination. Burke is finally able to reverse Punk into the ropes after some more offense, and catches Punk with a quick clothesline. Punk gets up and takes a bodyslam. He pops up again and takes a Pimp Slap backhand to the face before Burke jumps up and delivers a double knee facebreaker. Burke covers, but Punk is able to kick out at the 2. Punk rolls out to the apron and gets up out there. Burke catches him holding the ropes and slingshots Punk back in, flipping him over the top rope and to the mat. As Punk gets up, Burke charges and connects with a running dropkick. Punk goes down in the corner as Burke charges in and springboards up into a handstand with the top rope, twisting into an elbow drop, aka the Outer Limitz Elbow. Burke pulls Punk to the middle of the ring and goes for the legs in a reverse cloverleaf, but Punk instead rolls through and sends Burke laying against the middle rope. If he were Rey Mysterio, the 6-1-9 would be a good move now, but as he's not, when he charges in, Burke instead turns and trips him into the same position. Burke gets up, runs back and charges with the Coronation, a leapfrog body guillotine. The tide is turning.
Burke pulls Punk so that his head is at the apron. He then heads inside and uses the top rope to springboard over into a double axe handle all the way to the floor. Burke heads back in and pulls Punk to the middle of the ring and covers, but only draws a 2. Burke then goes up to the top rope, but taking too long, Punk is up and falls into the ropes to cause Burke to lose his balance. Punk heads over and lands a right before climbing up top. With Burke prone, Punk delivers a big super frankensteiner. Punk then goes into a cover, but only gets a 2 count. Punk gets up and as Burke gets to a knee and steps up, he hits a step up enzuigiri. Punk then gets up and rather than capitalize, jests to the crowd. Dean says that this is Punk's ego getting the better of him. He tells everybody to look at their precious Pope now before he takes the bottom of his boot and rubs it into Burke's face. Punk then brings Burke up and hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. By the ropes, he heads out and delivers a slingshot somersault senton into a cover, only getting a 2 count.
Punk has had enough here. He signals it's over as he lifts Burke up and then hoists him into a fireman's carry. This is it, the GTS! Instead Burke knees Punk in the head several times and falls behind him. As Punk turns, Burke sweeps out the legs. He redirections them and slingshots Punk face first into the turnbuckle. As Punk lays there, Burke gets up and runs in with a big double high knee to the back, the Elijah Express. Punk is dazed as Burke awaits for him to turn. He goes to kick Punk, but the Straight Edge Superstar catches it and instead spins Burke. Punk catches him with a modified Pepsi Twist as he catches the short range lariat. Almost immediately from the downed position, Punk applies the Anaconda Vise. Burke tries to avoid tapping, quickly turning his attention to bringing a knee up to the back of Punk's head. A fourth is enough for Punk to lose his grip and Burke to get to the ropes. As Burke gets up, Punk locks in a side headlock and charges forward with a running bulldog. Punk turns Burke and covers ...

Burke manages to get a shoulder up in time as he narrowly avoids defeat. Punk argues that the referee was slow on the count. As he goes back to Burke, he takes a series of punches to the midsection instead, followed by a big uppercut, the 4-Up! Punk goes down, but Burke is slow to capitalize. He gets up and turns Punk, going back to the legs and a second try at his reverse cloverleaf submission. This time though he succeeds. Punk may have no choice but to tap. How humiliating would that be for Punk after all he has said? Punk lifts the arm as if to start tapping, but instead uses his other arm to raise himself up. He then uses his leg strength to flip Burke down to the mat and Pope lands in perfect position relative to Punk that he once again is able to quickly transition to the Anaconda Vise! Burke almost taps, but manages to brings his leg up and hook it across Punk's head and bring him back. Both wrestlers get up at the same time with Punk goes for a right hand, but Burke blocks and hits 1 back. Punk tries again, but Burke fires it back. Pope then backs Punk into the ropes and sends him across the right. Punk bounces back into a back body drop. As he gets up, he turns to a kick to the midsection, and as Punk bends over, Burke grabs the head and hits the Elijah Experience! The sitout facebuster connects and that is it ...

Punk barely kicks out. Burke doesn't want to waist time here though. He brings Punk back up with the momentum in his favor. Burke then delivers a series of rolling German Suplexes, before a big release on the third one. Burke covers, but Punk is close enough to the ropes that he gets a foot on the bottom rope. This time Burke questions the count, allowing Punk to roll to the apron and get up. As Burke turns back, Punk jumps and hits a springboard clothesline from the top rope. Both men are down as the punishment taken by Punk leaves him unable to capitalize on the explosive move. As they get up, Punk goes for a double underhook. He then lifts Burke, but Pope drops down to block it. Instead he breaks free and starts landing elbows. 1, 2, 3, and as Punk is dazed, Burke gives some Dusty Rhodes inspired theatrics before a big 4th. Punk however ducks under the 4th and instead catches Burke from behind in a quick Hangman's style neckbreaker. Punk rolls Burke into a cover, but Burke kicks out at 2. With Burke down, Punk picks him up and hits a quick DDT before heading outside and up to the top rope. Punk raises his arms in tribute to the late Macho Man Randy Savage before leaping off with a diving elbow drop. Punk covers again ...

Burke again kicks out. Gilbert wonders what it will take for somebody to win this match? Dean says that Burke knows what this win would mean for all of Ohio Valley, while Titus counters that everything is riding on this for Punk. Think of the headlines if the UFC's next big star loses to Elijah Burke? Punk brings Burke up and goes old school as he sets up for the Punk-Handle Piledriver, a pumphandle reverse piledriver. As he lifts him though, Burke drops back to his feet, bringing Punk up. In position, Burke delivers a jumping tombstone piledriver to the former World champion. No cover as Burke instead gets up with help from the ropes. As Punk gets up, Burke starts landing chops that start getting the "WOOOOO"s from the crowd. Backed into a corner, Burke fires Punk into the opposite corner. As Burke charges in, Punk gets up a boot to the face. With Burke dazed, Punk hits a roundhouse kick. He then locks in a double underhook, lifting Burke into a backbreaker, Welcome to Chicago Mother- well, Gilbert says his mother wouldn't approve of the rest. Punk then pulls Burke to the corner and jumps up to hit the Crooked Moonsault, a split legged variation. Burke however gets up 2 knees to block it. Punk clutches his midsection as Burke gets up. Punk follows as Burke steps up and drops Punk with the STO! A big move by Burke as he covers ...

Punk kicks out. Titus speculates that Burke just doesn't have enough to beat Punk, he never will. Dean says all it will take at this point is 1 more move, he just needs to dig deep. Burke considers what to do next as he goes over to Punk and gets him up. Burke has Punk in the corner and Irish whips him across, but Punk reverses it. Burke hits and sees Punk charge in with a step up high knee. He then turns Burke into the bulldog, but Burke shoves him away. Punk charges with a clothesline, but Burke ducks. Punk hits the ropes as Burke drops down to the mat for him to go over. Punk rebounds again as Burke leapfrogs, but as Punk goes under, he instead catches Burke in a fireman's carry. Just like that, Punk pushes Burke up and drops him onto the knee lift, Go to Sleep! Burke goes down as Punk covers ...

The familiar tune begins to play again. Half the fans love it, half the fans feel like the air has just been let out of the building. CM Punk wins the match at a time of 23:51. Not only does Punk win, but with the victory he has earned the right to challenge for the Heavyweight championship at a future date. The match between champion Jamin Olivencia and Cliff Compton still to come just became that much more important Gilbert says. Titus meanwhile is focused on the failure of Elijah Burke. Everything was at stake, Danny Davis put his trust in him, and Burke let him down. He lost and now Punk is in a position to win the championship and humiliate the company. Dean says Burke should never be ashamed of a performance like the one he just gave. Punk exits the ring and heads to the back after some rubbing in of the win. Burke gets up as the fans stand and give a good ovation for his efforts, even Dean and Gilbert stand. Burke seems disappointed in himself though. He exits the ring and nods at Dean & Gilbert. Titus then stands and tells Burke that he dropped the ball, he let Danny Davis down, he let every fan in this building down! Burke grabbed Titus as the fans cheered, but he thought better by letting go and instead letting out his frustrations by grabbing Titus' chair, folding it, and slamming it down into the floor. Burke kicked it away before continuing to the back. Gilbert says the emotions right now are very high, while Dean just calls Titus a low class jerk. Titus moves on, just saying he'll need a new chair.

Match #7The highly anticipated Battle of the Sexes II. The back story sees Jessie Belle have a change in attitude that led to her defeating Heidi Lovelace for the Women's championship at the September Saturday Night Special through cheating. It was later revealed that her father Dirty South Tracy Smothers was the voice in her ear. A rivalry ensued before a rare intergender 1 on 1 that saw Smothers defeat Lovelace with a cowardly punch to the jaw. Smothers only got worst as Belle continued to reign as champion. After a 2 month absence, Lovelace returned and immediately threw down the challenge for this match. Fearing Smothers lack of regard for the rules, D.o.A. Trailer Park Trash ordered a guest referee to keep order. Nobody knows how to break rules like The King Jerry Lawler. His feud with noted intergender wrestler Andy Kaufman left the comedian with a broken neck at 1 point, could Smothers face the same fate tonight? Or will Lawler be forced to raise his hand in victory as Lovelace leaves OVW?
Lawler is out first to a big introduction. Crown in hand, he waves to the crowd and takes time to shake hands with most ringside fans. Dean puts him over as a legend of Louisville wrestling, all over the south for that matter. Gilbert says all that's missing is Lance Russell and Dave Brown to call the match. Titus says they should all be so lucky that Russell & Brown aren't here and the mute buttons won't get a workout. After Lawler heads in, Smothers & Belle head out, followed by Lovelace. Before the action can start though, Lawler orders Belle to the back! The fans cheer as Smothers doesn't like that. Lawler then heads out and informs Dean to make an announcement. Dean says over the house mic that if Jessie Belle does not leave ringside, Smothers will forfeit and must leave Ohio Valley for good! Belle reluctantly leaves as the match gets started.
Smothers right away has a finger in the chest of The King. Lawler shoves the hand away as Smothers goes for a swing, but Lawler ducks and shoves Smothers away right into Lovelace, who connects with a forearm shot. A second and she sends Smothers to the ropes, but he reverses. He goes for a clothesline, but Heidi slides down between his legs. Smothers turns and takes several kicks to the gut. The last one though, he catches the leg and then trips out Lovelace, holding her foot. He then goes for a Figure 4 Leglock, but as he spins Heidi uses her free leg to kick Smothers off. Smothers charges back, but Heidi grabs him and drops down to monkey flip Dirty South onto his back. He goes to the corner and turns to be greeted with Lovelace charging in with a dropkick to the face. Heidi covers, but Smothers kicks out at 2. She gets up, but Smothers headbutts her in the stomach. He then gets up and sends her into the ropes, hitting a clothesline. The King warns him but Smothers in turn warns Lawler to stay back.
He then picks up Heidi and wastes no time. Pump handle slam. Rather than hit it quickly he instead positions her and thrusts his pelvis into her a few times as a lewd gesture. He then lifts her up, but Heidi instead drops behind him. Smothers turns and takes a kick to the midsection. He drops to a knee as Lovelace runs in and hits the Heidicanrana. Smothers goes down as Lovelace goes up top and comes off with the frog splash! She covers, but Smothers kicks out with force. What will it take? Lovelace runs at Smothers but he ducks and she goes over into a sunset flip. He avoids going back though and instead grabs her by the neck with his hands. He winds up for a right, but Lawler steps in! He won't let it happen and good for him. Smothers drops her and shoves Lawler. He does it again and Lawler finally reacts with a big right hand. Smothers falls back into a schoolgirl by Lovelace as she rolls him up and Lawler counts it, 1, 2, 3! Lovelace wins! Not only that, but Smothers must leave Ohio Valley now. The time is 6:04 as Lawler raises Lovelace's hand and even gets a kiss on the cheek for his work.
Needless to say, Smothers is pissed about this. He gets up and cheap shots The King from behind, knocking him into Lovelace to send her down. Smothers then turns The King and wrenches the left arm behind his head. What is this? No, he wouldn't. The Heart Punch! Smothers readies for the move and this could quite literally kill the man. Smothers has his right hand in a fist, ready to go. As he winds up, Lawler pulls him in and knees him in the gut. With Smothers bent over, Lawler takes off the ref shirt and has wrestling attire underneath. Solely for this, he drops the strap! The fans cheer as Lawler steps in, lifts Smothers up and drops him with the piledriver. Smothers is down and out as Lawler gets up with his music playing. Lovelace gets back in and raises his hand. The King reigns on this day as he has cleaned up the Dirty South so to speak. Titus calls this a sham from the get go. Dean tells him to take it up with somebody that cares. The bottom line is that Smothers must leave Ohio Valley. Goodbye and good riddance!
Heavyweight Title match
Match #8VS |
This is what it's all about. Both the champion Jamin Olivencia and challenger Cliff Compton have been riding a wave the last few months. Most notably Gilbert notes was the last iPPV Rage In The Cage where Olivencia ended the record reign of then champion Marcus Anthony, and Compton led Team OVW to a win inside War Games over Doug Basham's Blacklist. Despite the loss, Shiloh Jonze & French Stallion wouldn't leave so easily, nor would the masked turncoat. They targeted Olivencia and when Compton became the new #1 contender, he became a target as well. Finally on the December 20 TV, the masked man was revealed as Rudy Switchblade, seemingly jealous that the company looked to Compton to be a savior and ignored him. He has played an important role in this rivalry, but Dean hopes he will play no part tonight. Another factor to consider is CM Punk winning earlier tonight. He now will get a title shot, and whether it will be against foe Olivencia or friend Compton is an interesting question that would not discount the idea of Punk making his presence felt here.
"Hold Tight" by Dave Dee starts and out comes Compton to a big pop. He gets in the ring, looking ready to go. The champion Olivencia follows in high energy mode, title belt in hand. He hands it off to the referee, who shows it to Compton before holding it up. That is what it's all about. The gold that all these men want to claim as their own, but until somebody defeats Jamin, it is his and his alone. The bell rings as Compton could do it tonight, right now.
The match starts out with a stand off. Fans seem split on the 2 wrestlers with half behind Olivencia and the other half behind Compton. A lock up follows that sees Compton get the champion into a side headlock. Olivencia takes him into the ropes and sends him across, dropping down as Compton runs the ropes, followed by a leapfrog. Olivencia then attempts a hiptoss, but Compton stands firm. Instead he reverses Olivencia into a hiptoss as he steps across. The champion gets up and Compton takes him to the mat with an armdrag takedown, followed by a bodyslam. Compton goes for a quick elbow, but Olivencia moves. As they get up, Olivencia goes to the headlock and takes down Compton. The challenger manages to get a leg up and counter by locking in a headscissors on the ground, but Olivencia breaks free with a kip-up. As Compton gets up, Olivencia goes for a dropkick, but Compton sidesteps it, grabs the legs and jumps across to hook him into a cover for a 2 count. Getting up, Compton goes for a clothesline that Olivencia ducks and turns into a backslide, getting a 2 count. Compton rolls out to the floor to try and slow down the pace after a hot start to the title match.
Heading back in, the 2 lock up again. This time Compton backs Olivencia into a corner and feigns a clean break, but instead slaps the chest. Olivencia reels out of the corner as Compton sends him across and hits a back body drop. Compton then grabs the leg and drives an elbow into the knee as he goes to the mat. He gets up and repeats before going to a standing ankle lock. Olivencia is on his back as Compton twists away. Using his free leg, the champion kicks Compton back into the ropes. He bounces back into a drop down toe hold. Olivencia transitions from that into crossing Compton legs and bridging back into a rear chinlock. Compton reaches for the ropes, trying to avoid tapping. The added pressure from the leglock has to be putting a great deal of strain on the back as well. Finally Compton gets to the ropes and draws a break. As he gets up, Olivencia hooks him and delivers a vertical suplex. He then heads up to the top rope, leaping down onto Compton with a 180 degree turning splash, but Compton gets his knees up. The challengers covers ...

Olivencia manages to kick out just in time to save his title. Compton quickly covers again, but the champion easily kicks out at 2. Compton then goes for a headlock on the mat. Olivencia though is able to get a knee and deliver an elbow to the gut. A second and he frees himself. He then runs into the ropes and charges back, but Compton gets a knee and catches him in the midsection. Picking up Olivencia, Compton goes for The Media Blitz, a sitout scoop slam piledriver. Olivencia however managed to instead drop behind Compton and run him into the ropes with a go behind into a rollup. At the count of 2, Compton used the momentum to carry Olivencia back and reverse it into a 2 count of his own. As they get up, Olivencia charges with a clothesline, but Compton ducks. As both turn, they both go for a clothesline and simultaneously deliver one to send the other to the mat. With both wrestlers down on the mat, from the back comes Rudy Switchblade! The wrestler who turned his back on Ohio Valley and masqueraded as the masked turncoat to torment the company. What is he out here for?
Initially Switchblade just watches as referee Chris Sharpe warns him to leave now. Switchblade throws his hands up though, saying he's just an observer. As the 2 wrestlers get up, Compton goes for a right, but Olivencia blocks it and fires one back of his own. Compton tries again, but Olivencia again blocks and returns. Olivencia sends another and backs Compton into the ropes. He sends him across and leaps to hit a dropkick. He gets up and is fired up as he spins before stopping to take notice of Switchblade on the floor. He tells Switchblade to get the hell out of here now! Switchblade stands his ground though. Olivencia goes back to Compton, but gets a shot to the midsection. Compton then tucks his head under the chin of the champion as he stands and drops down with a jaw jacker. Compton now takes notice of Switchblade and echoes the champ's sentiments, wanting him gone. He takes it a step further as he stands on the ropes, pointing down and telling him to leave now. This time however Compton heads out after him. Switchblade steps back as Compton is in pursuit. Suddenly from the ring comes Olivencia, diving out onto Compton to take him out. The ref starts a count as Switchblade looks on. Olivencia is up first and rolls in, quickly rolling back out to break the count. Olivencia then grabs Compton and rolls him in, pointing at Switchblade again. The ref briefly turns his attention to Compton on the mat, allowing Switchblade to take advantage of the champion, grabbing him by the neck and dropping him from a knee on the apron down to the mats with the RudyKO! Switchblade is up and immediately throws up his hands when Sharpe turns to say he did nothing. The referee is suspicious and Switchblade finally leaves, having done what he came to do.
The referee begins a count, getting up there. At 9 though, Compton steps in and waves it off. He doesn't want a count out end, nobody does. He steps outside and grabs Olivencia to roll him back into the ring. Compton steps in and picks him up, locking him in the front facelock as he preps for the Cliffhanger to close the deal. Compton raises an arm and steps up to the second rope for the springboard DDT, but as he turns, Olivencia instead shoves him off. Compton steps back into Olivencia leaping into a bodyscissors and turning Compton before dropping him with a DDT. The Standing O! This is the move that won Olivencia the title off Marcus Anthony at Rage in The Cage in October. He is slow to capitalize though, but finally gets over and drapes an arm across the challenger ...

Compton manages to get a shoulder up. Olivencia might have met his match tonight in Mr. 1859. Both are slow to get up, but Olivencia makes it to his feet first. He heads outside the top rope. As Compton gets up, the champion flies with a missile dropkick that connects. Olivencia covers, but Compton kicks out at 2. Olivencia stands and steps back, likely readying for a second try at the Standing O. Compton gets up and is dazed. He turns to a charging Olivencia leaping up into a bodyscissors. Instead Compton turns and manages to drive Olivencia back first into the corner. He quickly gets the front facelock, steps up and springboards off into the DDT. Compton has hit the Cliffhanger and this could be the end. All he needs to do is cover. He gets over and hooks the leg ...

Olivencia kicks out! Compton can't believe it! He sighs as he comes within an inch of becoming the champion. He stands up and goes to pick up Olivencia. He readies for perhaps a second take of the Cliffhanger. He locks in the front facelock, but before anything could happen, Olivencia steps in and pulls Compton down into a small package ...

The small package is enough as Olivencia pins the challenger to retain the title at a time of 17:38. Compton immediately sits up, mouthing "mouther f*****". He drops the match and came so close to winning. Dean speculates that Compton let his foot off the gas and it cost him. Sharpe takes the title belt from ringside as Olivencia still lays on the mat exhausted. He goes to hand it to the champ, but Compton grabs the belt away. What is this? Compton looks at the belt as Olivencia starts to stand. Gilbert says it was a long match and maybe coming so close has pushed Compton over the edge, speculating he's about to hit him with the title belt. Dean says he hopes that's not the case as Compton is a better man than that. Titus just says to do it! Hit him! Olivencia stands as Compton extends the belt and hands it to the champion. He takes it, but Compton is sure to let him know that he was this close. Olivencia drapes it over his shoulder and nods, slapping the belt and saying "any time". Compton nods and drops down to roll out of the ring and leave to the back, a possible rematch in the future? Olivencia takes the belt and goes to the corner, stepping up and raising it high above his head. The fans are cheering as Olivencia steps down and walks to the adjacent corner, doing the same.
Olivencia continues to the next corner as the commentators make mention of it. Last time at Rage In The Cage on iPPV in October, CM Punk emerged to give Olivencia the Go To Sleep. Fast forward 3 months to tonight, Punk has earned himself a title match, but when? That is the big question now that the why and the if has been answered. Titus says what about Rudy Switchblade though. He pinned Olivencia in a tag team match a week ago on TV, he pinned Rob Conway tonight, and he even made his presence felt in this match here tonight. If anybody deserves a chance, nobody can deny it is him! Gilbert says that before that though, Switchblade must survive Hell In A Cell next Sunday against Jay Bradley as the NWA presents Starrcade. As always, with the answers of the night come more questions and you'll want to tune in next Saturday for OVW TV, and in just 3 weeks time on February 7, a quick turnaround, the next Saturday Night Special. For Dean Hill, for Michael Titus, Gilbert Corsey says so long until the next time.
