Rob Conway defeats Dapper Dan @ 5:13 via pinfall after the Ego Trip, a Whiplash. This was an important match for the Ironman, having set out to climb the ranks of the NWA and challenge Samoa Joe for the World Title, only to taste defeat a week ago at Retribution against Rudy Switchblade. Titus pushes that Conway can't hack it anymore, and where as he once was at the top of his game, wrestlers like Switchblade are the present and the future. Conway had a rough go against Dapper Dan early, even taking his finishing move of the big German Suplex, but kicking out at the 2. Conway would make a comeback and manage to finish Dapper Dan off for the victory. Gilbert says that Conway will need a lot more W's and no knock on Dapper Dan, but against stiffer competition at that, if he wants to compete for the World Title. Dean says if anybody can, it's Conway.

Melvin Maximus defeats The Body Guy @ 2:36 via submission to The Bear Hug. Body Guy was looking for revenge from the loss dealt by his former body guard last Saturday and was quick to jump Melvin right off the bell. Laying into him, it wouldn't take long for the former 2 time winner of the Kentucky Muscle bodybuilding contest to make a comeback as he caught Body Guy with a big clothesline. From there, he locked in the bear hug and Body Guy was left with no other option but to submit before collapsing to the mat upon release by Maximus. No doubt about it today as Melvin Maximus again makes his former master submit and perhaps puts the exclamation mark on their rivalry.

The Gossip Minute with Mandy Leon
New segment as newcomer to the broadcast team, The Gossip Girl Mandy Leon runs down some of the latest news and rumors that are making the rounds from backstage at the Davis Arena. Fact or fiction, you decide ...- Jay Bradley has been busy training for the Hell In A Cell match in his home town of Chicago, serving as an MMA sparring partner for CM Punk
- The Bully Rob Terry didn't leave Ohio Valley after suffering a loss to Michael Hayes at Retribution, he was fired by Timmy Danger
- Speaking of Timmy Danger wrestlers, Marcus Anthony remains under contract to him and will continue to forcefully sit out
- Dirty South Tracy Smothers has left town per the stips of the Heidi Lovelace match, heading to Memphis in pursuit of The King Jerry Lawler for revenge
Tag Team Title match
Match #3VS |
Tag Team champions The Blacklist defeat Raul Lamotta & The Mexicutioner to retain the title @ 7:52 when Shiloh Jonze pinned Lamotta after The French Stallion hit him with The French Connection and reversed a cover. During a competitive match, EFD Eddie Diamond came out and approached the manager of the challengers, Shelly Martinez, presenting her with flowers. She seemed taken back by the gesture, not knowing what to do. Diamond then got to 1 knee presenting them, leading to The Mexicutioner coming over and grabbing the flowers to throw them down and tell EFD to get the hell out of here. This took away the referee's attention as Lamotta had a cover on Jonze, only to get side swiped by French Stallion hitting his running big boot to the head and putting Jonze on top. The champions retain as Martinez is beside herself at the loss. Mexicutioner heads back in, but the champions get out to the floor. Dean says it is a shame that any championship have fallen into the hands of The Blacklist given their agenda of a takeover, but Titus thinks it's just the first domino to fall as before long, Rudy Switchblade will have the gold as well. Gilbert meanwhile emphasizes that Lamotta & Mexicutioner just lost, thanks in part to EFD of The Wild Boyz, and they are not likely to take the loss without some form of vengeance against Diamond in the weeks to come.

Rebel defeats Ray Lynn @ 3:45 via pinfall after a split legged leg drop. Newcomer to the Ohio Valley femmes fatale division sees Rebel score a victory displaying a great deal of flexibility with not only her finisher, but her entrance as she does the splits across the bottom rope before entering. Much of the match is used to talk about the change coming with champion Jessie Belle as going forward, she will no longer have Dirty South Tracy Smothers in her corner thanks to him being forced to leave town with a loss to Heidi Lovelace at Retribution. That opens the floor up to Lovelace maybe getting a fair rematch, or maybe Mary Elizabeth Monroe, both of whom fell victim to the antics of Smothers outside the ring.

10 man Battle Royal
Match #5The 10 wrestlers vying for the next shot at Eric Locker's TV championship are Aaron Sky, Chris Silvio, Deonta Davis, J Best, Jon Ramser, Leon Shelly, Metal Master, Paredyse, Rump Thump, and Ryan Howe. The match gets started in a hurry and it doesn't take long for the first elimination with Sky sending Ram Jam over the top rope with a superkick to the face. The second elimination sees Paredyse catch Shelly with the Keister to the Kisser in the corner. After thrusting Shelly's face into his rear end from a headscissors, he keeps hold of the top rope and flips him out to the floor. The third elimination sees Rump Thump going for the Rumper Stumper on Davis, but Davis holds onto the ropes. He charges at Thump, but he side steps and guides Davis over the top and to the floor. The fourth elimination sees J Best charging at Metal Master, only to have the masked wrestler drop down and pull the top rope down to send Best outside. The fifth sees Dylan Bostic reappear from earlier and get on the apron, grabbing Rump Thump as revenge for his getting involved in his affairs at Retribution last week. Silvio takes advantage of the distraction by hitting the Psychedelic Superpunch as Bostic pulls Thump over the top and to the floor.
With the ring presence cut in half, the sixth elimination sees Sky looking to get a second elimination on Metal Master. With him against the ropes, Paredyse comes from behind and instead lifts Sky up to drop him out to the floor. Sky can't believe it, but the show goes on as Paredyse and Silvio pair off, while Howe and Metal Master pair off. The crowd gets going as Paredyse gets the better of Silvio, eventually heading to the top rope. From ringside though, valet Mary Jane gets on the apron and grabs the ankle of Paredyse to stop him from jumping. This gave Silvio time to get up and head to the ropes to step up into a big Psychedelic Superpunch that knocks Paredyse off the top rope and to the floor. Howe meanwhile sends Metal Master to the floor and the match is down to 2.
Paredyse is still at ringside and goes after the valet. This gets Silvio's attention and leads to him turning his back on Howe. The Rockstar tries to throw Silvio to the floor, but he holds onto the top rope and holds on to skin the cat. As he comes back up, he catches Howe in a headscissors to try and pull him out. Howe goes over, but lands on the apron. The 2 wrestlers get up and start trading punches with Silvio getting the better. He backs up and charges with the superman punch finisher, but Howe manages to duck between the top and middle ropes and catch Silvio with a knee to the midsection that drops him down to the floor. The Rockstar wins and will challenge Locker for the TV Title. Keeping stone faced, Locker gives no reaction and when asked on his thoughts about facing Howe, Locker only gets up and holds his TV Title belt up. Howe points down at him and signs that the belt is coming his way.

No DQ match
Match #6VS |
Michael Hayes defeats Timmy Danger in a No DQ match @ 5:29 via submission to The Liberty Lock, a reverse seated cobra clutch. A lot of toying with the manager by the 1 legged Iraqi war vet, complete with prosthetic leg back after the iPPV victory over The Bully Rob Terry. Dean kept wondering if the Terry rumors were just a ploy to give Danger an out with the No DQ rule by having him interfere, but no such luck. Instead, Hayes had little regard for the manager, enjoying every minute of the beating. Danger would try to leave at 1 point, having had enough, but Hayes went through the curtain and emerged a few seconds later pulling Danger back to the ring by his hair and rolling him back in. Danger begged for mercy, but Hayes would hit a jaw breaker with his knee and then finish Danger off. For good measure he left it on past the bell. Titus called for the referee to reverse the decision, but Dean said and what disqualify Hayes in a No DQ match? This is what Danger deserves. Finally Hayes released it, was handed an American flag and waved it around the Davis Arena as Danger rolled out to the floor in defeat.
A brief rundown of next week follows. The day before the Superbowl, Ohio Valley presents "Super Saturday", including a Women's Title match with champion Jessie Belle defending against both Heidi Lovelace and Mary Elizabeth Monroe in a 3 way dance, Heavyweight champion Jamin Olivencia is here, plus the announcement of who is the new D.o.A. And a reminder, Sunday January 25, NWA presents Starrcade. Jay Bradley vs Rudy Switchblade, Hell In A Cell. Could The Backlist's reign of terror get derailed on national PPV? For Dean Hill & Michael Titus, Gilbert Corsey saying so long until then.
Websclusive match #1
Heidi Lovelace & Mary Elizabeth Monroe defeat Taeler Hendrix & Seleziya Sparx @ 5:02 when Hendrix tapped out to Monroe's Rainbow Cross, a modified STO. With both Lovelace and Monroe set to challenge Jessie Belle for the Women's Title on the next TV in a 3 way, this gave both a good opportunity to get ready. Commentators for the match were The Fan Advocate Terry Boddie and Mr. Wrestling Nick Dinsmore. They might have gotten along now, but Dinsmore thinks it is almost a mistake to build a bond only to have to turn around and ignore it in a week's time. That could favor Belle retaining, with or without Tracy Smothers in her corner.VS |
Websclusive match #2
TV champion Eric Locker defeats Bud Dwight in a non title match @ 5:20 via pinfall after the Hurt Locker, an electric chair into a German suplex. Big opportunity for The Party Starter, but Locker was motivated in this outing and was able to finish him off despite the title not being at stake. With Rockstar Ryan Howe now the new #1 contender to the championship, Locker may finally meet his match. Dinsmore states that he was impressed with Locker's performance in the Ultimate X, but whether he is the real deal or not remains to be seen as there is not yet enough evidence. Boddie adds that Locker still has yet to taste defeat via a pinfall or a submission, but as the competition level increases, the chances of that extending much longer diminish.VS |
