IMPACT WRESTLING
Ep. 10
Taped 02/19/15
Aired 02/26/15
AJ Styles, followed by manager Rob Van Dam, Austin Aries, Kazarian, and the Young Bucks, otherwise known as The Foundation, hits the ring to start the show. Styles immediately calls out the Beat Down Clan, and the BDC, comprised of MVP, Samoa Joe, Low Ki, Homicide, and Michael Tarver, heads out, ready for a fight, when Kurt Angle steps out to intervene. Angle says they want to fight? Tonight, Styles and Aries takes on Joe and Ki, and these fans will get to see a proper show down of some of the best in the business! The fans like that and the Foundation leave the ring, never turning their backs on the BDC as they prepare for the big match later in the night.
Trent Barreta vs. "Cut Throat" Curtis Axel
Barreta is able to defeat a tough, straight forward challenger in Axel, who would get a few near falls near the end, but eventually would fall victim to a Gobstopper from Barreta to lose by pinfall.
After the match, Barreta has words for the Heatseekers, saying he wants another match with Curt Hawkins!
Backstage, we see 3lite standing in, as Jay Lethal holds his X Division title in hand, wearing a fine tailored suit, as Alex Shelley and Ricochet stand close by, dressing much more casually. Lethal goes on to say that an enemy of his friend is his enemy, and tonight, he's going to show the world what that means. He says it's about time, he's got an itch and he needs to scratch it! Tonight, Chris Sabin, he thinks he's a real tough guy, he thinks he's A BIG SHOT, well he's got a chance to take the BIGGEST SHOT OF 'EM ALL, and he gets to face THE GREATEST CHAMPION IN WRESTLING TODAY, OR ANY DAY, BECAUSE TONIGHT... MAIN EVENT! JAY LETHAL AND CHRIS SABIN, YOU WANTED THE BEST, WELL STAY TUNED TO WATCH HIM! YEAH!
"The AK-47" Allysin Kay w/ Kyle O'Reilly vs. Mia Kim
The Dragon's Den's female representative, Kay, came out plying a more hard hitting, strong style strategy, which stifled the quicker, more flashy offense of Yim. Kay would deliver a Blizzard Suplex to drop Yim on the back of her head hard and end the contest looking dominant as Kyle O'Reilly applauded.
After the match, O'Reilly helps Kay put on a Dragon's Den t-shirt and hat before Bobby Fish hit the ring with a microphone. After conducting a very post-fight MMA style interview with Kay that lasts about a minute, detailing how she felt in the match and when she knew she had the win, Fish then goes on to say he's excited tonight to see two more Dragon's Den fighters in action, as Jimmy Jacobs and Roderick Strong team up to take on a couple of undisciplined, under trained losers who are affiliated with an inferior group called the Heatseekers. O'Reilly then gets on the microphone and says John Morrison and Zack Ryder are going to find out why the Dragon's Den is located right off the highway to the Danger Zone! They all pose, obviously pleased with themselves, as we cut backstage.
Backstage, Drew Galloway is standing in with Christy Hemme, looking pleased. Christy asks if Drew is worried about the Heatseekers seeking revenge after his quick roll up last week, and Drew retorts asking if Hemme has ever seen the bloke named Bram in action. Hemme slowly responds, "Yeesssss..." and Drew coyly responds that that's the only thing he has to worry about tonight, and then struts off, looking confident.
Drew Galloway vs. "The King of Hardcore" Bram
Galloway is able to get the better of the British star Bram early, pulling some quick moves and takedowns, but Bram is able to hit a knee, followed by a face rake, and begins really beating on Galloway in a bad way, sending him around ringside, allowing the fans to get up close to the action. Bram calls for the end, looking for his Impaler DDT, but Galloway pulls a quick move, reversing and pulling Bram into a Double Arm DDT, causing Taz to nearly convulse with excitement at this quick turn of events as Galloway gets the win!
Before the next match, we've backstage with the Heatseekers, comprised of Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks, John Morrison, Zack Ryder, and Santana Garrett, standing in with Christy Hemme. Hawkins starts by congratulating Trent Barreta on his win, but Curtis Axel is no Curt Hawkins, and next week, he's going to find that out again when he gets beat a second time. Tyler Reks then takes over, directing his comments to Hemme. Reks says he's truly disappointed that Hemme would think he'd go and attack Drew Galloway for what? Beating him fair and square? Reks says even a dead cat can bounce, and while Drew Galloway's had now a lucky couple of weeks, his joy will be taken from him sooner than later, and it'll be inside the ropes, for a legitimate contest, not some kind of cowardly attack. They are the Heatseekers, not the Beat Down Clan, they have class. Morrison then takes over and says the Dragon's Den are also making a lot of bold claims and trying to come up the ladder, but if you've been watching the show, you know who the hottest group in this company is, and that's the Heatseekers. Allysin Kay is toughest member of the Dragon's Den, and if she were in the match, Ryder says he might be afraid, which JoMo agrees, but Morrison says it's not her, it's two even more estrogen filled losers named Strong and Jacobs, and they are going to find out why nobody can stand THE HEAT. Yeah, they fist bump and everything on that one, and they are right, nobody can stand them.
The Heatseekers (John Morrison & Zack Ryder) w/ Santana Garrett vs. The Dragon's Den (Jimmy Jacobs & Roderick Strong) w/ Bobby Fish
Morrison and Ryder looked pretty confident here, and showed some good good tag team coordination early, putting a hurting on Jacobs for a few minutes during the start and getting the fans against them. Strong makes a blind tag and makes his way in with a Sick Kick to Ryder, sending him flying out of the ring! Morrison, a multiple time former World Tag Team champion, held it together and delivered a Flying Chuck to Strong after avoiding some offense, but only got a two count. Strong would reverse as Morrison was looking for the Moonlight Drive, only to get rolled up with a quick School Boy for a two. Garrett jumps up on the apron, protesting, and Fish rushes over, grabbing her foot, only to get blasted by Ryder. Strong is distracted as Jacobs goes over to try to interject, giving Morrison an opening to land a low blow, followed by the Moonlight Drive, and the referee turns to count the fall and it's over!
Jacobs and Fish begin trying to lay into Morrison and Ryder as Strong tries to pull himself up, but here's the rest of the Heatseekers, Hawkins and Reks, down there to switch the odds! Reks lands a huge boot to Fish, taking him down, then yokes up Jacobs for a quick and painful Killjoy, driving him head first. Out from the back rushes the rest of the Dragon's Den, Chris Hero, Kyle O'Reilly, and Allysin Kay, and the Heatseekers make a quick exit. The Heatseekers look proud of themselves leaving, while the Dragon's Den look very determined inside the ropes, assisting their fallen brethren.
Backstage, the Revolution of James Storm, Abyss, Chris Sabin, and Eric Young are standing in a darkened corner of the arena, brooding about tonight. Storm says big opportunities are on the horizon, as their enemies mount up and prepare for war. Storm says Abyss has a big opportunity to make an impact, facing an old friend of his, and now a sworn enemy in Bobby Roode. Chris Sabin then says Jay Lethal made the biggest mistake of his career and has given him one of the biggest opportunities of his, as tonight, he's going to take Jay Lethal's title and then take his shot at Daniel Bryan, where he will show everyone what he can really do, and why he is the real best wrestler alive!
Bobby Roode vs. Abyss w/ James Storm
Bobby Roode takes a lot of damage early by the monstrous Abyss, but manages to gain a foothold, landing some quick, high impact offense, gets a near fall after showing some strength in lifting Abyss and drilling him with the Double R Spinebuster. Roode gets distracted with Storm on the outside, the two exchanging words, but which gives Abyss time to recover and hit a Black Hole Slam, but only for a two count! Abyss grabs up the referee afterwards, threatening him and the referee is scared to death. Roode stumbles up to a knee as Abyss has the ref turned, and in comes Storm... BOOM! Superkick connects, and Roode is out. Abyss tosses the referee to the side and picks up Roode, who's practically dead weight, and manages to get him on his shoulders... SHOCK THERAPY! It's all over there. The Revolution manage to screw over Roode again, and the fans aren't too happy about it.
Madison Rayne & Mickie James vs. The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky)
The new Knockouts champion, Rayne, teamed up with the crafty veteran James, both of which have had their problems with the Beautiful People as of late. Rayne and James would control much of the match, but things would break down, as the referee lost control of the match thanks to the Beautiful People pushing the boundaries of the rules, leading to Love delivering a Botox Injection to Rayne as Sky had James on the outside, pinning the champion and getting a big win!
After the match, Love grabs the Knockouts title and a microphone, stating that next week, the title is hers, and then at Bound for Glory, she's going to take that ugly tramp AJ Lee's gold, too!
The Foundation (AJ Styles & Austin Aries) w/ Rob Van Dam vs. The Beat Down Clan (Samoa Joe & Low Ki) w/ MVP
Styles and Aries are both very impressive, and they worked well early on, but Joe and Ki are former World Tag Team champions together and have a chemistry that was hard for Styles and Aries to match. Aries would make a calculated error at one point, diving to the outside to take out Samoa Joe, only to have Joe simply walk out of the way looking uninterested and Aries drove his skull into the guard rail! Styles and Ki were on the inside, trading blows, which Ki looked to be getting the better of the World Heavyweight champion, only to have Styles catch him with a Pele Kick out of nowhere! As Styles was getting Ki up for the Styles Clash, Joe sneaks up from behind and locks on the Coquina Clutch, taking him back and down, and Styles' eyes roll into the back of his head! It's all over! The BDC get it!
Joe is refusing to let go, however, and that leads the Young Bucks and Kazarian to hit the ring, which in turn leads the rest of the BDC to head out with chairs in hand! Things are looking bleak when once again, out to the ring hits Bobby Lashley! Lashley comes in and sends Homicide and Ki out of the ring, then backs up Joe, who's trying to reason with him, only to leave him open for a Superman Punch from Michael Tarver, knocking him out cold! Tarver stands tall, as MVP raises his hand, and the fans now want more than ever to see Lashley and Tarver go at it again! And now that Samoa Joe has successfully gotten a win over AJ Styles, one has to wonder if he'll be wearing the big gold once again!
X Division Title:
Chris Sabin w/ James Storm vs. Jay Lethal (c) w/ Brooke
In what was a brilliant and exciting main event, Sabin and Lethal had a Hell of a contest. Sabin would take the match to Lethal early, taking him to the outside and sending him into the crowd with blazing chops. Lethal manages to battle back, lifting Sabin and dropping him knee first onto the guard rail before getting him in position and then applying a Figure Four around the turnpost, causing Sabin a lot of anguish to his formerly hurt knee. Lethal attacks Sabin's knee hard, but Sabin shows his desire, fighting through the pain. Lethal is able to reverse Sabin's attempt at a Cradle Shock, delivering the Lethal Combination for a two count. Lethal calls for the end and heads up top, leading James Storm to get on the apron, but out from the crowd rushes Bobby Roode, who pulls Storm off the apron and sends him into the crowd, and the two brawl through the audience! Sabin is back up, though, and he crotches Lethal up top! Sabin looks like he's thinking Huracanrana, but Lethal blocks it, then grabs Sabin's leg and jumps off the buckles to the floor, cranking his knee over the top rope and causing Sabin to writhe in pain on the mat! Lethal slides in and sizes Sabin up, who hobbles to his feet, then comes off the ropes, handspringing and delivering the Lethal Injection! Lethal lays back on Sabin, making the count with his fingers as the ref counts to three, and the rest of 3lite heads from the back to celebrate!
Alex Shelley and Ricochet are holding up Lethal's arms, giving him accolades as Brooke straps the belt around his waist. Shelley then grabs a microphone and directs the crowd to the best group in the world today, and the greatest champion walking God's green Earth, and 3lite proceeds to flash their hand signal as the show comes to an end.
