In a nod to it's roots of the Independent Union the show fades in on a flame, but unlike the crackling flames of a camp fire it's the flickering of a candle. Jinsei Shinzaki is lighting his last incense stick as he kneels in prayer. Shinzaki's eyes go white when he looks at the camera as he has a vision of the events of the evening. His eyes flutter a moment before he whispers "Fracture..." as the show fades into the opening credits.
After the credits roll the announcers welcome everyone to the first episode from NWA Union Pro. The action swings to the ramp as the massive golden dragon head bellows smoke from it's nostrils before it's eyes flash green as it's jaw opens up letting out a godzilla like roar as it reveals the entrance ramp.
CIMA and Ishimori would burst out from the mouth of the dragon, getting the crowd pumped in this opening contest of the inagural edition of Union Pro. Zuijin and Ishimori start things off and the crowd have to appreciate the high octane back and forth in the early going of the match with neither man getting the advantage, resulting in both men tagging out to let their partners try. CIMA would end up getting frustrated grabbing Talon by the strings of his mask whipping him down to the mat roughly! This gave PRIDE the advantage as they made a few quick tags keeping Talon in the wrong side of the ring. Talon would evade a swing from CIMA getting a tag to Zuijin and the birds of prey would take flight! It looked like Tengu was going to pick up the victory but Taiji would blast Talon with a handspring enziguri allowing for CIMA to plant Zuijin with the Schwein to score the pinfall in the opening contest.
Shibata tried to rush into the fight with Takeshi, but would get caught and beat down with clubbing blows as the powerful Morishima picked apart the MMA Warrior. Takeshi looked in firm control after dropping Katsuyori would a vicious short arm clothesline, showing no respect by simply putting a foot on Shibata for a two count! Shibata would try for a rolling arm bar but Morishima would hang on hitting a one handed powerbomb for another two count. Shibata is a tough guy and it's going to take a lot to put him away. Shibata would use a spinning back kick to create some distance but Morishima would grab a fist full of Shibata's hair, holding him in place for Takeshi to rain down brutal head butts bringing Katsuyori down to a knee as Takeshi presses his advantage. Shibata would fight back again using clutch knees to stun the massive Takeshi before unloading with punches, chops, kicks and anything else he can muster to take the fight to Morishima! The crowd would get behind him but were silenced when Morishima folded him with a backdrop driver but it wasn't enough to put Shibata away! Shibata would try again to take control but ended up eating another backdrop driver this one he wouldn't kick out of!
There is a pre-taped recording of AJ Styles standing in his Georgia home, wearing a sleeveless black shirt and holding his World Heavyweight championship over his left shoulder and the NWA Pacific Heavyweight championship over his right.
AJ Styles:
Union Pro Wrestling, you are looking at the current, reigning, and defending Triple Crown champion of the NWA, "The Phenomenal One" AJ Styles, "THEE Greatest of All Time", and I have a message for you, so read the bottom of the screen carefully! When I won the World Heavyweight championship, former top dogs in Japan, Kenshiki, tried to pull a fast one a steal my championship from me. They tried to put it up for grabs between two men I beat fair and square in the tournament to crown the champion of the Pacific, Tanahashi and Nakamura. Tanahashi and Nakamura, their strong competitors, but they are inferior in every way to me, plain and simple, and that's why I'm holding this belt and all they've got to hold onto is envy and deceit. Knowing that I was going to be screwed out of my gold, the fans of Japan were wise enough, smart enough, and revolted, rebelling against the treacherous powers that had been in NWA Kenshiki, the thankfully now defunct former representative of the NWA Japan. Now, you can all be proud, for you have true leadership! Until I decide to dissolve this title, like I did the Impact Heavyweight championship, and make the NWA Pacific championship and my World Heavyweight title one in the same, it will be me who is known as the champion of Japan! But you see, I've been offered a generous sum of money by a very savvy individual to not do that, and in turn, I lay down the challenge. Nakamura, Tanahashi, ANYBODY... you want the NWA Pacific Heavyweight championship? You will have to go through the "ACE of the National Wrestling Alliance", the "Far East Conqueror", and Triple Crown champion of the NWA, AJ STYLES!
AJ puts up his gloved hands, which feature the "G.O.A.T." stylized logo he's become known for, and the scene fades.
This match starts with both massive men standing in the middle of the ring trading blows to find out who's going to break first. It's punches against forearm shots as "KingKong" gets the advantage pummeling Sekimoto until he's forced against the ropes. Daisuke would cover up getting the ref to step in but Makabe would lean over the ref biting the forehead of Sekimoto! Daisuke would fight back lighting up Makabe with a series of chops that had Togi reeling back. It's no secret that "KingKong" has aligned himself with "The Crazy Monkey" Jun Kasai and it shows as he's a bit more aggressive with breaking the rules, using an eye gouge to stop the momentum of Sekimoto cold. Makabe would go for a DVD but Sekimoto would wiggle free trying for a german suplex but Togi would fight free like a man possessed keeping himself from being dropped on his head. Makabe wasn't safe however as he turned and was leveled with a lariat from Daisuke which got him a long two count, but "KingKong" was able to get his shoulder up. Sekimoto would transition and apply the sharpshooter to Makabe in the middle of the ring trying to force him to submit but Togi would claw his way to the ropes getting the break. Daisuke could smell blood in the water stalking Makabe for a spear but Togi would side step and grab Sekimoto driving him shoulder first into the turnbuckle sending shooting pain through his shoulder! Makabe would drive Sekimoto to the mat with a dragon suplex that nearly got him the win but Sekimoto was able to push his shoulders off the mat, dazed but still fighting hard. Sekimoto would attempt the spear again this time getting some of it but he's still favoring the arm to much to get the full effect, so it netted him a two count. This brought both men staggered to their feet for one last attempt at victory and Makabe got the best of the exchange nearly beheading Sekimoto with a lariat to finally end this battle.
A short vignette plays of a black sky, rain pours from the clouds as thunder claps and lightning flashes.
Kota was the first one in the ring and as soon as Masahiro Chono came out with Kojima everyone started scrambling to Chono trying to usher him out. Chono would simply pull a card out of his jacket that stopped the swell of staff showing he was in fact allowed to be there. The announcers explained that NWA President Dustin Smith is the one who swooped in to save the NWA here in Japan. When Kenshiki imploded he talked to two men, the man who is in charge of Union Pro, Keiji Mutoh. The other man he spoke to was Masahiro Chono, allegedly the talks went south but somehow Chono is here tonight with Satoshi Kojima! Kojima was really vicious in this match taking the fight to Kota who was a bit caught off guard by the mean streak. Kojima would wear down Ibushi with forearm after forearm to the head before following up with a bull hammer style elbow that knocked Kota out of the ring through the ropes! Chono would stand off to the side watching his client pick apart his opponent dropping him throat first over the guard rail before whipping him into the railing hard! Kojima would fire off rapid fire chops leaving Ibushi between the blistering chops and the cold unforgiving steel of the railing! Kojima would whip Kota again towards the opposite guard railing following him in, but Ibushi would leap onto the rail and back flip over Kojima! Kota would unleash a fury of strikes making Kojima pay for his wicked ways! The crowd was getting behind Ibushi who would skitter up the ring post coming down on Kojima with a flip senton to the outside that sent them crashing through the guard rail into the crowd! Ibushi would try to half nelson suplex Kojima in the crowd but Satoshi would fight free coming back with a discus elbow before bringing the fight back in the ring. Satoshi knew that the longer the match was outside the more Kota would start making a serious come back. Kojima would flip his elbow pad inside out signaling for his lariat but Ibushi would counter with a series of kicks before setting up and planting Kojima with a Golden Star Bomb that almost won him the match! Chono would step closer to the ring, taking off his sun glasses as he made eye contact with a dazed Kojima who would come out of nowhere with an ace cutter that brought both men to square one. Kota and Kojima would have to pull themselves up with the ropes still swinging at each other getting to their feet. Kota would ring the bell of Kojima with a leaping enziguri before expending a ton of energy to drill Kojima into the mat with a huge powerbomb! Ibushi knew it wasn't going to be it so he drug himself to the top rope coming off the top with the Golden Star Press that finally put the last nail in the coffin in this one!
Both men were completely spent after this but Chono wasn't having it as he held his hand out closing his fist as Hiroyoshi Tenzan skulks into the ring! Tenzan would go to work on Ibushi battering him with heavy fists before slapping on the anaconda vice making Kota cry out in pain as he taps but Tenzan doesn't listen as he continues to punish Ibushi! Staff rush in to help and eventually Tenzan releases his grip and leaves with his partner and leader.
This deathmatch featured barbed wire wrapped baseball bats and beds of broken glass! It was a scene out of star wars as Kasai and Kobayashi swung the bats like lightsabers sometimes getting snagged against each other with the sharp barbs of the wire! Abdullah would eventually get the upper hand due to his sheer strength as he started to bludgeon Kasai with the bat using the barbs to pierce his skin drawing blood from his back! Kobayashi looked to be enjoying the sickening display carving Jun like a turkey until the Crazy Monkey mustered all of his strength to pick up and dump Kobayashi into the bed of broken glass! The crowd gasped as it was Kasai's turn to try and inflict some punishment grabbing a chair wrapped in barbed wire from ringside, giving Kobayashi the finger before diving onto him with a semi elbow drop move with the chair sandwiching him further into the glass. Kasai looked a bit worried when Abdullah started laughing sadistically, it wasn't hurting the monster it was making him happy! Kasai would try to finish Kobayashi off with a few chair shots but the monster would eventually just take the chair from him smashing himself bloody with it! Kasai would back up into the corner where Kobayashi would wrap the chair around his head with a hellish chair shot. Kasai was limp at this point and Abdullah would finish the match off with a Koba driver into the bed of broken glass to end this vile display.
These guys downright hate each other, they've battled many times in the past and tonight they go to war once again. The prize is so rich this time, the gaijin AJ Styles has control of not only the NWA World Heavyweight championship, but also the NWA Pacific championship and we're looking for a contender to try to lighten the load of the american blow hard. The match had big fight feel as both men tried to feel each other out knowing the other so well, hoping the other would make some sort of mistake. Nakamura thought he had an opening going for an early Boma Ye but Tanahashi would counter with a roll up for a one count. Tanahashi and Nakamura would face off and Hiroshi would wag his finger at Shinsuke sending Nakamura into an absolute fit. The match would continue that way with both men doing their best to play mental chess with the other. Hiroshi would try for an enziguri but Shinsuke would duck the shot and counter with a roll up of his own getting a two count! The two men would face off again and this time Nakamura would wave his finger at Tanahashi. Hiroshi would smirk before going back into the fray dumping Nakamura with a high angle bridging german suplex that almost got him the win but it's gonna take more to defeat Shinsuke Nakamura! Shinsuke would cut off Hiroshi going for a double underhook piledriver but Tanahashi would counter twisting up Nakamura with a stright jacket suplex for another near fall, feeling the frustration mount. Tanahashi waits on Nakamura bringing him down with a sling blade before climbing to the top for the High Fly Flow frog splash but Nakamura would roll out of the way and immediatly pounce on Tanahashi with the shining triangle and the crowd would plead that Hiroshi not tap! It was emotional as Tanahashi pulled himself as well as Nakamura to the ropes to break the hold that has finished so many in the past. Tanahashi looked worn out after escaping the hold and Nakamura would continue to press the advantage going for a cross armbreaker but Tanahashi would hang on grabbing the ropes doing everything possible not to lose this match. Tanahashi looked determined and fought back hitting a german suplex, half nelson suplex and finally a dragon suplex before dragging himself to the top for another attempt at the High Fly Flow! This time he was able to connect literally just laying on Shinsake with no energy left but Nakamura was gassed as well allowing Tanahashi to pick up the hard fought victory.
Streamers would fly into the ring celebrating the crowning of the challenger. But it soon became a situation when once again Masahiro Chono made an appearence flanked by Tenzan and Kojima who helped Nakamura putting their arms around him holding him up as Chono would say something to the man who just left everything in the ring. Nakamura looked exhausted but eventually nodded to Chono, Masahiro would take off his glasses looking back at the camera giving the first smirk we've seen from him tonight. We head back to the ring where Tanahashi is celebrating the victory as the show fades out.
