Aaron Sky, Raul Lamotta & The Mexicutioner defeat Ryan Howe & The Wild Boyz @ 9:13 when Sky pinned Bud Dwight after a springboard splash from the top rope. Thanks to the no interference initiative for the show by Director of Authority Jim Cornette, no sign of Shelly Martinez at ringside. This allowed for a much more focused EFD Eddie Diamond, but it would not clear the road to victory for the team. Rockstar Ryan Howe seemed close, hitting the Chart Topper, a blockbuster DDT from the top rope, onto Lamotta, but he took a spear from Mexicutioner as he got up. From there, Lamotta made the tag to Sky, but Howe made the hot tag to The Party Starter. With Dwight in control, Mexicutioner came back in, and was joined by EFD. Trying to sort out the action getting EFD and Mexicutioner out, Dwight went for a dropkick on Sky, but he held onto the ropes sending him crashing to the mat instead. Sky quickly went outside and hit his finisher. EFD raced back in to break up the 3 count but was too late. Sky gets the pinfall in the opener, though the gloating afterward has to just give added incentive to Howe & The Wild Boyz for the next time their paths cross.

Rump Thump defeats Dapper Dan and The Body Guy @ 4:38 via pinfall on Dan after the Rumper Stumper. A quick 3 way sees Rump Stump overcome the odds of an initial double team thanks to communication issues between Body Guy & Dapper Dan. Body Guy initially backs down from the larger opponent, but as he turns around, wastes no time hitting him in the back. Dapper Dan turns his focus to The Body Guy with a scene that eventually sees him send Body Guy out to the floor. Rump Thump however had recovered sufficiently to catch Dan by surprise when he turned around, send him into the ropes, and hit his butt butt finisher and pick up the 3 count for the win. "Celebration" by Kool & The Gang starts up, Rump Thump's theme music, as he does just that. He leads the Davis Arena to clap along until the arrival of Timmy Danger cuts off everything. Danger has a mic in hand and says that his search is over. And surprise, surprise, he didn't have to look very far as he presents his new recruit ...

Heidi Lovelace defeats Taryn Terrell @ 6:20 after a frog splash from the top rope. This match came about from Lovelace winning a battle royal on TV, and the match was fought very much in the spirit of competition. It starts out with a handshake and goes from there. Terrell proved a worthy opponent as she nearly took the victory with a diving crossbody, only for Heidi to kick out. Heidi would eventually reverse coming off the ropes into the Heidicanrana to put Terrell down, before climbing up top and hitting the frogsplash to take the win. Afterward, Terrell continued the show of sportsmanship, raising Heidi's arm in victory and hugging her before leaving. As Heidi continued celebrating, the commentators felt this had to put her at the top of the contenders list to the Ohio Valley Women's Title, although who will hold it after the next TV is anybody's guest as new champion & NWA World champion AJ Lee defends against former champion Jessie Belle. If any woman can do it, they would not only take the OVW Women's Title, but clearly step up to the top of the list of contenders for the NWA World Title, having pinned the champion since AJ holds both belts right now.

Dylan Bostic defeats Flash @ 6:45 via pinfall after a legdrop from the top rope. More of a brawl than a wrestling match as Flash Flanagan looked to avenge his friend Trailer Park Trash, but maybe let that end up being his downfall. Rather than focus on putting Bostic away, Flash grabbed the kendo stick and backed Bostic up, eventually having him on his knees begging. The referee pleaded with Flash, eventually going so far as to grab the kendo stick as Flash was about to use it. As the ref tried to get it away, Bostic quickly took advantage from his position by driving up a forearm between Flash's legs for a low blow. The referee naturally missed it and Bostic then went up top to hit what seems to have been adopted as his own finisher, The Trailer Jack, clearly being used as a message to the former Director of Authority TPT. Bostic takes the match but according to Dean, he is treading in dangerous waters with 2 OVW legends like TPT & Flash and if he isn't careful, it will bite him.
TV Title match
Match #5VS |
Michael Hayes defeats TV champion Eric Locker to win the title @ 12:06 via tap out to The Liberty Lock submission hold, a reverse seated cobra clutch. Both wrestlers were out to win as Locker did not want to disappoint in his first big match under The Blacklist banner, in addition to the stakes of the championship. Locker had control at one point, going for The Hurt Locker, an electric chair dropped into a German suplex. But as he dropped Hayes, the 1 legged Iraqi war vet instead reversed it into a victory roll and nearly took the 3 and the win right there. Locker would eventually get into position to try again, but Hayes grabbed the top rope as Locker tried lifting him up. This led to Locker fighting and eventually falling back with the prosthetic leg in his grip. As Hayes leaned against the ropes, Locker got up and took a swing with the leg, only for Hayes to duck and manage to hook an arm across Locker's chest and drive him to the mat with a Rock Bottom. Hayes quickly adjusts and moves into The Liberty Lock. Locker fought to avoid the tap as he reached for the ropes, but couldn't reach. The referee checked on Locker, who eventually was left with no choice but to tap out. Hayes wins the TV Title. He lays on the mat as the referee hands him the championship belt, clutching it. The referee gets the prosthetic leg and gives it to him so he can get back up and celebrate. Dean stands and applauds the win saying Hayes earned that. Locker meanwhile complained about something to the referee on the floor. All that could be made out was the referee saying he didn't see anything as an agitated Locker grabs his own head in frustration. A bad start to the night for The Blacklist.
Paredyse calls out Chris Silvio
Shifting gears, Paredyse heads out in street clothes and enters the ring. He announced on the most recent TV that he is here tonight not to wrestle, but rather call out The Psychedelic Superstar Chris Silvio and put an end to their feud. It has escalated from Paredyse putting Silvio on the shelf for 2 months with a concussion by jumping off a ladder to drive him through a table back in October at The Rage in The Cage iPPV. Silvio would attempt to run down Paredyse's name by bringing out Elvis Pridemoore to expose what Silvio felt was a scandalous private life, followed by a match last month at the Saturday Night Special that saw Silvio fake a concussion follow up just to steal the win. Dean says he can remember when they were a tag team back in the late 2000s and it's unfortunate how far things have fallen.Paredyse: Thank you. As you can see, I'm not out here right now for a match. This is a lot more important. For newer viewers that may not know the history, at 1 time myself and Chris Silvio, we were a tag team here in Ohio Valley about 5 years ago called Totally Awesome. I was The Kamikaze Kid, he was Sucio, and together we became the Tag Team champions. We got to the top of OVW and eventually it came time to focus on our singles career. We had our run ins, matches, but nothing like what has come of late. Up until last month, I could still call Chris Silvio a friend. Not now. Something has changed in him and I don't know what it is. The Chris Silvio I knew wouldn't pretend his life was in danger just to win a match. He spent 2 months out with post concussion syndromes and then pretend he couldn't continue, just so that he could sucker punch me for a victory. Fine Chris. You got it. You tried to bring out Elvis Pridemoore and tell lies about me. Alright. Cool. As best I can tell, you're on top right now and I'm willing to step aside and just give it to you. You can leave the better man, you beat me last month at the Saturday Night Special, that's that. What I want right now is for Chris Silvio to come out here and end this. End this all before something happens that we will both regret and there's no turning back from it. I know you're back there Chris. Get out here. Please.
Chris Silvio: You think it's that easy huh? You think that's all that this is about?!? Here's the problem Paredyse. You did something you should have regretted back in October. Because of you jumping off a ladder onto me as my prone body lay sprawled across a table, because of you I got a concussion and spent 2 months of my life in misery. I almost never wrestled again! But what did you care? You went around, wrestling guys in dresses like the freak that you are, meanwhile I sat at home doing nothing. What I did to you last month at the Saturday Night Special was just the start of it. You know what? Yeah, I beat you Paredyse. I beat you and I intend to beat you again. I intend to not stop beating you until it's you sitting at home Paredyse. Until you're out with a concussion. Except I plan on not only making it a couple months, I plan on ending your career forever! I want to ruin you. I want to expose you for what you are. I want to ... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Paredyse: Look, I know. I know how upsetting it must have been. That wasn't my goal though and you returned. You're back. Last month you pretended to be injured, but what happens if this keeps going and it's not a joke. What happens when it's real?
Mary Jane: Who do you think you are? Do you know who this man is?
Chris Silvio: Mary Jane, calm down. Just relax.
Mary Jane: I won't relax, he thinks he can just-
Chris Silvio: I SAID TO SHUT IT! Now as I was going to say-
Paredyse: Was that necessary?
Chris Silvio: I'm sorry, this? Me and her? It's none of your business. She does what I say, when I say it. That's her job. That's what she does. If you want to be some sort of knight in white armor to her, think again. Save her from what you think is a nightmare or something. I have a reality check. I'm your nightmare and I intend to make sure that you never wake up from it.
Paredyse: Dude, come on. Can we just stop this?
Chris Silvio: NO! No. It ... it ...
Chris Silvio: What? What do you want?
Hannah Blossom: Chris, please. Look at what you're doing.
Chris Silvio: Look at what I'm doing? Yeah, exactly. Look at what I'm doing. When I step through that curtain, I'm The Psychedelic Superstar and nobody should forget it!
Paredyse: Chris, this is your wife talking. Listen to her.
A not so well kept secret is out in the open here in storyline now as Silvio turns away and enters thought as he leans on the ropes looking at the fans and then down at the mat. Maybe he's realized this isn't worth it. And with that, Mary Jane suddenly gets in the face of Hannah Blossom. Without a mic she tells her that she needs to stay home and leave the business side to her. Hannah doesn't know what to make of this until Mary Jane takes it a step further and slaps her! Hannah falls back as Silvio angrily walks over and steps in front of Mary Jane, stepping up to her and in her face. He looks as though he's on the verge of getting violent here as he tells his valet that's his wife, don't touch her. As Hannah gets up, Paredyse steps in front of her and behind Silvio and tries to turn him away from his valet to keep everything calm out here. Silvio is pissed right now though, and finally has enough of Paredyse as he turns and quickly launches into the Psychedelic Superpunch. Only one problem. Paredyse ducks out of instinct and with Hannah right behind him, Silvio catches his own wife with his finisher to send her down. Panic immediately ensues as Silvio gets down on a knee and yells for help, holding his wife. Paredyse likewise summons to the back. Mary Jane just stands back as Silvio is almost crying at his own actions. Helps comes for Blossom, as does the Director of Authority Jim Cornette. He steps in and assesses the situation, telling Paredyse it would be better if he just leave right now. Paredyse was apologetic, while Cornette reiterated just to leave, it's not his fault. The commentators make mention that Paredyse had tried to end this before something happened they would both regret, and certainly that appears to be exactly what has happened, especially for Silvio as he launches into an action that he will have to live with the rest of his life.

Chase Owens defeats Metal Master @ 13:29 via pinfall after The Roaring Elbow, a discus elbow smash. The rematch from TV proved to be even more exciting than the initial encounter and built at exactly the pace needed to get the fans out of the previous angle, starting slower and building. Lots of near falls and a quick pace as it picked up. As the match went on, Owens went for a springboard moonsault, but Metal Master rolled out of the way. Getting up, Owens charged into a powerslam with the former TV champion getting a 2 count. Back up, Metal Master brought Owens to the corner for an Irish whip, but Owens reversed it. As Metal Master went to the corner, Owens charged only for his opponent to jump over to the apron. Owens went in and dazed himself as Metal Master went up top. He leaped off as Owens ducked, but Metal Master was ready and rolled through to his feet. Back up, Owens charged with a clothesline but Metal Master ducked. Owens turned into his opponent charging back and side stepped to send him into the corner. Metal Master however stepped up to the middle rope and up to the top, leaping back with a moonsault, but Owens stepped back leading to him having to land on his feet. As Metal Master caught his balance, Owens spun and nailed him with his finisher. Metal Master went down in a heap as Owens turned him over and covered and took the win. It has only been a month since his arrival as part of The East, but The Crown Jewel is looking good so far with this exclamation mark of a second victory on the former TV champion. A great 25th birthday present for Owens.

Elijah Burke defeats Jay Bradley @ 8:31 via pinfall after The Elijah Experience, a sitout facebuster. Handpicked by CM Punk for their Chicago connection, Lonesome Jay Bradley gives The Pope almost more than he can handle here. The commentators put over both wrestlers with Bradley showing a more serious and determined side in recent months, while Burke continues to show focus since his loss to Punk at Retribution and alignment with former NWA World champion Christopher Daniels, not here tonight. Towards the end, Bradley would connect with his lethal Boomstick lariat clothesline, but showing the determination, Burke kicked out of it. Bradley was in disbelief as he questioned the referee's count. Burke would make the comeback from there and eventually put Bradley away after his finisher. The commentators make mention of Burke having sought a rematch with Punk tonight, only to have his UFC commitments be used as an out to seemingly avoid the match. Titus takes offense to that as it assumes Punk is a coward. Dean says that if the shoe fits, he needs to wear it. Sooner or later, their paths will cross again.
Tag Team Title match
Match #8VS |
Cliff Compton & Colt Cabana defeat Tag Team champions Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion to win the title @ 11:27 when Compton pinned Stallion after the Cliffhanger, a springboard Tornado DDT. Despite having not teamed up in a while, Mr. 1859 and Boom Boom deliver sound teamwork that rivals the champions here. Jonze would get Cabana in the Mandible Claw, looking to finish the match. Cabana was almost out, but managed a comeback with the fans cheering him on. As he got up and Jonze moved to a side headlock, he brought him back into the ropes to send him across, but Stallion made a blind tag. As Jonze went into the ropes, Compton grabbed the top rope and pulled it down to send the now illegal man out to the floor. Cabana turned into Stallion charging with a clothesline, but ducked that and Stallion spun himself into an atomic drop. Stallion sold the knee to the derriere like he had just been violated as he turned into a kick to the midsection. Cabana locked in a double underhook, gutwrenching him up onto his shoulders in a backbreaker and dropping with a rack drop, the Colt 45. He then tagged Compton, who came in and waited for Stallion to get up, hitting his finisher and putting Stallion down for the 3 as Cabana on the floor held Jonze by the leg to keep him from getting back in and breaking up the count. New Tag Team champions are crowned as Compton & Cabana celebrate the win, meaning that Cabana will be sticking around a while. The Blacklist meanwhile fall to 0-2 on the night, a bad sign for Rudy Switchblade and his Heavyweight Title match still to come.
NWA East Title match
Match #9VS |
NWA East champion Jeremiah Plunkett defeats Rob Conway @ 7:42 via pinfall, thanks to outside interference after a ref bump. Conway's win streak since Retribution comes to an end, though it is hard to hold it against him. He had control of Plunkett when from the back emerged an unknown wrestler pushing a wheelchair with somebody with their face wrapped in bandage. Nobody was sure what to make of this, although on commentary, Dean identified the unknown wrestler as Jax Dane, a 1 time tag team partner of Conway outside of Ohio Valley in recent years. Conway wants to know what's going on and even asks the referee, but he has no clue. Plunkett then shoves Conway from behind, knocking him into the ref and sending him through the ropes and to the floor. Plunkett then grabs Conway and sets him up for the gordbuster, but the Ironman quickly counters that into the Ego Trip, a whiplash. Conway covers Plunkett, but there is no ref of course. While he gets a visual 3, it means nothing. Conway gets up and goes to look at the referee, at which point Dane slides in. Conway turns and gets takes out with a spear. He then picks him up and hits him with a spinebuster before rolling Plunkett on top. He then slides back out and grabs the referee, rolling him in under the bottom rope. The groggy ref starts a count, reaching 3. Dean is pissed off on commentary, saying that Jim Cornette said nobody from that locker room could interfere tonight or they're fired. Titus cockily quipped that you can't fire Dane as he is not on the Ohio Valley roster, he is on the East roster! Gilbert says that as much as he hates to say it, Titus is right, Dane is not an OVW employee, and Plunkett may have pulled 1 over with the surprise appearance of the Vanilla Godzilla. Perhaps the bigger question is the identity of this mysterious man in the wheelchair that looks the identical twin of the invisible man with a completely bandaged up face to conceal his identity, or even why is he here and what is his association to the East?
Speaking of TV, perhaps an even bigger announcement. Currently TV tapings are held every Wednesday night at the Davis Arena for airing on the weekends on ION TV. Beginning April 15, that all changes. Starting that Wednesday, Ohio Valley Wrestling will be moving to same night airings. We will tape in the Davis Arena with the usual schedule of doors at 7pm, dark matches and websclusives kick off at 7:30, and the show tapes at 8pm. Then later that same night on ION affiliate WBNA-TV at 10pm, you can catch the action after a couple hours of Cold Case and before Word Alive at 11pm. Sounds like a pretty good night of viewing, and then you can still catch all the action Saturdays at noon on RetroTV, Saturday nights at 10pm on WBNA-TV, and Sunday nights at 7pm on RetroTV, and until Saturday April 12th, you can still catch us Saturday mornings at 9 on WBNA-TV. That's not even the biggest part though because as a special 1 time airing on April 15, we will be going live from the Davis Arena at 8pm for 2 hours. You can bet that will be a gigantic show with the fallout from Best In The World, and a big name from the past is in negotiations to make an appearance on that broadcast. Can't reveal it yet, but stay tuned in the weeks to come for that.
No Holds Barred match for the Heavyweight Title
Match #10VS |
The build here goes back to a masked man attacking several Ohio Valley wrestlers last fall, including then champion Jamin Olivencia, eventually revealed to be turncoat Rudy Switchblade. The new leader of The Blacklist was seeking the championship after feeling shunned by the promotion and set out on a course of action to do just that. Finally on February 7 at the last Saturday Night Special, Switchblade had his chance and emerged the winner in a 3 way with Olivencia and Cliff Compton, becoming the new champion with assistance from new Blacklist member Eric Locker. A rematch the next TV saw the referee taken out and Switchblade use the title belt as a weapon. This led to the announcement that this match tonight would be competed under No Holds Barred rules with 2 referees. Add to that, as with all earlier matches, should anybody interfere on the roster, they will be fired on the spot. Cue Jeremiah Plunkett and using somebody not on the roster, Jim Cornette announced that if there is any outside interference, there will be consequences.
The 2 referees for the match are senior referee Chris Sharpe and secondary referee Josh Ashcraft. Dean reminds viewers of the controversy with Ashcraft last year and calls into question if he is a good choice in a match of this importance. Gilbert feels that to be fair, there has been no controversy with Ashcraft for months now after a suspension, and he is also a second referee serving on the floor and as a backup. Titus calls into question Sharpe on the other hand, feeling that he's clearly in the pocket of Jim Cornette if he has the job of senior referee and will be doing his bidding out here. Gilbert points out that Sharpe has had the job long before Cornette was in charge, so that's the end of that. Hopefully tonight sees a fair and decisive finish to this match without any controversy.
After the bell rings and before the action starts, Switchblade exits the ring and goes over to a fan holding a sign. He takes the sign and holds it up, reading "Cena fears Switchblade". The fans boo this although the Blacklist leader clearly has at least 1 fan here tonight, following his words since Starrcade about being better than Cena. Switchblade then turns with the sign in hand and gets greeted by a baseball slide kick from Olivencia under the bottom rope. The challenger then grabs the sign and holds it up, ripping it in half to cheers from the audience. Second referee Ashcraft grabs the ripped up sign and warns Olivencia on using a foreign object. Dean calls that a crock, especially in a No Holds Barred match, but Titus defends it as the sign could be used to inflict a paper cut. Olivencia goes back to Switchblade but gets hit in the midsection. Switchblade grabs him and throws him into the barrier. Switchblade then steps back and charges with a boot to the face. He then heads into the ring and tells referee Sharpe to start counting. Clearly he wants this done fast. Not fast enough as Switchblade calls into question the speed of the count, Olivencia rolling back in by 7. Ashcraft argues it was too slow as well, but Switchblade goes to work on the challenger.
The champion kicks away before bringing Olivencia to his feet and laying in forearms shots to back him into the corner. Switchblade goes for the Irish whip, but Olivencia reverses. With Switchblade in the corner, Olivencia charges in like a mad man with a shoulder to the gut. Switchblade is feeling that as he steps out before getting turned into a belly to back suplex. The champion gets up by the ropes as Olivencia charges in with a clothesline that sends him over the top rope and out to the floor. Sharpe starts a count, but Ashcraft waves it off and instead goes to check on him. Sharpe continues anyway, but Olivencia knows enough that he can't win the title on a countout and heads out. To the apron at least. As Switchblade gets up, he turns into Olivencia charging off with a diving knee to the head that leaves both men down. Olivencia gets up and brings the champ to the ring, rolling him back in. Back up, Olivencia chops Switchblade into the corner. Fans "WOOO" along before the champion gets in a thumb to the eye. Olivencia steps back to check the eye before getting blasted by a clothesline. Switchblade drops down and starts choking. All legal here. He then brings Olivencia up and hits him with a belly to back suplex into a the first cover of the match, a 2 count.
Switchblade heads outside and grabs a steel chair, folding it up and sliding it into the ring. He gets in and sets it up mid ring. Olivencia gets up, gets sent into the ropes and then taken down with a drop down toe hold that sends him face first into the steel. Switchblade smiles, liking where this is going. He folds up the chair and as Olivencia gets to his hands and knees, smashes it across the back. Sharpe warns him on this, something Dean agrees with as it's No Holds Barred and last he checked a chair shot is not a hold. Olivencia gets to his knees and looks up at Switchblade who takes it to a new level, first spitting on Olivencia. Too far as he then brings the chair back and swings it down, but Olivencia gets his hands up and blocks it. He gets to his feet, both holding the chair. A fight ensues, but Olivencia instead just lets it go and sends Switchblade falling back from his own momentum. As he stumbles, Olivencia dropkicks the chair directly into the champ's face. Olivencia grabs the chair and now the tide turns. The fans cheer, but from the outside comes Ashcraft, grabbing the chair away when Olivencia brings it back. Ashcraft makes the same argument as Dean did on commentary, the obvious question being why didn't he take it away from Switchblade? Sharpe argues Ashcraft getting in the ring as Switchblade swings at Olivencia, who ducks and turns it into backslide! No count as the 2 refs argue, before Sharpe slides down and registers a 1 before the champion easily kicks out.
Turning with both on their knees. Switchblade slaps the challenger! Olivencia responds with a slap of his own! Switchblade goes again! Olivencia again! Switchblade goes for a third, but Olivencia blocks it and instead pushes the champ down, moving on top into a ground and pound. Switchblade turns to his back to avoid it, but Olivencia locks in a rear naked choke! Some MMA style moves coming out here as Switchblade starts going out. He gets to his knees reaching for the ropes, instead rolling through them to send both wrestlers out to the floor. As Olivencia gets up, Switchblade out of nowhere manages to catch him with the RudyKO! The jumping cutter connects on the floor. Olivencia is down as is the champion. Switchblade goes on top as Ashcraft goes down and counts ...

Ashchraft calls for the bell and the title. Sharpe however is quick to wave this all off and another argument ensues. Dean clarifies that this is not falls count anywhere, it's no holds barred. Switchblade gets up and tries lifting the dead weight of the challenger. He finally gets him up and under the bottom rope. Switchblade climbs in and covers again, but only manages a 2 before Olivencia gets a shoulder up. Switchblade grabs Olivencia by the legs and pulls him closer to the center of the ring, turning him over into the Boston Crab. Sharpe checks on Jamin. Nothing yet. Olivencia starts reaching for the ropes. He starts crawling, closing in. He reaches out, narrowly missing. Ashcraft again calls for the bell though. Titus backs it up as Olivencia tapping out, but Sharpe again waves it off as Dean clarifies Olivencia was just trying to grab the rope. Switchblade turns Sharpe and shoves him. Ashcraft yells that he's giving the champ a raw deal from the floor. Olivencia comes from behind and runs the champ into the ropes, go behind into a cover, but only a 2 count. As they get up, Olivencia tries for the Standing O, but Switchblade shoves him back. He charges with a clothesline, but Olivencia ducks. As he turns, Olivencia leaps up with the bodyscissors into the DDT, Standing O! The challengers covers ...

Sharpe gets pulled out of the ring by Ashcraft! What the hell is this about? Olivencia could very well have been on his way to a 3 count just there for all we know. Ashcraft slides in and says he's taking over as lead referee in this match! Olivencia is up behind him. As the 2 refs argue, Ashcraft backs up into something, turning to realize it's the challenger. He starts to beg, but Olivencia is getting psyched up here. Dean shouts to do it! Hit the S.o.B.! Switchblade schoolboys Olivencia from behind as Ashcraft quickly slides into position ...

No! Despite the ridiculously fast count, this time it's Sharpe pulling Ashcraft outside. Sharpe reiterates he is the senior referee. As they argue, Switchblade sizes up Olivencia, readying for the RudyKO. Olivencia is up and turns but as Switchblade goes for the move, he side steps and instead leaps into a clothesline. Switchblade gets up and takes a second leaping clothesline. He gets up again and Olivencia delivers a vertical suplex. He heads up to the top rope, leaping off into a 180 degree turning splash that connects. Olivencia covers as Sharpe dives back in ...

Switchblade manages to kick out. Olivencia gets up and yells down to Ashcraft to get the hell out of here. He just grabs his shirt and cockily smiles, saying he can't, he's the referee. He is a legal participant in this match and he has every right to be in the ring along with Sharpe and the 2 competitors. Sharpe echoes the sentiment for him to leave, but in the process Switchblade gets to his feet. Olivencia goes back to Switchblade, but ends up getting scooped up by Switchblade into a fireman's carry. ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT! Switchblade hits the finishing move of John Cena out of nowhere. Ashcraft is encouraging to cover him. Switchblade gets an arm across as Sharpe drops down ...

Olivencia manages to get a shoulder up in time. Both men crawl to get up. Ashcraft meanwhile gets on the apron and goes to the corner, removing the padding from the turnbuckle. Dean says this may be the most crooked refereeing performance in history, wondering how much the pay off was tonight? Titus says that Ashcraft has done nothing wrong so far, it's all opinion and the turnbuckle padding is just loose, he's fixing it. As they get up, Olivencia has control. He lands several rights before Ashcraft alerts Switchblade, who quickly drives the champion back first into the corner. Switchblade then turns Olivencia and grabs him by the back of the head to run him in face first, but he gets his hands up to block it. Olivencia instead drives an elbow back. He then grabs Switchblade by the back of the head and takes him back to the opposite corner before taking him over and ramming him face first into the exposed steel with such force that Switchblade flips back. Olivencia covers ...

Switchblade's foot gets on the bottom rope as Ashcraft quickly points out next to it, with Dean quickly clarifying for viewers that Ashcraft put it there. Finally Jim Cornette has seen enough as he heads out and starts to verbally reprimand Ashcraft as Olivencia for sure had the match won right there if not for Ashcraft. The fans cheer as Cornette lets him have it. Switchblade slides outside and gets in between them. Groggy into next week, he just says Ashcraft is the better referee. Switchblade turns back to the ring as Olivencia runs and dives out onto him, taking them into the commentator's desk in the process. Olivencia clears the desk all together and pseudo crowd surfs over Gilbert Corsey into the wall behind them. Ashcraft yells for Sharpe to start counting. Cornette checks on everything, Sharpe still not counting. Ashcraft says it again and Cornette tells him to start counting as well, rules are rules. At the count of 5, Switchblade gets in under the bottom rope. Olivencia is a long way away here. He starts crawling over but by 8 is still at the desk. 9, and suddenly Olivencia bolts and dives under the bottom rope, barely beating the count of 10. Switchblade can't believe it. He picks up Olivencia and places him on the top rope. Superplex coming up as Switchblade climbs to the middle rope. He locks it in, but Olivencia blocks. Switchblade then steps up to the top rope, bringing Olivencia up. He grabs the tights, but before he can hit it, Olivencia jumps up into the bodyscissors, turning them and dropping Switchblade with the DDT. Standing O from the top rope! Olivencia covers ...

... 3!
A most chaotic match finally ends at 18:56. Jamin Olivencia defeats Rudy Switchblade, leader of The Blacklist sending them 0-3 on the night, and more importantly than that, regains the OVW Heavyweight Title! The Blacklist pulled out all stops here with a paid off referee after Jim Cornette's no interference policy, and they still couldn't get it done. Sharpe gets the title handed to him and gives it to Olivencia who raises it up. Scarlett Bordeaux makes the announcement to make it official. Perhaps just as pressing here is the performance of Josh Ashcraft.
