Heidi Lovelace and Jessie Belle fought to a no contest @ 5:07 when AJ Lee interfered. The match was in the thick of things with Belle down and Lovelace waiting for her to get up when the familiar tune hit the P.A. of "Let's Light It Up ..." and out came the NWA World champion AJ Lee, skipping out and around the ring. This immediately took away the attention of Lovelace, allowing for Belle to hit her from behind. She then hooked Lovelace up for a suplex, but AJ would slide into the ring and blast Belle in the back of the head with the championship belt. As she fell to the mat, AJ then reared back and smacked Lovelace in the face with the belt as well. The music starts up again as she puts the belt back around her shoulder and starts to skip around the ring again. The commentators are left confused, but Gilbert points it out, does this mean nobody faces AJ Lee now at Best In The World? Titus says neither deserved the opportunity anyway as the women of OVW were made to look like fools by AJ & CM Punk. Furthermore, AJ is here today. Is that a sign that Punk will be here as well for the contract signing with Samoa Joe later on?

Jax Dane defeats Elvis Pridemoore @ 4:24 via pinfall after a spinebuster. Dane makes his in ring debut here today with a strong performance over "Red Cap". Elvis gets in some offense and puts up a good fight, but gets caught coming off the top rope with a hard spear from The Vanilla Godzilla. Jeremiah Plunkett was out at ringside, as was Chase Owens, relegated to pushing the mystery man's wheelchair to ringside like an errand boy. During the match, he went to commentary and said he had a gigantic announcement, even bigger than Samoa Joe coming. Are they ready for it? He intends ... to ... be ... the second name in the Survival of The Fittest. Dean says who gives a damn, and is more interested as to whether Dane or Owens will also be in it. Plunkett says of course not, Dane has a match at Best In The World that the ink on the contract is not even finished drying on against Rob Conway. As for Owens, it's Survival of The Fittest, not Survival of The People That Push Around Wheelchairs. Owens underperformed against Metal Master at the Saturday Night Special, he needs to get back to basics and work his way back up. Dean calls that a crock as Owens put on a 1 man show while Plunkett needed the help of Dane to win, he's clearly just jealous that Owens is better than him and holding him back! Plunkett bites his lip and says this comes from the direct orders of "him", referring to Mr. Mystery in the wheelchair with a bandaged face. Gilbert says a lot of speculation on who that is, with Plunkett just saying when the time is right, everybody will find out, but until then, everybody can continue being the puppets as "he" pulls the strings.

Contract Signing
Back from break and Director of Authority Jim Cornette is in the ring with senior referee Chris Sharpe. A customary table is setup with only 1 chair.Jim Cornette: Alright, welcome back. Big moment right now as we head into Best In The World. Ohio Valley has become a hot spot for competition here in the NWA and no better is that exemplified than during the match we are about to talk about. CM Punk arrived back in October, looking to embarrass and humiliate OVW by winning the Heavyweight Title and walking out as champion. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and he did just that, except it was done by proxy. AJ Lee, an associate for lack of better of term, she won the OVW Women's Title and Punk vacated the championship in her name and has held it hostage in an attempt to call the bluff and show that he means business out here with his claims. While he will get that shot he earned by defeating Elijah Burke at Retribution at Best In The World against Jamin Olivencia, he must first face off with Samoa Joe at the Saturday Night Special. No sense having 2 chairs out here because last time we had a contract signing, Punk couldn't be bothered to show. But there is 1, so ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the Davis Arena ...
"Cult of Personality" plays as there is a loud pop takes over for the unexpected surprise that quickly turns to 100% booing. Out instead once again steps lawyer extraordinaire Christian Mascagni, representative of Punk.
Jim Cornette: This is outrageous. You guys pulled this stunt once before when the fans were promised CM Punk, we don't need you out here again. This is Samoa Joe's time, you were faxed a copy of the contract to sign for this exact reason. Nobody cares Mascagni about what you have to say!
Christian Mascagni: Jeez, calm down. You really need to lay off the caffeine Mr. Cornette, I mean it's just, it's noticeable. I will say that much. Don't jump to conclusions, I'm just out here to take care of some business first. After my client's past actions and the reaction, overreaction in my opinion, he is quite frankly afraid for his life. That is why he is not here tonight. He's not stepping out here into some sort of trap. I am here tonight however, because my client has some words for Mr. Samoa Joe.
Jim Cornette: Well before we get to Samoa Joe, I got something to ask you. Where is the OVW Women's championship belt that your "client" has expropriated from this company? That belt is not his to have. We need it back so that we can get on with crowning a new Women's champion.
Christian Mascagni: Don't worry about that. You will get the championship back next week when my client is here. I have the belt in my possession in safe keeping, and it will be returned only when my client has received fair treatment.
Jim Cornette: Pretty fitting there. You having possession of the Women's championship.
Christian Mascagni: Slander Mr. Cornette, and I will remind you that if I see the opportunity open itself up, I will sue you, I will sue Danny Davis, I will sue... I will even sue every last fan in this building just because I can!
Jim Cornette: If you wanna sue something, I got something you can sue and it's my foot-
Suddenly the music of the OVW champion plays! The fans cheer as out comes Jamin Olivencia, getting into the ring. Mascagni backs up as Olivencia steps towards him.
Jim Cornette: Jamin Olivencia, I don't know what this is about.
Jamin Olivencia: What it's about is CM Punk! Where is he Mascagni? WHERE IS HE?!
Jim Cornette: Jamin, please. We have some other business to conduct out here right now. You'll have your chance against him on April 12 at Best In The World.
Jamin Olivencia: And what about next week Cornette. What about Samoa Joe? What happens if Punk doesn't make it through him first? I should be getting the first chance at Punk, not some outsider.
Jim Cornette: Jamin, the match with you and Punk is not dependent on the match at the Saturday Night Special. Whether CM Punk loses to Samoa Joe, or whether CM Punk defeats Samoa Joe-
And suddenly the ominous music starts to play, interrupting Cornette. Instantly recognizable as that of former NWA World Heavyweight champion Samoa Joe. He heads out and gets into the ring. Mascagni immediately heads to the other side of the table rather than be anywhere near the beast. Joe steps to go over to him, but Olivencia takes a step and stands directly in front of him. This is unexpected to say the least. Jamin Olivencia and Samoa Joe get caught face to face with Joe telling him to move right now. Cornette steps in between them, a move few would dare make.
Jim Cornette: Alright, let's just calm down here. Cool it!
Joe eyes Mascagni as he steps back, the lawyer cautiously offering up his mic. Joe grabs it from him.
Samoa Joe: Thanks for the offer, but I would have taken it anyway. So it's Jamin Olivencia vs CM Punk whether I beat Punk, or ... he ... beats ... me? Is that what I heard you say? A little history lesson for you Jim Cornette. CM Punk? It's not if he beats me because CM Punk CAN'T beat me. There's a reason I was called for this above anybody else. I have Punk's number, I always have. I will make him tap if it's the absolute last thing I do. 60 minutes is pretty generous because I guarantee it won't take that long. It didn't take that long at Spring Stampede, it didn't take that long at the Great American Bash. Beyond that though, this? All this? Jamin Olivencia vs CM Punk? I don't care. I don't give a damn about that match, preserving it. Making sure he arrives in 1 piece. That's not why I agreed to it. I didn't come in because of that OVW championship you have. Don't think though that while I'm here, I'm above making you tap out like the little b**** that you are and taking it as well.
A very isolated portion of the crowd starts a "Joe's gonna kill you, Joe's gonna kill you" chant, but Olivencia is unfazed. He takes off the strap from his waist, holds it up and steps up to Joe's face. He tells him that if he wants this, come and get it!
Jim Cornette: Ok, calm down. Let's not do this right now.
Samoa Joe: You better watch yourself. You're playing a game you don't understand. This isn't the minor leagues you're dealing with anymore, this is the big time kid. You're talking to a man that's been the NWA World Heavyweight champion, something you've never done. Hold that as high as you want, it means **** when you're doing it in my face! See, I came here to make a statement. OVW have their reasons for giving me this match, I have mine for taking it. And I don't care about you Jim Cornette, I don't care about your vacant Women's championship and what Punk did. All I care about is getting back MY property. Last time I came here, I showed up as the NWA World champion. I showed up and Rob Conway wanted a shot at the title, I said any time. See, that's the difference between me and AJ Styles. I'm not afraid. Unlike Styles, I'll walk in here with or without the title. Doesn't matter to me. Times though, they change. I no longer have that title, and meanwhile little p**** *** *****es like Chris Masters think they deserve a shot over me. I was never given opportunities because a promoter liked the look of my body and I had muscles in all the right places. Any opportunity I got was through being the best and beating the best, and that's why I'm here. That's why I'm signing this contract. That's why I'm going to wrestle Punk at The Saturday Night Special while Styles keeps playing make believe and pretend that he deserves my championship without giving me a rematch, and while Masters is busy oiling himself for an empty arena match with Gaydar in the Boystown area of Chicago or whatever he does in his free time.
Christian Mascagni: Speaking of Chicago-
Out of nowhere Mascagni speaks into Cornette's mic and gets a side turn of the head from Joe. If looks could kill. He takes the mic.
Samoa Joe: Did I say I was finished? Who the hell is this guy?
Christian Mascagni: My name is Christian Mascagni, attorney at law, and I represent CM Punk in this contract signing.
Samoa Joe: Yeah? Then maybe you should sign the contract and get the hell out of here.
Christian Mascagni: Hold on here. Hold on. Samoa Joe, I think you've gotten disrespected out here. I might represent CM Punk, but that doesn't mean I can't represent you as well. I mean think about it. Samoa Joe, pro wrestling superstar, we know that. But Samoa Joe ... MMA superstar. I can't get you a meeting with Dana White. I can't get you a lunch with Lorenzo Fertitta. You're just not big enough, you're not CM Punk. No offense. But! You've been the NWA World champion, but you've never been the ... wait for it ... Bellator champion! Samoa Joe ... vs ... Vitaly Minakov. I can make it happen. Forget this Saturday Night Special stuff. You've beat CM Punk. You've beat AJ Styles. You've beat Chris Masters. Test yourself like Punk is doing in the UFC. Granted, doing both? You? I don't see it. But MMA, I see potential in you as the next Bellator World Heavyweight champion! You could headline the world over on ... Spike TV!
Samoa Joe: Is that right? Seems like you might be just trying to get your client out of this match with me. Do me a favor, sign the contract. Do it, sign the contract.
Joe forces the contract onto Mascagni. Joe picks up a pen and shoves it into Mascagni's chest. Mascagni starts looking it over and shakes his head.
Christian Mascagni: No, no, no. This says Samoa Joe vs CM Punk ... special guest referee ... CHRISTOPHER DANIELS?!
Joe tells him to sign it again. This time, grabbing the contract and slamming it down onto the table. He grabs Mascagni's hand with the pen and puts it to the paper. Mascagni signs it.
Samoa Joe: That's good. That's good.
Christian Mascagni: That was under duress for the record, I don't think that contract would hold up in-
Samoa Joe: Now you take a message from me and you deliver it to CM Punk. And you know, I think that at the same time, you can take it as a response to your offer. Samoa Joe, Bellator Heavyweight champion.
Christian Mascagni: On Spike TV.
Samoa Joe: Yeah. On ... *sigh* ... Spike TV. So take this, and tell Punk that's it personally from me. Can you do that?
Christian Mascagni: Yeah, I can-
Joe quickly grasps Mascagni, cutting him off. He lifts him up above his head, takes a few steps and drives him into the mat with a Muscle Buster! The roof comes off the Davis Arena before breaking out into "Joe, Joe, Joe" chants. Mascagni is completely out of it. As Joe stands, he just looks down at the lawyer in disgust. He then looks over to the contract on the table, grabs it. He signs it, meanwhile Cornette steps over and pushes Mascagni with his foot as if to check if he's even still conscious after that. Joe takes the mic again.
Samoa Joe: I don't like lawyers, and I REALLY don't like Spike TV. As for you Punk. Wherever you are. I hope you've realized that the rules have just changed. You can forget about your little crusade here because it means **** now. What matters is that I'm here and I'm calling you out. Saturday Night Special, you bring your sorry self to the ring. You want to keep playing games like this? I don't play games. I wrestle. And I intend to make you tap. They might have their reasons for wanting to do this match, punishment. And you know what? They're right. I am going to punish you like you have never been punished before. But I have mine. This isn't that UFC cat fight crap that's over in 90 seconds. You better be ready to go because I am pushing you to the limits. Whether it takes 90 seconds or 90 minutes, I will make you tap. And then after I get done proving I am the best in the world, supposed Greatest of All Time AJ Styles and Mr. Muscle Chris Masters, both of you had better be ready because I'm coming for what's mine. The NWA World Heavyweight Title. Be ready Punk, you've been warned.
The music plays again as Joe goes to exit the ring while the fans cheer. He stops on the apron and looks at Olivencia. The OVW champion is ready for it, but Joe just smirks and continues on his way out. Samoa Joe vs CM Punk, next week at the Saturday Night Special, and apparently Christopher Daniels will be the special referee as well! Olivencia meanwhile has Punk at Best In The World, Elijah Burke with a briefcase for a shot anywhere he chooses, Rudy Switchblade with a guaranteed rematch as the former champion, and now ... is Samoa Joe part of that equation? Mascagni meanwhile continues to be out like a light.

Rump Thump defeats Jason Lee @ 5:49 via pinfall after rolling through a go behind attempt by Lee and reversing it. After a successful return last week by "The Man" against Ram Jam, Lee was back out against stiffer competition. The match was a back and forth affair, but Thump got control and went for his trademark butt butt finisher. Lee however stopped short and as Thump landed, ran him front first into the ropes, taking him back with a go behind. The referee started counting as Lee grabbed some tights for a little added leverage, but the referee caught it. He started giving Lee a 5 count and got complaining, during which time Rump Thump reversed it and was able to score the 3 count for the win. Lee couldn't believe it, questioning the referee if it was a 3? Thump meanwhile just celebrated the win, an important one. The veteran Lee takes a step back after last week's step forward.

Paredyse defeats Stuart Miles @ 5:31 via pinfall after The Long Kiss Goodnight, a forward STO. The commentators remind viewers of the rivalry that these 2 engaged in over the summer of 2014, resulting in an I Quit match to end the feud that led to the end of The Pastor of Disaster's so called cleansing, although Dean wonders what has really changed? The 2 have a quick back and forth match here, although Paredyse starts turning it on in the last minute as he starts controlling Miles. Eventually he is able to put him away. Titus says that's unusual for Paredyse, doing that to an actual man since usually he's out here picking on woman. Gilbert says to steer clear of that because it should be noted for the record, it was Chris Silvio who accidentally punched Hannah Blossom at the Saturday Night Special and to put any blame on Paredyse is unwarranted. Titus says if he had known his place, it would have never happened as Silvio was aiming for him.

- Rob Conway & Nick Dinsmore vs Jeremiah Plunkett & Jax Dane
- Samoa Joe vs CM Punk, special referee Christopher Daniels
And that is being done to give Joe vs Punk as much time as it needs. Should it go the full 60 minutes, they will bring it to you in its entirety. Should it only go 10 minutes or 5 even, both of which are unlikely, there are standby matches. Plus, Punk is being ordered to return the OVW Women's championship belt pending legal action, speaking of which, the regular TV also tapes as usual April 1, and a big rematch signed with Heidi Lovelace vs Jessie Belle. This time it will be a Lumberjill match, no interference, winner moves on to challenge AJ Lee for the NWA World championship at Best In The World. So you won't want to miss it, next Saturday, right here on WBNA. And then remember that on April 15, OVW moves to Wednesday nights with a live 2 hour special at 8pm. A lot happening, you can't miss OVW.

Jamin Olivencia, Cliff Compton, Colt Cabana & Michael Hayes defeat Rudy Switchblade, Shiloh Jonze, The French Stallion & Eric Locker @ 8:52 when Hayes made Stallion tap out to The Liberty Lock. The Blacklist tastes defeat again as the commentators wonder if maybe the group's best days are now behind them? As the match went on, Olivencia ended up in with a downed Stallion and allowed him to crawl away to the opposing corner. He wanted Switchblade, but the former champion just stepped down from the apron and refused to take the tag. He told Olivencia he would wait until the tag team match at the SNS. Jonze & Locker continued on the apron, looking over at Switchblade. Locker stepped down as well. Jonze seemed confused and then torn. His 2 time Tag Team championship winning partner reached up a hand, but Jonze followed suit and stepped down. Stallion couldn't believe it as Switchblade apologized and told him he's just been Blacklisted. Hayes then tagged in and easily finished off the now abandoned Stallion. Dean says it's hard to have any compassion for the man, but this just shows what kind of people he was associating with. Titus says not to kid ourselves, Stallion would have done the same if the shoe were on the other foot. And then there were 3, perhaps the group clearing some space for The Pope Elijah Burke?
Next week, a reminder if tuning in on Saturday night, the show starts an hour earlier at 9 on WBNA because of the Saturday Night Special airing at 10pm. Heidi Lovelace against Jessie Belle in a Lumberjill match, Dylan Bostic has an open challenge to any hardcore wrestler out there. And then, the SNS. The Lords of The Ring vs The East, and then the match that has everybody talking - Samoa Joe vs CM Punk. All that and a whole lot more, including any more news on Best In The World. For Dean Hill and Michael Titus, Gilbert says so long until then.
Websclusive match #1
Mary Elizabeth Monroe & Ray Lynn defeat Taeler Hendrix & Seleziya Sparx @ 5:31 when Monroe made Hendrix tap out to the Rainbow Cross submission hold, a modified STF. Before the match, Hendrix tried to bury the rivalry with Lynn, with the fans chanting "no, no, no" but Lynn accepted. Playing up the dumb blonde gimmick, she clearly had no idea what that meant and when Hendrix told her to attack Monroe, Lynn just went over and hugger her instead. Hendrix yelled at her, at which point Lynn went up and hugger her too. Infuriated, Hendrix went to hit Lynn, but she blocked it and hit her back. Lynn then turned and started twerking right in Hendrix's face. Commentator The Fan Advocate Terry Boddie speculated that perhaps Ray Lynn is not as clueless as she would seem. Color man for the week was a rare appearance by Dean Hill on the websclusives, agreeing that Lynn plays it up, but she seems to know more than she lets on as The A List go down in defeat.VS |
Websclusive match #2
Ryan Howe fought Aaron Sky to a no contest @ 6:02 when the match came unglued with interference from the usual suspects, The Wild Boyz and Raul Lamotta & The Mexicutioner. During the match, both Howe and Sky are announced for Survival of The Fittest, bringing the total to 5 of 12 names announced. The Rockstar gets his chance 1 on 1 with the man that turned his back on him back on TV a month and a half ago, but found himself in trouble. Shelly Martinez attempted interference, but the referee caught her and almost DQd Sky to lead to him ordering her to the back. This brought out EFD Eddie Diamond as the knight in shining armor, but he would quickly get jumped by Lamotta & Mexicutioner, bringing out The Party Starter Bud Dwight for the save. Moments later the match would have to be thrown out as all hell broke loose with the 4 ending up in the ring. Boddie wonders what it will take for this feud to come to a conclusion given the number of participants and the interference factor.VS |
