Sorry if this is a day late, I've had a busy week with interviews and stuff, so I've been a bit too stressed to get things written. Anyway I've done my best with this show but I feel I could have done better, but I should be able to improve things next week with the first of my planned specials.
NWA Maximum 27/05/2015
"The Commissioner of Asskicking" Steve Blackman is in his office to start our show. He has an announcement to make.
"Good evening wrestling fans, welcome to NWA Maximum. As you will all know, we have some big matches coming up in the next few weeks. There is a 3 match series between Brock Lesnar and Brodus Clay, plus the Personal Demons versus Chris Jericho matchup. Other rivalries are brewing to, and this had lead to me making a big deal. Starting next week we are to air a series of 5 live specials exclusively on our Youtube channel, all of which will be headlined by important main event matches. The line-ups will be announced after this weeks show, but I can already confirm that next week, the first even will be headlined by the first match between Brock Lesnar and Brodus Clay! Thank you and let the asskicking commence!"
"Cowboy" James Storm vs Ted Dibiase
If James Storm win this match, then he will get a shot at Randy Orton's TV Title in a match that is highly anticipated by NWA Maximum fans. Dibiase has impressed as well since he came to NWA Maximum, but needed a win to get back on track after big defeats in the final of the TV Title tournament and a Heavyweight Title match last week. These two would prove to be a good match for each other, they were both strong wrestlers and brawlers, Dibiase perhaps the stronger on the mat but Storm was the better fighter. And in NWA Maximum, brawling is perhaps the most key skill of all, as when Dibiase locked the Million Dollar Dream, Storm would grab a beer bottle, smash it over the head of Dibiase and then follow this up with a Superkick that would get him the 3 count and his title shot!
Winner- James Storm
Six Man Tag Team Match
The SAT (Amazing Red, Joel and Jose Maximo) vs EGO (Damien Sandow, Bobby Roode and Cody Rhodes)
Amazing Red has once again returned to NWA Maximum, joining his cousins Los Maximos in their rivalry with EGO, who tried to screw them out of their tag belts last week with the introduction of Cody Rhodes as a new member. EGO may all be like minded personalities, but they do not have the experience as a team that The SAT do, so when it came to crisp, fast team work they definitely had the advantage. EGO however were the better mat wrestlers and had greater in-ring smarts, they formed a strategy of isolating Amazing Red from his partners, grounding the high flier by working on his previously injured knee. But this is NWA Maximum and there's no DQ's for not staying on the outside, so Los Maximos ended up getting in the ring as the match broke down into a six person brawl. Los Maximos would take out Rhodes and Roode on the outside with stereo Suicide Dives, but Sandow had Red in trouble in the ring. He locked him in the Royal Arch, and Red had no choice but to tap out!
Winners- EGO
Grudge Match
"The Most Hybrid Athlete in NWA History" Kyle Matthews vs Paul London
Matthews and London were former allies in The Prophecy, but London attacked Matthews last week, causing him to lose a match to Bad News Barrett. We got a fast paced match here with a bit of everything: high flying, mat wrestling and lots of hatred as the two brawled back and forth. In addition, neither man wasn't beyond a cheap tactic or two, London especially, but Matthews at least seems to be making an effort to get away from that side of his personality and wrestled this mostly clean.
But this match was to take not one, but two very unexpected twists. As Matthews looked to have this one wrapped up, Bray Wyatt walked out to the ring distracting Matthews. As Wyatt got into the ring, London attacked Matthews from behind and the two started a two on one beatdown on Matthews. Then the second twist, JOHNNY GARGANO RAN OUT FOR THE SAVE! He attacked Wyatt with anger, firing away with rights and lefts, before taking him out of the ring with a messy Spear and more right hands! London however has Matthews in trouble, he climbs to the top looking for the Londons Calling. MATTHEWS MOVES AND LONDON HITS THE CANVAS! Matthews quickly recovers and grabs London, HIDAKA LOCK! London taps and Matthews wins it!
Winner- Kyle Matthews
Wyatt and London leave together, as they appear to have formed some kind of alliance, this however still doesn't explain to me why London has targeted Matthews of all people. I expect this will be explained to us next week.
But this isn't quite over yet. Gargano gets in the ring, and for the first time in at least a year, Johnny Gargano and Kyle Matthews, bitter enemies who have had some tremendous matches in New Jersey over the past few years, are in the ring together. The two have an intense staredown as the fans go nuts, AND GARGANO OFFERS MATTHEWS A HANDSHAKE! Matthews consider it briefly, but chooses to simply walk away, as the fans give a mixed reaction to his decision. On the one hand, I can see why Gargano would want to bury the hatchet with Matthews, with them both having a common enemy in Bray Wyatt. But on the other hand these two have been bitter rivals for a long time, Matthews clearly still hates Gargano and I don't see how these two could possibly co-exist as a team for even one match. If however these two can somehow put aside their rivalry and form an alliance, they could be a team to be seriously feared!
NWA Maximum TV Title Match
"The Viper" Randy Orton vs "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson
Anderson is highly favoured by "Commissioner of Asskicking" Steve Blackman, as was evident last week when he inserted him into the Los Maximos/EGO matchup. Now he has given Anderson a title shot against Randy Orton, and he definitely stepped up to the plate, as this ended up being a wild brawl that went all around the ringside area and even into the crowd at one point. It was also a battle of near identical finishing moves, as the RKO went against the Gun Stun, with both struggling to hit their moves due to the opponent's familiarity with not only how to execute their signature hold but how to escape from it. Anderson brought a chair into this, smacking Orton with some stuff chairshots, and then wanted a Gun Stun onto the chair. Orton however reversed it, fired back with a series of Clotheslines and a Powerslam, and started to hear the voices, pounding on the canvas with anger. RKO ON THE CHAIR! 1-2-3, Orton retains in a hard fought match!
Winner- Randy Orton
Its time for a NWA Maximum Heavyweight Title match between Rhino and Bad News Barrett. Barrett rises up on his podium with something to say to Rhino.
"Rhino, you are the NWA Maximum Heavyweight Champion, and you have defended that belt with honour and pride so far. But I'm afraid I have some BAD NEWS for you. The zoo is closing down and I'm the hunter, shooting down the wild animals of the NWA like you. And after our match tonight, the GOOD NEWS for the NWA is that I will be the new NWA Maximum Heavyweight Champion!"
NWA Maximum Heavyweight Title Match
"The Man Beast" Rhino vs Bad News Barrett
Barrett received this title shot after getting a victory over former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Kyle Matthews last week, any win over a former World champion has to count for something. And Barrett was an interesting challenge for Rhino, Barrett had the height advantage yet Rhino had the weight advantage and thus was still quite easily able to overpower Barrett. So Barrett had to take the strategy of trying to keep Rhino on the mat, using his bare knuckle boxing skills to knock Rhino down and then locking him in submissions when he was on the mat, targeting Rhino's surgically repaired neck. However this only worked for so long, as Rhino got a lucky break by grabbing a trash can lid and smashing it over Barrett's head, then got a run of offense together. He went for the Gore, but Barrett out of nowhere hat the Bad News Bull Hammer! He went for the cover, but chose to pull Rhino up off the canvas, a very foolish move. He went for the Wasteland, but Rhino escaped and hat a German Suplex. GORE! 1-2-3, Rhino retains, but had Barrett not gotten cocky he could have had the belt won.
Winner- Rhino
The Reject w/Personal Demons vs Shane Helms w/Chris Jericho
Two former best friends and tag team partners collide here, and with a match between the allies of these two men looming, a match where Chris Jericho's career will be on the line, they both chose to accompany their partners to the ring to ensure there was no foul play. The Reject looked even more emotionless than he has in recent weeks, though started the match hot by hitting a Suicide Dive through the ropes as Helms headed for the ring, then throwing him into the steps and the guardrail. He also went for the ring bell, but Jericho stopped him and this lead to Jericho and Personal Demons brawling at ringside. The Reject took Helms into the ring and took him down with some more high risk moves as Demons started assaulting Jericho with a chair on the outside. The Reject calls for the Halo and goes up top, but Helms moves and he hits the canvas! Helms mounts a fire filled comeback, taking The Reject down with some Clotheslines followed by a Cross Body and a Shining Wizard. He goes for the cover 1-2-NO! Helms lifts The Reject up. VERTEBREAKER! He goes for the cover, 1-2-PERSONAL DEMONS PULLS THE REF OUT! Demons gets in the ring and the two exchange punches, and Helms actually gets the advantage. He irish whips Demons towards the ropes and Jericho pulls the ropes down, causing Demons to fall to the outside! But The Reject has recovered and has a chair, AND SMASHES HELMS OVER THE HEAD WITH IT! MOOREGASM ONTO THE CHAIR! 1-2-3, The Reject wins it, but not without some help from Personal Demons!
Winner- The Reject
Post match, The Reject looks to deliver some more punishment to Helms, as Jericho and Demons battle into the ring. Jericho calls for the Walls of Jericho, but Demons gives him a Low Blow and then hits the Twist of Fate! He goes up top looking for the Swanton Bomb, but before he can hit it, the lights go out! A message then appears on the big screen, accompanied by some haunting imagery-
The lights come back on as Demons seems to know what this means, I think we all do. The fans certainly do as they start chanting "We want Matt!". But he wasn't counting on Jericho kicking back up to his feet, as he crotches Demons on the turnbuckle! He picks Demons back up. CODE BREAKER! He puts Demons in the Walls of Jericho as Helms drops The Reject with a Vertebreaker! The show ends with Jericho still having the hold locked on Demons as official try desperately to get him to release it, as Jericho screams with anger and promises his career won't end! See you next week fans for the first of our Youtube specials.
