16/04: More matches announced for Uncensored!
- After being hounded by "Kharma" Kia Stevens and recently defeated in a non-title match, Paige the Windy City Womens Champion will put her title on the line against the beast that is Kharma Kia Stevens.
- Heath Slater squeaked out two narrow and controversial split point decision wins over Curtis Axel on successive SNL's, Axel is convinced his is the better man than "the legendary" Heath Slater and the judges won't be there to help him this time as the two will compete in a no-time limit match on the lower-card.
-Headlining the Uncensored kick-off show, will be a Cyber TV Championship match between the champion Solomon Crowe, who has defected to NWA Mid-Atlantic with the belt, and former NWA Mid-Atlantic star Adam Cole!

So far, Magnus is writing the NWA Maximum match.
Any volunteers for match writing for any of the other NWA title matches?

I think with the loss of joe, this is pretty much a solo effort in writing. Nobody else has much to grasp on this show as it's basically been booked as a Windy City event over a more traditional league PPV, which is fine as that was discussed a few months ago and decided upon to give promotions the right to do their own PPVs. It's basically the same as the Impact one a couple months back. I heard several alternate matches in PM for this show that for whatever reason never made this card that might have given it some more league diversity but I guess given where things stand today, maybe it's better you went the way you did. I have no idea of the conversations had about them or if they even happened with you beyond what I was told.

Yeah it's a solo effort apart from the match and segment Magnus has sent in. Nobody offered to write a match but I expected that and that's cool.
I tried to make it more league-appealing but to be honest things from other promotions that was supposed to materialise did not happen, and some matches we had planned was no way ready for Uncensored imo. I then tried to change plans, to get people ivolved, but spots was declined and or not promoted on their own cards (or lack of cards). Would be interested to know what matches you have heard about?
I've also had a very tough month personally, with the passing of my mother so I'm actually pleased with the build I've given this show given the problems I was faced with not much cooperation and personal issues ontop of that. Writing the last few cards has helped take my mind of things and although things are not perfect given the circumstances I believe we have a pretty good card here and a decent build.

Sorry to hear about your mother.
The stuff I had heard about was AJ Styles defending against somebody from Japan, again, no idea how far that went beyond the PM I was told about it. Personally I found the World Title match was a bit too much. I think there were 2 storylines there thrown together - Samoa Joe's rematch and Chris Masters' rematch which was basically the same storyline and lent itself to a 3 way, and then the Jay Lethal stuff was entirely separate. Not that it matters now, but I think Lethal would have been better served with a match on this show against another top contender and then getting thrown into the mix afterward (maybe CM Punk in Chicago since they had had history?). As it was, his ascent to this match with the other 2 for me felt really out of place. I think you recognized that to an extent too because I saw the original challenge to the match didn't even involve him, it was Punk in a 4 way, and then you changed it shortly after posting it (and probably for the better given Punk had nothing to do with that, but again, a 3 way made more sense to me). Obviously it doesn't matter now because the push is basically dead, but Lethal could have and probably would have been World champion given more time, and instead now he's going to be starting fresh on a new roster.
Other matches were the Junior title one, but I won't give an opinion there since I wasn't involved and have heard 2 differing viewpoints. The Women's Title you seemed to want me to pull off my own iPPV, and then when I wouldn't, you lost interest in it. I had offered a rematch if Lovelace won, which she did, and had AJ won, I suggested AJ vs Havok from Mid Atlantic since she won a #1 contenders match last month. You said you'd consider Havok and then just told me then you weren't doing a Women's Title match and doing your own, so I didn't push for it as it was your show. It's not a case of blame so there's no need to defend yourself in any decisions made, and in the end if joe was going to drop Impact and cdw drop Mid Atlantic, they were the right choice I guess. I think if anything though, it shows the benefits of open discussion on the board about the matches as was done before if you wanted it to have more cooperation and involvement as it would lead to more transparency and opinions. Obviously under the circumstances of your personal life, I don't think anybody holds it against you for not devoting more time to it.
At the end of the day, it's just a PPV. There will be others.

I was sold a storyline on Kato Ibushi being given a big push and a title shot at Uncensored. I wanted to do this as i didn't want it to be all about Windy City this PPV. However, Ibushi's push and planned storyline didn't advance in Union Pro as fast as it needed to do to take place at uncensored. So for him, I went with the back up plan of establishing him state-side. Part of the original plan I had in mind was him and Fin Balor to have a series of 3 matches to really establish both men's fantastic skills and to help him get ready for Uncensored, so I just played this one out to make sure Ibushi still gets a spot on the show, and his chance can perhaps come later if he gets the promotional machine behind him in Japan.
Yeah haha, I often post my shows and then go through it moments later to catch typos, and sometimes change bits n bobs. So you must have caught that. I thought CM Punk would be good in Chicago, but he was massively in other storylines and didn't fit the bill at this time. Jay Lethal was getting a really nice push in Impact and I'd enjoyed Joe's work with him and thought that he would have a solid shot at Uncensored, as Joe did well with him in Impact and he would have made a fresh change as champion (and possiblly could have been champion if he won the 17/04 title shot in Impact which didn't happen) but things didn't come off there as I wanted, as i was hoping for more interplay between promoters on their shows especially with this one.
The Junior match, there was plans for Austin Aries, but things in Impact didn't go the way we had planned.
The Womens, I didn't want you to take it off your show, I was just looking for ideas. In the end I was going to go with Havok from Mid-Atlatnic for the shot but cdw didn't want to go ahead with that right now. So as there was nothing viable, and I already had a decent Womens match for the show (and the show was getting stacked already) I decided not to have a Woman's match.
So yeah not perfect, perhaps a 3-way would have been better I agree. But at least the show was relatively set up in good time unlike previous NWA PPV's haha and has a decent build. Untimely that Impact and Mid-Atlantic have fallen as their challengers who could have been protected at least for future shows now likely won't be.

Looking at Union Pro and the dates, it doesn't seem far off from when you posted that show on March 29 to setup the 4 way that he would have been adequately prepared, so seems like maybe a communication issue through PM. Personally I think him or Lethal was a better match for the July PPV though in terms of actually standing a chance to win, and I assume the 04/17 Impact match originally built Lethal up better than joe thinking he would stand a chance to win the title there. Actually Ibushi vs Lethal on this PPV would have been great as a setup to give 1 of them that push needed. Again though, irrelevant now and things worked out for the better based on how departures and absences turned out. I think the problem is it was sort of a given Styles would have beat Joe and Masters in a 3 way, so there was an attempt to make things more interesting, but it would have just thrown away Ibushi as a challenger as the alternative match this early. Maybe he can still be salvaged for July though depending what Dustin has planned.
As for Aries, no comment as I have no idea what was supposed to happen and what did not happen.
Women's Title, I think a rematch was pretty viable after the title change. It already had significant build to it to coast off of, more so than a lot of the matches on the show had in the end. But again, I wasn't going to fight for it as I had just done the match so it was no real issue for me if it happened again or not after I offered it. Was made clear you were in charge of organizing this, so it was your call in the end to do what with what you had at your disposal.
Basically to me, this all comes down to communication and the value of open discussion on the board. I think we focus a little too much on the build each time and not waiting until the last minute (myself included), and this is just another thing that should be addressed next time as it played an even bigger role and problem than the former did with this PPV.

Actually not sure what his future holds, but Jeff Hardy & the Personal Demons character is probably an equally strong candidate as Ibushi depending on the outcomes of their matches. Whoever has the World champion, I think Hardy's character with maximum's writing and booking of him could provide arguably the best build potential to a World Title match since before I got here. Hopefully the champ lands on a good roster that's up to the task if Styles retains or Lethal wins.
