Volador Jr. vs. Rey Escorpion
This opening match showcased the pace of lucha libre as both men moved effortlessly through the ring and countered each other at every turn. Escorpion controlled the majority of the match, allowing Volador to play to the crowd before countering with his offense. Volador scored with a quebrada but barely held Escorpion down for a two count, prompting Rey to follow with a quebrada of his own that forced Volador to roll his shoulder at the last moment. Volador would mount the hot comeback after reversing a piledriver attempt and eventually catch Escorpion with the Volador Spiral to pick up the victory.

Bo Dallas vs. Hanson
This match felt more like a squash match overall as Dallas found his spots for offense and certainly had the crowd behind him but Hanson was dominant at every turn. Dallas took a tremendous amount of punishment and showed his resilience by continuing to fight back to his feet, eventually using his quickness to mount a strong comeback. Dallas looked to be on the verge of gaining control as he ducked under a clothesline and bounced off the ropes but a Spin Kick of Doom was a quick end to the match.

Terrors of Tonga vs. Bravado Brothers
If the last match would have been considered a squash, then they are still looking for a word to clearly define the dominant fashion that the Terrors of Tonga dispatched the Bravado Brothers. Alipate destroyed Lancelot with one power move after another before simply allowing him to tag out. Tevita then came in and dealt with several dropkicks from Harlem before taking him out of his boots with a clothesline. Harlem tagged back in Lancelot who tried several shoulder blocks before bouncing off the ropes and getting caught with the Tongan Death Grip. Lancelot was slapping the mat immediately as the referee called for the bell before trying to pry the hand of Tevita from the chin of Lancelot. Harlem tried to hammer the shoulder of Tevita but took a thrust kick from Alipate for the trouble. Tonga eventually grunted toward his sons and Tevita relented before he and his brother followed their father back to the locker room.

Roderick Strong vs. Tommaso Ciampa
Whether by design or not, the previous two matches allowed this match to seem and feel even that much better as Strong and Ciampa pushed each other nearly forty minutes. Both men took the very best that the other had to offer and the match was littered by moments where both men were being counted out by the referee. Eventually Ciampa would find another gear and destroyed Strong with several suplexes and then a powerbomb into the corner. Strong looked like he was in trouble as Ciampa drove several running knees into the face of Roderick as he sat in the corner. Strong would eventually stagger to his feet out of instinct and Ciampa took time to line him up for a running kick in the corner but Roderick countered with a capture suplex into the turnbuckle. Now Strong poured on the offense with his patented backbreakers before catching Ciampa with a punt kick and then bouncing off the ropes for the Sick Kick. Ciampa shocked everyone though by ducking the leg of Strong and then dumping him on his head with a vicious single leg powerbomb. Ciampa immediately transitioned into the Cloverleaf and Strong began slapping the mat immediately. Both men received a standing ovation from the crowd as well as a “Thank You” chant.

Leati Anoa'i vs. Michael Elgin
There was no chance that Anoa’i and Elgin was going to measure up to the previous match but the match felt like a big time event based more on the rise of Anoa’i and the amount of huge offense from these two. Anoa’i looked less impressive overall than he had previously but his ability to manhandle someone the size of Elgin at different points makes him a serious contender. Elgin used much the same gameplan that he used to defeat Hanson in his previous match, but Anoa’i is clearly an athlete on another level. Elgin displayed his tremendous power though by holding Anoa’i in a vertical suplex hold for a count of 17, however Leati would counter the feat later in the match, holding Michael for a count of 20. Anoa’i would eventually catch Elgin with a Superman punch before ending the match with the Gorilla Press Samoan Drop.
