NWA Maximum Presents: Maximum Destruction Part 5
We begin the show backstage with Sheamus, who gets a loud cheer from the fans.
Sheamus: "Its been a while since I've been in New Jersey fella, but let me tell ya the real Sheamus is back. Not the diet Sheamus you've seen elsewhere, or the tag team version, the real Sheamus and I'm here for one thing: to fight. You see I love to kick arse and drink Guinness, and I'm all out of Guinness. Which means only one thing, I need to kick some arse, get my pay and down some Guinness after the show fella! Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, you both ain't got no chance, because nobody stands between an Irish man and his Guinness fella!"
Alberto Del Rio vs Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus
These three men are all new to NWA Maximum, and have a lot to prove, showcasing the skills that have made all of them former champions here in the NWA. Del Rio's mat work was crisp, but he also adapted well to the fighting approach that is expected of all wrestlers here, Ziggler looked good on the mat and in the air, his talents are undeniable, while Sheamus is perhaps the best fit for NWA Maximum of the three as he just wanted to fight, beating the hell out of both Del Rio and Ziggler. And it was Sheamus who got the win, as he would hit Del Rio with the Brogue Kick to pin him for the 3 count.
Winner- Sheamus
"The Everyman" Ted Dibiase is here for his debut, as he's dressed not in his usual ring gear, but in a t-shirt, jeans and work boots, as he is now a working class representative of the people rather than the rich aristocrat he once was. Bad News Barrett rises up on his podium.
Barrett: "Ted Dibiase, do I even need to say it. Look at you, you look like one of these morons in the audience, we could swap you with someone out there and we wouldn't even know the difference. Without daddy's trust fund you have nothing, which is BAD NEWS for you, and its about to get worse when I pin you tonight and put an end to your sorry career."
Dibiase however has a response.
Dibiase: "And what's wrong with not having money? Losing it all has been the best thing to ever happen to me, I've learned that money doesn't bring you happiness, there is so much more to life than cash and material goods. I am proud to be one of the many working class heroes of America, I will represent these people in this ring with pride as an everyman. You want to bring everyone down with bad news, well all that has happened to me in the past month was GOOD NEWS!"
Barrett is not pleased at all about this, that one of his Bad News announcements turned out to actually be Good News, he storms for the ring to beat some sense into Dibiase as the match gets underway.
"The Everyman" Ted Dibiase vs Bad News Barrett
Barrett wanted to try and reaffirm that all that has happened to Dibiase was bad news, but he was met with a very different Dibiase than we have seen in the past. Gone is the cocky swagger than Dibiase had as part of Money Inc and in his time with CPW, and instead he is wrestling with passion and heart, representing the people with pride. He is also throwing a lot more fists, with a lot of the matwork he previously used being dropped from his repertoire. Barrett still had the advantage in a fistfight, and he also had a power advantage he made use of, but Dibiase would not stay down for long. He would lock Barrett in the newly renamed Working Class Dream submission hold to make Barrett tap and win him the match!
Winner- Ted Dibiase
Chris Dickinson vs Bobby Roode
The continuing rivalry between EGO and BEYOND continues tonight with 2 matches, this one and a Tag Team Title match later on in the show. Dickinson's ruthless hardcore approach continued here as he brought his baseball bat to the ring and unloaded on Roode with shots, but perhaps unlike the other two members of EGO Roode is capable of matching BEYOND in the fighting stakes, he dished out as good as he got by using some weapons and lots of fists. Dickinson however has a extra level of aggression, stepping it up more and more as the match went on. After knocking Roode down with a vicious Throat Thrust, Dickinson got ready to put an end to this one as he got a chair, obviously looking for the Brain Drill onto the chair. That is until Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow rushed out, attacking Dickinson from behind and hitting him with a quick Double Suplex ONTO THE CHAIR! They run out into the crowd as Roode locks Dickinson in the Crossface. He taps!
Winner- Bobby Roode
Biff Busick and Drew Gulak rush out just seconds too late as Roode escapes in time, having stolen the win. Dickinson gets up and shouts down his tag partners for not helping him when he needed them. This is not the sort of miscommunication you want ahead of a Tag Team Title match, but with wrestlers as passionate as the trio in BEYOND it is to perhaps be expected.
Paul London w/Bray Wyatt vs Johnny Gargano w/Kyle Matthews
Wyatt and Matthews are at ringside to ensure that neither London or Gargano tries to pull a fast one with interference. These two had a great match as they are similar in style, with London having a slight edge in the aerial stakes while Gargano was the sharper of the two on the mat. London gained an advantage when Wyatt distracted Gargano by getting on the mic, but Matthews kicked the mic out of his hand and threw a few punches, before they headed back to their corners. But this advantage was only a temporary one as Gargano fought back, going through his usual repertoire before calling for the Hurts Donut. As he looked to hit it, Wyatt got up on the apron and that was enough to make Matthews crack, as he grabbed his signature chair and smacked Wyatt in the back with it! London took advantage of the slip, hitting the Mushroom Stomp then went up top for the Londons Calling. Matthews tossed the chair in to Gargano however, and Gargano moves AS LONDON HITS THE CHAIR! Gargano grabs him, HURTS DONUT! 1-2-3, big win for Gargano and some retribution.
Winner- Johnny Gargano
Post match the brawl between Matthews and Wyatt continues, as Wyatt hits a Low Blow on Matthews! SISTER ABIGAIL ON THE FLOOR! Wyatt leaves before Gargano can grab him, taking London with him as while Gargano won the battle, The Family had the last word
NWA Maximum TV Title Match
Randy Orton vs Rhino
After coming very close to victory in his match versus Orton two weeks ago, Rhino has been given another shot at Orton here, and considering that he won a rematch versus Brodus Clay for the Heavyweight Title, Rhino's prowess in rematches should not be doubted. The two once again had a fantastic, intense battle, with the raw power of Rhino doing battle with the explosiveness of Orton. Unlike the previous match, Orton chose this time to take a less mat based approach and this time tackle Rhino head on, combining some weapon shots with his signature offense, including a Elevated DDT on a chair that got him a near fall. Rhino fought back, getting a near fall with a Belly to Belly Suplex, then setup a table in the corner. He goes for the Gore, and much like their previous match Orton tries to catch him mid Gore for an RKO. But this time Orton forgot about the table, as while he managed to drop Rhino with an RKO, he still took the full effect of the Gore THROUGH THE TABLE! Both men are down as the ref starts a count, with Rhino up at 7 and Orton at 9. Rhino goes for another Gore, but Orton hits a Clothesline, then another, then a Powerslam! He's hearing the voices as he pounds the canvas, wanting the RKO, throwing the chair into place. RKO ON THE CHAIR! 1-2-3, Orton retains!
Winner- Randy Orton
Yet another win for Orton, who is unbeaten in 2 months of NWA Maximum competition, his credentials are ever increasing. He is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the NWA!
NWA Maximum Tag Team Title Match
EGO (Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes) vs BEYOND (Biff Busick and Drew Gulak)
Both Bobby Roode and Chris Dickinson are notable by their absence, hopefully we will see these two teams battle it out without interference. BEYOND have been dominant in this rivalry so far, with their hardcore approach being a real shock to the system of EGO, as was most evident last week when BEYOND practically squashed them as if they were bugs. This time around however EGO were ready, bringing kendo stick with them to counteract the baseball bats of BEYOND, as the two teams had a fight, brawling back and forth with he occasional wrestling move in there to. Late on, Chris Dickinson ran out to help his team, complete with a baseball bat WRAPPED IN BARBED WIRE! He looked to hit Rhodes with it, but Rhodes ducked AND HE HITS GULAK! Sandow attacks him from behind with some kendo stick shots as Bobby Roode charges out and keeps Busick occupied. Rhodes picks up the downed Gulak, CROSS RHODES! 1-2-3, EGO have against all pre-match prediction retained their titles, all thanks to a mistimed move by Chris Dickinson!
Winners- EGO
Post match EGO leaves as Dickinson takes a mic.
Dickinson: "Drew, Biff, I let you both down tonight. My interference cost you this match and the titles, and as we agreed from the beginning there is only one possible way to settle this."
Dickinson hands Busick and Gulak their baseball bats.
Dickinson: "Good luck to you both and remember to continue to follow the values of BEYOND!"
I can't believe what I'm seeing here, Dickinson is asking them to hit him with the bats. They oblige, BEATING THE HELL OUT OF DICKINSON WITH THE BATS! After about 20 shots from the bats, Gulak and Busick leave, their former leader lying motionless on the canvas. I guess they must have had some kind of agreement that if someone screwed up and cost them a big match, then that person is gone from the group. Either way, BEYOND is now a 2 person team, and who knows what the future holds for both them and for Dickinson.
NWA Maximum Heavyweight Title Match
Karl Anderson vs James Storm
Storm's impressive win/loss record in NWA Maximum, combined with his win over former Heavyweight Champion Rhino last week, has earned him a shot at Karl Anderson's title. The two put on a great matchup as their styles are very similar, with a mixture of mat wrestling and brawling as neither man could really get an advantage either way. Storm managed to lock in a Sharpshooter at one point, but Anderson made it to the ropes, then the ropes would foil Storm again when he hat the Last Call, as Anderson reached them at the last possible second. Storm then went for the Eye of the Storm, but Anderson reversed and managed to hit the Gun Stun, which got 3 and allowed Anderson to once again retain his title.
Winner- Karl Anderson
Storm and Anderson shake hands post match, showing their mutual respect for one another, as you now have to wonder what title Storm is going to go after now that he has failed to win both the TV and Heavyweight titles.
Its the moment we've all been waiting for as Matt Hardy makes his way out to a thunderous ovation from the fans, who have been waiting for his comeback for months. He's accompanied by Shane Helms, and Hardy grabs a mic.
Hardy: "JEFF! You know what I want. I want you one on one in this ring right here, right now! I don't care what it takes, if you want my career I'll put it on the line, just get out here and fight me RIGHT NOW!"
The Fallen of Personal Demons and The Reject head out onto the ramp.
Demons: "I knew you would see sense Matt, maybe you aren't the coward I thought you were. Your career will be on the line Matt, but I'm not going to fight you tonight. No, you've got to get through The Reject first before you can even think of fighting me. Good luck Matt, you are going to need it."
The Fallen prepare to leave but before they can Shane Helms takes the mic.
Helms: "Wait! Matt, please, you don't have to do this. Look what happened to Chris, he lost everything at Uncensored all because of hate. You are above this Matt, you can just walk away and leave this madman to his own devices, don't throw everything away. I want things to be the way they were, we were all family and now we are tearing each other apart. Can we not sit down and sort this out, and be brothers once again?"
Hardy: "Shane, I appreciate your concern, but you have to understand that I HAVE to do this. Yes he is my brother, yes he is a madman and yes I could lose my place in the sport that I love, but this man nearly cost me my life. I was in a hospital bed for over a month and the doctors said a few more chair shots to the skull and I could have died. Me and Jeff may have been brothers once, but family only goes so far and I need to beat some sense into him, if only to regain my lost pride. I don't care, as long as I take down the man I once knew as my brother in the process!"
Personal Demons is laughing about this development, and sits on the ramp with mic in hand.
Demons: "A touching speech Matt, such kind words. But maybe you should listen to Shane, after all you could die in the ring if you fight me. Because trust me Matt, nothing would give me more pleasure than seeing you finally die instead of faking your own death for Youtube hits!"
Helms has to hold Hardy back after that one, but Demons isn't done.
Demons: "Now as much as I could fire remarks at you like those all day Matt, I want to talk to Shane for a minute if you don't mind. You see Shane, I know that you've picked your side and gone with the man who stands besides you in the ring. But Matt Hardy isn't all that he appears. Do you remember all the pain you went through at Uncensored when Chris Jericho put his career on the line, and you had to stand there and watch as I slowly but surely ended it, before finally getting you to count the 3 count. All of that could have been avoided. You might have noticed Matt say that he spent only a month in the hospital, yet he's been away for a lot longer. So what has he been doing you may ask? While you and Chris were fighting me, Matt was spending his time coming up with "cryptic" messages to put on the big screen that were supposed to scare me ahead of his impending return. Yes, Matt Hardy has been cleared for an in-ring return for over a month, but chose not to return.
Shane, Matt Hardy doesn't give a damn about you and he doesn't give a damn about Chris Jericho. He could have returned weeks ago, intervening and putting his own career on the line there and then to save the career of Chris Jericho, and saving you all that pain you feel right now. But he didn't, he sat back and watched from his computer, posting his little scare tactics and turning the lights out. He wanted to see you hurt Shane, he wanted Chris Jericho to be retired. Need more proof Shane, he might have interfered at Uncensored, but did he stick around to make sure I lost the match and Chris Jericho kept his career? Nope, he ran into the crowd after he had his little moment. He abandoned you again Shane, just like he abandoned me and Shannon so many times before.
So let me make you an offer Shane. Join me, be my brother once again and together, we can rid the wrestling world of Matt Hardy and all that pain and suffering he has caused you over the years. We both miss you Shane, you belong at our side and I promise that unlike the man in that ring with you, I won't just stand back and watch the ones you care about lose everything!"
Helms looks furious with this turn of events, as he snatches the mic from Matt Hardy.
Helms: "NO! I'LL NEVER JOIN YOU! ALL THREE OF YOU CAN GO TO HELL!"
Hardy tries to reason with Helms WHO SHOVES HIM OVER! Helms leaves through the crowd as Personal Demons laughs to himself on the ramp, but he isn't done.
Demons: "Aww, poor Matt, did your only friend abandon you? Well its probably for the best Matt, because you see, there's one more little clause I've had inserted into the contract if you want to fight me. Yes you have to put your career on the line when we wrestle, yes you have to fight The Reject, but you also have to win one more match. And that match will be against none other than.....SHANE HELMS!"
Hardy again is fuming about this development, as now personal Demons and The Reject turn to leave. We all expected this to be a night of revenge for Matt Hardy, but it is Personal Demons who has come out of this on top, his mind games have driven a wedge between Hardy and Shane Helms, and now Hardy may not have an ally to help him in the war against his brother.
Last Man Standing
"Big Bad" Brodus Clay vs Brock Lesnar
So the winner of this matchup will well and truly be able to call themselves the better man, after two wars at Maximum Destruction's #1 and #3. Lesnar won the first match in pretty convincing fashion in the NWA Maximum rules match, but Clay battled hard inside Hell in a Cell and won that one to even the series.
The two stare each other down to begin the match, before they back away AND LESNAR RUN THROUGH CLAY WITH A CLOTHESLINE! He picks up Clay and drives him into the corner with punches, followed by a series of vicious knee strikes to the gut. He goes outside and grabs a chair AND LEVELS CLAY WITH A SHOT! Lesnar asks the ref to count, but Clay gets up at 5. Lesnar grabs Clay and hits a Belly to Belly, then sits down on Clay and punches away at him, busting Clay open in the process! He asks the ref to count again, but Clay gets up at 7, hanging onto the ropes. Lesnar goes for a Clothesline, but Clay manages to backdrop Lesnar over the top to the floor!
Clay however is still struggling as Lesnar gets back in and hits some more punches to that cut on Clay's forehead, as blood is pouring out of his head now. He then puts Clay in the Brock Lock, a move we haven't seen in years, and Clay cannot escape this from tapping out or even the ropes. Clay had one hope, as he crawls over towards the chair. He grabs it and SMASHES LESNAR! He releases the hold and both me are down.
Lesnar is up just before Clay at 7, and goes for another charge, but Clay grabs Lesnar and hits an Exploder, followed by a Belly to Belly and a Powerslam. He asks for a count but Lesnar is up at 5. FALL OF HUMANITY! Another count and this time Lesnar is only up at 8, the closest yet. The two exchange punches and Lesnar gets the advantage, throwing Clay to the ropes, and when Clay goes for another Fall of Humanity Lesnar manages to avoid it. Lesnar lifts up Clay. F5! He asks for a count and it looks like Clay is done, but he somehow makes it up at the last possible second at 9.
Lesnar has the steel chair again ANOTHER SADISTIC CHAIR SHOT TO THE SKULL! He asks for another count, but Clay gets up once again and this time Lesnar has really lost it, going for the ring steps and throwing them into the ring. He wants an F5 on the steps, and this would surely end it, but Clay escapes and grabs Lesnar. POWERBOMB ON THE STEEL STEPS! The fans chant "holy shit" and both men are down. Clay is up at 8 and Lesnar somehow makes it up again at 9, this man is an utter machine!
Lesnar tries one more time for an F5 on the steps, but Clay avoids it and slams Lesnar on the steps. He then climbs onto the ropes and wants a Brodus Bomb to Lesnar on those steps, this would definitely end it. He goes for it BUT LESNAR MOVES AND CLAY HITS THE STEPS! Another double count and Lesnar is up at 7, with Clay making it up at the last possible second once again. Lesnar grabs Clay, F5 ON THE STEEL STEPS! Lesnar is hanging on by a thread on the ropes but Clay isn't getting up this time. The referee counts to 10 and awards the match and indeed the series to Brock Lesnar!
Winner- Brock Lesnar
So while pushing Brock Lesnar to his very limits, Brodus Clay has come up short as Lesnar win this series, but he can be proud of his achievements in this series, hanging with one of the very best and winning against him inside a Hell in a Cell. Lesnar celebrates his win some more as Clay leaves to a big ovation from the fans.
To end our show we cut to "The Commissioner of Asskicking" Steve Blackman, who is in his office.
Blackman: "Thank you wrestling fans for tuning in to these 5 Maximum Destruction Youtube specials, and enjoying the series between Brodus Clay and Brock Lesnar. Rest assured there is plenty more excitement coming in NWA Maximum with some fresh faces on their way. And to finish things off I have an exciting announcement for you all. We can confirm that from next week, we will have a brand new Internet based TV show called Maximum Impact, that you can stream for free from NWAMaximum.com. It will feature all the NWA Maximum stars that you love in exciting matches, plus yours truly will be on hand to ensure that lots of asskickings are dished out! Make sure you tune in next week for our first show, until then thanks again for joining us on Youtube!"
NWA Maximum Heavyweight Title Match
