So apologies if this show isn't quite my best work, but with the recent changes to my roster I've had to try and figure out how I'm going to use said talents and I've not quite figured out what I'm doing with everybody quite yet. There may be more changes in the next few weeks as I now have 2 more roster spots to work with after this show and as I figure out who is in my plans and who isn't.
NWA Maximum: Maximum Impact 08/05/2015
Debutants Showcase
Jack Swagger vs John Morrison
Good opening contest here as Swagger makes his return to New Jersey, being a former member of The Revolution and the original partner of Kyle Matthews in The Hybrid Athletes, while Morrison has also made appearances here in the past. Morrison showcased the amazing athletic ability that has made his a former World Tag Team Champion, but Swagger was in no mood to be upstaged, he demonstrated both his power and his great technical wrestling ability, at times dominating Morrison. Swagger would put Morrison away with a Doctor Bomb for 3.
Winner- Jack Swagger
Alberto Del Rio comes down to the ring in his limo, as the fans boo and he flaunts his wealth. He gets in the ring with mic in hand.
Del Rio: "My name is Alberto Del Rio, but you already know that. Now I know that you all look at me and you think one thing: why can't I be that handsome guy. Because you all want the best things in life: the fast cars, the beautiful women, the fine wine and dining, and yet you can't have it because you are from New Jersey."
He is doing nothing to endear himself to the fans I see.
Del Rio: "However there is one man who I want to offer an opportunity like no other. He is a man hard on his luck, a once rich man who has fallen on hard times through no fault of his own. That man is Ted Dibiase. Ted please come down here and talk with me my friend."
"The Everyman" Ted Dibiase makes his way out to a good ovation from the fans, and gets in the ring to listen to what Del Rio has to say.
Del Rio: "Ted Dibiase, look at you. You've lost everything you once had, the looks that got the ladies are replaced with a self appearance only a mother could love. The limousines replaced with the old banger you have in the parking lot. The fine wines and dining replaced with beer and microwave dinners. It is such a shame for a great man like you to fall so far. So that is why I want to offer you an opportunity like no other. I am rich beyond the wildest dreams of normal men, I am even richer than your father. I can give you back all the money that you have lost, so that once again you can live a life that these people could only dream of. All I ask in return is that you work at my side, as we form a new Money Inc to control the NWA's tag scene and make the belts our own. Are you in?"
Dibiase takes the mic and has a response.
Dibiase: "You know Alberto, that offer would have been very tempting a few weeks ago, when I was still a believer in the value of material goods. But now that I live as a man of the people, I now know that no amount of money buys happiness, and without it, I am happier than I have ever been. I can get in this ring, give these people a fight they will remember and then go home and get ready for the next fight, no longer do I have the distractions that wealth brings and I love it. So I don't want your money Alberto, because no matter how rich you are, without your money you would be nothing in this business!"
Del Rio: "I am disappointed to hear that Ted, I hope its not a decision you live to regret."
DEL RIO ATTACKS DIBIASE! He throws some punches and back Dibiase into the ropes, then goes for an irish whip. But Dibiase ducks underneath, charges and takes Del Rio down with a Clothesline! He signal for the Working Class Dream submission, but Del Rio has gotten some brass knuckles out of his pocket. Dibiase looks for it BUT DEL RIO SMACKS DIBIASE WITH THE KNUCKLES! Del Rio then locks in the Cross Armbreaker, refusing to break the hold as officials have to rush out to get him off Dibiase. Del Rio leaves with a smug smile on his face, as it looks like we have a working class vs upper class rivalry brewing between these two.
4 Way Scramble
James Storm vs Dolph Ziggler vs Bobby Roode w/EGO vs Bad News Barrett
A packed four way matchup saw 4 tremendous talents go at it, with the scramble rules allowing another man to enter once one has exited the ring. The match would break down into two battles, as Storm and Barrett brawled away on the outside, while Ziggler and Roode wrestled in the ring. EGO then got involved, holding Ziggler by his arms for a Lariat, But Ziggler escaped and Roode hat Rhodes! Ziggler then quickly took Sandow out with a Famouser, then nailed the Zig Zag on Roode. This allowed Ziggler to get the three count.
Winner- Dolph Ziggler
Post match Roode was not happy with his team mates, and said that maybe its time he went where the money is before leaving on his own. This may now make EGO a two person unit!
"The Man Beast" Rhino vs Sheamus
With these two men in a match, you know exactly what to expect, a wild brawl with lots of power and intensity on show. Rhino has been on a losing streak recently since losing his Heavyweight Title, while Sheamus had a win in his debut match, so Sheamus seemed the sharper of the two in this matchup. Rhino however did have Sheamus all setup for the Gore, only to eat a Brogue Kick to the face as he charged. Sheamus covered and the win was academic at that point.
Winner- Sheamus
Bray Wyatt w/Paul London vs Kyle Matthews w/Johnny Gargano
This match stems from last week where Bray Wyatt laid out Kyle Matthews during the grudge match between Johnny Gargano and Paul London, with Matthews now looking for revenge. And he was in no mood for a straight up wrestling match as he brought his chair into the ring with him and started smacking Wyatt with it, the chair shots proving to be the equalizer to the size difference. London quickly tried to get involved to even the odds, only for Gargano to also involve himself as this ended up breaking down into a wild brawl between the four men. When Wyatt knocked out the ref who was trying to break up a particularly heated exchange, the match lost any semblance of structure as at this point it has to be declared a no contest, with officials rushing out to break this thing up.
Winner- No Contest
The wild brawl continued post match as the rivalry between these two teams continues to grow. Next week these two teams will do battle in a tag team match for the first time, and it is sure to be just as chaotic as this match was.
Special Attraction, Champion vs Champion
Karl Anderson vs Randy Orton
Not just a battle of champions, but a battle of finishing moves as the RKO and the Gun Stun are very similar moves that have proven to be equally effective in bringing these men victories. But when you have two men with similar moves, this in turn means that if anyone knows how to reverse that move its them, so as a result we had a match filled with reversals from beginning to end. Combine that with the mat wrestling and brawling skills of both men, and you had a very even contest between two closely match competitors. The match of course broke down to who could hit their finisher first, with Orton nearly getting the RKO when reversing a Spinebuster attempt, then Anderson reversing that and nearly getting the Gun Stun himself. Orton then took Anderson down with his signature Clothesline and Powerslam combo as he begins to hear the voices and pounds the canvas with anger. RKO! 1-2-3, Orton manages to defeat the Heavyweight Champion and at least for now proves that he is the top champion in NWA Maximum!
Winner- Randy Orton
Post match the two exchange a handshake of respect, showing that they see themselves as equally strong representatives of NWA Maximum and all it stands for. Before they can celebrate however DEAN AMBROSE ENTERS FROM THE CROWD! He grabs a steel chair and smacks Orton in the back of the head with it! Anderson tries to fight back but Ambrose ducks under and he takes a chairshot as well! Ambrose dishes out a few more chair shots to both men, then takes the mic.
Ambrose: "So this is NWA Maximum. A Promotion of chaos, of anarchy and turmoil. I like chaos, so I'm going to enjoy it here. But who are these two champions? Randy Orton, the man only famous because his dad used to be somebody 30 years ago. I don't even know who my dad is and I'm a bigger star, so who gives a shit? Karl Anderson, you lost to this clown, that makes you even less of a man, so I'll equally enjoy tearing you apart. The age of Ambrose is about to begin!"
Ambrose leaves through the crowd having caused plenty of that chaos he likes to talk about. It will be interesting to see how Orton and Anderson respond to Ambrose, and indeed who Ambrose decides to target first in his apparent quest for gold!
Matt Hardy vs The Reject
Personal Demons comes out and joins the commentary team, saying very little while he is there but also stating he won't interfere in this match, as he wants to see if the man he used to call his brother has what it takes to face him in the ring. Hardy and The Reject put on a good match, with The Reject once again showing he is willing to die for the cause by putting his body on the line with high risk moves time and time again. Hardy on the other hand showed his anger as he just beat the hell out of his opponent, throwing a lot more fists than we are used to seeing from him while also hitting his signature moves with all the more impact. The Reject would takes things to another level by bring in a big ladder, placing it in the middle of the ring and climbing up, looking to hit a high flying move from the top of it onto Hardy. But Hardy got up and grabbed The Reject, climbing up the ladder. SUPERPLEX FROM THE TOP OF THE LADDER! Hardy then climbs the ladder himself. LEGDROP FROM THE LADDER! He covers The Reject and gets the 3 count, winning this one and completing the first part of his quest to face Personal Demons.
Winner- Matt Hardy
Post match Hardy goes after Personal Demons at the announce table, climbing over the table and throwing fists in his direction. He drives Demons into the ring and the two go back and forth, until The Reject sneaks a low blow as he recovers on the canvas. TWIST OF FATE BY DEMONS! Demons then climbs to the top of the ladder as The Reject kicks away at Hardy with stomps, and Shane Helms is nowhere to be seen to make the save. SWANTOM BOMB FROM THE TOP OF THE LADDER! Personal Demons has sent a message here, and we can all see what Shane Helms thinks of this situation, as he has chosen not to get involved. Next week Matt Hardy and Shane Helms will do battle, and if Hardy can win he will get the match with Personal Demons that he wishes!
Brock Lesnar makes his way to the ring, with the fans giving a mixed reaction, some cheering for this man's amazing athletic gifts, others booing who don't like his attitude. Lesnar has something to say.
Lesnar: "Last week, everybody saw me kick Brodus Clay's ass so hard he had to get out of New Jersey. There's not a man in wrestling who can stop me, I'm the baddest man on the planet and until somebody proves me wrong I am the man to beat! You wanna prove me wrong, get out here and face me!"
Lesnar waits for somebody to answer the challenge, but nobody seems to feel they are up to the challenge.
Lesnar: "Its as I thought, everybody in the back is a coward, there's no man thats half the man I am. That's everybody I'm talking about, including the NWA champs, you think your better than me cause you have belts, I could kick all your asses at the same time if I wanted to. But I don't want gold, I want action, so somebody better get out here and give me a fight right now!"
Lesnar waits, and then some familiar music plays AND SAMOA JOE ANSWERS THE CHALLENGE! The fans go nuts and oh man, this could be a match for the ages. Joe gets in the ring with mic in hand.
Joe: "So you say that you are the man Brock, that there isn't anyone capable of stopping you. Well Brock, you don't scare me, until a few months ago I was THE man in the NWA and I've faced challenges far greater than you in my career. I'll take you on in this ring Brock, because I am Samoa Joe, I am pro wrestling and....."
Before Joe can finish his sentence, LESNAR RUNS THROUGH JOE WITH A CLOTHESLINE! He picks up Joe and drives him into the corner with knees to the gut, BUT JOE FIGHTS BACK WITH SLAPS! ENZIGURI SEND LESNAR OUT OF THE RING! Lesnar looks frustrated by this as Joe asks him to bring it on. But Lesnar seems to have decided to leave the fight for another day as he goes back up the ramp, smiling to himself as Joe celebrating his mini-victory to end our show. One thing is for sure, I can't wait to see these two step into the ring together, next week we will hopefully see some progress towards that match taking place. See you then folks!
