Air Times: Sat 11PM, Sun 4AM
On coms was Michael Cole & Booker T and included Rene Young doing the interviews with So Cal Val on ring announcer duties as always. SNL air's on local TV in Chicago and on syndication elsewhere.
Featured William Regal, Jeremy Borash and Alex Riley as tonight's judges with the score-cards should they be needed. Time-Limit's for matches (bar the main-event) at 10 minutes.
The first episode of Saturday Night Live post Uncensored opens with So Cal Val alone in the ring. Val say's that she has been given an important directive by The Powers That Be, to be on standby to announce the man that will replace Triple H as the new Chief of Staff in Windy City Pro Wrestling. Val tap's her earpieces as if she's just been told something and announces that the new Chief of Staff is here now and ready to be unveiled.
Right then a revamped version of, "Bad, Bad, Man" by John Cena hit's the sound-speakers and out walks to an absolute wall of boo's, the NWA North American Heavyweight Champion John Cena, flanked by two unknown men. John Cena was the man who turned on Chris Masters at Uncensored and stopped The Masterpiece bringing home the World Championship to Chicago. In doing so Cena started a mini-riot at the United Center and the hate carried over ten-fold to tonight with Cena receiving white hot heat while sporting a stupid smug smirk on his face as he made his way to the ring with the two men shielding him from the baying fans at the barriers.
Cena snatched the mike off Val and laughing to himself, lapped up the boo's. After a while, Cena began by saying that no, he is not the new Chief of Staff, but that would be a fun idea. Cena said that he doesn't care about a scheduled new chief of staff announcement, blah-blah-blah, he's John Cena, a man who has been the top star in the big show and his time is now and he's taking that time! Cena say's that the Uncensored pay-per-view was a very successful night for him - first he got to obliterate Brian Cage to prove that he's the best wrestler on American soil today, and then he got to destroy Chris Masters dreams of becoming World Champion in the main-event - and by doing so destroy the hopes and dreams of all you Chicago piss-ant fans who lived vicariously through Chris Masters pursuit of the championship.
John says the fact he was forced to do this, was all the fault of you Chicago fans. You never took to John Cena, you never gave him a chance. So John Cena took what Chicago wrestling fans cared about most and flushed it down the toilet. Cena says you Chicago fans treated him like shit, so he flushed their dreams down the toilet in return!
Obviously, Chris Masters is here tonight and hearing this he's out from the back and extremely angry. The two men flanking Cena step forward in-front of Cena and these are large men. Cena say's how rude of him, he has not introduced his new security team, Todd Hanson - 265lbs of solid War Machine! And the 300lbs Beer City Bruiser, a man who's training philosophy is crushing beers and crushing heads!
Masters is not put off though and he charges the ring. Masters ducks a lariat from Hanson and sends him over the top rope with one of his own. Bruiser land's an axehandle to the back of Masters and sends him down. But Masters is back up and fights back with punches to the gut, Bruiser and Masters trade punches, while Hanson on the outside helps Cena safely out of the ring. Irish whip from Masters send's Bruiser tumbling into the turnbuckle but Hanson grabs him and manages to pull him through the ropes out of the way.
Cena heads to the back guarded by Hanson and Bruiser. Cena still with a mike says he expected nothing less than that from Masters, hence his new security team means that Masters can not get anywhere near him so he might as well forget it. Just then "One of a Kind" hit's over the sound-speakers and out walks a smiling Rob Van Dam to a surprised pop from the crowd!
RVD is wearing relaxed casual jeans and 420 T-Shirt but has a mike in hand. Van Dam say's yeah you guessed it, he's the new Chief of Staff in Windy City! RVD say's he will rule with a relaxed style like the cool cat he is, but it looks like something needs to be done here man - so his first judgement is to order an NWA North American Championship match between John Cena and Chris Masters for the next Fight Night special, on the 7th of June! Cena isn't too happy about this and storms off while Masters is loving this in the ring. Masters couldn't win the World Championship at Uncensored thanks to John Cena but perhaps he could win Cena's North American Championship instead!
The segment ends and SNL heads for a break, upon returning we go straight to the ring.
Body Magic (Ashton Vuitton & Eric St. Vaughn) defeated Sugar Dunkerton & Andrew Everett in an "un-signed showcase" tag team match in 6:42; debut match for both teams here who both went for cheers from the crowd, with both hoping to gain a contract. Sugar and Everett impressed with their individual ring work but Body Magic seemed the more cohesive team and that was enough for them to get the victory, Vuitton pinning Sugar with the BeauDT.
"The Legendary" Heath Slater rebounded from his loss to Curtis Axel at Uncensored to beat Marion Fontaine in 5:10 with the Smash Hit, DDT's being rather deadly tonight; While Heath Slater was celebrating his TV time got cut short as the show cut to a pre-recorded vignette from RYBACK! Ryback is shown beasting it in the gym to the rift of some heavy metal music, doing massive dead lifts, big bench presses and slamming weights about. The final words of the video are from Ryback who warns that he's coming to Chicago to "SMASH IT!". We cut back to the show and Slater is walking back through the curtain looking annoyed that his celebrations was cut short.
The Briscoes (Mark & Jay) w/Luke Harper & Serena Deeb defeat Kalisto & CJ Parker in 4:23 when Jay hit the Jay Driller on Parker, the #1 contenders to the tag team titles held by The Usos pick up more steam; Throughout the match Serena looked to her "kidnapper" Luke Harper on the outside for reassurance; During the match Sami Zayn cut's an insert promo saying he's not here tonight but if Luke Harper and The Family think this is over then they are dead wrong. Serena might not realise it just yet but she's been brainwashed by The Family and he won't let them get away with it.
Uhaa Nation, flanked by Sean Waltman comes out to do a ringside interview with Rene Young. Waltman say's that with Neville beating Daniel Bryan at Uncensored to win the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title, that this put's the Uhaa Nation in prime position to win a tournament for the vacant ZG Title - and then come after Neville for the big one. This brings out Neville, with his manager Paul Heyman by his side to the ramp. Heyman says that his client Neville, refuses to give up the ZG Title - he will keep both belts. Heyman also informs Waltman that not only does his client refuses to relinquish the ZG Title, but that he also will not defend the ZG belt against Uhaa. Heyman tells Waltman that Uhaa has to earn it! Waltman does not let Heyman get away with this though and says that the Uhaa Nation is undefeated in Windy City and deserves a shot at the ZG Title!
They are both interrupted though by the video screen, as we see RVD sat in an office in a recliner chair with his feet up on the table and his socks off. Rob says that while Heyman might be right that Neville can keep both belts if he wants to, he disagrees that Uhaa hasn't done enough to earn a ZG Championship match - and this match will be at Fight Night. Neville verses Uhaa Nation for the ZG Title! We head to a break on that announcement!
Ricochet beats Will Ferrara with a Benadryller (Fireman's carry dropped into a roundhouse kick) in 7:10 in another debutants match; Post-match Rockstar Spud comes out to the ramp and tells Ricochet that he was glad when he heard that Ricochet had signed for Windy City because that means he can finally get revenge on the man who cheated him out of the NWA World Junior Title 3 years ago in the summer of 2012 in Detroit. Ricochet gets all cocky and says he remembers the day well when he finally put some credibility to the World Junior title rather than it being held by a glorified midgit! Ricochet accepts the challenge and tells Spud that he's feeling good and says nobody can touch him in this ring - he tells Spud to send anyone he wants to face him on the next SNL but whoever it is they will be schooled by a new breed of athlete, Ricochet!
"Kharma" Kia Stevens & Gail Kim won by Countout over Paige & Sasha Banks in a woman's tag match in the main-event in 08:33; Womens Champion Paige and Kharma who did a double-turn at Uncensored fell into the grove of their new roles here. Paige was scrappy and chickenshit like in her approach and "The Boss" Sasha Banks played her support role well for the bad girls. Kharma meanwhile was being kept out of the ring as the heels focused on Gail Kim, who finally made a hot tag and Kharma cleared shop leading to Paige and Banks to head out of the ring and take the countout loss; Throughout the match Luke Harper was seen watching the match peeping from between the curtains on the ramp. Now he has Deeb under his spell, does he has his eye on the other women too!?
Backstage interview with Rene Young and Windy City Heavyweight Champion Kevin Steen; Young congratulates Steen for his successful title defense over Kofi Kingston at Uncensored. Steen doesn't seem all that happy about it though, saying he's still feeling the effects of that match now. Kofi gave him all he could handle and he had to dig down and throw the kitchen sink at him to keep his title, but at great cost to his body. Steen who seems slurry with his words, and possibly concussed after that big cannon ball to the outside against Kofi says maybe he should have listened to what Kofi was telling him. But regardless he won and he KO'd Kofi Kingston. Steen says that they should call him Mr.KO, Kevin Owens now! Kevin Steen died doing that cannonball to the outside, and now a new, more dangerous version has been born! Young seems worried about the state of Kevin's mental health by her body language as she backs away a little but says she was told that RVD wanted to have an important word with him...
Rob comes out to applause and tells Kevin... via doctors orders, he can't get phsyical for a couple of weeks due to the Uncensored match. Kevin seem's annoyed by this! But RVD say's he has a plan. He will match Kofi Kingston up against the man who shone so bright at uncensored, Fin Balor! And that match will happen at Fight Night and it will be a #1 contenders match for the Heavyweight Title - but that's not all Kevin...Owens...Mr K.O will be the special referee!; That wasn't all though as RVD announces that the next SNL he has signed a big match as Tyler Breeze will get a chance at the Cyber TV Title - it will be Tyler Breeze against Adam Cole for Cyber TV Title on the next show!
