- PRESENTS -
STREAMING LIVE ON iPPV
FROM THE DAVIS ARENA
IN LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY
ON JULY 11, 2015
Available through the Ohio Valley website or the WWN Live website.
Heavyweight champion: Elijah Burke
Tag Team champions: The Wild Boyz
TV champion: Chris Silvio
Women's champion: Mary Elizabeth Monroe
Dark match sees a 6 woman tag team match with Women's champion Mary Elizabeth Monroe, Rebel, and Ray Lynn defeating Taeler Hendrix, Jessie Belle, and Mandy Leon @ 5:08 when Monroe made Hendrix to the Rainbow Cross. A big follow up win for the new champion over the former champion, but the guaranteed rematch clause is there regardless for Hendrix, and every match with Monroe is a learning opportunity. As with any Ohio Valley iPPV, last minute tests of the stream are conducted here as any last minute glitches are hopefully fixed and worked out before going live.
Dean Hill | Gilbert Corsey | Scarlett Bordeaux |
Gilbert Corsey and Dean Hill welcome viewers to the broadcast. Tonight will be the biggest night in the careers of 3 men.
- Rudy Switchblade as he attempts to become the NWA North American champion John Cena in what will be his 1 and only opportunity at the title.
- TV champion Chris Silvio as he attempts to become OVW champion for the first time against Elijah Burke, but which Silvio will show up here?
- And the third will be the winner of The Nightmare Rumble. Who that man is though, we don't know and won't know until it's over. 30 men, over the top rope and to the floor. Luck of the draw will be everything.
All that and more as Scarlett is standing by with the introductions of the opening match.
Tag Team championship match
VS | ||||
Champion | Challenger | |||
The Wild Boyz | Country Jacked |
Tag Team champions The Wild Boyz defeat Country Jacked to retain the title @ 11:28 when Eddie Diamond made Adam Page tap to the Crossfire Crossface. A big win for the champs as they solidy their reign here. During the match, manager Josh Ashcraft attempted interference, but the referee caught it and ordered him to be barred to the back. The damage was seemingly done though as Country Jacked had the advantage on Bud Dwight until the hot tag came in to EFD. Diamond would eventually put the match away. Afterward Diamond takes the mic and says that they are the real deal and just like they proved here tonight, they will do against any and all tag teams that want to step up and try and take these Tag Team Titles away from them.
NWA World Women's championship match under Death Match rules
VS | ||
Champion Heidi Lovelace | Challenger Crazy Mary Dobson |
NWA World Women's champion Heidi Lovelace defeats Crazy Mary Dobson to retain the title @ 10:32 in a Death match, via pinfall after a frog splash off a ladder into thumb tacks. This match was bloody and brutal in a change from the usual women's fare. Dobson brings the IWA Mid South style in with weapons galore, but Lovelace shows up ready to step it up and match the intensity. Dobson took much of the punishment, even getting busted open when she is holding a ladder that Lovelace dropkicks into her face. Dobson would get the upperhand, eventually dropping a bag of thumbtacks down. She drags Lovelace over and goes for the split legged moonsault, but Lovelace moves. As Dobson lays in the tacks and sells the impact, Lovelace climbs the ladder that had been setup in another corner and comes off for the finish.
VS | ||||
Rump Thump | Ram Jam | Stuart Miles | Jade Dawson |
Stuart Miles & Jade Dawson defeat Rump Thump & Ram Jam @ 5:47 when Miles pinned Ram Jam after outside interference from an unknown man. The battle stemming from Ram Jam's upset win over The Pastor of Disaster and stealing of his $10,000 worth of Church donations sees a quick back and forth. The end comes with Rump Thump battling Dawson to get the referee's attention. A larger individual entered and took out Ram Jam with a clothesline behind the referee's back, allowing Miles to cover. The Congregation gets back their money and have seemingly grown in numbers in the process with this victory here tonight.
Heavyweight championship match
VS | ||
Champion Elijah Burke | Challenger Chris Silvio |
Heavyweight champion Elijah Burke defeats TV champion Chris Silvio to retain the title @ 13:05 via pinfall after the Elijah Experience. Silvio comes out with Mary Jane, full out Psychedelic Superstar mode. He gives Burke a good run, nearly picking up the win after hitting The Rocket Punch, but Burke kicked out just before the 3. Mary Jane at ringside plays no factor here as Burke makes a comeback, hitting The Elijah Experience, but only drawing a 2. Silvio kicks out this time. A second Elijah Experience however would prove to be enough. Burke retains and Silvio fails in his quest to become a dual title holder. As the celebration goes on though, the commentators wonder what the loss will do to Silvio's psyche? The other personality has shown in recent weeks and if it continues to grow, could spell trouble for Burke and the rest of the locker room.

Terry Boddie | Jim Cornette |
Terry Boddie: Big night so far here in the Davis Arena, with the biggest yet to come. Right now though, joining me is the Director of Authority Jim Cornette.
Jim Cornette: Thank you Terry. Ladies and gentlemen, I don't want to take up too much of your time right now. The Nightmare Rumble's coming up and then Cena vs Switchblade, I know you want to see the action. First though, mark the dates on your calendars. Saturday October 7, we return to iPPV with the second Rage In The Cage. Last year we saw the War Games, the big Jamin Olivencia vs Marcus Anthony Steel Cage match, King of The Valley. Expect all that and more this year. But then, perhaps the biggest night in Ohio Valley's history. Sunday October 25, NWA presents Fall Brawl. And no, not here in the Davis Arena, but at Freedom Hall. This will be something else.
Terry Boddie: Any matches signed yet for either?
Jim Cornette: Well it's a little too early for that Terry, but make sure not to miss Summerslam on July 26. That is the next NWA PPV, and we know it will be not only AJ Styles defending the World Title against a man with Personal Demons, Jeff Hardy, but also Jamin Olivencia against CM Punk in a highly anticipated rematch for the fans here in Louisville and to anybody following us that ordered Best In The World back in April. And you know-
Suddenly from the back, the fans start to cheer. 2 men have approached the ring and entered through the ropes. No strangers to Ohio Valley fans ...
Daniels | Daniel Puder |
Jim Cornette: This is unexpected, although not unwelcome. Former NWA World champion Christopher Daniels ... and ... Daniel Puder? I'm not sure I get what's going on here.
Daniels: I'll tell you what's going on Jim. It was just about 3 months ago at Best In The World that CM Punk tried to use his title win as a means to get me to wrestle 1 more match. He had threatened to walk out, and used that threat as a way to try and get me to say yes. I said no. I said no, and then he laid me out with the Go To Sleep. Now what happened after that, it happened, and it's none of my concern. What is of my concern is that for the past 3 months, I've remained silent. The disrespect shown towards me by CM Punk was not something I just brushed away. I lived with it, it ate away at me, and I had another match, perhaps the biggest of my career, as I wrestled with myself and the thought of what to do.
The fans chants of "1 more match, 1 more match" causing Daniels to pause.
Daniels: You hear that Punk? It's the same thing that South Beach fans chanted when you interrupted me that first show after Starrcade a year and a half ago. But I'm disappointed to say, there won't be "1 more match". CM Punk, you are a cancer in the world of wrestling, and you don't deserve "1 more match". You deserve 1 last fight.
The fans cheer that, though still unsure what is being said here.
Jim Cornette: Hold on here, am I understanding this right? You and CM Punk ... in a fight?
Daniels: No misunderstanding Jimmy. I don't want a wrestling match, I'm retired from wrestling. I want a fight! I don't care where and I don't care when! I just care who. CM Punk ... unsanctioned ... no rules ... 1 on 1 ... with Christopher Daniels!
The fans really cheer that. Months upon months looks to have finally gotten to The Fallen Angel.
Daniels: And that brings me to why this man is here right now with me. Some of you might recognize him as he had his earliest matches right here in Ohio Valley in 2005, Daniel Puder. CM Punk, like I've said, this isn't about a wrestling match, it's about a fight. And this man knows 2 things. Number 1, he knows Chicago, which means he knows you Punk. Windy City Wrestling Hall of Famer, former Windy City champion. They might as well rename the whole territory after this man. And number 2, he knows MMA. And with his help, I intend to negate everything that you've learned over the last year. I will make you tap before you even make your UFC debut.
Daniel Puder: Punk! This man!? He is the real deal! He will make ... you ... tap ... out! YEAH!
Jim Cornette: Alright there you have it. Huge news. CM Punk's challenge, forget it. Daniels wants an unsanctioned fight, and you know what? I intend to give it to him! We'll get your people in contact with Punk's people and see what we can do Chris. And hopefully, we can bring you that match ... or sorry, that fight ... sooner, over later.
The Nightmare Rumble
Entrant #1 Mike Hayes | Entrant #2 Ali Vaez |
1 of the biggest annual traditions in Ohio Valley has gotten bigger. What was last year a 20 man gauntlet battle royal is now 30! 30 entrants, determined by random draw, with numbers 1 & 2 starting off, and a new entrant every 2 minutes thereafter until all 30 have entered. Eliminations take place over the top rope and to the floor. The exception here is numbers 1 & 2 are not random. They were assigned by Director of Authority Jim Cornette after repeated problems on TV.
The 1 legged Iraqi war veteran Mike Hayes and Blacklist member Ali Vaez were at 1 time friends. Vaez suffered an injury, leaving him unable to compete for months. Through the words of Rudy Switchblade, Vaez was led to blame Hayes and the fans for his condition, and turned his back on him to join The Blacklist and help Switchblade earn the NWA North American Title shot he has tonight in the main event. Hayes is out first, followed by Vaez.
As the bell rings, Vaez is reluctant to get started. This leads to an irate Hayes exiting the ring through the ropes. He surprises Vaez from behind, battling him on the floor. Eventually Hayes throws Vaez into the ring and brings the action where it is meant to be. As Vaez gets up, he rakes the eyes. He hits the ropes and comes back for a neckbreaker, but Hayes counters with a back body drop. Vaez is down as Hayes brings him up and hammers with rights. He drops Vaez with a clothesline and goes down, looking to apply The Liberty Lock ...
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #3 Shiloh Jonze |
(2:00 - Hayes, Vaez, Jonze)
Fellow Blacklist member Shiloh Jonze races in and breaks up the attempt. Vaez gets a breather as Jonze kicks away on Hayes. Vaez calls the shots as they bring Hayes up and send him into the ropes, double clothesline. Jonze drops down and starts hammering away on Hayes on the mat. Vaez slides out under the bottom rope and yells for Scarlett to get off her chair. Vaez takes it and slides it into the ring. He tells Jonze to pick Hayes up ...
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #4 Paredyse |
(4:00 - Hayes, Vaez, Jonze, Paredyse)
Before Vaez can use the chair though, it's Paredyse! He races to the ring for the save as the next entrant. Vaez brings the chair back, but Paredyse kicks him, causing him to drop it. Jonze comes over for a right, but Paredyse blocks and sends 1 back. Together with Hayes, the 2 get the better of The Blacklist duo. Paredyse has Jonze by the ropes as Hayes works over Vaez in the corner. Jonze manages to get under Paredyse and flip him over, but he lands on the apron. Jonze hits Hayes from behind as Paredyse gets back in ...
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #5 Seleziya Sparx |
(6:00 - Hayes, Vaez, Jonze, Paredyse, Sparx)
An unexpected surprise here. Perhaps even more unexpected since it is a female competitor! The 4 wrestlers in the ring are not sure what to expect as Seleziya enters. Gilbert notes that this is not the first time she wrestled a male opponent in the ring. Jonze tells everybody to step aside. He approaches and enters his 2012 OMG mode. He does some hip thrusts but quickly takes a right hand to a pop. Vaez follows, but also takes a shot. Paredyse & Hayes have Jonze & Vaez and fire them in for a double clothesline from Seleziya ...
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #6 Deonta Davis |
(8:00 - Hayes, Vaez, Jonze, Paredyse, Sparx, Davis)
Half of The No Class Connection! Deonta Davis enters the ring behind Seleziya. She backs up into him and turns to quickly try and shot, but Davis blocks it. He has her arm and he tells her that this is a man's ring. Seleziya needs to know her place. With that, he forces her to her knees! Davis says that's right, but not long before she drives a forearm up between his legs. The low blow has Davis reeling as Seleziya stands. She grabs him and sends him over the top rope!
Deonta Davis eliminated by Seleziya Sparx, under 2 minutes in match
Meanwhile, elsewhere Paredyse battles Jonze and Hayes gets tripped by Vaez. As Seleziya turns, Vaez kicks her in the midsection. Fans boo as Vaez throws Seleziya over the top rope and to the floor.
Seleziya Sparx eliminated by Ali Vaez, 2-4 minutes in match
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #7 Aaron Sky |
(10:00 - Hayes, Vaez, Jonze, Paredyse, Sky)
In next is Aaron Sky, immediately helping Jonze & Vaez. The 3 on 2 advantage continues momentarily until a mistake by Sky. He heads to the apron and springboards off the top rope as Vaez holds Hayes for him. The problem is that Hayes moves! Sky hits Vaez with a dropkick. As Sky gets up, Hayes kicks him in the midsection and delivers a DDT. As Hayes pops up, Vaez charges, but Hayes is at the ropes and manages to duck and pull down the top rope in the process.
Ali Vaez eliminated by Mike Hayes, 10-12 minutes in match
Hayes eliminates Vaez! But ever the poor sport, Vaez is right back in, focusing his attack on the leg. If he's gone, he's going to make sure Hayes soon joins him. Vaez even removes the prosthetic leg and then hits Paredyse from behind with it as he brawls with Jonze. Vaez then gets on Hayes' back with a camel clutch, choking him with the prosthetic!
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #8 Robbie Walker |
(12:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Sky, Walker)
Robbie Walker! The fan favorite races to the ring for the save. Jonze takes a dropkick. Sky takes a bodyslam. Vaez gets up though and hits him in the midsection with the prosthetic. With Walker bent over, Vaez hits him across the back with it. Get Vaez the hell out of the ring! He finally throws down the leg and says good riddence, but the damage may be done. The referees get in the ring and look to give Hayes back the leg, but Vaez comes back in! He pushes the referee aside and starts kicking the good leg of Hayes. He again leaves, this time for good. The other 4 are starting to recuperate, but Hayes is in a bad way here.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #9 Tracy Smothers |
(14:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Sky, Walker, Smothers)
Dirty South! Another surprise entrant. Last seen in January, forced to leave Ohio Valley after a loss to Heidi Lovelace. Smothers gets in the ring and instead of fighting, "Staying Alive" by The Bee Gees hits. Smothers begins his old school F.B.I. dance routine. The others just watch on as Smothers gets the crowd going, but enough is enough. Walker blasts Smothers with a superkick. Smothers goes down. Sky jumps former tag team partner Walker, as Jonze attacks Hayes in the corner. Smothers gets up and it's smooth sailing as Paredyse grabs him.
Tracy Smothers eliminated by Paredyse, under 2 minutes in match
Paredyse turns his attention back to Jonze, trying to give Hayes some more recovery time.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #10 Randy Terrez |
(16:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Sky, Walker, Terrez)
Randy Terrez immediately turns his attention to Sky. He sends him to the ropes and drops down, Sky running into a dropkick by Walker. Terrez heads up top with Sky down and connects with the corkscrew moonsault! High risk in this type of match, but it pays off. Terrez brings Sky up and to the ropes, dumping him outside.
Aaron Sky eliminated by Randy Terrez, 6-8 minutes in match
Now Jonze takes a right from Paredyse, turning into a right from Walker, turning into a right from Terrez. Hayes is now back into this and joins in on the fun. Shiloh Jonze is in big trouble here as he is the victim of a 4 on 1.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #11 Elvis Pridemoore |
(18:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Walker, Terrez, Pridemoore)
Not quite the save that 1 would hope for, but it is something. Elvis enters as Walker goes right after him in revenge for the websclusive this past Wednesday. Hayes meanwhile is battling Jonze as Paredyse and Terrez test each other out. Paredyse thinks he eliminates Terrez, but he lands on the apron. Paredyse meanwhile turns his attention to Elvis in the corner. Terrez comes back in and goes after Jonze as he battles Hayes.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #12 Raul Lamotta |
(20:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Walker, Terrez, Pridemoore, Lamotta)
The Rudo! And his target is immediately Terrez. He slides in undetected and jumps him from behind. He slams Terrez face first into the corner and gets under him. Jonze comes over to help out with Hayes down. Walker though makes the save as Paredyse and Elvis continue their brawl. Walker goes for a superkick, but Jonze catches it. He spins Walker and clotheslines him down to the mat. Hayes gets up and goes after Lamotta, joining Terrez in a double team.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #13 Dapper Dan |
(22:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Walker, Terrez, Pridemoore, Lamotta, Dapper)
The ring is starting to fill up. Dapper Dan brings the current total up to 8 and immediately targets Hayes, and why not? He's been in the longest and is now a walking target. Terrez continues his battle with Lamotta, Paredyse with Elvis, and Walker with Jonze. Not for long though. Dapper Dan hits a German Suplex on Hayes. He grabs Paredyse from behind, hitting him with a German. Elvis thanks him, but Dan turns him and blasts him with a German as well. It is Ohio Vallley's own suplex city, and Dapper Dan is the mayor. He is cleaning house.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #14 The Damaja |
(24:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Walker, Terrez, Pridemoore, Lamotta, Dapper, Damaja)
THE DAMAJA! The Davis Arena explodes at this surprise entrant! Last seen here in 2007, he wastes no time picking up where he left off. Lamotta goes after him, but Damaja picks him up and hits the Brain Damage! Jonze tries to take advantage but Damaja wraps his hands around the throat, lifts him into a chokebomb, Brain Damage! Terrez meanwhile takes the German Suplex. Jonze gets the Brain Damage. And with that, the match comes down to Damaja and Dapper Dan. The biggest moment in Dan's career so far as he could make a big impact by taking out the OVW legend. The 2 start to battle as the other 7 lay and stagger off to the side. Damaja goes for the Brain Damage, but Dan blocks and gets behind. The German! NO! Damaja sweeps a leg back with a reverse low blow kick.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #15 Leon Shelly |
(26:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Walker, Terrez, Pridemoore, Lamotta, Dapper, Damaja, Shelly)
Damaja hooks Dapper Dan up for the chokebomb, but Leon Shelly makes the save. Or mistake. Dan staggers back as Damaja turns and immediately wraps his hands around the throat, Brain Damage! Shelly gets up at the ropes and takes a clothesline, sending him outside and ending his all too brief stay.
Leon Shelly by The Damaja, under 2 minutes in match
As the other wrestlers are coming around, Lamotta strikes. Terrez gets sent into the ropes, sliding between his legs. As Lamotta turns, Terrez charges back at him. Lamotta though steps to the side and gets the back of the head, sending Terrez over the top and to the floor.
Randy Terrez by Raul Lamotta, 10-12 minutes in match
8 wrestlers remain. Dapper Dan hits Damaja from behind and pushes him up against the ropes. Paredyse shifts his attention to Lamotta, Hayes battles Elvis, and Walker battles Jonze.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #16 Cliff Compton |
(28:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Walker, Pridemoore, Lamotta, Dapper, Damaja, Compton)
Mr. 1859! Things are picking up now. Compton waits outside the ring though, taking his time. He picks his spot as he waits for an opportunistic moment. Damaja manages to get Dapper Dan up against the ropes, leading to Compton quickly sliding in. From behind, he lifts Damaja up and dumps him over the top rope and to the floor.
The Damaja by Cliff Compton, 4-6 minutes in match
Elsewhere in the match as fans boo. Jonze & Pridemoore work together on Hayes. A double DDT is followed by a double high 5. But the foolish Elvis turns his back on Jonze. When he turns back around, Jonze rakes the eyes, grabs him by the back of the head and sends him on a 1 way ticket to the arena floor.
Elvis Pridemoore by Shiloh Jonze, 10-12 minutes in match
The ring filters down to 7 wrestlers, but not for long as the countdown begins for an 8th to join them.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #17 Ryan Howe |
(30:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Walker, Lamotta, Dapper, Compton, Howe)
The Rockstar is out, no guitar tonight though as it is all business. He slides under the bottom rope and immediately goes after Jonze. As that goes on, Dapper Dan picks his spot by attacking the downed Hayes. Compton battles Paredyse. Walker battles Lamotta. Howe drops Jonze to the mat and goes over to his occasional partner Paredyse. He gets under Compton, and together they get Mr. 1859 in a dangerous situation. He is up in the corner, hanging onto the ropes for dear life. Fortunately for him, Dapper Dan gets in to make the save.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #18 The Mexicutioner |
(32:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Walker, Lamotta, Dapper, Compton, Howe, Mexicutioner)
Business is picking up as the Rhino like Mexicutioner is out from the back. He has his sights set on 1 wrestler here, that being Rudo Raul Lamotta. And he knows it! He instantly begs off as Mexicutioner gets in the ring, but he has none of it. A couple rights and Lamotta gets sent into the ropes ... spear! Lamotta gets up at the ropes and takes a clothesline out and over to the floor, ending his night.
Raul Lamotta by The Mexicutioner, 12-14 minutes in match
Dapper Dan immediately axehandles Mexicutioner from behind and gives a couple shots to the back. He hooks in for the German Suplex, but Mexicutioner hits a back elbow. A second backs Dan off. Mexicutioner charges, but Dan ducks. He turns around and ... spear! Dapper Dan gets up as Mexicutioner grabs him by the back of the head and deposites him over the top and to the floor.
Dapper Dan by The Mexicutioner, 10-12 minutes in match
And Dapper Dan hits hard, clutching his wrist after the fall. Meanwhile as that was going on, Howe battled it out with Walker. Trying for the Whammy Bar, Walker got to the ropes to stay upright, but that decision would work against him. Grabbing the ropes as Howe tried to bring him to the mat, The Rockstar let go, sending Walker up. Using his own momentum against him, Howe then dumped Walker out to the floor.
Robbie Walker by Ryan Howe, 20-22 minutes in match
Impressive performance though by Walker, even if no eliminations on the night, lasting 20+ minutes.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #19 Chase Owens |
(34:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Compton, Howe, Mexicutioner, Owens)
The once Crown Jewel of The East is in next. Owens could easily pick his spot, but wastes no time going after anybody and everybody in there. He settles into Shiloh Jonze, continuing that rivalry. Together with Hayes, the 2 pinball Jonze around with right hands before trying together to eliminate him. Compton however was in for the save. Elsewhere, Howe and Paredyse work together to try and eliminate The Mexicutioner, but he is able to fend them off as his unique mix of size, speed, and strength makes it difficult to get him out to the floor.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #20 Colt Cabana |
(36:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Compton, Howe, Mexicutioner, Owens, Cabana)
Boom Boom heads in and while no immediate interaction, it isn't long before he comes face to face with former tag team partner Cliff Compton. The 2 had an amicable split and Compton suggests they work together here. Cabana likes that and together they turn their attention to trying to eliminate Howe, but Compton quickly shows his true colors when he abandons the effort and takes a breather instead. Paredyse is in for the save. Elsewhere Owens goes for the Roaring Elbow on Mexicutioner. The blow backs him up into the ropes, but Owens can't lift him over.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #21 Jamin Olivencia |
(38:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Compton, Howe, Mexicutioner, Owens, Cabana, Olivencia)
Perhaps the odds on favorite to win! The multi time former OVW champion is out as fans explode. This could very well be his night! Before he can even enter though, from behind ... he gets grabbed and turned ... BLASTED over the head with a guitar! Jeff Jarrett! Olivencia has been laid out by the Global Force owner here. He stands over him and tells him he just found out the hard way that you don't turn down the King of The Mountain. Referees help Olivencia up, but he is adamant about continuing. He gets to the ring and enters, but Compton is there to take advantage, immediately throwing him out to the floor.
Jamin Olivencia by Cliff Compton, under 2 minutes in match
This has to be considered a game changer. Olivencia might be playing a game he can't win, a game that continues at Summerslam against CM Punk. Cabana is less than impressed by his once partner's actions and leans over to check on Olivencia, but Compton tries taking advantage of him! Cabana breaks free, as Compton tries to pass it off as a joke or something. Hayes and Paredyse are quickly in to send them on their separate ways.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #22 Jay Bradley |
(40:00 - Hayes, Jonze, Paredyse, Compton, Howe, Mexicutioner, Owens, Cabana, Bradley)
The Boomstick has arrived! Jay Bradley, last year's winner, and at #22, could be about to do it again! He gets in and starts to clean house. Picking up on his rivalry with The Blacklist, he levels Shiloh Jonze with the Boomstick. The lariat flattens him, allowing Bradley to pick him up and send him over the top and to the floor with ease, ending a very long night for Jonze with nothing to show.
Shiloh Jonze by Jay Bradley, 38-40 minutes in match
Meanwhile Hayes continues his battle with Compton, trying to avoid elimination. Cabana battles Paredyse. Owens works over Howe. This leaves Bradley to contend with The Mexicutioner, a battle of 2 big men, although bigger are yet to come.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #23 Jeremiah Plunkett |
(42:00 - Hayes, Paredyse, Compton, Howe, Mexicutioner, Owens, Cabana, Bradley, Plunkett)
The leader of the all but abandoned East is out next, and he immediately targets Chase Owens. Fans boo as Plunkett cheap shots him from behind, and has a right hand for Paredyse as well. Plunkett dismissed Owens from The East with a cowardly attack and now might do the same tonight if he can eliminate him from the match. Howe however gets in to make the save. Compton meanwhile has Hayes when Cabana comes from behind.
Cliff Compton by Colt Cabana, 14-16 minutes in match
Compton turns to see who it was and is surprised. Cabana just say every man for himself as a pissed off Compton starts kicking and putting up a fuss outside the ring. Fans get on his case as he tells them to shutup! Makes no difference though as to his status here.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #24 Melvin Maximus |
(44:00 - Hayes, Paredyse, Howe, Mexicutioner, Owens, Cabana, Bradley, Plunkett, Maximus)
The 8 wrestlers prepare for the worst. Josh Ashcraft leads out 350 pounds, former Kentucky Muscle winner, Mr. Marvelous Melvin Maximus. This spells trouble for everybody here and to come that he drew a late number like 24. Several wrestlers go at him, but Maximus just shoves them off. Howe gets up and charges, but the clothesline has no effect. Maximus just grabs him and with ease tosses him over the top rope and to the floor.
Ryan Howe by Melvin Maximus, 14-16 minutes in match
Hayes gets in under Maximus, but he shoves him off. Paredyse is quickly in as he jumps on Maximus' back. The big man just flips Paredyse over and slams him down to the mat. As Paredyse gets up, Maximus gorilla presses him over his head and walks to the ropes, dropping him out to the floor.
Paredyse by Melvin Maximus, 40-42 minutes in match
An impressive outing by Paredyse, but at 40+, how much longer could he have gone here? Maximus is cleaning house.
5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Entrant #25 Adam Revolver |
(46:00 - Hayes, Mexicutioner, Owens, Cabana, Bradley, Plunkett, Maximus, Revolver)
Out next is a returning Adam Revolver. Last seen a year ago here in a loser leaves town match, that stipulation is now past due. Revolver's return is less than celebratory though as he waits outside the ring, wanting no part of the carnage going on. The referees tell him to get in, but he throws it in their faces by telling them to get in there. Meanwhile Mexicutioner actually gets something going against Maximus. He has him rocked and readies for the spear. As he charges though, Maximus side steps and gives the extra push to send Mexicutioner charging over the top.
The Mexicutioner by Melvin Maximus, 14-16 minutes in match
The field is lowering by the minute here. Plunkett takes the Revolver approach and waits to the side. Hayes and Owens try ousting Maximus, but just get their heads butted for their troubles. Cabana takes up the cause next, but ends up taking a headbutt. Maximus then grabs him and like nothing, throws him over the top and to the floor.
Colt Cabana by Melvin Maximus, 10-12 minutes in match
Maximus now has 4 eliminations with no signs of slowing down. Outside the ring though, Bradley has exited through the ropes and sneaks up on Revolver. He surprises him and throws him into the ring.

Entrant #26 Rob Conway |
(48:00 - Hayes, Owens, Bradley, Plunkett, Maximus, Revolver, Conway)
Maybe now somebody that can stand up to Maximus! The Ironman is out! He might be at less than 100% courtesy of the attack by Maximus on TV 10 days ago, but he has purpose. He goes after Maximus as fans cheer, but it isn't long before he meets the same fate as the others. Bradley tries for a save, but just gets taken down. Together though and they move the mountain. Fans cheer as Maximus goes up, teetering on the top rope, but he fights his way free. Meanwhile Owens and Plunkett brawl, and Hayes has Revolver to deal with.

Entrant #27 Dylan Bostic |
(50:00 - Hayes, Owens, Bradley, Plunkett, Maximus, Revolver, Conway, Bostic)
Lucky #27, it's Dylan Bostic, and he has shown in recent weeks that he can handle a lot of punishment from Flash Flanagan & a kendo stick. Can he handle the 7 men in the ring though? He joins in on the assist of Maximus. He gets in some offense, but in going for a codebreaker, Maximus stays upright to send Bostic crashing to the mat. Meanwhile Conway hits him from behind, as Bradley hits Conway from behind. The other battles continue with Plunkett nearly disposing of Owens, but not following through as Owens lands on the apron and heads back inside. Revolver has Hayes at the ropes until a save from Bostic.

Entrant #28 Eric Locker |
(52:00 - Hayes, Owens, Bradley, Plunkett, Maximus, Revolver, Conway, Bostic, Locker)
The third and final Blacklist member in the match, the 2014 Future Talent Showcase winner, Eric Locker. He sets his sights onto Bradley and immediately gets him up against the ropes in an effort to eliminate him. Maximus in the ring manages to get the bearhug on Conway. He squeezes the life out of The Ironman, but there are no submissions here. That is both good and bad as there is no danger of defeat directly from the hold, but also bad as nobody can stop 4M. The 9 wrestlers continue to battle.

Entrant #29 The Body Guy |
(54:00 - Hayes, Owens, Bradley, Plunkett, Maximus, Revolver, Conway, Bostic, Locker, Body Guy)
The fans boo as out comes the self loving Body Guy. Could he win this off luck of the draw?! He is joined at ringside by Big Jon, which could end up being the difference maker. He forces the talent to stop what they're doing so that he can take center stage. He disrobes and starts to do the Rick Rude style hip swivel. The wrestlers and fans alike laugh and simultaneously gag in disgust. When he stops, the talent charges with an 8 on 1 beatdown. Maximus watches, finally stepping in to help clear the way. Body Guy thanks his 1 time body guard for the save, but Maximus shows his true colors by clotheslining him to a pop from fans. He then gorilla presses him up and approaches the ropes when Big Jon steps up to the apron. Maximus stops and drops Body Guy behind him instead. Maximus & Jon have a staredown, but #30's arrival interrupts.

Entrant #30 Marcus Anthony |
(56:00 - Hayes, Owens, Bradley, Plunkett, Maximus, Revolver, Conway, Bostic, Locker, Body Guy, Anthony)
1 man's luck is 10 other's misfortune here. The longest reigning OVW champion in history heads down and this could be the end. Anthony enters as Maximus readies for the showdown. These 2 have a history and simply do not like each other. As they approach, Body Guy pops up between them. Anthony grabs him and with ease throws him, sending him into the ropes with such force that he goes over the top and to the floor.
The Body Guy by Marcus Anthony, 2-4 minutes in match
Anthony and Maximus start to duke it out. The other wrestlers stay clear and instead opt to battle with themselves. Bostic pairs off with Plunkett, Owens with Revolver, Bradley with Locker, and that leaves Hayes and Conway. Conway is reluctant but Hayes is telling him to just bring it. Nobody can deny the heart of the U.S. army vet after this match if they ever could have before. Conway goes in and tries to get Hayes over the top rope. Anthony meanwhile gets lifted up by Maximus until Bradley breaks it up. Plunkett has Bostic against the ropes and backs up to charge with a running clothesline. Owens though grabs Plunkett from behind and throws him out!
Jeremiah Plunkett by Chase Owens, 16-18 minutes in match
Plunkett is beside himself on the floor! He has been eliminated by his once errand boy in The East. Bet he is regretting the day he turned his back on the top junior heavyweight now. No thanks though as Bostic comes behind Owens and hits him with the codebreaker, double knees to the back. Revolver steps in and starts kicking at both talents. Conway continues trying to get Hayes up and over without success, but with tremendous effort. Bradley sets up for the Boomstick on Maximus and connects with little impact. He charges again but Locker intercepts with a shoulderblock. The force sends Bradley into the ropes, as Locker steps in and lifts him up and over.
Jay Bradley by Eric Locker, 18-20 minutes in match
Elsewhere, Revolver gets cocky and picks up Owens and leans him against the ropes. He gets Bostic up. He pushes them up and tries to eliminate both at the same time! But it fails as Owens rakes the eyes. Bostic delivers a right. Revolver backs up as Owens goes for the Roaring Elbow, but Revolver ducks and the discus elbow instead hits Conway behind him. Bostic grabs Revolver to throw him out, but Revolver manages to reverse it and use Bostic's own momentum against himself by sending him out.
Dylan Bostic by Adam Revolver, 10-12 minutes in match
Owens meanwhile tries to get Conway up and capitalize on the elbow hitting. He has Conway backed up into the ropes and goes for a second Roaring Elbow. Conway however ducks and lifts Owens up into a back body drop. Owens lands on the apron though and grabs Conway from behind to try and bring him over. Conway though grabs Owens by the head and drops down to hang him up on the top rope and then drop him to the floor.
Chase Owens by Rob Conway, 26-28 minutes in match
The ring pairs off. Conway gets backs up with Anthony and Hayes, opposite Maximus, Locker, and Revolver. Conway goes at Revolver, Anthony with Maximus again, while Hayes goes at Locker. The commentators put over Hayes, entering #1, lasting over an hour now. Almost like clockwork, from the back comes Ali Vaez! The new Blacklist member gets on the apron to get the attention of Hayes. Instead he gets decked off by a right, but fellow Blacklist member Locker is there to lift him up. Vaez then grabs Hayes and helps pull him out.
Michael Hayes by Eric Locker (& Ali Vaez), 60-62 minutes in match
An inspiring performance by Hayes ends with the backstabber Vaez, eliminated 3/4 of an hour ago, coming back out for revenge. Locker backs up into the Crimson Omen from Anthony! The full nelson whips him around before releasing. Anthony hooks him up and lifts Locker into the suplex, driving him down with the Gamma Punch! Locker gets up as Anthony grabs him to send him over and to the floor.
Eric Locker by Marcus Anthony, 8-10 minutes in match
And with that, the match is down to 4. Hayes gets a standing ovation as referees help him on the floor. Inside, it's Anthony. It's Conway. It's Maximus. It's Revolver. 1 of these 4 will win the Nightmare Rumble! Revolver charges at Anthony, Maximus takes on Conway. Revolver shows some intensity, but it might not be the smartest move. Anthony reverses him into the corner and drives a shoulder to the midsection. Maximus meanwhile gets Conway against the ropes, but Anthony charges in with an axehandle. He goes to send Maximus into the ropes, but he reverses it and the 2 meet with a shoulderblock. Anthony runs in, but Maximus catches him in the bearhug. He is squeezing the life out of him!
Elsewhere, Revolver charges at Conway, but he moves. Revolver steps up to the middle rope and springboards back into a stunner on Conway. Fans boo as Revolver stands up and wastes time arguing with fans. He has been gone for a year, but has made a big impact in this return. Revolver grabs Conway and tries to easily throw him out but Conway lands on the apron and slides back in. Revolver kicks him and tries to push him out. Maximus finally releases Anthony and pushes him against the ropes. Revolver picks up Conway, but Conway hooks a headscissors. Revolver goes to push him out but Conway pulls him over with him. They both tumble out.
Adam Revolver by Rob Conway, 18-20 minutes in match
Conway holds onto the top rope though! Revolver hits as Conway gets back in. Maximus is at the ropes and pushing Anthony over. Conway however is right there. He comes from behind them and starts to lift!
Marcus Anthony by Melvin Maximus, 8-10 minutes in match
Anthony ends up dropping down and hitting the floor. Maximus is going out! Maximus gets a thumb to the eye though. Conway backs up as Maximus gets his composure. Conway backs up as Maximus charges! Conway continues backing up and drops down! He pulls the top rope down with him and Maximus flies over the top rope and to the floor!
Rob Conway wins the Nightmare Rumble @ 1:06:14, last eliminating Melvin Maximus.
Conway has won the match. The Ironman reigns supreme on this night! He has outlasted 29 other wrestlers here, and the commentators mention that this has to bring his quest full circle. He has been in search of a chance at the NWA World Heavyweight championship, and this performance combined with a stellar win-loss record in 2015 must put him near the top. Could we see Rob Conway vs AJ Styles at Fall Brawl in 3 months, at Freedom Hall? Dean adds that 3 months is a long time. Gilbert meanwhile puts over the performance of Mike Hayes. Entering at #1, lasting over an hour. He has impressed in Ohio Valley this year, maybe this will finally get him some recognition outside the area, thanks to the iPPV streaming into "millions of homes across the world".
Backstage Interview
Terry Boddie | John Cena |
Backstage, The Fan Advocate Terry Boddie is joined by NWA North American champion John Cena. This is your chance to give the fans of Ohio Valley a response to the statements made by Rudy Switchblade over the last month.
John Cena: "Tonight is serious business. I'm not going to cut an old school rap like last time. To him, this is about respect and this right here (the NWA North American Title). To me, this is personal. This has nothing to do with me being the champion, and it has everything to do with who I am. What I stand for! Rudy Switchblade, first you lay me out. That, ok, I can handle it. But then you went and got into my personal affairs in Bowling Green. I'm nowhere near the event, but I guess that's nothing new with you cause you seem to be all talk when I'm not around or have strength in numbers. THAT really pissed me off. And then I see this clip of you. Saying I'm just a name. The only reason I'm standing here is because I was given a chance, while you had to work your way up. No, that's where you're wrong. The only reason I'm standing here today is because I work my ass off to stay here! You think just because I got to the top fast, it ain't easy staying here? I dare you to walk a mile in my shoes Switchblade, because you'll see that life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I work just as hard as every damn wrestler in that locker room to be where I'm at today. Tonight, it's you who'll find out my sacrifice. My blood! My sweat! And my tears! Tonight, you're not taking on John Cena, the wrestler. You're taking on John Cena, the man. THE CHAMP! ... IS ... HERE! Let's do this!"
NWA North American Title match

Champion John Cena | Challenger Rudy Switchblade |
Among the more anticipated title matches in Ohio Valley's recent history since joining the NWA in early 2014, alongside Jamin Olivencia vs Marcus Anthony at Rage In The Cage and Olivencia vs CM Punk at Best In The World. Since Starrcade and a Hell In A Cell victory over Jay Bradley that Switchblade claims stole the show over Cena's Extreme rules victory over Bully Ray on the same show, Switchblade called out Cena and put him down. Finally the 2 crossed paths at the June Saturday Night Special with Switchblade hitting the RudyKO on Cena and laying him out. Tonight is Cena's chance at revenge in what might be his toughest test to date. Tonight is Switchblade's chance to become a nationally recognized champion, and he will only get 1 chance to do it.
With both wrestlers introduced, the bell sounds and Switchblade immediately exits the ring. Cena is ready to go but Switchblade wants to control the pacing here. He gets back in and the 2 lock up. Cena shoves Switchblade back and does the "you can't see me" bit. Switchblade gets up and they lock up again with Cena overpowering him into the corner. The referee wants a break and Cena gives it, but Switchblade kicks him. He reverses Cena into the corner and lays down a hard chop. A second chop follows. Switchblade Irish whips Cena across and charges in but Cena moves. Switchblade hits the turnbuckle and rebounds into a hip toss. He pops up into a bodyslam and it's back out to the floor for another breather. Switchblade's game plan is not working early.
He gets back in with Cena even offering to hold the ropes open to speed up the process. Switchblade refuses and gets in on his own. They lock up and Switchblade gets a drop down toe hold. He moves from there to a front facelock as he looks to control on the ground. Cena tries to free himself, ending up in a waistlock. They stand with Cena trying to force apart the grip of Switchblade, but instead reverses it. Switchblade with a back elbow to free himself. He lands a couple of right hands as he settles in. He sends Cena into the ropes and catches him with a clothesline that puts him down. Switchblade immediately covers but only gets a 2. Not resting on that, Switchblade gets Cena popping up and sends him into the ropes again, looking for a hiptoss. Cena however blocks it. He lifts Switchblade up into a fireman's carry, Attitude Adjustment!
Switchblade elbows his way free and drops behind Cena, pushing him into the ropes. Cena bounces back with a clothesline of his own. Switchblade gets up with Cena coming off the ropes with a 1 handed bulldog. Cena covers, but only gets a 2 count. He tries flipping Switchblade to get the STFU, but he gets the ropes so Cena backs off. Switchblade goes to the apron to get up as Cena goes over and grabs him. Switchblade though drops down and drops Cena neck first on the top rope. Switchblade readies as Cena gets back up and jumps up to springboard off the top rope into a dropkick and another cover, another 2 count. As they stand, Switchblade hooks up for a suplex. Cena blocks it though and lifts up into a delayed vertical suplex, crashing down hard. Switchblade gets up into a DDT.
Cena stands over Switchblade middle of the ring, and it's 5 knuckle shuffle time. He does the "you can't see me" again, hits the ropes, dusts off the knuckles and hits the fist drop. He covers, getting a 2. Now he goes for the STFU, and this time it's on. Switchblade may have to tap here. Cena wrenches it on, but Switchblade fights. He crawls and claws his way to the ropes. He reaches up and ... Cena lets go, pulling him back mid ring, reapplying! Switchblade tries to break free. Cena yells to tap. Switchblade raises the arm but instead pushes up and inches to the ropes. Finally he gets there, forcing the break, but the damage may be done. Switchblade gets up at the ropes as Cena grabs him, pulling him out and hits sitout powerbomb. Could that be it?!

Switchblade gets a shoulder up. Cena questions it, but goes on. He gets up, picking Switchblade up. He bodyslams him to the mat. Cena pulls Switchblade mid ring again for another 5 knuckle shuffle. The fans aren't as enthused the second go around. Cena does the "you can't see me" to less reaction as he hits the ropes, but Switchblade does a kip up! Cena comes back as Switchblade is on his feet unbeknownst to him. He leaps, and Rudy-KO! Switchblade catches Cena with the lights out move and covers ...

Cena gets a shoulder up, barely! Both are down though and with that 1 move, Cena has been deflated. They are slow to get up with Cena going for a right, but Switchblade blocking and hitting back. He fires more. Switchblade has Cena now. He backs him to the ropes, firing him across, back body drop. Cena gets up and swings but Switchblade ducks and catches him in an atomic drop. As Cena is reeling, Switchblade goes up to the middle rope. Cena backs up into him as Switchblade jumps off with a bulldog and a cover, 2 count. Switchblade picks Cena up and a side suplex down on the knee. Switchblade goes to the legs and tries to turn Cena to the Boston Crab. Cena is still too strong, but Switchblade manages to turn him. The submission is applied and Cena fights for the ropes. Switchblade lets up, walks them back to mid ring, sitting back. Cena's face says it all. Eventually though he powers free.
As Cena gets up, Switchblade goes for the Rudy-KO! Cena blocks it though by shoving Switchblade to the ropes. He comes back for a clothesline, but Cena ducks and Switchblade takes out the ref! He turns back into Cena lifting him into a fireman's carry, Attitude Adjustment! No! As Cena flips him, Switchblade lands on his feet and quickly reverses it into a second Rudy-KO! Cena goes down. Switchblade crawls into a cover, but there is no referee. Some fans chant out the 3, but it doesn't matter. Switchblade notices the ref down. He gets up and goes to revive him. As this goes on, The Blacklist appear! Ali Vaez is out with Shiloh Jonze and Eric Locker, directing traffic. Vaez grabs a chair and slides it in, yelling to use it! In a surprise turn of events though, Switchblade says no!
Vaez is confused by this. Switchblade kicks it back out and shakes his head. Vaez though slides it back in, but Switchblade ignores it. He gets Cena up and the commentators give him credit. If he's going to win this, he wants to do it by being the better man. Vaez is insistent on using it though, so much so that Switchblade is slow to capitalize. Suddenly Cena gets a second wind, taking advantage as he lifts Switchblade up onto his shoulders. Attitude Adjustment onto the chair! AA on the steel chair! Vaez can't believe it with a look of 'what have I done?' as Jonze & Locker are equally taken back. Vaez pulls the chair out and just shakes his head, saying he did nothing. The referee gets into position as Cena covers ...

Switchblade somehow still gets a shoulder up! And Cena really can't believe it now! The AA onto the chair and all, yet Switchblade still kicks out. Cena says it was a 3 as he gets up and picks Switchblade up. He goes to send him into the ropes, but Switchblade reverses it. The referee gets distracted by Jonze as Cena ducks a clothesline and jumps up to springboard off the middle rope into stunner. But instead Vaez waffles him with the chair! Cena falls back as a groggy Switchblade drops down to his hands and knees. He crawls into the cover as Jonze drops down and yells for the ref to count. He slides into position ...

Switchblade wins! Switchblade is the new NWA North American champion! The referee quickly waves it off though as Cena got a foot on the bottom rope. Switchblade is spent and can do little by way of arguing, instead The Blacklist do it for him. Vaez says it was a 3 from the floor. He takes it a step further and gets onto the apron, trying to get the referee's attention. Switchblade gets Cena up as he takes him to the ropes across from Vaez. He then goes to shoot him across, but Cena reverses and Switchblade collides with Vaez! Vaez flies back into Jonze & Locker on the floor. Switchblade stumbles and turns into the waiting Cena. He lifts him up onto his shoulders. Attitude Adjustment! A second AA connects as Cena covers ...

Cena wins! Cena retains! There is no doubt about it this time as John Cena will keep the NWA North American Title. He defeats Rudy Switchblade via pinfall at a time of 18:53. Cena gets handed his belt and raises it up, although fans are less willing to cheer. Unlike appearance #1 for the return pop, Cena has folded into his usual 50/50 routine and beyond with fans booing him tonight. While Switchblade may have started the match a very hated man, Dean says that the fans here recognize heart, they recognize respect. And tonight, Switchblade earned their respect with this performance and by the end, they wanted to see him take it because he deserved it!
Gilbert quickly points out that per the orders of Jim Cornette, this was Switchblade's only opportunity at the title. But the bigger story here could be what becomes of The Blacklist? Ali Vaez could be to blame for the loss as without him, Switchblade may just be the 1 with his arm raised right now. A new member to the group, it could be a short stay for him come the next Ohio Valley TV when Switchblade has a chance to really review what happened here tonight. So Cena wins and will continue to reign as NWA North American champion.
And that brings us to October 10, Rage In The Cage on iPPV. October 25, NWA Fall Brawl here in Louisville. The road has started and fans can expect many twists and turns along the way. A reminder to tune in this Wednesday at 10PM on WBNA-TV 21 for the first stop. Until then, for Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey signing off, saying so long until the next time.
