The Miz, having attacked Sasha Darevko on the last show, came out and said that with his win, he earned a spot in the quarter finals tonight, and would go on to the semifinals tomorrow night! He was arrogant as always and dared the fans to argue with greatness! Of course they booed him out of the building, but that is what makes him so … great. His arrogance and pompousness. The fans love to hate him.
As the Miz was going on about how great of an NWA Champion he was, and will be, Brian Flemming came out and made his way to the ring. As he was entering the ring, the Miz struck! A kick of the middle rope caught Flemming in the ‘neither region’! The Miz then fell Flemming to the floor with a running knee to the face! The Miz rammed Brian into the ring post, ring retaining wall then back into the ring post. This caused Flemming to bleed, and the Miz wiped Flemming blood across his face and chest, then paraded around the ring, like a king. A ref came running and it was a short match. After the first fall ring announcer said that all matches tonight would be 2 out of 3 falls. This did little more than to irritate the Miz, who continued and ended the match with a Skull Crushing Finale.
The next match was more of a slow brawl, but the fans enjoyed it. The fans seemed to be behind T-Rent, as he came out with his partner D-Unit and they cheered with the fans.
The next encounter was a bit faster, and higher risk. Jeckles took to the sky a bit, while Warpath played the power game. It was a good contrast and the fans enjoyed it.
The Jesus Kruze / Dave Dutra was an all-out action packed match. Jesus Kruze was the bigger of the two, but that didn’t limit him. He was agile and fast, but the first fall was destined to belong to Dave after a missed corner splash. The second fall saw both men tumble over the top and battle around the ring, eventually going to a 10 count. The ref allowed it to go, and this fall saw Kruze take it to Dutra! The end of this fall saw Kruze hit his Kruze Bomb for the pin fall! The ‘4th’ and final fall of the match went to Dutra following some underhanded tactics.
- The Miz beat Brian Flemming in 2 straight falls to advance (3:30 / 7:00). There was a lot of cheating in this match, and of course the pre-match attack didn’t do Flemming any favors.
- In the Jeff Cobb / T-Rent match, T-Rent lost the first fall by pin fall (8:56), only to battle back and win two straight falls in an impressive fashion (12:12 / 16:47). T-Rent had his tag team partner D-Unit at ring side, but there was no ‘foul play’ from the tag team. It was a good match, and the fans gave them a good reaction.
- --- INTERMISSION ---
- In the Warpath / Jeckles the Jester match, it went down to the wire and both men scored a fall apiece (10:01 / 15:26) to take it to the 3rd fall (20:05). Warpath was the bigger of the two and was able to secure the win to advance.
- In the Jesus Kruze / Dave Dutra match, it was more or less a crap shoot. Dave won the first fall (9:12), but both men were counted out the 2nd fall (15:59). The ref could have called the match, but the fans were chanting “Let them go! Let them go!” Some were wondering if that meant to let them go to the 3rd fall or to fire them? Well, Kruze was able to score the next fall! This meant that the match would go to ‘Sudden Death’. After another good 6 or so minutes, Dave scored with a low blow and hand full of tights
