OK so Sean hasn't logged in since the 17th July, and I decided I'm not waiting on him to get his matches in. If he logs in today and sends his writeups over then his matches can be added afterwards but otherwise its an unnecesarry delay to posting this show.
So I will say that I'm not the best at the longer match writeups, but i did my best with the matches here and I hope that in turn it works out into a good show overall. Thanks to everyone who helped out with this show and it was a lot of fun putting this together despite the problems that have occured along the way.
Hello wrestling fans and welcome to Summerslam. We are live in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey for what is sure to be a great night of wrestling action. The hype is over, all the words have been said, tonight is all about in-ring competition and delivering a night of great wrestling, settling some scores along the way. Let's get straight to the action with our opening contest, as Samoa Joe does battle with Low-Ki!
NWA Maximum Grudge Match
Samoa Joe vs Low-Ki
What a way this is to open the show, two of the hardest hitting wrestlers in the entire NWA doing battle in a match that showcase just what NWA Maximum is all about. This one has come out of a rivalry between Joe and his good friend Jay Lethal versus Low-Ki and his SST team mate Homicide, with this matchup being the only pairing yet to wrestle.
The match begins with the two having an intense staredown, neither man flinching, then locking up, with Joe overpowering Low-Ki into the corner. Low-Ki charges out looking for a Forearm Smash, but Joe catches him and drops him with the STJoe! Low-Ki rolls out of the ring and regroups as Joe soaks in the cheers and "Joe" chants from the fans.
Low-Ki comes back in and the two lock up again, Joe overpowers Low-Ki again but this time he leaps onto the ropes and hits a Springboard Jumping High Kick that takes Joe down. Joe gets up and Low-Ki fires away on Joe with some stiff chops, with Joe fighting back with punches and chops of his own. The two continue to exchange brutal strikes, with neither man backing down or getting an advantage either way, until Low-Ki hits a series of chops that put Joe up against the ropes. Low-Ki goes for the killer blow, but Joe then fires back with chops and punches that take Low-Ki over to the corner. He then follows this up with the Facewash boots followed by the charging boot to the face that takes Low-Ki out of the ring!
Low-Ki tries to recover outside BUT JOE NAILS A SUICIDE ELBOW THROUGH THE ROPES! Joe takes in the cheers and "Joe" chants for a second before going after Low-Ki who is propped up against the guard rail. Low-Ki kicks Joe in the gut, then grabs the ring bell AND NAILS JOE WITH THE BELL! That was violent and totally legal in NWA Maximum, albeit maybe unnecessary in this sort of match. Joe stumbles to his feet and is busted open as Low-Ki unleashes some chops and kicks to him on the outside before throwing him back into the ring.
Low-Ki slugs away on Joe with some more chops and punches as he slumps into the corner, then Low-Ki gets a run up and hits a nasty Running Dropkick right to the face! He goes for the cover, 1-2-NO! Joe tries to get to his feet and is in a kneeling position as Low-Ki fires away with the Krush Kombo kicks, the third kocking Joe back down! 1-2-NO!
Sensing the match could be over soon, Low-Ki locks in the Dragon Clutch, though can't get it locked all the way on. Joe stumbles to his feet and crushes Low-Ki in the corner, but Joe is still woozy. Low-Ki charges BUT JOE CATCHES HIM WITH AN ENZIGURI! Both men are down as the ref starts a standing 10 count.
Low-Ki gets up at 8 and Joe at 9 as the two once again exchange stiff chops, then Joe fires away with a few Forearm shots. Low-Ki then tries a running Forearm but Joe ducks and grabs Low-Ki for a few slaps to the face, then an Exploder! Low-Ki is now on the back foot as Joe grabs him, POWERBOMB! 1-2-NO, JOE TRANSITIONS TO THE STF! Low-Ki struggles but just about manages to make it to the ropes.
Joe lifts up Low-Ki and carries him to the corner, looking for the Muscle Buster. But Low-Ki hits a few more kicks to the face AND LOCKS THE SCORPION FIRE! The ref makes him break it though technically the hold is legal, as Joe collapses on the canvas. Low-Ki though stay on the top. WARRIORS WAY BUT JOE MOVES! Low-Ki rolls through and charges BUT EATS A LARIAT FROM JOE! 1-2-NO! COQUINA CLUTCH! Low-Ki has nowhere to go and the hold is fully locked in. LOW-KI TAPS! Great opening match and a very hard fought win for Joe!
Winner- Samoa Joe
OVW Grudge Match
CM Punk vs Jamin Olivencia
This is not the first meeting between these 2, serving as a rematch from OVW's Best In The World iPPV event back in April. CM Punk defeated Jamin Olivencia clean in what was 1 of the biggest matches in company history, taking the OVW Title from him in the process. Now 3 months later and the ghost may have come back to haunt him. After refusing Jeff Jarrett's offer to join Global Force Wrestling, Olivencia has been targeted by the owner. Jarrett cost him not only the Nightmare Rumble, but a chance at becoming NWA World champion against AJ Styles. What role will Jarrett play tonight, if any?
The match starts off with Punk offering an uncharacteristic handshake. Olivencia wants no part of it, but accepts. Punk however uses it as a chance to start the match, kicking Olivencia in the gut. He pulls him forward into a short arm clothesline. Clearly he has not lost his disregard for the rules. Punk mounts Olivencia MMA style and starts firing in forearms. He gets the arm and goes for the Anacdona Vise, but Olivencia gets to the ropes for a break. Punk backs off, but immediately steps in and shoots Olivencia across for a roundhouse kick, but he ducks and instead bounces off the other side with a forearm to the face when Punk turns around. Olivencia delivers several. He jumps up into an attempt at the Standing O, but Punk falls back and rolls outside to slow down the pace.
Punk takes his time getting back in. He wants Olivencia backed away, at which point he finally steps in. Olivencia charges at him in the corner though, landing right hand after right hand. Punk shoves him off, but he comes back in for more. During the melee, Punk gets a thumb to the eyes and drops down to pull Olivencia face first into the top turnbuckle. With him dazed, Punk steps out to the apron. He then jumps up to springboard into a clothesline. He covers, but only gets a 2. Olivencia gets to his knees as Punk starts laying in with Muay Thai kicks. He brings Olivencia up and hits a double underhook powerbomb, followed by another 2. Punk brings Olivencia up and Irish whips him into the corner. He charges in with a step up high knee, but Olivencia catches him and slams him down to the mat.
As Punk gets up, Olivencia charges with a clothesline. Punk gets up, but gets scooped up into a bodyslam. Gets up again, another bodyslam. Olivenca brings Punk up and lifts him into a vertical suplex. He then goes to the top rope and waits for Punk to stand, flying off with a missile dropkick. A cover follows, but only a 2 count. Olivencia brings Punk up and dishes out forearms before shooting him across. Punk is able to reverse into him, but Olivencia turns it into a wheelbarrow facebuster and covers, scoring another 2. Olivencia lifts Punk up, goes for a suplex, instead dropping him with a sitout inverted suplex slam. Another 2 count. Olivencia can't put Punk away! As he gets up, Punk gets a kick to the midsection and hits a quick DDT.
As they stand, Punk gives 2 slaps to the face, a spinning back kick to the gut, and a roundhouse kick to the face. He picks Olivencia up into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, and on the mat, locks in the Anaconda Vise. Olivencia may have to tap here! He raises the right arm, teasing the tap, trying to resist. He then brings it across Punk's face and pulls him down, shoulders to the mat, getting a 2 before Punk has to break so he can kick out. Punk stands and kicks Olivencia in the face. He brings Olivencia up and brings him to a fireman's carry. The GTS! No, Olivencia counters. He instead drops behind Punk and pushes him to the corner. Punk hits and face first and turns. Standing O! No! Punk counters from the front facelock before Olivencia can get the bodyscissors. He instead thrusts him up, and drops him face to knee. The Go To Sleep! ...

... NO!
Olivencia just barely gets a shoulder up. Punk can't believe it! Rather than complain, Punk continues. Olivencia rolls to his stomach and starts to get up. Punk goes down, hooks his far leg under the neck, and hooks his hands, the Koji Clutch applied! Olivencia is being taken to the ringer here. He is put into a position again where he may have to tap! Olivencia starts a crawl towards the ropes. As he closes in, Olivencia reaches. It's tap or break! Olivencia gets there and Punk breaks. Punk gets up, yelling at the referee. He brings Olivencia up and drops him onto the top rope. He follows and stands him on the top rope into a double underhook. The Pepsi Plunge! A seldom used move anymore. Olivencia breaks free though and shoves Punk off. As he lands, Olivencia steadies and jumps off with a 180 degree twisting splash.
As they get up, Punk goes for a right, but Olivencia blocks to return fire. Again. Again. Olivencia sends Punk into the ropes, standing dropkick. Punk gets up and gets taken back with a German suplex. Olivencia rolls through, another. 3 amigos, Eddie Guerrero tribute, as he hits a third German suplex. Now he stands and waits for Punk to turn. Punk instead goes to the corner and turns, Olivencia charging in with a boot to the face. Punk is dazed and drops to a knee. He gets up as Olivencia leaps up into the front facelock, wrapping the bodyscissors, dropping to a DDT. The Standing O! ...

NO! As close as you can get, Punk gets a shoulder up before the ref's hand strikes 3. Olivencia can't believe it and was that it? Was that his chance and it's gone? Punk starts to stir. He uses the ropes to stand. Olivencia tries to pull him out, but gets shoved away. Olivencia hits the referee, briefly turning him, and allowing Punk to hit a low blow. Olivencia drops as Punk laughs. He does a facewash with the bottom of his boot. He then steps outside and goes up top. In tribute to Randy Savage, Punk raises his arms and leaps off into a diving elbow drop. Punk covers, but only gets a 2 count. Punk picks Olivencia up, a second GTS!? He lifts Olivencia up and drops him.
Olivencia though lands on his feet, blocks the knee and shoves it down. A small package! Olivencia gets a 2 count before Punk reverses it. Punk gets a 2 count and kicks out. As they stand, Punk goes for a clothesline, but Olivencia ducks and catches Punk with a reverse neckbreaker attempt. Punk blocks and rolls them face to face for an eye rake. Punk hits several forearms. He shoves Olivencia back first into the ropes, ducks down and lifts him up into the fireman's carry. Olivencia counters though into a sunset flip! Punk blocks it by dropping his knees onto Olivencia's shoulders. Olivencia brings his legs under the shoulders and drops Punk back. Punk rolls through to his feet as Olivencia does a kip up. Both on their feet and Olivencia jumps into the Standing O! He connects a second time and covers ...

Olivencia does it! He scores the 3! Olivencia defeats CM Punk! He has avenged the loss at Best In The World and pinned the 3 time former World champion, maybe his biggest win to date. Olivencia celebrates the win as Punk rolls out and disappears to the back. No sign of Jeff Jarrett, but this win has to put the former OVW champion up there for a future shot at the NWA World championship. He nearly took the title once a month ago, only to be screwed out of a chance at victory. Can he do it again should he get the opportunity?
Winner- Jamin Olivencia
NWA World Womens Title Match
Heidi Lovelace vs Sara Del Ray
The beginning of the match sees Del Rey almost taunting Lovelace as she controls the early going. While she might not have regularly competed in years, it is not showing here. Going for a German suplex though, Lovelace was able to reverse behind Del Rey. From there she brought her into the ropes for a go behind into a rollup. Del Rey kicks out at 2, sending Lovelace into the ropes. Del Rey gets to 1 knee as Lovelace bounces back into a kick. She delivers a few before a running dropkick and another 2 count. Bringing it back up, Del Rey breaks free and gives a headbutt. She follows that up with a hip attack. After some kicks, Del Rey goes for a powerbomb, driving the champion into the mat, but a kickout follows at the 2.
Del Rey picks Lovelace up and locks in a double underhook, preparing for the Royal Butterfly. Lovelace starts firing knees to the midsection to break free though. Some forearms follow before a snap suplex takes Del Rey over. Lovelace exits the ring and goes up top, but Del Rey is up and catches her, knocking her off the perch. Del Rey climbs up and sets up a superplex, but Lovelace breaks free. Del Rey though quickly hooks in the champion to a fireman's carry, and hits a big Samoan drop off the middle rope. Another 2 count follows. Del Rey wastes no time as she gets up, catching Lovelace with a running boot to the face. The double underhook follows as she lifts Lovelace into the butterfly, and suplexes her over. The Royal Butterfly hits! The referees gets down to count, but Lovelace gets a shoulder up just before the 3. Del Rey is in disbelief. The move has put away many before, but whether ring rust or Lovelace's tenacity, the champ kicks out.
Back up and Lovelace hits a right to the midsection. She goes for a kick, but Del Rey catches it. Lovelace then jumps up, connecting with an enzuigiri. As Del Rey gets to a knee, Lovelace hits the Shining Wizard and covers, but only gets a 2 as this time it's Del Rey getting a shoulder up. Back up and Lovelace takes Del Rey over to the mat with a Heidi-can-rana. As they get up, Lovelace charges, but Del Rey ducks. They turn and Del Rey charges for a second running boot, but Lovelace ducks! Del Rey turns and takes a running spear. Lovelace follows that by going up to the top rope. She comes off with the frog splash and covers. The referee goes down and makes the 3.
Winner- Heidi Lovelace
Heidi Lovelace wins the match and retains the Women's championship. Victories over AJ Lee at OVW's Best In The World in April, and now Sara Del Rey here at Summerslam, could be enough to silence any doubters that she is the best women's wrestler in the world today. Del Rey's challenge here may have proven to be too much, too soon, or she just doesn't have it anymore.
And now we turn to John Cena vs Chris Masters. This match is the story of two men who's environment has led them down two very different paths. John Cena, the big star in "the big show" at one time, now travelling a path in the NWA after the bubble burst and the gravy train stopped. Cena for a long time could not get any traction here in the NWA with his reputation tainted by association but finally found a home in Windy City in Chicago and showing great determination and spirit finally got some of what he deserves here in the NWA winning the North American Championship from Mark Jindrak.
Unfortunately, the rabbid Chicago fanbase did not take to Cena, seeing him as a big time Charlie and Cena was forced to face a torrent of abuse every time he made an appearance. Cena knuckled down though and sent back challenger after challenger from Bully Ray, to Brian Cage to Rudy Switchblade to become perhaps the best North American Champion of recent times, legit a threat to the World Championship.
Chris Masters meanwhile is a man who's been in Chicago for years, grinding it out and winning over the Chicago fans with his much improved ring work which led him to being one of the longest reigning Windy City Heavyweight Champions of all time before he had to forfeit his title due to a serious injury caused by Samoa Joe. This led to a great series of matches between Masters and Joe, Masters was unable to win the World Championship but in the end got his revenge over Samoa Joe after Joe had lost his title to AJ Styles. Masters was all set for his big shot at the World Championship with the whole of Chicago behind him which came in the form of a Fatal Four Way in the main-event of NWA Uncensored in Chicago. AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Jay Lethal and Chris Masters battled for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, with Masters seemingly on the brink of becoming the World Champ, who interfered to cost Masters the match, none other than John Cena!
A perhaps jealous Cena finally turned his back on the fans who provided Chris Masters such great support but who had never given him a chance. Cena formed the Cenation to watch his back, a group composed of Cena, Raymond Rowe, Todd Hanson and Beer City Bruiser. To combat this Masters teamed up with Body Magic, Ashton Vuiton and Eric St. Vaughn. Masters and Cena would fight for the North American Championship at Fight Night 36 in June. The numbers game though was enough for Cena to retain with Beer City Bruiser costing Masters the match.
This loss seemed to flip a switch within Chris Masters. Masters knows that this is now or never. Under NWA Maximum rules, which is no rules. This is his last shot at John Cena. Masters lost control and destroyed his former friends Body Magic after dispatching Beer City Bruiser and will head into NWA Summerslam, alone, up against the odd's against John Cena and the Cenation, knowing that this truly is his last chance!
NWA North American Heavyweight Championship
John Cena [c] w/Todd Hanson & Raymond Rowe vs "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters
Cena has been a great North American Champion, defending against all comers, and somehow walking away with the belt each time by hook-or-by-crook. Chris Masters meanwhile has been a main-event player in the NWA for the last couple of years and with this back story, this match on another day could easily have been the main-event.
Masters charges Cena right off the bat and backs him up into a corner and smashes home several big forearm smashes to the chest of the champion. Masters really is fired up tonight, he works the crowd and grabs Cena, Gutwrench Powerbomb for a two count. After a struggle Cena cuts off Masters and hits a running one handed Bulldog and flips off the crowd showing real intensity. Masters back to his feet wobbles, but catches Cena coming in with a huge dropkick! What a vertical leap that was from Masters and a surprising move from the heavily muscled Masterpiece!
Cena is down and selling the effects of that move. Masters is up and picks up Cena for a Tilt-a-whirl slam. He slides outside and grabs a chair and entering the ring, waits for Cena to get back to his feet, SLAM! Chair shot to the head and Cena goes down like a sack of cement and Masters covers 1-2-NOOO but is cut-off by Raymond Rowe and Todd Hanson, this is NWA Maximum rules after all! Hanson and Rowe work over Masters while Cena recovers.
Rowe and Hanson help Cena to his feet. With Rowe and Hanson holding Masters, Cena punts him right in the balls! No DQ's here! Cena hits a Vertical Suplex before scaling the top rope, and waits for Masters to get back up, drop kick from the top rope by Cena, not as aesthetically pleasing as you saw today from the likes of Adrian Neville and Jay Lethal but what a move from up top!
Cena stands over Masters, it's time for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, "You can't fucking see me" and an elbow drop! Cena covers but no Masters has his left shoulder up. Moving forward a few minutes and Masters has managed to drag himself back into the match get on top, he readies Cena for the Masterlock but Cena wriggles free and lands a desperation Sitout Powerbomb! Both men are down for several moments. Cena is up and trys to position Masters on the top rope for a Superplex, but Masters fires with some punches to the ribs. Cena ignores the pain and fires right back, several hard punches finding their target but a headbutt from Masters see's him crash down to the mat.
Masters senses it's his time, and readies himself, this could be his time. Desperation time, he senses the crowd behind him and launches himself off the top with a diving crossbody but Cena catches him and jerk presses him up over his head, FU!!! A quick cover from Cena and a tight hook of the leg, one-two-three!!!!
NO! Somehow Masters kicked out! Cena has had enough and is tossed his chain by Raymond Rowe on the outside. Cena wraps the chain tighly around his fists and signals to the crowd that this is over, flipping him off as he does so, but a small package from Masters 1-2-NOOOOOO! So close there, but Cena is up and spins around and smashes Masters square on the chin with his chain wrapped fist and quickly covers 1-2-3!!! That's it! John Cena retains the North American Championship but what a war!
Winner- John Cena
Hanson and Rowe are in the ring and celebrate with Cena. All three men stand over the downed Masters. Hanson and Rowe go to put some stamps in but Cena call's them off. Cena smirks at a downed Masters and holds afloat his North American Championship and hollers out "AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, whoever wins tonight, the REAL CHAMP IS HERE!".
NWA World Tag Team Title Match
The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) vs The Pistols ("Unbreakable" Michael Elgin and "The FN Machine" Brian Cage)
The Young Bucks and The Pistols have a history against each other, the two teams had a rivalry many months ago that lead to The Young Bucks winning the titles at the start of the year. That rivalry has been reignited with The Pistols requesting a rematch, but they have thrown a real spanner in the works by announcing Michael Elgin as a new member, reforming the Unbreakable FN Machines in the process. Knowing they have a massive challenge on their hands, this is as difficult a match as The Young Bucks have faced in their 7 months as champions.
Brian Cage and Nick Jackson start the match off with a lockup and Cage throws Nick into the corner. Jackson charges AND EATS A DISCUS LARIAT! Cage goes for the cover but Matt gets in and breaks the cover up, dragging his brother over to the corner and making the tag as Cage laughs and tags in Elgin. Elgin and Matt circle and lockup, with Elgin taking advantage and throwing Matt into the corner. Matt charges AND ELGIN GOES FOR THE CROSSFACE! Matt gets out of the ring before he can lock it and The Young Bucks are reeling. They talk tactics on the outside as the fans chant "Pistols" at the top of their voice.
Matt gets back in with Elgin and the two lock up again, as this time Matt gets a wrist lock and makes a quick tag to Nick, who goes to the top. He looks for a Dropkick, BUT ELGIN MOVES AND NICK HITS MATT! Nick rolls out as Elgin drives Matt into the corner and tags Cage, and they take Matt down with a Double Clothesline. Cage then hits a Northern Lights Suplex, getting a 2 count before Nick breaks up the cover.
Cage tags Elgin and throws Matt into the ropes, Nick tagging himself in, as Matt takes a Backdrop from Cage INTO A POWERBOMB FROM ELGIN! No cover as Matt isn't legal but Nick has a steel chair. He throws it to Elgin who catches it AND NICK DROPKICKS THE CHAIR INTO HIS FACE! Cover by Nick for a 2 count.
Nick hits a few more chair shots as Matt recovers on the outside, eventually getting on the apron and Nick tags him, as they hit a Double Dropkick. Cover by Matt but the cover is broken up by Cage. Matt goes up top and hits a Moonsault, getting a 2 count. He then tags Nick and they hit the Indytaker! Cover by Nick, 1-2-NO, CAGE BREAKS IT UP! Nick then hits a rope assisted DDT, spiking Elgin. 1-2-ELGIN GETS HIS FOOT ON THE ROPES! This one could be over at any time as Nick calls for the 450 Splash, and this could finish it. He goes for it BUT ELGIN MOVES AND NICK CRASHES AND BURNS!
The fans clap desperately for Elgin to make the tag to Cage who is ready. HE MAKES IT AND HERE COMES CAGE. Both Young Bucks charge AND CAGE TAKES THEM BOTH OUT WITH A DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE! He grabs Nick and hits the Chainlink, then grabs Matt and nails the Lights Out, he's taking them both out by himself. Cover on Matt by Cage, 1-2-NO! Elgin is back up and the two grab Matt for a Double Powerbomb, but Nick recovers and smacks Elgin in the back with the chair to take him out. then does the same to Cage!
The Young Bucks grab Cage, EARLY-ONSET ALZHEIMER'S! They cover Cage, 1-2-2.999, ELGIN BREAKS IT UP AT THE LAST SECOND! Matt grabs Elgin and the two brawl out of the ring as Nick filled with rage grabs the chair from earlier and begs Cage to get up for a shot. Cage gets up and Nick swings, but Cage ducks the first attempt THEN BOOTS THE CHAIR IN NICK'S FACE! Elgin has recovered on the outside and grabs Matt, REVOLUTION ELGIN BOMB ON THE FLOOR! Cage picks up Nick, WEAPON X ON THE CHAIR! 1-2-3, WE'VE GOT NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!
Winners- NEW NWA World Tag Team Champions, The Pistols
The fans explode for the title change as Matt Taven and Mike Bennett run out and celebrate with Cage and Elgin, The Pistols have in its latest incarnation become 2 time NWA World Tag Team Champions. I think the question on everyone's lips now is will Cage and Elgin be the only ones defending these belts, or once again are we going to see the Freebirds rule in effect?
NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title Match
Adrian Neville vs "New Jersey's Own" Jay Lethal
Lethal gets a standing ovation from everyone in attendance, and this is perhaps his greatest opportunity to win NWA gold, one that he needs to take as much like Chris Masters, he's had a few opportunities now and this may be his last chance. Neville is booed out of the building by the partisan crowd but doesn't care one bit about that.
The two lock up and exchanges some wrist locks, hammerlocks and counters, with Lethal showing his pure wrestling skill to reverse the holds while Neville is able to use his amazing athletic skill to escape anything Lethal puts him into. Neville gets a Headlock and Lethal throws him to the ropes, hitting an Arm Drag, Neville follows it with his own Arm Drag, then they both try one and it leads to a stalemate.
We get another lockup and this time Lethal grabs a Headlock that Neville struggles to get out. He manages to throw Lethal into the ropes, who takes him down with a Shoulder Block, then after running the ropes Lethal gets another Arm Drag, followed by a Dropkick to take Neville out of the ring. The two fight on the outside as Lethal whips Neville into the guardrail. He then tries to whip Neville into the ring steps, but Neville leaps onto the steps and hits a Hurricanrana to the floor!
Neville throws Lethal back into the ring AND GRABS A LADDER FROM UNDER THE RING! He takes the ladder in and charges at Lethal, taking him down with a shot. He drops the ladder onto Lethal a few times, then sets it up. He climbs up top to hit an aerial move, but Lethal is back up before he can get up there and takes him of the ladder, the two exchanging punches. Lethal hits a European Uppercut to daze Neville then throws him into the ladder, BUT NEVILLE LEAPS ONTO THE LADDER AND HITS A TORNADO DDT! Neville is still dazed but goes for the cover after a delay, 1-2-NO!
Neville picks up Lethal, and whips him into the ladder, knocking him and the ladder to the canvas! He pick up Lethal again and then slams lethal onto the ladder as he writhes in agony! Neville then climbs to the top rope, and goes for the 450 Splash, BUT LETHAL MOVES AND NEVILLE HITS THE LADDER! Both men are down as the ref starts a standing 10 count and the fans chant for Lethal, wanting to see him make a comeback.
Both men make it up for the 9 count and the two exchange forearms back and forth, with Lethal getting the advantage, then hitting a European Uppercut to take Neville into the corner and following that up with a Snap Suplex ONTO THE LADDER! Neville is now the one in pain as Lethal is feeling it. He goes up top. HAIL TO THE KING! 1-2-NO, NEVILLE KICKS OUT!
Lethal quickly sets the ladder back up and is perhaps looking to hit the move off the ladder. Neville is up though and drags Lethal off the ladder, climbing it himself and planning a Frankensteiner. Neville throws a few punches and has Neville dazed, climbing onto the ladder with him. DRAGON SUPLEX OFF THE LADDER, BUT NEVILLE ROLLS OUT OF THE RING! Lethal desperately goes out there and drags the near unconscious Neville back into the ring and goes for the cover. 1-2-NEVILLE GETS HIS FOOT ON THE ROPES! Lethal pounds the mat with frustration and lifts up Neville, going for the Lethal Injection, but Neville with the last of his energy goes behind Lethal and hits a German Suplex INTO THE LADDER!
Neville stumbles to his feet but Lethal is not getting up, as he climbs to the top rope. RED ARROW! 1-2-3, Neville retains and the fans are not happy!
Winner- Adrian Neville
A great effort by the home town hero, who gets a standing ovation from the fans once he was able to make it to his feet, but Neville retains his title and continues to make his mark as World Junior Heavyweight Champion!
Main Event, NWA World Heavyweight Title Match
"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs Personal Demons
This is it, a match that has been building now for over 5 months, ever since Jeff Hardy transformed into Personal Demons back in February. Since then Demons has ended the career of his brother Matt Hardy and of former multiple time World Champion Chris Jericho, with him now targeting AJ Styles and his World Heavyweight Title. Styles was initially defiant that he would not put his title on the line against someone so set on bringing down the NWA, but after a loss to Brock Lesnar a few weeks ago he was forced to give in and make this match official.
Demons revelled in the boos of the fans, and notably The Reject (aka Shannon Moore) is not with him, we could see him later on though. Styles came out to a heroes welcome and the fans are hot for this match, the big match atmosphere was in full effect. The ring announcer does the introductions, but before he can finish Styles' introduction PERSONAL DEMONS ATTACKS! He fires away on Styles with punches and throws him into the ropes, but Styles reverses, ducks underneath and hits the Dropkick to send Demons out of the ring! Styles removes his ring jacket and poses as Demons decides to regroup on the outside.
Demons gets back in and charges for Styles again as the two exchanges punches back and forth, with Demons getting the advantage this time. He kicks Styles in the gut to send him back then gets on the middle rope, looking for a Diving Clothesline. However Styles avoids the attempt, hits a few Forearms and then takes Demons out of the ring again with a spin kick!
Demons is frustrated as he starts throwing weapons into the ring: chairs, garbage cans, kendo sticks and anything else he can find under the ring. He goes back and swings wildly with a chair but Styles avoids that shot and takes Demons down with a Hurricanrana, then grabs a garbage can and smacks Demons with it over the head to take him to the canvas. A cover by Styles gets a 2 count. A shot with a kendo stick sends Demons over the ropes, and Styles then looks for a Brainbuster on the ring apron. But Demons hits a desperation Low Blow to escape AND HITS A DDT ON THE RING APRON! Styles is down on the outside and Demons follows.
Demons throws Styles into the guardrail a few times and then back into the ring, following that with a quick Leg Drop from the top for a 2 count. He smacks Styles with a few nasty chairshots, then follows that with a Snap Suplex onto a chair, again getting a 2 count.
This is enough for Demons to decide to go and grab a MASSIVE ladder from under the ring, which he smacks Styles in the gut with, setting up the ladder. He climbs all the way to the top and calls for the Swanton. SWANTON BOMB FROM THE TOP OF THE LADDER, BUT STYLES MOVES! Demons crashed and burned on the canvas in what was a very nasty fall, and both men are down for a 10 count.
Styles actually makes it up first with Demons stumbling into the corner. Styles fires away with a flurry of punches and forearms, then nails a Brainbuster ON A GARBAGE CAN! 1-2-NO! He picks up Demons and takes him down with the Bloody Sunday! Styles then climbs to the top, FROG SPLASH! 1-2-2.999! So close for Styles but Demons is still in it.
Styles calls for the Styles Clash, and prepares to setup Demons for it, BUT HERE COMES THE REJECT! He charges and smacks Styles in the back with a chair! Demons and The Reject pound away with stomps and a few chair shots to the champ as the fans boo and chant "We want Shane", signalling that they want Shane Helms out here to help out Styles. Demons picks up Styles and holds him as The Reject takes something out of his pocket, ITS A FIREBALL! If they hit Styles with this there's no way he's coming back, this is wrong and no way should it end like this.
HERE COMES SHANE HELMS OUT OF THE CROWD! He charges into the ring as The Reject lights the fireball, SHOVES STYLES OUT OF THE WAY AND THE REJECT THROWS THE FIREBALL INTO DEMONS FACE! Helms grabs The Reject by the throat. CHOKESLAM! He drags The Reject out of there as Styles recovers in the corner and Demons clutches his face in agony on the canvas. Styles climbs to the top rope. SPIRAL TAP! 1-2-3, STYLES RETAINS!
Winner- AJ Styles
A massive win for Styles, I think a lot of people thought that with all the build-up for Personal Demons and the real danger he posed to the NWA that he might have had the number of the champ, but thanks to the help of Shane Helms and a fireball Styles has kept his title. Styles will have no problems finding new challengers ahead of Fall Brawl in a couple of months, hosted by Ohio Valley Wrestling. Meanwhile you would have to think the next step for Personal Demons is to try and get some revenge on Shane Helms who has been a thorn in his side for months, but the man who now wants to be known as Kryptonite could very well be the "kryptonite" of Personal Demons and indeed the one to finally bring him down.
Thank you for joining us for Summerslam, we leave as Styles holds up his belt on the turnbuckle and the fans cheer, who can possibly stop this man?
So I will say that I'm not the best at the longer match writeups, but i did my best with the matches here and I hope that in turn it works out into a good show overall. Thanks to everyone who helped out with this show and it was a lot of fun putting this together despite the problems that have occured along the way.
The National Wrestling Alliance Presents: Summerslam Live on PPV

He connects a second time and covers ...

... 3!
