Rump Thump | Raul Lamotta |
Rump Thump defeats Raul Lamotta @ 5:38 via pinfall after the Rumper Stumper. Quick opener to get the fans going. Thump plays up the crowd while The Rudo just tries to bring them down. Despite repeated attempts at breaking the rules, it was not enough as Rump Thump would connect with his butt butt finisher and grab the win. An important match here as the win may be the difference between being and not being on the Rage In The Cage iPPV 5 weeks from now.
VS | ||
Robbie Walker | Dapper Dan |
Dapper Dan defeats Robbie Walker @ 5:20 via pinfall with the German Suplex. A successful return for Dan, out since the Nightmare Rumble after taking a bad fall when going over the top rope. Walker had been building momentum and had to be a slight favorite here, but maybe all the matches he was taking just gave Dan a better scouting opportunity. Walker again put up a good showing, but Dan was able to reverse Irish whip Walker into the turnbuckles and catch him coming out with the bridging German. Dan proclaims he took Walker to the real 'suplex city' after the win.

TerreMex | The Fabulous Freebodies |
TerreMex defeat The Fabulous Freebodies @ 6:51 when The Mexicutioner pinned The Body Guy after a spear. The long awaited showdown between Mex and Big Jon was a slobberknocker in every sense of the word. They slugged it out to start the match, before it would turn into a back and forth. Terrez went for his twisting corkscrew moonsault, but Big Jon shoved him off the top rope. The Freebodies worked to isolate Terrez until a hot tag brings Mex in. After a comeback, he hit the spear on Body Guy for the win. The victory has to put TerreMex near the top of the list of contenders for whoever wins the Tag Team Title match later tonight.
Women's Title match
VS | ||
Challenger Mary Elizabeth Monroe | Champion Seleziya Sparx |
Mary Elizabeth Monroe defeats Women's champion Seleziya Sparx to win the title @ 7:13 via tap out to the Rainbow Cross. Far cry from the first encounter where Seleziya dominated to win the title as Monroe showed a renewed spark in her offense tonight. It would take more than just that though as Seleziya still looked to be close to the win. A setup for te spiral bomb saw Monroe block going up and instead back body drop her. Back up, Seleziya would get the upper hand again and setup for the Bedazzler. Monroe though out of the move, countered into her modified STF submission. Seleziya had little choice but to tap as Monroe avenges defeat and regains the title just 2.5 weeks after losing it. No Taeler Hendrix at ringside tonight, but she can't be pleased with this outcome.
VS | ||
James Thomas | Ali Vaez |
Ali Vaez defeats James Thomas @ 7:46 via pinfall with a schoolboy and a handful of tights. The new Blacklist leader steals a win tonight over Moose as he continues to solidify himself in the top position in the stable. Moose had control of the match, but a spear attempt was countered by Vaez when he side stepped and sent Thomas shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Vaez then rolled him up from behind and added the tights for leverage. A cheap win but the record books will only show the result. Vaez made the challenge to John Cena this past week for a North American Title match on the 2 hour live special this coming Wednesday, will this be enough to get the champ's attention?
Best 2 out of 3 Falls match for the Tag Team championship
VS | ||||
Challenger | Champion | |||
The Wild Boyz | The Congregation |
Fall 1:
Tag Team champions The Congregation defeat The Wild Boyz @ 5:17 when Jake Glasure pinned Bud Dwight after a powerslam. The champions go up 1-0 with the power of The Apostle. No interference from Pastor of Disaster Stuart Miles, but his mere presence at ringside signals something may go awry yet in this championship match.
Fall 2:
The Wild Boyz defeat Tag Team champions The Congregation @ 10:52 when Eddie Diamond made Jade Dawson tap out to the Crossfire Crossface. The challengers even the score with this submission. The Congregation had a trick up their sleeves though as Miles would enter the match and declare himself legal to start the third fall, replacing Dawson. The commentators were unsure of the legality of this, although the referee seemed against it.
Fall 3:
Tag Team champions The Congregation defeat The Wild Boyz to retain the title @ 13:04 when Jade Dawson pinned Eddie Diamond after a leg drop bulldog. EFD immediately locked Miles into the Crossface and got him tapping, but the referee deemed Miles not legal. As Diamond released the hold and stood up, Dawson caught him with the 'fameasser' move to put him down, and put him away for the 3 count. Dean calls into question the methods of The Congregation, while Gilbert agrees and feels that maybe only the 2 legal participants should be allowed ringside for any given title defense.

Jeff Jarrett |
Unexpected here as out comes Global Force Wrestling owner Jeff Jarrett. His previous attempts at recruiting Jamin Olivencia have all been turned down, and he is likely here to watch tonight's main event match between him and 'Ironman' Rob Conway.
Jeff Jarrett: "I won't take up too much time here. I just thought ... haha, no, I have a little announcement to make. An announcement that I hope will shake Ohio Valley to it's very foundation! I've come out here now, trying to get Jamin Olivencia to jump ship to my pet project, Global Force Wrestling. I saw him as a #1 draft pick, but clearly I was wrong. I realize now that I need to not look to the future, and instead use a solid foundation as my building block. Somebody that has been around. Somebody that has done it all. Somebody, oh ho, somebody that did that exact thing here in Ohio Valley. And no, it's not Brock Lesnar. So without further ado, let me introduce to you the newest member of the Global Force roster ... Mr. Wrestling! Nick Dinsmore!
This is certainly unexpected! On the shelf since April with an injured knee, Jarrett has apparently recruited a long time OVW talent. 1 of the originals. Some fans boo the announcement.
Nick Dinsmore: "Boo yourselves. I got 2 words - money, talks. I've been sitting back there the last 5 months, rehabbing an injury. That gave me a lot of time to think. Time to think about how my time, the Nick Dinsmore story, it's not over yet. Danny Davis sees me as a trainer or something. He kept phasing me out. But I still got something left to give, and this man! This man right here (Jarrett), he saw that. He recognized it! So yeah. Am I a sellout? You're darn right I am! So while Jamin Olivencia and Rob Conway are busy wrestling each other, seemingly to figure out a match with the World champion AJ Styles, I'm here to say it. I'm going all in with Global Force Wrestling and Jeff Jarrett. And I'm back. Mr. Wrestling is back! So get ready because the last chapter in my book has yet to be written."
A larger number of fans boo as Jarrett tells Dinsmore to just ignore them. Out from the back comes Danny Davis. He stops Dinsmore, asking him why. Dinsmore just ignores him though as Jarrett laughs and the 2 continue on their way.

Chase Owens | Jason Kincaid |
Chase Owens defeats Jason Kincaid @ 9:24 via pinfall after the Roaring Elbow. Quick pace in this match as these 2 knew each other, and well. Lots of predicting what was to come and allow avoidance of the move, but that only goes so far. Kincaid wow'd the crowd with near falls from The Grave of The Fireflies, a flipping cutter as Owens was on his knees, as well as The Death From Above, a diving stomp as Owens was hung in the tree of woe. Owens was not without his own spectacular offense, getting near falls with a moonsault off the middle rope, and the WBTK Driver, a backbreaker into a reverse STO. The finish comes with Kincaid going for an atomic drop, only for Owens to flip behind him. Owens turns Kincaid, simultaneously turning into the discus elbow and the 3. No sign of Jeremiah Plunkett and his crutches tonight.
TV Title match with 2 referees
VS | ||
Challenger Dylan Bostic | Champion Adam Revolver |
TV champion Adam Revolver defeats Dylan Bostic to retain the title @ 15:37 via pinfall after a Russian legsweep. Despite the result, Bostic put up a strong showing and arguably the better showing. With Ray Lynn in his corner, Bostic kept the pressure on Revolver and seemed to have the match won when from the back came Mary Jane, valet of Chris Silvio. He has not been seen since 5 weeks ago at the last SNS, but as he was the former TV champion, Bostic immediately preps himself for his appearance. Mary Jane pleaded with Ray Lynn that 'he's coming', leading to a swerve when she instead kicks her in the stomach. Bostic wondered what the hell was going on, but left himself open to the finisher of Revolver.
Adam Revolver keeps the title and maybe gains something in the process. Mary Jane raises his arm in victory and it would seem the valet is now with Revolver!? What about Silvio though? Maybe some answers will come, but for tonight, Bostic gets screwed out of a win and maybe becoming the TV champion.
Heavyweight Title match

Champion Elijah Burke | Challenger Cliff Compton |
The Pope is entering this match at a disadvantage, thanks in large part to the work of Mr. Marvelous Melvin Maximus this past Wednesday on TV. Cliff Compton won a battle royal to become the #1 contender several weeks back, and then went to work on injuring Burke before tonight. First, an attack on TV after Burke had just had a match, then picking Maximus to face Burke in a non title match and focus in on the already worked on ribs.
The match gets going with Compton immediately turning his offense onto the prone area of The Pope. He gets Burke into a corner and drives a shoulder to the ribs and follows that by ripping the protective tape off. Compton starts giving jabs to the area as the referee checks if Burke wants to continue, only to get no quit from the champion. Compton keeps it up before Burke starts firing back with rights. Pope briefly has control before Compton ducks out of the ring. Burke follows and finds himself reverse Irish whipped into the barricade. The ref again checks, but Pope refuses to lose the title like that. Compton drives him back first into the ring post and rolls back in, yelling for the ref to stop the match.
Burke looks to be headed towards a count out loss, so Compton heads back out since he can't win the title that way. He rolls him back in and starts kicking him before picking him up and driving him ribs first into the knee and a 2 count. This match has been almost all Compton so far. He sends Burke into the ropes for a clothesline but the champion ducks. Burke rebounds with a dropkick. He is slow to get up, grabbing his midsection in the process. Compton gets up and takes several right hands before Pope suplexes him. He drags him to the corner and then goes for the Outer Limitz Elbow, a turnbuckle handstand into an elbow drop, but seems to take more punishment himself than it was worth. Burke covers for a 2.
As they get up, Burke gives several forearms before going for an STO. Compton counters with elbows to the head. He turns and goes for a clothesline, but Burke ducks and when they turn, he gives a kick to the midsection. He grabs Compton by the head for the Elijah Experience, but Compton shoves Burke back into the referee. With the referee momentarily caught off guard, Compton delivers a low blow. He then puts Burke into the front facelock, steps up to the middle rope, and comes off with the Cliffhanger, a springboard Tornado DDT. Compton covers and gets the 3. New champion crowned!
Compton will take the match and the title wth the win at 8:42. The ref hands Compton the belt, he raises it up to booing from the crowd. The ref checks on Burke, but Compton orders he raise his arm in victory instead. He exits the ring after some posing with Burke getting up and getting a nice ovation from the crowd. The crowd chants "Thank you Pope" as his 5 month title reign comes to a hault tonight. He exits and nods to thank the fans. Just then though, from behind the curtain comes Melvin Maximus to attack Pope from behind. Josh Ashcraft is also out!
Maximus quickly puts Burke into the bear hug as Ashcraft eggs him on and tells him to never let go! Wrestlers are out - Paredyse, Ryan Howe, Rump Thump, Ram Jam, but nobody can break the grip. Finally Maximus lets go as Burke drops to the ground. He fires a right hand at Ram Jam for good measure as Ashcraft laughs it up. The manager tells Burke that there's a new man in town and his name is Mr. Marvelous, Melvin Maximus. Few will argue that right now as Burke may need serious help after this, while Maximus could be headed towards a title shot at the new champion.
Interview
Terry Boddie | Jim Cornette |
The Fan Advocate Terry Boddie is out at ringside, joined by OVW's own Jim Cornette. What does the Director of Authority have in store for fans tonight?
Jim Cornette: "What a night of action Terry. Some results I don't agree with, but they are results all the same. As you know, Rage In The Cage on October 10, Fall Brawl on October 25, 2 of the biggest nights to come. Right now though, I want to talk about this Wednesday. 2 hours, live at 8pm, Louisville's ION affiliate WBNA-TV 21. I've got some announcements concerning those events that I'm working on to reveal on Wednesday, but I've got an announcement for Wednesday right now! Ali Vaez threw down the challenge. He wants to outdo Rudy Switchblade, do everything he never could. He challenged North American champion John Cena to come and defend that title. Well I can officially confirm right now that Cena will be there, the match will happen, and the title will be on the line! And just to make sure there is no interference, I've added a stipulation. Not only Shiloh Jonze and Eric Locker, but also Paredyse and The Rockstar Ryan Howe, all 4 will be handcuffed to a different ringpost. Unlike when Switchblade challenged Cena, this time when there's a winner, they will earn it! Also, we know that Brock Lesnar will be there Wednesday. For all I know though, he's here tonight!? He came unannounced a couple weeks back and he had a target, but we don't know the why. Hopefully we get that on Wednesday. It promises to be a big night, don't miss it!"

Jamin Olivencia | Rob Conway |
Dean Hill calls this perhaps the most important singles match without a title on the line in the history of Ohio Valley. Gilbert Corsey can't disagree. The reason being that both men are in search of an NWA World Heavyweight Title match with champion AJ Styles, and the winner here would certainly secure themselves that opportunity. Perhaps the biggest stage of all, Fall Brawl right here in Louisville. But throw in the wild card - the arrival of Brock Lesnar, and what will that do to this match? Is Lesnar here? Unanswered questions, but the answers are here as the time is now - Olivencia vs Conway.
The match starts with a mix of dueling chants. Both wrestlers are crowd favorites here and it puts the fans in a tough position, although the commentators agree that there is perhaps a bit more leaning towards Olivencia. Old timers are likely to be going with Conway, while newer and younger fans probably side with Olivencia. Gilbert throws out another factor - Conway's good friend Nick Dinsmore 'selling out' to Jeff Jarrett. Is that in his head as the match starts? A couple lock ups to start lead to clean breaks as shows of respect.
A third lock up sees Olivencia get Conway to a side headlock. Conway shoots him off as Olivencia bounces back into a shoulder block from Conway. The Ironman hits the ropes and goes over Olivencia and comes back to go under a leapfrog. Conway comes back for a hiptoss attempt, but blocks it. Instead he steps over and hiptosses Olivencia. He gets up and eats an arm drag takedown from Conway into an armbar. Olivencia gets up and reverses into a wristlock. Conway takes Olivencia back to send him into the ropes. Olivencia holds on as Conway charges. Olivencia side steps as Conway hits the ropes and comes back into a dropkick. Conway goes down and rolls out to the floor to regroup. No time though as Olivencia hits the ropes running with a suicide dive onto Conway on the floor.
With the ref counting, Olivencia heads to the apron. Conway gets up as Olivencia starts running for a diving knee, but Conway turns the corner and rolls in the ring instead. Olivencia starts heading through the ropes, but Conway is ready to kick the middle rope and garner some booing in the process. He pulls Olivencia in and suplexes him for a 2 count. Olivencia goes out to the apron as Conway grabs him to bring him back in, but Olivencia counters by a right hand. He then grabs Conway and slams him face first into the turnbuckle. With Conway reeling, Olivencia climbs to the top rope. Conway turns and takes a missile dropkick to the face. Conway gets up in the corner as Olivencia charges in with a forearm to the chest. Conway steps out as Olivencia comes off the ropes, ducking a Conway clothesline and instead catching him with a jumping discus clothesline. Olivencia is running on high octane tonight.
As they get up, Olivencia looks for the Standing O early, but Conway pushes him back. Olivencia turns and takes a charging clothesline. As he gets up, Conway connects with a DDT and scores another 2 count. Conway tells the ref to count faster as he brings Olivencia back to his feet. He sends him into the ropes and drops his head for a back body drop. Olivencia telegraphs it instead and jumps over into a sunset flip for a 2 count. As they stand, Olivencia gets caught by Conway into a sitout spinebuster slam. This gives Conway some breathing room finally. As Olivencia starts to get up, Conway grabs him from behind for a sleeper hold. Olivencia starts getting up as the fans cheer. He elbow Conway in the midsection and reverses to a waistlock. Conway however counters that by going behind into a drop down toe hold and back to a headlock, transitioned to a sleeper again.
Now Olivencia looks to maybe be in trouble. His arms start going limp as the referee checks. The arm drops once. The arm drops twice. But not a third time as Olivencia keeps it up and starts getting himself psyched back up. He gets to his feet and gets an arm behind Conway, lifting him into a belly to back suplex to free himself. As they both get up, Olivencia hits a dropkick. Conway gets up and turns into a second dropkick. He gets up and turns into a third dropkick! Now Conway needs the ropes to get up as Olivencia meets him there. He goes for the Standing O again, but Conway catches him and instead drives him back first into the corner. Conway hooks Olivencia and lifts him up, draping him across the top rope, and just like that he connects with the Ego Trip! The whiplash is delivered as Conway covers ...

... NO!
Olivencia kicks out before the 3! Conway's finisher fails to put Olivencia away here. Conway picks him up and readies for the move again, but Olivencia counters with a small package, only drawing a 2. As they get up, Conway drives a knee into Olivencia's midsection. He then drives an uppercut and several rights. Olivencia is in the corner and taking kicks as Conway stomps a mudhole dry. He sends Olivencia off into a back elbow, flexes and drops down with an elbow on the mat. Conway gets up and hits the ropes running for a big elbow drop, but Olivencia moves! As they get up, Olivencia ducks and hooks the legs of Conway to flip him onto his back. He quickly repositions and slingshots Conway to the corner. As Conway comes out dazed, Olivencia jumps and locks in the front facelock and bodyscissors, driving Conway into the mat. The Standing O! He covers ...

... 2
... NO!
This time Conway kicks out. This match could be a war of attrition as neither man wants to lose this opportunity. Olivencia quickly goes outside and to the top rope. With Conway still down, he jumps off with a 180 splash from the top that connects. He grabs his own midsection as if RVD after a frog splash, but covers, only getting a 2. Olivencia gets up and brings Conway to his feet. He goes to Irish whip him corner to corner, but Conway reverses and sends Olivencia right back from where they came. He hits hard and bounces out into a snap powerslam. Both wrestlers are down but there is still a lot of life left. Conway gets up, Olivencia gets up. Conway goes for a right, but Olivencia blocks to return right back. He goes for another, and another, but Conway ducks the third and Olivencia spins into an atomic drop. As Conway lifts him, Olivencia flips behind to his feet and runs Conway into the ropes with a go behind. Conway holds on and Olivencia rolls back. As they turn, Olivenca charges for a second Standing O, but Conway counters by turning and dropping Olivencia over the top rope. He pulls him in, legs draped, connecting with a second Ego Trip! The referee counts ...

... 3!
Conway gets the 3! NO! Olivencia gets his foot on the bottom rope. Conway gets notified and shoves it off to quickly cover again, but Olivencia kicks out before the 3. SO CLOSE! Conway has to be asking himself what will it take? A third Ego Trip?! He gets up and stands over Olivencia, pulling him up. Conway snapmares him over to a stead position, hits the ropes, and comes back with a low dropkick. He covers for another 2 count. Conway quickly covers again with his back as he hooks the leg. At the 2 though, Olivencia hooks the arm and brings Conway back into a crucifix for a 2 count. Conway gets up and storms Olivencia, but Olivencia jumps to hit a high knee strike. With Conway dazed, Olivencia goes for the Standing O, but Conway again counters by catching Olivencia with a big upper cut instead. Conway quickly grabs Olivencia, suplexs him up to drop him into the top rope for a third Ego Trip, but Olivencia counters as he instead bounces up and back at Conway, turning them and dropping into the Standing O. Olivencia covers ...
... 1
... 2
... 3!
Olivencia wins! Conway kicks out, but too late for it to matter. A gigantic win for Olivencia as he scores the fall at a time of 18:55, and with that, he has earned the right to a rematch with the World champion AJ Styles. A hard fought match and Conway should have nothing to be ashamed of with this performance. Gilbert notes though that this was all or nothing for The Ironman. He has turned it around all year, building to this opportunity, and now it's been taken from him. As Olivencia celebrates the victory, Conway finally gets up. The fans stand as they wonder what is going to happen here? What will Conway do?
Olivencia extends a hand, but Conway is reluctant to accept. The fans want to see it. Conway steps in but instead slaps the hand away! He tells Olivencia he was this close and motions that if Olivencia wins the title, he wants the first shot! Olivencia ia taken back by this but nods, only for Conway to drop down and roll out to the floor. He heads to the back, no handshake, no nothing. The commentators feel for Conway, but not to take anything away from Olivencia because it's his night. His music starts back up as he goes back to celebrating. He heads to the middle rope and motions to his waist. He is coming for AJ Styles and the World Title ...
... but what about Brock Lesnar? What about Wednesday night when OVW goes live for 2 hours? The celebration could be very short lived for Jamin Olivencia as nobody knows what to expect when The Beast Incarnate returns with what now has to be a decisive target. For Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey saying so long until next time. So long until October 10 and Rage In The Cage.
