Friday Night at the Mid-South Coliseum
01/29/2016
The Mid-South Coliseum buzzes with activity and the excitement is palpable.
The lights go dark, the crowd shrouded in black that causes everyone to hold their breath for what is next.
Suddenly the mat inside the ring lights up with vignettes of past Memphis Wrestling greats. The crowd is enraptured as the battles of old play out before their eyes.
Then darkness once again...
A spotlight shines on one man in the middle of the ring, his majestic cape hangs over his shoulders and he has a crown under one arm.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I – the man known as the King of Memphis – welcome you back HOME to the true mecca of professional wrestling. THE MID-SOUTH COLISEUM!"
The lights come back up full, pyros explode from the stage down, down the entrance ramp, and around the ring.
"Tonight you will see the beginning of what is the REINVENTION of TRADITION."
The crowd hangs on Jerry 'The King' Lawler's every word.
"Tonight, we do AWAY with the term Sports Entertainment and find our way back to what made this sport great. PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING!"
The crowd begins to chant 'KING' and Lawler takes a second to absorb the adoration of the Memphis crowd.
"Thank you all for joining us on this journey of reinvention!"
Lawler says nothing more before exiting the ring. He walks around the ringside area shaking the hands of the fans there before sitting down at the announce table.
Jerry Lawler – Here we go, man am I excited. Joining me is Kevin Kelly and we are both ready to get this night started.
Kevin Kelly – Let me be the first to congratulate you King on finally making this vision a reality.
Jerry Lawler – Kevin, I tell you it has been a long time coming. These fans here in Memphis are the best in the world and they deserved to have this back.
Kevin Kelly – It is clear that there isn't a person in this building who isn't ready to see your product.
Jerry Lawler – Our product Kevin, the new Memphis Wrestling is all about what we can do together to honor the tradition of this sport and to create new history that is worth remembering.
Jason Kincaid Vs T.J. Perkins
SUMMARY:
Back and forth action that saw the larger Kincaid try to use his power to keep Perkins grounded. Perkins was quick though and punished Kincaid over and over with educated kicks to the anatomy of Kincaid.
THE CALL:
Kevin Kelly – Perkins with a huge superkick to Kincaid and I think that maybe just about the end King.
Jerry Lawler - Ha, yeah, he split Kincaid's beard with that one.
Kevin Kelly – Perkins climbing to the top, but no! Kincaid manages to shakes the ropes and Perkins is straddling the ropes in pain.
Jerry Lawler – This may be used as evidence in any future child support cases. You are NOT the Father!
Kevin Kelly – Kincaid sends Perkins into the ropes, big clothesline –NO Perkins ducks and hits Kincaid with a Detonation Kick! Kincaid is out cold and Perkins picks up the pin.
WINNER VIA PIN TJ PERKINS
The Sons of War (Cody Hall & Gunner Vicious) Vs World Class (Elliot Russell & Jax Dane)

Hard hitting bout that the crowd was into from the start. Jax Dane looked like the world travelled veteran that he is but in the end The Sons of War were too much.
THE CALL:
Kevin Kelly – Elliot Russell is just overpowered in there.
Jerry Lawler – He is going to be feeling some of this punishment for awhile.
Kevin Kelly – Cody Hall has Russell in the center of the ring and motions to the crowd. Outsider's Edge! Jax Dane runs in to save his partner but Vicious catches him - POWERBOMB! Hall makes the cover and it's academic at this point.

THE CALL:
Kevin Kelly – Shinsuke Nakamura is one of the top wrestlers and mixed martial artists in the world.
Jerry Lawler – He has a look only his mother could love, I know that much.

The Wyatt Family (Eric Rowan & Luke Harper) Vs Colt Cabana & Yoshi-Hashi
SUMMARY:
Colt Cabana came out to entertain the crowd with his usual comedic banter but was quickly silenced by a high drop kick from Harper that almost took his head off. The Wyatts would then spend most of the match punishing Cabana until he made the hot tag to Yoshi-Hashi. The end came when Cabana ducked a super kick from Rowan that knocked Harper off the ring apron. Cabana would hit Rowan with a bionic elbow and then get the tap-out win with the Chicago Crab. After the match Harper would shove Rowan and the two men would stare each other down from several seconds.
THE CALL:
Kevin Kelly – Rowan misses Cabana and sends Harper flying outside.
Jerry Lawler – I think he just knocked his partner out cold!
Kevin Kelly – Cabana spins Rowan around, bionic elbow! He locks on the Chicago crab and Rowan has to tap-out!
Jerry Lawler – I like this Cabana kid.
Kevin Kelly – Well Cabana and Yoshi-Hashi pick up the win but Harper is back in the ring and is not happy with Eric Rowan.

MAIN EVENT
Timothy Thatcher Vs Roman Reigns Vs Bray Wyatt
SUMMARY:
A very physical match that saw Thatcher tossed out of the ring for a good majority of time while Reigns and Wyatt beat each other down. Wyatt would hit Sister Abigail on Reigns and would look to be about to win but Thatcher would break up the count before finally also succumbing to Wyatt's finisher.
The fight would continue after the bell rang.
THE CALL:
Kevin Kelly – Thatcher breaks up the count and goes the Fujiwara armbar. He has it locked in deep King, Thatcher came in as the underdog in the match and just might pull it off.
Jerry Lawler – I'm not sure Bray is smart enough to tap-out before Thatcher breaks his arm.
Kevin Kelly – Wyatt looks like he might get out of this and he does. He punches Thatcher in throat, SISTER ABIGAIL. Wyatt is going to pick up the win here and he gets the pin on Thatcher.
Jerry Lawler – That throat punch was a thing of beauty.
Kevin Kelly – Bray raises his arm in the center of the ring. Roman is back in the ring! Superman Punch on Wyatt! He stands over Wyatt! Thatcher attacks from behind and locks on the Thatcher Stretch as Roman yells in pain!
Jerry Lawler – I don't think these guys are done with each other yet!
Kevin Kelly – Well here comes some of our security forcing Thatcher to release the hold. This battle might be over King but I think the war between these three men is just beginning.
