Airing LIVE on FX!
Los Angeles, CA
Welcome to the Scorch Zone!
We start off the show with Josh Mathews and CM Punk at the announcer's table, giving us a run down and welcoming us to the first edition of “ERUPTION on FX!” We then hear some theme music and out to the ring comes John “Bradshaw” Layfield, the General Manager of the National Wrestling Alliance! JBL says that Triple H sent him here to personally evaluate the talents here for the big Interim World Heavyweight title tournament coming up.
The fans cheer hugely as the next man makes his way out, Chris Jericho! Chris Jericho says he has been appointed the new GM of Ring of Fire, and he says he personally guarantees that Ring of Fire will be presenting the best show possible week in and week out, and that JBL will not be disappointed! JBL says he certainly hopes not, in a sort of sarcastic tone, as he is clearly unimpressed with Jericho and his enthusiasm for Ring of Fire.
1. Kofi Kingston defeats Sonjay Dutt after hitting the S.O.S. Kingston and Dutt had a high speed contest that was basically a short display to get Kingston over with the fans. Dutt blew a springboard dive spot at one point that really stood out because of how short this match was, and it kind of hampered things. Dutt would try another springboard later in the match, but would get caught with the Trouble in Paradise mid-move by Kingston, who followed up with the S.O.S. to get the pinfall victory.

Kevin Steen can be seen at home, his leg wrapped in a brace and a cast. Kevin has his big gold championship sitting on his lap, and he looks almost casual, if not somewhat annoyed.
Kevin Steen:
Struck down at my greatest moment... how about that? What a coincidence. Samoa Joe, you're jealousy, it's completely warranted. And now that I know you've got what amounts to a two week vacation before the Interim Heavyweight title tournament comes, I think it's pretty clear what's going on here. Joe, you're the champion they want. The champion of the past, the status quo. You're comfortable, you're safe. They know how to control you, so they'll let you run rampant... until they decide they're done with you, and then you'll end up like me. Well, Joe, I'm sorry but I'm not sorry to say, you're future is looking pretty bleak. You might end up with some fake little belt, some meaningless placeholder of a title, but one way or another, you're going down.

2. The American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) defeat Blake & Murphy w/ Alexa after hitting the Force of Nature. The Wolves have been a target of many teams around the Alliance as of late, but showed good focus here tonight in taking on the young and very aggressive team of Blake & Murphy. Murphy showed some great psychology in this match, at one point brilliantly faking an injury only to use a throat thrust and a roll-up to get a near fall on Richards. Alexa would try to get involved at one point, only to get knocked off the apron after Edwards dropkicked Blake to the back, sending him colliding with her. Blake would later suffer the wrath of the Force of Nature, and the Wolves would come out victorious.

3. Asuka & Becky Lynch defeat Sasha Banks & Alicia Fox after Lynch makes Fox tap to the Dis-arm-her. Asuka and Lynch made for a deadly combination, while Banks and Fox had a lot of spunk and attitude, with Banks showing some great work ethic and charisma. Fox was clearly jealous of her partner and began showing some resentment. Banks would end up getting caught by a high spin kick on the outside by Asuka to take her out, leaving Fox without back up as she was caught in the Dis-arm-her by the sensational Lynch, tapping out quickly once she realized she was not to be saved.
After the match, Fox would shove Banks and tell her off, only to get caught by Banks with a Lungblower soon after, which Sasha rolled into the Bak Statement, holding Fox for a few moments of excruciating pain before letting go and posing over her fallen body to the cheer of the crowd.
Backstage, we see reDRagon preparing for their match tonight. Fish says that at StarrCade, they did what they set out to do and proved to the world they are the greatest tag team in wrestling today. He says even if some are jealous around the league, it doesn't matter, because the belts don't lie! O'Reilly says he got a little emotional at StarrCade and went on a tirade about the Young Bucks, the men who attacked them during their match with the Briscoes, but says tonight, reDRagon is focused on the Usos and getting the job done between the ropes, title or no title on the line.

4. Finn Balor defeats Low Ki after hitting the Bloody Sunday. This was an excellent match by both men that went to right around the 10 minute mark, but the fans couldn't get enough. Ki would show off his wide array of kicks and strikes throughout, but the heart of Finn Balor and his explosiveness and never say die attitude are what really got over with the fans here. Both men would try to hit their patented Diving Double Stomp finishers, but neither could connect. Balor would end eating a Tidal Crush from Ki late in the match, which Ki tried to follow up with the Ki Krusher, only to have Balor reverse it and hit a Pele Kick, followed by the Bloody Sunday, and that was enough for the three count! These guys got a big ovation from the Los Angeles crowd here, and rightfully so.
Backstage, we see Seth Rollins getting ready for his match with Sami Zayn. John “Bradshaw” Layfield approaches him, and says he's been watching his work and really admires what he's been doing. Rollins thanks JBL and says he finds himself often looking to his past work and the past work of Triple H in all of his illustrious achievements to find motivation night in and night out. JBL gives him a pat on the back and says he thinks he has a bright future, before walking off, while Rollins smirks out of the side of his mouth, nodding his head a bit as he watches the GM of the NWA walk off, obviously feeling satisfied with that bit of brown nosing.

5. Seth Rollins defeats Sami Zayn after hitting the Pedigree. Rollins would get a lot of heat throughout this match with his heel tactics, bad mouthing the crowd as they booed him and constantly yelling at Zayn to give up as would choke him and stomp him. Zayn would show the heart that has endeared him to so many, fighting back and getting fired up to keep the crowd behind him. Zayn looked like he may have the match in hand, having hit the T-Bone Suplex into the buckles and attempting the Helluva Kick, only to have Rollins avoid it by sliding through the ropes and then catching him with a kick of his own. Rollins would springboard and attempt his Flying Knee Strike, but Zayn would dodge it and grab him from behind. Rollins would grab the referee to try to keep himself from being taken over and then hit a low Mule Kick out of the ref's sight to turn the tides and get huge boos from the fans! Rollins would then yell out, “This one is for the boss!” before pulling Zayn in and planting him with the Pedigree, getting loud boos as he smugly smiled and counted to three, parading to the back as Zayn looked on with fire in his eyes, clearly wanting to right this wrong as soon as possible.

6. Non-Title Match: reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) defeats The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso) after Jey got hit a High Spin Kick from Fish. This was a very spirited affair, with both teams trying to pull out all of the stops to get the win. Fish and O'Reilly would cut off the ring early, working over Jimmy, before Jimmy made the hot tag to bring in Jey and the two would clear things out like a house on fire! Jimmy would try to go up top to hit the Samoan Splash on Fish at one point, but O'Reilly would shove him off and into the guard rail on the outside, taking him out of the match! Jey would try to attack O'Reilly on the mat, only to get caught in a Hanging Triangle Choke! O'Reilly would let this go and Fish would catch Jey with a High Spin Kick, knocking him out for the three count! reDRagon look good in the end, holding their titles up and mouthing that nobody can stop them, and for everyone to bring it on!
