Interview with CPW Champion Del Rio
ADR came out and spoke down on the fans of Puebla, Mexico. He said they lacked the class of people of his home town, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. He said that the peasants who live here are the dirtiest of the dirty, lowest of the low. He siad there was no way he would disgraces himself to get into the ring with some ....
At that point the lights dimmed and out walked Rey Mysterio Jr.! Rey said he took offence to the garbage that was oozing from the sewage pile planted on Del Rio's face! Rey challenged Del Rio to a match, a match for the CPW Championship. Del Rio initially refused the challenge, but Rey goated him in by calling him chicken, a coward and afraid of a 'little man'! Del Rio finally accepted the match, only that it be a traditional Mexican match, having best of three falls!
6 Man Tag Team Match
Psycho Clown, Murder Clown & Monster Clown -v- Jack Swagger and the Can-Am Express
It was "Doink Family Reunion' of sorts as the three evil clowns faced off again three of North America's best wrestlers. The CPW
team nearly came away with the win, until Evan Sydal interfered and tripped up Swagger, allowing Psycho Clown to hit his Ura-nage for the win (12:57)
One on One Match
Juventud Guerrera -v- Christopher Daniels
A match of 'The Past vs The Present'. The fans were more or less split on who they wanted to win, as Juvi was the hero in this match while Daniels played the role of Rudo. But even with that, both men were loved for the athletic prowess he displayed. In
the end, Juvi was able to land the Juvi Driver to score the upset win in this encounter! (12:01) After the match Daniels attacked Juvi and left him in the ring following the Angels Wings!
Reina de Reinas Championship Match
Sexy Star (C) -v- Victoria
Sexy Star was the smaller of the two ladies, and Victoria used that advantage. She dominated the Reina de Reinas Champion. Star was able to battle back, but Victoria was able to overcome the champion. In the end, Victoria had Sexy Star set up for the Widows Peak, when Daffney made her return and assisted Star in retaining her championship! (7:42)
CPW Heavyweight Championship Match
2 out of 3 falls
Alberto Del Rio (c) -v- Rey Mysterio Jr.
The Main Event of the night was nothing short of a great match. Rey used his speed to keep the champion off balance for a good
portion of the match. He was able to get the first fall using a his recent finisher the 619! (8:45)
The second fall was a slower, more methodical dissection of the challenger on the part of Del Rio. He proved in this fall why he
has been dubbed 'One of the most dangerous men in the NWA', as he targeted the arm and shoulder of Rey following the 2 minute rest period. Del Rio was quick to get on the offense, attacking Rey before the full 120 seconds were up, nearly getting disqualified for it. Del Rio used arm breakers and even a camel/cobra clutch combo to try and pull Rey's arm from its socket. Finally, Del Rio was able to put away his challenger with a Kimura! (15:21)
The third fall, again went back and forth, but with Rey favoring his injured arm. Del Rio, must have started to suffer the effects of the earlier 619, as he was staggering a bit in this final fall. Rey came close to ending the match following another 616, but Del Rio was able to avoid the West Coast Pop and roll up Rey for the 3 count to retain! (20:25)
As Del Rio is handed his championship, he doped it and locked on his Cross arm breaker on Mysterio and refused to let go!! The referee warns Del Rio! The referee disqualifies Del Rio and awards the fall, match and title (?!?) to Rey Mysterio!! Del Rio is going CRAZY and the fans are cheering wildly as the show fades out!!
