NWA Hybrid Pro TV 09/06/2012 Results
Welcome to NWA Hybrid Pro TV. We have a huge card of action for you tonight, including our main event, as Shinsuke Nakamura defends his NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight championship against Super Dragon in a truly hybrid matchup!
We see one of the wrestlers receiving a tryout tonight, A.C.H, in the ring. He is about to cut a promo to introduce himself, but before he can, Ryback makes his way to the ring.
Tryout Series
Ryback vs ACH
I feel sorry for ACH, as much as he is a talented wrestler, he was utterly no match for the force that is Ryback. Ryback showcased all of his big power moves, including a devastating Clothesline that turn ACH inside out, and a nasty Double Powerbomb. Ryback mercifully finished it with the Shell Shocked. FEED ME MORE!
Winner- Ryback
Tryout Series
Brandon Bonham vs Husky Harris
The tryout series is a simple concept: a free agent faces a signed wrestler, and if the free agent wins he takes the place of the signed wrestler on the roster. Harris is a talented power wrestler, very comparable to Terry Gordy in terms of style, and he gave Bonham quite a challenge. Bonham's high flying skills however allowed him to keep up with Harris. He went for the World of Pain, but before he could hit the move, Bo Rotunda leapt out of the crowd and attacked Bonham, leading to a DQ win for Bonham.
Winner- Brandon Bonham by DQ from outside interference
Harris and Rotunda gave Bonham a nasty 2 on 1 beatdown, before Super Dragon ran in to make the save, helping a fellow Socal talent.
Tag Team Warfare
Team UK (Jonny Storm and Jody Fleisch) vs Middle Aged and Crazy (Ace Steel and Chad Collyer)
Ace Steel is the latest wrestler to receive a tryout, getting to tag alongside Chad Collyer against the UK team of Jonny Storm and Jody Fleisch. Storm and Fleisch were as fast paced as expected, hitting lots of big high flying moves, but Steel and Collyer were as no nonsense as it comes, reigning in the high flyers and wearing them down on the mat. Steel would take Storm down with the Spinal Shock, then Collyer locked in the Texas Cloverleaf, and Storm had no choice but to tap.
Winners- Middle Aged and Crazy
Post match Steel and Collyer got microphones.
Steel: We may both be middle aged, and we may both be crazier than any wrestler in the world today, but this only makes us dangerous. We are a team like no other, and soon we will be holding gold.
Collyer: That's right Jung Dragons, we're coming for you and your titles. In fact to save yourselves from a beatdown you can't recover from, you should just hand the belts on over to us!
Steel: If you don't, then we will take the belts by force!
Middle Aged and Crazy certainly made a statement here tonight, and we can already confirm that their challenge will be accepted by whichever team wins tonights Tag Team Title match.
Youth vs Experience
Kyle Matthews vs Charlie Haas
Matthews made quite a statement last week by defeating Carlito, who has since left NWA Hybrid Pro to join California Pro, and this week he took on another man who was victorious last week in Charlie Haas. Haas schooled his young opponent through some matwork, with Matthews showing those occasional signs of greatness, but he wasn't quite on Haas's level in that regard. Matthews however was faster, and his Dropkicks were some of the best we've seen, and that quickness stood him in good stead. Haas nailed a devastating German Suplex, planting Matthews on top of his head, and signalled for the Haas of Pain. He locked it in, but Matthews was too close to the ropes and Haas had to break it. He went for another German, but Matthews turned it into a Victory Roll, 1-2-3, MATTHEWS WINS!
Winner- Kyle Matthews
Another huge upset for Matthews, and Haas can't believe it. He looks like he's going to deck Matthews post match, but instead shakes his hands and applauds. Matthews proved with this that last week wasn't a fluke.
Lucha Libre Tag Team Match
Juventud Guerrera and Psychosis vs Aerostar and La Sombra
Guerrera and Psychosis were angered that the rookie luchador Aerostar defeated them last week, and they challenged him to get a tag team partner and face them in a tag match, to prove he can beat them more than once. Aerostar answered by getting another top lucha prospect in La Sombra to be his tag partner. Much like the 3 way match, Juvi and Psychosis took a lot less risks than Aerostar and Sombra did, instead trying to keep the match on the ground, while Aerostar and Sombra flew around and were practically willing to die to win the match. And in an upset, they managed to do just that, when Psychosis accidentally hat Juvi with a Spinning Heel Kick, and he walked right into the Brillante Driver from Sombra who got the win.
Winners- Aerostar and La Sombra
Juventud Guerrera was fuming post match, grabbing Psychosis and dropping him with the Juvi Driver! He got the microphone.
Juvi: The Juice does not have to take this. Psychosis, you always drop the ball, you were always the loser when we wrestled and you have always been the loser when we've teamed. Well its time to make you a loser for the last time. Next week we will wrestle, and when you lose yet again, you will have been run out of NWA Hybrid Pro by the true king of the luchadors, The Juice!
Grudge Match, Loser Leaves NWA Hybrid Pro
Petey Williams vs Drew McIntyre
The Commonwealth exploded in this match, which all came about after McIntyre blamed Williams for their loss in the finals of the Tag Team Tournament. Williams came out on fire in this one, going for a Canadian Destroyer early on, but McIntyre slowly reeled him in and wore him down with a few rest holds. Williams did managed to lock in the Sharpshooter at one point, but McIntyre got to the ropes, and when Williams went for another Canadian Destroyer, McIntyre got the Future Shock and that was enough to pin him, and force William to leave Hybrid Pro!
Winner- Drew McIntyre
We head backstage where Cibernetico is lying in a darkened room.
Cibernetico: All my life, I've been trying to find a purpose, a reason for being in this business. Every day I've been tortured by my past failures, by the harsh words of those around me, who didn't believe in me, who didn't think I belonged in this industry, and who never let me fulfil my potential. But I am no longer alone. I found another man who has been shunned, another man who never truly reached his potential, and another who has been called a disgrace. Unlike me, this man got those opportunities I didn't, but because of the pressure of others, and the pressures to succeed, he self-destructed, the industry destroyed him and his career. Together as true antichrists of wrestling, we will bring the sport to its knees, and help bring about a new era, an era where we will both be accepted and rule over the NWA as it kings. You could call it, THE DIGITAL ERA!
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match
The Jung Dragons (Jimmy Yang and Kaz Hayashi) vs Los Maximos (Joel and Jose Maximo)
Los Maximos were declared the number one contenders after having a very impressive showing against the champions in the semi finals of the Title Tournament last week. They again more than matched the champions in this contest, it was a very evenly matched contest from start to finish, with some unique double team moves to go alongside all the signature high flying moves you'd expect. The champions retained their titles when Hayashi dropped Jose with the Final Cut and Yang followed it up with the Yang Time, which got the pinfall victory.
Winners- Still NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Champions, The Jung Dragons
NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title Match
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Super Dragon
Going in, Dragon might not have been looked at as an even match for a world class athelete like Nakamura, but by the end of this contest everyone knew that Dragon can match the very best wrestlers in the world on his day. This match was extremely hard hitting, as Dragon threw some vicious punches and forearms, and Nakamura hat some very stiff kicks, and both dropped each other on their heads with some nasty moves. The referee took a bump in the corner when Dragon missed a charge, and Nakamura hat a big kick to take Dragon to the canvas. He called for the Bona Ye, but Dragon avoided it, grabbed Nakamura and dropped him with the Psycho Driver! Dragon has the 3 count but there's no ref. He tries to revive the ref, but here comes Bo Rotunda and Husky Harris! Bo takes Dragon down with a Spear, and Harris follows it up with the Running Senton! They put Nakamura on top, revive the ref and he counts 3!
Winner- Shinsuke Nakamura
Brandon Bonham runs down with a chair to chase off the Rotunda's, but he's too late to save Dragon from losing this match that he had won. When Nakamura comes around and realises what happened, he begs the referee to restart the match so there can be a clean winner, but he's having none of it. Nakamura then promises Dragon a rematch in the near future.
Next week Dragon will have his shot at revenge, as he teams with Brandon Bonham to face the Rotundas. Also coming up next week, The Jung Dragons defend the Hybrid Pro Tag Team Titles against Middle Aged and Crazy, Juventud Guerrera vs Psychosis, plus much more.
