The show starts off with Josh Mathews and his broadcast partner, the legendary William Regal. Josh Mathews talks about how amazing East vs. West turned out, and how hot the crowd was the following night for the Great American Bash where CM Punk successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship infront of his home promotion crowd. Also at the Bash we crowned new World Tag Team Champions as The Rockstars of Wrestling were able to knock off FutureShock! Tonight we're going to find out who will face the Rockstars at Summer Series in round one of a small tournament.
Mathews gets somber as he has to sadly report that if you watched the recent Hybrid Pro show, Jon Moxley has joined the anarchists of wrestling and threw the NWA East Coast championship in the trash. NWA President and NWA East Coast owner Dustin Smith voiced his displeasure pubicly on his twitter acount, and signed tonights main event between Moxley and El Generico for the NWA East Coast championship!
The Renegades played to the crowd a lot having a great time when they could as they faced off against a vile and ruthless Batiri. Sugar D and Famous B were a very cohesive team and Dunkerton used some sweet moves that resulted in him ducking a shot of black mist from Kodama who sprayed Obariyon in the eyes accidently! Famous B came flying out of nowhere to blast Kodama with a clothesline as Sugar Dunkerton rolled up the blinded Obariyon for a three count to advance!
The NWA World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk comes out followed by his lackeys, Eli Cottonwood and Steven Richards. The champ gets in the ring with a microphone holding the World title over his shoulder beaming proudly as he lookds around at the crowd. Punk announced that at the Great American Bash he had to step into the ring with three of the best that the NWA had to offer and he walked out the same way he came in, the World Heavyweight Champion. This title in the hands of a lesser man, would make them a victim, a target but not Punk. He's the best in the world and holding the championship just shows that everything he's ever said is legit. It's not boasting if you can back it up, and Punk says that he can most certainly back up every claim he makes. He's a speaker and bringer of truth and the truth is there isn't a man alive that can take the title away from him. So come one and all, step up and be humbled by the best in the world.[/color]
Anderson and Ryan were all buisness attacking the dancing tandem of DDR on the ramp, both teams brawled at ringside before finally spilling in the ring for the bell, officially starting the match. Anderson and Ryan kept Shockwave the Robot in their corner for a lot of match with quick tags, until Shockwave initiated a "hot tag" protocal on his wrist keypad allowing him to fight off both men long enough to leap for the tag out to Hulk who came in cleaning house! DDR looked to be in firm control until out of nowhere Anderson planted Hulk with a brutal spinebuster giving his team the victory.
This match was as violent as NWA East Coast has ever seen! Danny Havoc is a wildman who doesn't care about anyone or anything, before he got in the ring he shoved a fan down and took his chair bringing it into the ring to battle with Kussion, who paced around the ring like a caged animal before the opening bell. Kussion was cautious as Havoc brandished the chair like excalibur, but eventually Havoc would just toss the chair at Kussion using the distraction to rush the Modern Day Barbarian! The match continued with both men bringing chairs into the match to try to knock the other ones head off, eventually breaking down one point into a duel with chairs! Kussion won the exchange and dented the chair over the skull of Havoc busting him wide open! The match was thrown out however as Havoc grabbed the face of Kussion trying to jam his thumbs into the eye sockets of his opponent in an attempt to pop out his eyes?!?! The ref threw himself into Havoc as security rushed the ring! Havoc kicked, punched, bit and clawed at everything he could reach as he was led to the back by about six security guards!
After such a brutal match, the gears shifted as the ladies of NWA East Coast took to the ring. Even though AJ and Christina had a few matches to try to settle things they still had a lot of bad blood and it ended up hurting them in this match. Kaitlynn and Katie weren't the best tag team but thier opponents were so at odds they didn't have to be. The team of Lee and Von Eerie broke down so bad that Von Eerie refused to let Lee tag out as she hopped off the apron letting Kaitlynn and Katie pick AJ apart with Burchill nailing a backstabber on AJ giving her team an easy victory.
This match was full of intensity and speed as these guys tried to steal the show with their unique styles being put on display. Callihan is smash mouth while Bonham likes to dazzle with a lucha kamikaze style, and the crowd was on their feet. The match was fought in and out of the ring, Bonham hopped on the guard rail and hit a flip senton landing on his feet and earned the fans respect as they cheered him on! That is until Callihan nailed him with a lariat that caused Bonham to do a flip! Callihan proped Bonham up on the guard rail, took off full speed and planted his boot in the side of Bonham's head making the guard rail slide into the first row fans! Somehow Bonham was able to rally back after that brutal assault and hit a barrage of kicks that put Callihan to one knee where Bonham snapped off this basement enziguri for a near fall! Bonham tried to finish the match off going to the top rope for his swanton but Callihan quickly got to his feet and scurried up the ropes to snap off a belly to belly suplex on Bonham off the top rope. Callihan was immediatly on Bonham slapping on a horse collar submission, stomping on the side of Bonhams head until he had no choice but to submit!
After the match Callihan got on the mic and got in the camera mans face, telling Paul London that he's coming for the NWA East Coast X division title! He's the New Horror, the Callihan Death Machine, and the next X division champion! With that said Callihan spit on the camera lens as the show went to a commercial for the NWA East Coast shop! Where you can purchase the double pack of East vs. West and the Great American Bash!
The Renegades of Funk looked extremely focused knowing that they have the chance to challenge the Rockstars of Wrestling at Summer Series. Anderson and Ryan like the match earlier with DDR cut off the ring keeping Dunkerton isolated as Famous B freaked out on the apron desperatly trying to help get Sugar D out of the match and turn the tide for his team. Joey Ryan put on a clinic stretching Dunkerton just out of the reach of Famous B, taunting him until Sugar D was able to fight his way out of a sleeper hold getting the tag to Famous B who came in on fire knocking both Anderson and Ryan around the ring! The match ended up breaking down as Famous B tossed Anderson out of the ring isolating Joey Ryan, Dunkerton planted Ryan with a huge sky high as Famous B followed up seconds later with a massive elbow from the top rope for the win!
El Generico represented NWA East Coast, but Moxley looked so determined to keep the title "where it belongs". Moxley seemed to be looking ahead towards Punk which allowed Generico to suprise him more than once. Generico was quick and picked his spots as best as he could against the reigning NWA East Coast champion. Generico snapped off a huge mafia kick for a near fall causing Moxley to finally realize that his title reign could end so quickly. Generico went to the top rope for the 450 but Moxley shoved the ref into the ropes making Generico crotch himself on the top! Moxley was able to pull Generico off the top with a spinning powerbomb for a long two count. Moxley was beside himself when the powerbomb didn't get it done but was immediatly all over Generico peppering him with wild punches until the ref pulled him back. Generico got fed up and returned the favor as both men rolled around the mat throwing punches! The ref ended up getting tripped up bumping to the mat as both men rolled under him, with the ref down Moxley used a low blow on Generico when both men were getting to their feet. Mox used the finger gun execution, leaning back in the corner catching his breath waiting to strike, and as soon as Generico could look up at him he snapped off the Boma Ye! The ref finally realized what was going on in time to count the three!
After the three count Moxley's evil grin creeped across his face as he immediatly went for a microphone demanding his music be cut. Moxley talked about how he's the top guy in this company, he's won the NWA East Coast title but he wants more... He plans on taking over the world, and he plans on challenging and beating CM Punk for the World Heavyweight title at Summer Series, that is if Punk has the guts to step in the ring with a man that is superior to him in every way. The challenge is issued, will Punk accept? We'll find out next week!
