The show opens with the end of the show last week with NWA East Coast champion, Jon Moxley scoring with the Boma Ye to the skull of El Generico in brutal fashion before challenging the NWA World Heavyweight champion at Summer Series! That's how the show opened but quickly changed gears to NWA East Coast owner and NWA President, Dustin Smith sitting at his desk. Mr. Smith announced that he's denying Moxley's challenge to CM Punk, and instead Moxley will have to defend the title that he disrespected by throwing it in the trash against an opponent that will be revealed next week! As for CM Punk, he'll have to defend his championship against the winner of tonights match between "The Modern Day Barbarian" Khan Kussion and "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson! Now let's start the show!
This was an exciting match with Bonham using his suicidal and speedy style to hit MASADA from every angle, until MASADA was able to grab a fist full of Bonham's hair whipping him to the mat hard. MASADA was all over Bonham from that point keeping the high flyer on the mat keeping him out of his comfort zone. MASADA kept going back to grabbing the hair of Bonham despite the ref's warning's as he made sure he kept Bonham within arms reach. MASADA ended up taking a violent kick to the top of the head from Bonham who started to gain steam springboarding off the ropes with a disaster kick! Bonham started to feel the crowd's cheers as he came off the ropes throwing a huge clothesline that MASADA was able to duck! MASADA grabbed Bonham for a Regalplex which kind of pissed off Regal at ringside but Bonham was able to push off with his free leg throwing himself over MASADA, landing on his feet throwing a huge kick to the side of MASADA before hitting the front flip piledriver to score a great win in tonights opening contest!
After the match Bonham smiled through the pain holding himself up with the ropes as the Embassy; Prince Nana, UHAA Nation, Ernesto Osiris, and Shane Hagedorn come to the ring surrounding Bonham as MASADA rolls out of the ring clutching his neck heading to the back as UHAA Nation and Prince Nana approach Bonham who looks ready to fight his way out of this situation. A smile appears on the face of Nana as he hugs Bonham, Shane Hagedorn holds a mic for Nana who congraduates Bonham on his impressive win, and then apologizes for ending things with Bonham in the past but he wants to bring Bonham back as "The Embassy's favorite son" Bonham looked a bit apprehensive looking around at the sheer numbers around him before shaking the hand of Nana who looks so proud of his resigning.
This was a lightning fast contest between two high flying teams with what ended up using lucha style rules as guys where flying in and out of the ring trying to get a big pay off with high risk! Perkins hit a huge suicide dive on Kodama but as soon as he got up Obariyon took a front flip over the top onto Perkins and with the Batiri and Perkins on the outside, Kaz climbed to the top rope diving onto everyone! The match continued that way with everyone trying to one up the other with the ending coming with Kaz hitting a complete shot into a submission hold forcing Kodama to tap out!
After the match Kaz and Perkins got on opposite corners standing on the second rope and motioning that they want the belts. No team in NWA East Coast knows the Rockstars of Wrestling better than SoCal speed and they've had the World Tag Team champions numbers before they could very well have them again!
These three ladies wanted to put on a good showing since they'll be under similar rules at Summer Series when Christina Von Eerie and AJ Lee will also be involved in a match with title implications, since the winner will get a title shot at an upcoming JPP show! The pace was decent with all three ladies getting atleast one opportunity to dominate the contest, but Katie Lea went to the top and ended up getting shoved off tumbling down onto the apron and to the outside allowing Layla to position and snap off the diamond dust on Kaitlynn to pick up the victory!
Sami Callihan wasn't happy at all with the fact that he had to team with the Renegades of Funk and tried to take on the entire other team by himself. Callihan is a hell of a fighter but DDR and the X division champion Paul London are a tall order for any man! Shockwave nailed Callihan with a static shock leg drop for a near fall, forcing a war weary Callihan to finally tag out to both Famous B and Sugar D who rushed the ring as DDR entered the ring starting a wild fight between both tag teams! While the ref was tied up with that, London entered the ring and started fighting with his opponent at Summer Series, Sami Callihan! The tag teams spilled out of the ring as London and Callihan went toe to toe in the middle of the ring! London was able to break away from the fist fight nailing a dropsault before climbing to the top rope looking for the shooting star press but The Renegades of Funk pulled Callihan out of the ring! They thought they were doing Callihan a favor but once Sami realized what happened he was livid walking out on the match cussing his partners the entire way.
Kussion was in a bad way, but you have to admire his fighting spirit. Last week he was in a brutal free fight with Danny Havoc who tried to pop the Modern Day Barbarian's eye out, this week Kussion had a patch over his eye and that made things very difficult as he faced off against one of the best pure wrestlers in the world today. Kussion is an animal in the ring and a wounded animal fights even harder. Danielson dominated the wrestling in this match but Kussion would drag the American Dragon to his level using chairs to equalize the match. Danielson would stay in the blind spot of Kussion who would have to make more of an effort to keep eye contact with Danielson but ended up being locked up in a crossface chickenwing from the submission specialist. Kussion would swing and claw at the arm of Danielson around his throat but it wasn't enough as Kussion was forced to submit.
After the match the NWA World Heavyweight champion stepped out applauding Danielson's victory, knowing that his long time friend would be the one to step into the ring with him at Summer Series! Danielson looked confused, as Punk waved someone from the back. "The Scumbag Outlaw" Danny Havoc came out rushing the ring trying to finish the job on Kussion's eye. Danielson tried to help Kussion but ended up getting hit from behind as Punk blasts him with the NWA World Heavyweight title! Refs, wrestlers, security, even William Regal rushed into the ring pulling Havoc off of Kussion as Josh Mathews sent the show to a break.
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
The Rockstars of Wrestling(Jimmy Rave & Jason Hades)(c) w/ Lena Yada def. Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson & Joey "Magnum" Ryan
Last week there was a mini-tournament to find out who would face the NWA World Tag Team champions at Summer Series. The Renegades of Funk won the mini tournament by defeating the team of Anderson and Ryan but these two would get a chance against the Rockstars of Wrestling on a smaller stage. The Rockstars came out with the beautiful Lena Yada who wore a very skimpy bikini with the tag titles strategically placed over her top and waist. The champions "stripped" the belts off of her holding the titles high. They really embraced their roles as champions as they defended the titles against a very talented team. The challengers have a combined 22 years of experience as they tried to control the ring and upset the champions in their first title defense in NWA East Coast. Lena Yada was a constant factor in this match doing her best for her clients as she distracted the ref whenever her team looked to be in trouble. Jason Hades would clap his hand hard behind the refs back making it sound like Rave actually tagged out saving his partner from a further attack at the hands of the challengers as he attacked Anderson from behind. The Rockstars took control from that point on with quick tags that had Anderson cut off from Ryan. The finish came after Hades snapped off the Killswitch popping up Joey Ryan who then took a pedigree from Rave as Jason Hades cut off Anderson from breaking up the pin as the Rockstars defended their titles!
Josh Mathews thanked everyone for watching as the Rockstars of Wrestling celebrate with the titles, Mathews adds that next week it will be CM Punk & Danny Havoc facing off against Bryan Danielson & Khan Kussion in the main event!
