So i don't consider this my best work as I'm lacking a bit of focus at the moment, and i didn't use about half of my roster, but the show was getting seriously long so i didn't want to drag it out too much. I might do an episode of Sunrise at some point this week to use the other guys, or maybe a house show or something. Anyway I hope you enjoy this show.
NWA Hybrid Pro TV 18/08/2012
Before I can even write an introduction, Newgen are on their way out to the ring to a big ovation from the fans after their impressive victory over The Antichrists last week.
Sanchez: I'm not going to comment on what Johnny Gargano said last week, I don't need to as its all lies. Gargano is bitter that I didn't hand over control of Newgen to him back in the day, and wants to drive my name into the dirt, and thats all their is to it. Instead I want to comment on how we, Newgen, finally managed to get you down on the canvas Antichrists, and now we plan on finishing the job tonight. The way I see it, all we need to do to put an end to your little plans is to take away your power, and that power is the Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title, and there is one man here who wants that belt. His name is Kyle Matthews!
Matthews takes the microphone.
Matthews: Cibernetico, everyone knows i have your number. You cost me the belt the first time I had a shot at it, and now I've pinned you 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring, which means I've earned another shot. Thats why tonight I'm challenging you to a title match, you and me one on one in the middle of this ring! In fact, why dont' we do it right now, get out here and face me like a man!
Matthews looks pumped, he wants Cibernetico out here. But he doesn't come, instead Johnny Gargano comes out onto the ramp.
Gargano: Sanchez, I'm not even going to dignify what you just said with a response, you and I both know thats bullshit! What I am going to do is talk to you Kyle Matthews. You see, I don't know if your aware but I happen to hold a little thing called the Sunrise Cup. This cup guarantees me a title shot anytime this month that I want it, and the way I see it, I'm the one who's going to face Cibernetico tonight, not you. You can get in line like the rest of this promotion, this company is playing by my rules now, because I'm doing whats best for Johnny Gargano!
Matthews: Well if you wan to do whats best for you then you'll put up and shut up, as its my shot tonight. Unlike you I've beaten Cibernetico in the middle of this ring, and I know exactly what it takes to beat him.
Gargano: And if it wasn't for me and the Hurts Donut, you wouldn't have beaten him. Don't get cocky, you might have gotten some big wins lately but not without a little help along the way, and if you think your better than me I'll prove you wrong right here tonight!
John Laurinaitis then comes out with a microphone in hand.
Laurinaitis: Now I don't want to interrupt anything important, but it appears there is a dispute going on here. I have a promotion to run and I don't have time for children fighting, therefore I'm going to solve this problem the old fashioned way, with a match. Tonight it will be Johnny Gargano taking on Kyle Matthews, and the winner will face Cibernetico for the Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title next week on Hybrid Pro TV! As for the rest of The Antichrists and Newgen, I'm enforcing a curfew on you both tonight, you will all have the night off to cool down. Now lets get on with the show!
A big announcement here by the Commissioner of Hybrid Pro, who will be facing the champ next week on Hybrid Pro TV?
The Jung Dragons (Jimmy Yang and Kaz Hayashi) vs 3 Count (Shane Helms and Shannon Moore)
This was a grudge match as these two teams got into quite an intense brawl last week following a 3 way number one contenders match, which was won by York and Matthews. While maybe not the intense brawl that you would expect out of a grudge match situation such as this, it was still a very heated match, albeit it centred largely around high flying and smooth double teams. Again in what might be considered another upset, 3 Count actually got the victory over the former tag champs, as Helms hat a Shining Wizard on Yang to pin him for the 3 count.
Winners- 3 Count
Pure Wrestling Rules
Charlie Haas vs Chad Collyer
Haas and Collyer had a great technical match last week, however despite Haas's victory, Collyer said post match that Haas hadn't earned his respect, and that lead to this Pure Wrestling rules match. For those unfamiliar with Pure Wrestling rules, wrestlers only have 3 rope breaks, no closed fists are allowed and there is a 20 count on the floor. This more than matched their match from last week wrestling wise, and both showed their familiarity by countering some of the moves from their opponent that they weren't able to counter last week, yet busted out some new stuff to keep their opponent guessing. Haas was the first to use up all his rope breaks, with Collyer down to 2 at that point, then he did something that while dirty, has to be classed as a very smart move. Collyer blatantly used a closed fist punch on Haas in front of the referee, which cost him his final rope break, but he did it for a reason: this gave him enough time to lock in the Texas Cloverleaf. With Haas in serious pain and out of rope breaks, he had no choice but to tap, giving Collyer the win.
Winner- Chad Collyer
Collyer was the one to offer a handshake this time, though there was a big element of sarcasm behind it, and Haas refused, saying that he has lost respect for Collyer over how he won this match. He challenge Collyer to a final match next week to truly determine who the better wrestler is, and this time it'll be a European Rules match! Collyer accepts and we will find out who the better man really is next week!
Paul Burchill vs Damien Sandow
Sandow is a very smart man, there is absolutely no doubt about that, but in terms of power and size, he was completely outmatched by Burchill here. Combine that with how furious Burchill was after last weeks show, and Sandow did not have a great time in this match, only being able to keep up with the force that is Burchill by using those ring smarts of his, wearing down Burchill and at times sneaking in a bit of cheating with eye rakes and a low blow. By the end of the match however Burchill began to utterly dominate, and before he could hit the C4, Sandow escaped the ring and ran, heading for the back and thus allowing Burchill to win this match via countout. Some people would call that smart in this situation I guess.
Winner- Paul Burchill by countout
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match
The United Nations (Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett) vs York and Matthews (Christian York and Joey Matthews)
A good match as York and Matthews prove to be worthy challengers to The United Nations, countering their in your face brawling and technical style with high flying and expertly timed double team moves. However this match took a very bizarre turn towards the end that I don't think anybody saw coming. The ref took a bump in the corner following a mistimed charge from Matthews. Michael Shane then ran out, seemingly to attack The United nations who The group have been feuding with. Then to everyone's shock, HE SUPERKICKS YORK! Not only that, but Matthews just stands there and doesn't do anything to stop Shane, leaving the ring. McIntyre hits the Future Shock and its all over.
Winners- Still Tag Team Champions, The United Nations
Matthews gets the microphone.
Matthews: Christian, I'm sick and tired of carrying you, you've let me down every single time we've tagged and this is the last straw. I'm teaming back up with a partner who unlike you helped me win things in this business, that man being Michael Shane. Yes ladies and gentlemen, The Showstealers are back!
Shane now take a turn.
Shane: Yes thats right, one of the greatest tag team of all time are finally back together, and consider this my resignation Sandow. You told me I'd be a big star in The Group yet you made me nothing more than a lackey. Now with Joey Matthews at my side, titles will be in our future once again, not to mention we will be stealing the damn show every night!
The Showstealers pose as the fans boo, say what you will about their attitude but they certainly are a quality tag team. What will their future hold?
First Blood Match, Loser Leaves Town
Bray Wyatt vs Bo Dallas
Once again we had brother vs brother, only this time there was a lot more on the line, as not only will the loser have the humiliation of being made to bleed by their opponent, but they will also be forced to leave Hybrid Pro forever. And as expected this was a wild brawl, as Wyatt and Dallas picked up from where they left off last week and fought all over the ring, outside the ring and even into the crowd at one point, showing a complete lack of regard for safety as they were both determined to make each other bleed. This match was to take quite a twist though. As Dallas was looking to go for the Spear. RANDY ORTON RUNS OUT WITH A CHAIR! Orton smashes Dallas over the head with it! RKO ON THE CHAIR! Dallas is busted wide open, and as this was a no DQ match, the referee has no choice but to call for the bell and declare Bray Wyatt the winner. Randy Orton has shocked the world by joining Hybrid Pro and joining The Group in the process!
Winner- Bray Wyatt
Wyatt get a sick smile on his face and wipes some of the blood from his brothers face, and licks it with his hands, before painting some on himself like war paint, this man is a sick human being! Orton meanwhile looks just as crazed, it appears that the real Viper is back, and looks more vicious than he has ever done. Damien Sandow then makes his way to the ring.
Sandow: Imbeciles and delinquents, allow me to enlighten you on what you have just witnessed. You see, when Michael Shane made the most idiotic decision of his career and resigned from The Group, I just so happened to have the number of a man who is infinitely superior to him, a man who knows how to win and is as intelligent as he is vicious. That man is Randy Orton, the newest member of The Group, a man who's talent knows no bounds, and will help The Group to dominate like never before. And United Nations, consider this to be a warning to you all, continue to meddle in our affairs, and you will end up like this poor fool Bo Dallas, lying in a pool of your own blood in the middle of the ring. Your welcome!
This was quite a statement by The Group, how will The United Nations react to Orton's arrival?
Johnny Gargano vs Kyle Matthews
Arguably two of the hottest prospects in all of wrestling faced off here, knowing that the winner would be the one to face Cibernetico for the Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title next week on Hybrid Pro TV. And it was a simply excellent match, both these men laid it all on the line and gave their all, and it was at the same time a completely even contest, both in terms of wrestling skill, offense and crowd reaction, it was impossible to split them. Matthews arguably had the advantage on the mat and when the match got faster he was usually in control, however Gargano still managed to put Matthews in some nasty submissions, and used his ring smarts to outwit Matthews on many an occasion, continuing to bend the rules whenever he felt like it. However this match was to take an unexpected turn towards the end, as of all people, La Parka ran down to the ring with a chair! He smashes Gargano over the head with it, and this means that Gargano wins the match by disqualification!
Winner- Johnny Gargano by DQ
Parka laughs at Matthews and plays air guitar, as CIBERNETICO ATTACKS FROM BEHIND! He drops Matthews with the Garra Cibernetica, and now the plan becomes obvious, Cibernetico just screwed Matthews out of a title shot. So Gargano will face Cibernetico for the belt next week, while Matthews will likely face off with La Parka.
Things are really going crazy now, as out to the ring run the rest of Newgen, quickly followed by the rest of The Antichrists, and we have a 7 on 7 brawl between both factions that very quickly gets completely out of control! Officials run out to break this thing up, but they end up getting knocked to the canvas as these faction simply cannot be controlled. What will happen next in the Newgen vs Antichrists war?
One other thing to think about before we go though, was La Parka's interference in the main event merely an act of cowardice by Cibernetico because he feels he can't beat Matthews? Or was this simply part of The Antichrists plan all along? One thing is for sure, The Antichrists have a powerful new member and look like they will get even stronger next week, see you then!
